>I also know that Nintendo is actively meeting with independent developers to find new partners. Some of that is around publishing indie games, which Nintendo does from time-to-time, but it's also seeking studios that could work on some of its IP. Nintendo regularly works with third-party teams, including Bandai Namco, Team Ninja, Platinum Games, MercurySteam, WayForward and Grezzo. But the company is looking to add to that roster, and I know of three studios that are deep in conversation around making games based on Nintendo brands.

Ubisoft is one of them FYI
Wouldn't be a "newcomer", because those Mario and Rabbid games exist.
Ubisoft made the rabbids one which was decent, I trust them when they're not making the yearly slopfest
Wonderful games, suppose it’s safe to say we’re getting #3. What are the odds they try to rebalance Luigi and Rabbid Mario again, and they’re still top-tier?
As usual? Nintend𐐬 doesn't make games.
moron.
Actual moron
How many games have Sony and MS released last year? How many did Nintendo release?
They literally have a higher output than any other studio in the console space.
>I also know
Like they "knew" Zelda was the last game of 2023 on Switch right?
Throw out your craziest hypotheticals.
>Rockstar making a Star Tropics revival
>ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN BOAT, MIKE!
That is so unhinged and unlikely that I'm expecting the announcement sometime tomorrow.
FromSoft making a Zelda game.
A spinoff Zelda game is possble, but Nintendo is never going to outsource a mainline Zelda.
I always wondered why they didn't do more stuff life LoZ/Necrodancer. That was pretty good.
Spelunky Ice Climbers, where you climb up a mountain instead of descending, would be the coolest shit.
There's no reason to if they aren't in a lull year or trying to shake off something that's damaging in their investor reports. Their market strategy since they started manufacturing home consoles has always been oriented around preventing market saturation, and one of the main ways of accomplishing that is keeping the number of released titles below the level of consumer demand.
The obvious thing is it gives you some reason to buy the Nintendo specific version of a game, rather than buying it on Steam or whatever.
>2D kirby by wayforward
>zelda by bethesda
>metroid by 343 studios
>2d mario by retro studios
>dk musou by koei tecmo
>pokemon by bandai namco
>mother 4 by square enix
>star fox by bamco as well
>super smash bros by capcom
Metroid by KojiPro and I'll buy it.
>smash bros by Capcom
OK, but hear me out
Nintendo VS. Capcom would be a great title.
Kind of surprised that hasn't happened yet. Seems like a no-brainer.
It would be amazing, but I don't think Capcom will agree to make a game for 1 platform these days
>Nintendo VS. Capcom would be a great title.
That would be sick as all frick
Anon, there's no need for them outsource games they found success in making themselves.
Maybe some dormant IPs. F-Zero or something
>star fox by bamco
Specifically by Team ACES please.
They're saying studios they haven't worked with before? I can't think of any big ones
Most of the big western ones.
Maybe we're about to see some weird shit like Bethesda making a game for them.
Actually, it could literally be Microsoft. They're clearly trying to worm their way in there and establish a relationship with Nintendo. They have access to Rare properties, which would sell better on a Nintendo system. That could be a real thing that happens.
We already know that Sega and Namco recently created new studios specifically to handle crossover titles. It sounds like they're making a Nintendo Triforce Game again.
will we get more Mario RPG games?
While we're probably getting some sort of new Mario RPG sometime in Switch 2's lifespan, I imagine they'll wait until after TTYD to commit to a plan.
Both it and RPG getting remakes so close really does reek of management finally realizing the Sticker Star paradigm wasn't working, but not knowing where to go.
I don't know why they're so afraid of making more turn-based RPGs
I could see Nintendo outsourcing a top-down Zelda, and i think F-zero 99 might have been successful enough for Nintendo to go for another one
I figure the next F-zero will be made in house by the people who did 99
Best you'll get for a new top down Zelda is Nintendo kicking Grezzo into using their existing engine from the LA Remake to remake another.
If they get high maybe they'll allow Cadence of Hyrule 2, but that's about as far as I see them going for new 2D Zelda.
They should use that engine to make a full new game, and also pack in a Four Swords.
They could remake the Oracles, sure, but I think everyone would prefer just an outright new game.
Still hoping they remake the Oracle games and also make Oracle of Secrets with added crossovers to the original 2. Its never happening but I can dream.
It's been ten years since ALBW, Nintendo clearly doesn't have desire to actually do a new top down Zelda. Especially considering ALBW reused a lot of stuff from ALTTP as is.
>Some of that is around publishing indie games
I'd be completely okay if they asked for the Sakuna guys to do something for them.
The Sakuna guys are supposedly working on a sequel so that's probably not likely.
moronic urinalist doesn't even know that Nintendo just more than doubled the size of their internal staff in order to rely less on 3rd parties
Why not do both? 3rd parties have always complained about having to compete with Nintendo ips on their systems. Just get the 3rd parties to make Nintendo ip games (with some supervision to make sure they dont frick it up).
3rd parties get safe work, Nintendo gets more games.
ITS GONA BE KID ICAROS AND F-ZERO BY FRICKING PAJEET STUDIOS
Since Sony and Nintendo are making the Zelda movie together, imagine if we actually got a multiplat game made by Sony from this.
how long until they give the rights of zelda to naughty dog?
Criterion Games F-Zero better be a thing now
After that embarrassing Advance Wars remake I hope they never work with WF again. What the frick was that
WF sucked a lot of dicks under the table at NOA.
You can tell that was the case since the game didn't even get a Japanese release.
>Animal Crossing May Cry
>Call of Duty: Kirby Warfare
>Mario's Need For Speed
>Tom Clancy's: Star Fox
>C&C Generals: Pikmin Hour
2D Metroid by Vanillaware
Really, Vanillaware providing the 2D art for any game where they don't have to do the actual game design would be the best thing ever.
