>Switch still selling better than the year before
Obviously it's not the peak of its lifetime but this late into a console's life-cycle, the quarterly sales should almost always be down from the prior year. That it's not only still selling well but it's still selling strong software numbers is impressive
i mean when the year is done, it won't beat previous years, this quarter is up due to what I said.
in the report they say shipments are down in us and europe but growth in japan and elsewhere.
I think they mean after the year is done, it'll be lower overall
Which may be true but it's impressive nonetheless that a console is having as strong legs as this this late into its life-cycle
i mean when the year is done, it won't beat previous years, this quarter is up due to what I said.
in the report they say shipments are down in us and europe but growth in japan and elsewhere.
wait got TotK DLC
>Will it beat the PS2?
No.
its not impossible but is also not hard locked that they will.
If they meet Sales goal for this year (15M)
that puts them on 140M. Thats 15M shy from PS2 155M
From there on, it all depends Price cut, luck and release of the next Consoles (that current rumors put it at holiday 2024)

I doubt they would announce DLC this late considering BOTW had a season pass announced before launch and TOTK itself spawned from the team having way too many ideas for BOTW DLC (with the Master Cycle Zero being something they conceptualised for TOTK but decided to put in Champions' Ballad as a teaser)

No? Totk didn't go into full development until around 2018/2019. And listen to what you said there, if they started it AFTER then the master cycle was always intended for botw, which it was since Aonuma wanted it in the base game which is what was said in the creating a champion book.
>FY23/Q1: 3.43 mil >FY24/Q1: 3.91 mil
Holy shit the switch sold more than last year's quarter This is unprecedented for a 6 year old console.
It's going to outsell the PS2 like this
The Switch 1 will still be a good buy even when the Switch 2 launches. Switch 2 simply won't have the immense library that the Switch 1 have, unless it has backwards compatibility. Even with backwards compatibility still, Switch 1 is likely to be more less expensive than the Switch 2 making it a more attractive buy for people with less income.
Imagine if Nintendo does a price cut as well to the Switch 1
As petty as Sony is, I don't see them trying to pull a 4AM ballot dump with sales figures. Mainly because that's an easy way to get in lots of trouble.
Don't be silly, obviously no one will buy it because the Switch 2 is about to hit because rumors say so even though it makes no sense unless they want to murder sales.
You underestimate how little shit parents give about new console rumours. Even if there isnt a price cut, there will be people buying a switch up to the last second the next console comes out.
>because rumors say so
There have been rumours of a new Switch since late 2017. Constantly.
Switch Pro, just two more months! Any day now!
We will probably get a Switch 2 relatively soon. Even if it was to take a couple of years or whatever. But these rumours going around are still stupid.
I'll say this much at least, with confidence. Do not expect any Switch 2 announcements before Splatoon's and Pokemon's expansions are out. Nintendo loves Splatoon too much to do that and Pokemon is just too big to shaft. So people thinking it might actually be revealed before then just can't be thinking straight.
>no price cut
why? so they make less money? they could put out a switch that costs $50 with basically nothing new and people would still buy it... wait
also with inflation, no price cut is literally a price cut.
>Nintendo makes more net profit in one of its weakest quarters than Sony does as a corporation annually
I'm surprised the Playstation division doesn't try to opt out and split from Sony proper
Nintendo is just a better managed company. The executives take less money and the developers waste less resources making games.
Nintendo has one studio of 700 people in kyoto that makes 80% of their first party games. Sony has around ten different studios in different places around the world that each have around 500 staff. Sony, Microsoft, Embracer and all the other mega publishers who acquire new studios every other month are morons burning money.
Given that the last number (March 31) PS5 was at 38.4M then its logical to assume sales were 1.6M (we will know for sure next week when Sony has their on IR, which is weird for them to have it later than Nintendo)
>maybe they were late to calling the 40 million mark?
possible, but also, its Sony, they love to wank.
Also how is it possible?
Well, they had a record breaking shipping in Q4, if Q1 then came super low that mean Q4 was likely an oversharing and as consoles didnt move from retailers that much, it means they didnt have to order more from Sony, ergo the lower number
9 months ago
Anonymous
Sony overestimate pent up demand probably. It's why sony give PS5 discount this month otherwise they will miss their forecast by huge number.
Sony has it later than Nintendo so they can pull numbers out of their analytics department and claim victory over some weird new category they've created to show how well they did.
Is it safe to say that ignoring the pandemic boost, the Switch sales have actually consistently trended upwards every year for its entire lifespan?
That's kind of incredible.
>8 Deluxe sold 1.67m in Year 7 of their historically weakest quarter thanks to the movie + insane 3.91m Q1 hardware >now at 55.46m and counting
This fricking game
>Can we have a sales thread without commenting on sales?
Be the change you wanna see, comment on something else instead of, intentionally or not, directing more attention to that which bothers you
>Pokémon Scarlet/Pokémon Violet: 22.66 million pcs.
honestly pretty depressing
Do these threads serve any real purpose? Or are they yet another tendies gloat over sales “discussion”. If you gays don’t own Nintendo stock then this shouldn’t concern you in the slightest. The PS5 will outsell the shitch in the long run anyway.
Imagine having your bucks broke by a 10 year old tablet kek! Love to see the xperts on Ganker who bet this was going to be the last Nintendo console, no wonder why you are mostly unemployed, living with your parents and unmarried
Because they've been making the same 3rd person over the shoulder movie games for 10 years already, people are just sick of them by now.
And the rare occasion where they don't make a movie game they proceed to give it absolute zero marketing resulting in it flopping hard because people never new it existed.
Million seller is always yearly.
but comparing current top 10 with the one from 3 months ago, the "million sellers"
AniCro:NH = 0.58
Super Smash Bros U = 0.68
BOTW = 0.84
Mario O = 0.68
Pokemon Sw/Sh = .01
Pokemon Sc/Vi=0.56
Super Mario Party - 0.25
I also doesn't have any skirts, tries to make male and female as interchangeable as possible and was a huge stepback in terms of character designs. Also the open world is kinda shit, like if the bs people say about BotW was actually true. AND they removed a bunch of stuff that would have been content in earlier games for the sake of this gay ass half baked open world.
Nothing Pokémon on Switch is better than what came before it.
If you like what's on Switch you never liked Pokémon because it's an amalgamation of what morons who didn't the series wanted and they completely lack the things that people who like the series wanted.
>People who like pokemon games hate finding and collecting pokemon
Okay, very weird and wrong opinion. But guess transsexuals like you are seeing world differently >lack the things that people who like the series wanted.
like?
It's just that it really looks ugly and uninspired graphically, and is/was buggy. I obviously haven't played it, but it looks at some extent like an android game, so please understand why it is so despised. Although one friend thought they were the best pokemon games because of gameplay, so I'll give you that.
Same here, for as graphically glitchy as it is you can tell that there's more effort put into SV and to a lesser extent Arceus than any of the gen 6 to 8 games.
looks worse than genshin impact
I always played pokemon for being graphical marvel, but since series moved to 3ds, they really downgraded visuals compared to any other game on the market
>I always played pokemon for being graphical marvel
What graphical marvel? Pokemon has always been one of the worst looking games on their respective systems.
>pokémon >graphical marvel
See what the fricking DS was capable of when Pokémon was just tinkering with the most basic 3D possible ever.

>I'm tired of the Pokémon nostalgays and their fallacies regarding the old games, especially the Unovabortions who think that Black & White are "the pinnacle" of anything
No kidding, how hard is it to admit that Pokemon was always successful despite the graphics and not because of it.
The visuals looked charming and they had strong character design. But technically they were behind the curve from day 1, its part of the reason they can make and sell the games in such a short time span.

that's the funny part. Pokemon is the perfect example of style and designs beating graphics but people don't want to admit it

I say this as someone who doesn't even play most of Nintendo's first party output. I'm grateful to the device for being the best hub to success for niche JP games.
But the Switch earned it's success on games games games. There is no internet browser and very minimal UI and no TV or App focus. And for that, the success is deserved.
This. Nintendo are one of the few companies left that still put out actual video games and not games as a service cancer. People can cope by calling them rehashes and so on, but I know that when I buy a first party switch game, I get a fun, highly quality game that I can play offline without patches and that isn’t trying to israelite me every few seconds. I’d much rather the switch succeed over the transstation or the hebrewbox.
I'm really interested to see how much Pikmin 4 will end up selling at the next quarter. It's the first time in the series that a game launched first on a successful console.
It's easily well past FF16 at this point at least, so probably around 4 million sold which is crushes the life time sales of Pikmin 3 Deluxe of 2.5 million.
First completely new Pikmin on a actually successful console
They gave it the same amount of marketing as one of their S tier games.
Oatchie is definitely appealing for a mass market.
New camera angle helps remove a lot of the shitty false narrative that it's an RTS which keeps people away.
New console will probably kill Switch sales entirely so likely not. Not like it really matters, if Nintendo wanted that title they would've kept the DS alive for a year longer.
PS2 sold like 1/3 of its total sales as a piracy machine in third world countries anyway, not a meaningful metric.
I can see a new console with full backwards compatibility and 18-24 months of cross-gen doing decently and not fully axing Switch sales.
The big thing is to have as MANY Switch 2/New Console units available in the first year to establish a healthy installbase for the more dedicated fans who attract both developer support and their more casual friends onto the system in the coming years
Nintendo will do better by cutting off switch production entirely. It does not benefit them to have two production lines and people buying the old systems
>and people buying the old systems
why not, is not like they are on rush to entice 3rd party (they will never jump shit to Nintendo anyways)
So why cut a source of income, people will naturally gravitate towards the new console when exclusive release, meanwhile the few cross gen games will sell truckloads
>PS2 sold like 1/3 of its total sales as a piracy machine in third world countries anyway

this 2 wont apply for Switch 2 cause Nintendo is in not risk of their position in the market
so if we go by Switch release schedule (reveal 5 months before release) and we assume 2024 release is Holiday (November)
That means we wont get Nintendo's Swtich 2 information will July 2024.

Current rumors are saying Switch 2 releases in the second half of 2024 so I can see a reveal around March and release in October or so. Still plenty of time for the Switch to catch up to PS2, it's not going to suddenly collapse as long as games keep coming out, and we already know of some relatively high-profile 2024 games like Luigi's Mansion 2 and the Peach one.
When the Switch 2 will be announced at the end of the year or beginning of the following one and if it's the case that it will be a 99% backwards compatible console at $400.. The sales of the 3 Switch models will plummet instantly, since this would be in line with the slowdown and decline of the Switch
So most likely not, the throne of the PS2 and the DS will remain quiet in the meantime.
If it were a non-backwards compatible console how was the Switch for the Wii U, then the Switch would still have a strong reason for being prevalent
But everything points to the fact that the Switch 2 is the absolute replacement for the Switch, same concept, greater power and capacity for a new generation of games.
It's like buying a new PS4 instead of a new PS5, if you can afford the PS5, the PS4 is meaningless, because one does the same but better, and the other is doomed to abandonment.

Aside from the API being called NVN2, while Switch API (which was never used in anything other than Switch) is NVN, and literal mentions of Hovi (Nvidia's internal conde name for Nintendo) in the code itself.
This is a custom chip. It wouldn't exist if Nintendo didn't ask Nvidia to make it and give specific requirements

The pso trilogy
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
Billy hatcher
Skies of arcadia
Monkey Ball 1 and 2
Amazing Island
Sonic Mega Collection
Almost all of their games were skipping the ps2 outside of shovelware titles like that truck game until Sony got sick of it and started strong arming starting with Sonic Heroes them suddenly a ton of these games were being ported to ps2.

If it's actually based on one of the T234 chips it'll probably be around PS4 performance, maybe a bit weaker if they want to keep it in a small form factor and not kill the battery. I assume it'll use DLSS on everything and only have RT shit available when docked.

PS4 level when portable and around 2x stronger when docked.
And that's when just comparing Flop numbers while Ampere is much more advance architecture than GCN.
Like Xbox Series S with 4TF is better than Xbox One X with 6TF
I don't think there's a surer bet in the world right now than Nintendo leveraging their IPs. Just fricking look at the numbers in this thread. Absolutely unheard of software sales in IPs that have been building their legacies for nearly four fricking decades.
zelda will be utter garbage in modern times lvie action.
the only way to make it right was soul 80's hollywood fantasy and that shit is dead and gone. keep it cgi. all of nintendo ip's should be cgi or maybe 2d but 2d isn't as popular as cgi in movies
That will bring back Nintendo's kiddy stigma that they had since the SNES era.
Zelda (and their more mature IPs) need to be done in live action so Nintendo can be respected by the normies, otherwise it's back to the kiddy stigma.
Switch almost got rid of it, don't make it come back as it will be worse then it was during the SNES era.
You have a very closed minded notion of animation. Nintendo can pull big ass numbers with an animated Zelda film easily. Spiderverse is at 700mil, outperforming several live action films that were expected to be big hits this year; what's the excuse there?
Sound of Freedom did much better then Spiderverse as Sound of Freedom broke a billion.
Spiderverse however only made 70 million and most of that overseas where the film is edited just to release it in said countries.
Adults love animation. Just look at Rick and Morty and Family Guy.
Those are older kids and young teens who are graduating from traditional cartoons like SpongeBob and Teen Titans Go and are moving into live action sitcoms.

In all fairness any theatrical Nintendo animated film is guaranteed to aim itself to the whole family. to chase higher profit margins People fantasizing about a 5edgy3me Zelda or Metroid can wake up now.
Only Mario, Donkey Kong and Wario will be animated.
The rest (excluding their weeb IPs as those will be made locally) will be live action.
Kirby will be excluded from all of this because Hal wants a Kirby movie to be made locally so they can full control over it.
Pokemon is also excluded because it's film rights are own by Warner Bros/Legendary Pictures, and making Detective Pikachu live action made Pokemon RESPECTED with normies, if Detective Pikachu was a 3DCG movie it will be viewed as a disposable kids movie and nothing more but because it's live action normies respected.
The fact that Mario will win next year's Oscar for best picture is the ONLY reason why Mario isn't listed as a disposable kids movie but rather a movie that defined a generation like Aladdin and Shrek.
Do these threads serve any real purpose? Or are they yet another tendies gloat over sales “discussion”. If you gays don’t own Nintendo stock then this shouldn’t concern you in the slightest. The PS5 will outsell the shitch in the long run anyway.
If he's planning to shit up this thread, then he's probably not going to sleep any time soon as the Famitsu numbers drop in few hours, and I'm pretty sure he's not that thread.
I remember Nintendo said that the first games in a series to launch on the switch sell well, but then the second game to launch on the switch tend to sell less. If that's true, then a big reason is probably so they can release their games and not suffer that loss.
Seeing Nintendo succeed in spite of the industry during the last five years has been something else. No graphics homosexualry, no voice actor homosexualry, no celebrity guest homosexualry, no online multiplayer homosexualry, no cinematic experience homosexualry. Just fun little games with good gameplay
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 55.46 million
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 42.79 million
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 31.77 million
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 30.65 million
Super Mario Odyssey – 26.44 million
Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield – 25.92 million
Pokemon Scarlet / Pokemon Violet – 22.66 million
Super Mario Party – 19.39 million
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 18.51 million
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 16.17 million
>New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe 16.7 million
Crazy how a 2D Mario game that came out on the wii u still manages to outsell most first party Sony and Microsoft games. The profit margins for that release must have been insane.
>there's no way it's not going to be, right??
Think of it like this, if it's not backwards compatible they can sell switch games to you again. It's a coin flip imo.
unless they have a massive paradigm shift, then its locked to be backwards
they already pulled that shit with the Wii u because it sold no units, there's no way they can get away with selling ports for a system people actually bought
especially if it's actually similar to the switch
From their report: >Regarding the Nintendo Switch business during the first quarter (April through June 2023), The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (released in May) got off to a good start recording sales of 18.51 million units.
Understatement of the century, kek. "Oh yeah, it sold 18.5 millions in a month and a half, good start I guess."
If they make a traditional Zelda with an open world, it would be perfect. Imagine An open overworld half the size of BotW with traditional Zelda mechanics (Traditional dungeons, no durability, no shrines) It would sell more than BotW.
I don't know if I should feel happy or sad about that. Then again, it's not like Skyward Sword reviewed or sold badly, yet they still were able to see it's flaws.
I enjoyed totk but I hope there's room for a top down adventure here and there. 3d zelda is never going back but these games take forever so there's a window for old formula releases.
>Launch sales are ridiculous but people seem to be turning on it faster than they did with BotW
This really isn't true. What you're observing is rather all the BotW hate (that never ceases or let up since BotW's time), transforming into TotK hate instead.
Imagine caring about investors numbers when you're a customer, none of you all receive any of Nintendo's revenue.
What should matter to you is that the games are good and when they aren't a sales failure (unlikely for Nintendo).. In everything else, talking about the numbers of already successful games is useless and a monumental waste of time, worthy of the most insufferable company cultism.
I will use my nintendo dividends to pay for the internet bill I use to shitpost about nintendo sales on Ganker and there is nothing you can do about it but cry
>You won't ever receive any acknowledgment from any company involved in anything you ever discuss in these boards. But you do it for fun.
the anon isn't discussing their revenues though but the games themselves, your post makes no sense.
If you must take it for something more directly benefitial, the better the games I like sell the more of them I can expect, and the better a prospect the console will appear to third parties to come invest on next gen.
I just like keeping an eye on industry sales in general. I'm also around whenever Sony and MS post their results. It's fun to follow.
Nintendo doing well means that they’ll keep putting out the types of games that I enjoy. Most of the games that sold well were games that I bought and enjoyed playing, so I’m happy that they were successful. Why do snoys have such a hard time understanding this?
Who is fricking talking about Sony schizo?
I don't give a shit about the revenue or profits of multi-million or billion companies as long as I don't work for them, that includes Sony or Microsoft.
>Nintendo doing well means that they’ll keep putting out the types of games that I enjoy. Most of the games that sold well were games that I bought and enjoyed playing, so I’m happy that they were successful. Why do snoys have such a hard time understanding this?
Because Snoys just change what they like based on whatever Sony releases with no regard to previous gens
>and when they aren't a sales failure (unlikely for Nintendo)...
It's almost as if that's the purpose of these threads, to see what's popular and has a future and what doesn't.
>but then you ask to remove cod threads and others or say sales
Oh you're just shitposting.
Hate to break it to you but the only time sales threads have ever been a problem on this board is with Nintendo.
Capcom, Square, hell even with all the daily bragging threads from sonygays no one asked for them to be removed. As usual, it's never okay when Nintendo does it.
>Tendies said MHW would flop
Tendies were never in MH threads and unlike you crying about Nintendo sales threads because you hate them MH fans said it would flop because prior to world that was the current trend.
MH1, 2, P2rdHD and MH4U HD all sold sub 1m
MH tri was the only one that went above that with 1.3.
Meanwhile the portable titles averaged in the 4-5m range, and no, this isn't just the 3ds games but the psp titles too. Anyone with any sense would come to the same conclusion that it wouldn't sell as much as a portable title based on trends at the time.
It was never a console war thing until you insecure sony fanboys made it one constantly screaming about how "MH came back home" and that it would never come back to a Nintendo system. >and RE would die and they are still there
Yeah this never happened. To this day I haven't seen a single tendie in a Resi thread and I frequent them. Granted it had criticism in regards to the design changes but that's unaffiliated criticism if you can't handle that and have to cope by claiming it's an attack on your company then you don't belong here.
But this is where you do the stupid thing and go >BUT UR A TENDIEEEEE AND UR IN DEM!
Right?
>Nintendo has a release gap for August and September
Probably Pokémon DLC will fill for one month. I'm not sure what other DLC there would be. It's probably just Pokémon carrying for them like usual.
It wouldn't be part of the million sellers obviously, but I assume there were no extended sales reports? Last time we actually had one. I wanted to know about Xenoblade 3, so we at least would've its complete sales for its 1-year anniversary.
>4 million in a quarter with a new zelda at the start
That's legit pathetic, I don't see this platform having much of a future in spite of nintendo insisting that it's their only platform for another 6 years.
I'm not eric and it's still hours away, and those numbers are pathetic, how are they not pathetic, it should have done 6-8 million considering the software.
switch is bucking most if not all trends, but it's foundering hard, expect it to drop for another year, nintendo won't be coming close to the ps2's lifetime, software isn't anywhere near close either.
Aligned with the PS2 the Switch is beating it in both hardware and software at the same point in its lifecycle. If it's still getting sold in two years it'll probably beat it. By this time next year it'll probably be close to or over 145m.

switch won't have the same tail as the ps2 due to a complete lack of software, especially from third parties, third parties still put out major titles on ps2 after it was replace, third parties aren't doing that right now on switch when it's at the point in it's life where software can capitalize on it's large install base, there really is no future for the hardware, and things are looking bad for it's follow up, most Let'splay And Reaction Personality Expert Rated Speculators on Youtube agree that nintendo has no future for a sequel to the switch based on what they are seeing on their cultivated primarily nintendo communities who have since moved to Steam Deck and Xbox.

You don't know shit about what the Switch release schedule will look like come the successor tho. The 3DS which was way deader than the Switch will ever be still managed to sell 10 million after the Switch was out.

Its insane that the Switch is still outselling every other system in its SEVENTH year on the market snd it hasn't even had a price drop yet.

It still has to sell more than 30 million units to beat the PS2 without the third world marketplace or tail end third party support to drive sales, I really don't see it happening, but I will make a bet, I will buy a switch 2 and 10 games if the switch actually matches or surpasses the ps2's lifetime sales
9 months ago
Anonymous
Like I tell ya, 3DS sold 10 million after the Switch released. That's while being in an infinitely worse place than the Switch is at, and having already received its discounts. Not to mention we still have an entire year ahead at least, during which at least 15 mil are all but guaranteed. They have this in the bag
9 months ago
Anonymous
Not that anon, but I'm also not sure.
Switch is now at 129.5M
Assuming it sells another 15M untill fall 2024, will put it at 145M.
That's still some 15M short of PS2. (PS2 is around 158M)
Maybe if they make a cheaper dockable model ala 2DS XL, bring down Lite to $150 and continue releasing less demanding titles like Mario Party as cross-gen with Switch 2
9 months ago
Anonymous
Stop trying to inflate numbers lol, the final official recorded number for PS2 was 155 million.
15M short, and in the next few years it should cross the path no problem. Again if the 3DS managed 10M the Switch can do that no problem, especially if you discount the price as you mention

In this hypothetical, the kinda customer who'd get a Switch this late into the game isn't gonna get a way more expensive Switch 2 just to have the benefit of the two in one. That thinking applies to the kinda fans that are gonna get the Switch 2 early regardless, not families who've been holding all this time waiting for a discount.

Sonic wasn't completely funded by Nintendo, unlike Bayonetta
9 months ago
Anonymous
That's not even remotely the same equivalence, nintendo didn't pay for those sonic games in their entirety, and nintendo doesn't outright now those sonic games, it's just not the same thing
The whole point about AA vs AAA is that MGS2 was Konami putting their best staff on a PS2 only game, those switch titles are those companies putting their e team and minimal resources into a switch title, that's why I only cite Rise since it's literally the only game by a third party made for switch first where a company put up their A game.
Anonymous
>is that MGS2 was Konami putting their best staff on a PS2 only game
HA no. MGS2 was the Snake's Revenge of Solid only it was made by kojima this time. Regardless, all of those "e team" games are their competent workers who actually want to make the games they want to rather than shovel out games to the masses, compare Octopath to modern final fantasy, one is clearly a passion project that runs better, has more complex mechanics and a unique art and audio style, the other is a flashy nonsense game focused tested out the ass to the point where it doesn't even resemble it's namesake. They could have called it Vagrant Story 2 and no one would have batted an eye. It's low effort shovelware.

PS2 is 20+ years old it's shit has long since risen to the top for all to see, and it's much easier to find the switch is less than half of that we haven't seen it's lows and it's swamp is seemingly endless, the switch has more games of that quality than the PS2 has games at all, there's probably more shitty zero effort literal asset swap games on switch than console games launched for the entire 6th generation of videogame hardware, the library is nearly 5k games at this point but discussions online tend to be about less than 100 of them.

So what, when people post a game that makes up 98% of the ps2 library that's not fair? And you were in a conversation about how bad the games can get on ps2 not how much there was, of course you're going to get more on switch because digital games allow for more games to come to a system, but that doesn't mean they're worse.

Knowing full well I'm probably going to be called Eric, it'll probably still be in the top ten so long as nothing new came out this week. Although console homosexualry makes me just read the ops and move on so I have to ask, is being in the top ten not good enough for games there? I'm just morbidly curious
>Switch first year >new zelda >new mario >mario kart
>switch (last) this year >new zelda >new mario >mario kart doubling in content
I'm pretty sure that Mario Wonder will be the Switch swan's song. Thoughts? Any game releasing in the next years is just games that were already in development for the Switch, september direct will prove it.

>You can tell that the Switch is on its last legs and we're getting a successor here soon because the 3DS did the exact same shit
And so did 2020 but here we are 3 years later
The supposed Switch Pro was canceled at the time due to the obvious chips shortage
And the Switch 2 is imminent because there are already devkits rolling around and literally since last year Nvidia leak the SoC of the console in its database
>And the Switch 2 is imminent because there are already devkits rolling around
We haven't seen or heard of devkits yet anon.
All we have right now are rumors.
>6 quarters left till the supposed switch 2 >One of them being the holidays >still have not done one price cut in 6 years
You are delusional to think this wont outsell the ps2 by next year holidays.
If they don't do price cut, they are the most moronic company in the world. Sony dropped ps2's price to like 140 dollars by December of 2006, obviously that helped with the sales. Nintendo would achieve unexplainable things if they made a price cut.
>no shrines
Even the classic games have shrines. They just aren't called shrines.
Things like this always make me think that gaming criticism is very flawed most of the times because people aren't open minded to the use of different terms that carry the same meaning in some way or another. Also, hating the next game just because it isn't exactly as the previous one. Which would make every game feel like a dlc, like Duke nukem 1 and 2.
Hmmmm...
leaker trannies might be correct that devkits are out there but you have to be extremely moronic to believe that nintendo will officially announce new hardware (next gen not fricking themed ones moron who pretends to be a smartass) before the upcoming holiday season. Shit sells like this in its 7th year and you are insisting that they will jeopardize their biggest quarter (every year) just so muh pixelz and graphix trannies like you can dream of dilating with the new joycons? yeah no
Yes, this is scary. And it's only on one console. Obviously the sales will be lower at the end against elden ring, BUT ITS BECAUSE IT ONLY RELEASED IN ONE CONSOLE. it's insane
Because MS and Sony basically abandoned the family market. It's part of why Philly Cheesesteak wanted ABK, they've got IPs basically rotting in a corner that Xbox could use to that end.
Because the industry direction the Switch represents is incredible compared to what we've had.
And the Switch has been a significant component in the revitalisation of the AA sphere of videogames. Which is desperately needed in this era of AAA driving towards their doom and GAAS garbage trying to infect the medium.
Okay? He didn't say anything about dlc.
That said I'd like to say that I prefer Nintendo's approach to dlc, most games get a single $20-30 dlc pass which are often full expansions or at least end with one and then there's no more.
None of this bloated $100 dollar total dlc bullshit for 6 characters.
homie, those are fricking costumes.
And how many other fighting games gave you >a character >a stage >new music >new side content
In a single purchase? It's just smash you look at something like Tekken or DBZF and all you get is the character, everything else is an individual purchase.

I like most of the direction nintendo took with their games on the switch era so I'm happy that they will follow in more of it. I do think that they could make their UI less sterile but I like that the menus outside of the e-shop are fast so I hope they find a good middle ground on the next one

>Switch still selling better than the year before
Obviously it's not the peak of its lifetime but this late into a console's life-cycle, the quarterly sales should almost always be down from the prior year. That it's not only still selling well but it's still selling strong software numbers is impressive
mario movie and zelda, it'll still be down YoY
>it'll still be down YoY
its up YoY
Last year Q1 was 3.43M
This Year Q1 is 3.91M
What are you smoking anon
i mean when the year is done, it won't beat previous years, this quarter is up due to what I said.
in the report they say shipments are down in us and europe but growth in japan and elsewhere.
I think they mean after the year is done, it'll be lower overall
Which may be true but it's impressive nonetheless that a console is having as strong legs as this this late into its life-cycle
wait got TotK DLC
its not impossible but is also not hard locked that they will.
If they meet Sales goal for this year (15M)
that puts them on 140M. Thats 15M shy from PS2 155M
From there on, it all depends Price cut, luck and release of the next Consoles (that current rumors put it at holiday 2024)
I doubt they would announce DLC this late considering BOTW had a season pass announced before launch and TOTK itself spawned from the team having way too many ideas for BOTW DLC (with the Master Cycle Zero being something they conceptualised for TOTK but decided to put in Champions' Ballad as a teaser)
>with the Master Cycle Zero being something they conceptualised for TOTK but decided to put in Champions' Ballad as a teaser
There's literally no evidence for that.
It's in the book they put out
It isn't anon.
Totk wasn't a thing conceptually at the time they made champion's ballas
Pretty sure they started work right after Champions' Ballad ended so the cycle was one of many ideas they had that they thought should be turned into a full sequel instead.
>Pretty sure they started work right after Champions' Ballad ended
No? Totk didn't go into full development until around 2018/2019. And listen to what you said there, if they started it AFTER then the master cycle was always intended for botw, which it was since Aonuma wanted it in the base game which is what was said in the creating a champion book.
I think Mario RPG and Mario Wonder will prop it up as a big holiday seller.

Holy shit the switch sold more than last year's quarter This is unprecedented for a 6 year old console.
It's going to outsell the PS2 like this
it's nuts that it's only 26 million away. too bad its gonna be kneecaps by Switch 2 launch next year
>Eating up the yearly regurgitated slop from VGC.
moron.
Still no price cut yet either.
That's mainly because of the new zelda, next quarter will not be as good.
Sony will magically find 10 million more PS2 sales when the Switch starts getting close, and they'll update PS3 sales to beat the Wii.
As petty as Sony is, I don't see them trying to pull a 4AM ballot dump with sales figures. Mainly because that's an easy way to get in lots of trouble.
Whats there to lose? They will just send all the Nintendo employees to jail if they call them out on it.
It wouldn't be the first time.
>YOY sales up
>all premium models +86%
>budget models -21% -56%
>no price cut
>year 7
This is unprecedented
>no price cut
why? so they make less money? they could put out a switch that costs $50 with basically nothing new and people would still buy it... wait
also with inflation, no price cut is literally a price cut.
>also with inflation, no price cut is literally a price cut.
It's all mind games
People prefer a 19.99 dollars meal rather than a 20 one
It's only a month and a half moron. Quarter only goes until the end of June
Net sales 461.34 Billion Yen (50%+YoY)
Operating Income 185.44 Billion Yen (82.4%+YoY)
Switch Shipped from April 1 to Jun 30
3.91M (3rd best Q1 in Switch life time)
Do we ever get a sense of what Nintendo's Net Profit is?
181 Billion Yen
>Nintendo makes more net profit in one of its weakest quarters than Sony does as a corporation annually
I'm surprised the Playstation division doesn't try to opt out and split from Sony proper
Nintendo is just a better managed company. The executives take less money and the developers waste less resources making games.
Nintendo has one studio of 700 people in kyoto that makes 80% of their first party games. Sony has around ten different studios in different places around the world that each have around 500 staff. Sony, Microsoft, Embracer and all the other mega publishers who acquire new studios every other month are morons burning money.
>3.91M (3rd best Q1 in Switch life time)
Doesn't that make it the best selling console of Q1 by huge margin this year since PS5 was 1.6m?
wait PS5 only did 1.6m last three months? what?
Sony recently announced PS5 reached 40m
Given that the last number (March 31) PS5 was at 38.4M then its logical to assume sales were 1.6M (we will know for sure next week when Sony has their on IR, which is weird for them to have it later than Nintendo)
maybe they were late to calling the 40 million mark? how the frick did they only sell 1.6 million
>maybe they were late to calling the 40 million mark?
possible, but also, its Sony, they love to wank.
Also how is it possible?
Well, they had a record breaking shipping in Q4, if Q1 then came super low that mean Q4 was likely an oversharing and as consoles didnt move from retailers that much, it means they didnt have to order more from Sony, ergo the lower number
Sony overestimate pent up demand probably. It's why sony give PS5 discount this month otherwise they will miss their forecast by huge number.
Could be the "shipped" and "sold" numbers getting interchanged to cause the confusion
i thought they only used "shipped"? you'd think they would ship more than 1.6 million for an entire quarter, to the world
38.4M was shipped number they said the 40 million was sold through, shipped number probably more than that.
Sony has it later than Nintendo so they can pull numbers out of their analytics department and claim victory over some weird new category they've created to show how well they did.
>Doesn't that make it the best selling console of Q1
its not even their on best Q1 on Switch (that is 5.6M)
Isn't that pretty much on par with something like Steam?
Is it safe to say that ignoring the pandemic boost, the Switch sales have actually consistently trended upwards every year for its entire lifespan?
That's kind of incredible.
>8 Deluxe sold 1.67m in Year 7 of their historically weakest quarter thanks to the movie + insane 3.91m Q1 hardware
>now at 55.46m and counting
This fricking game
We really can't have a thread without you homosexuals dickriding Mario Kart, huh?
It sells, we get it.
>Can we have a sales thread without commenting on sales?
Be the change you wanna see, comment on something else instead of, intentionally or not, directing more attention to that which bothers you
It's interesting watching the biggest exclusive game of all time continuing to grow its lead
>biggest exclusive game of all time
Nah, it's also on the Wii U.
These numbers are only for the Switch version though, you can't name a single non multiplat that has outsold it.
Mario Kart 8 is
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe isn't
Checkmate atheist
Imagine having your bucks broke by a 10 year old tablet kek! Love to see the xperts on Ganker who bet this was going to be the last Nintendo console, no wonder why you are mostly unemployed, living with your parents and unmarried
Why don’t snoy games sell like this? They spent like 200 million on Horizon 2 and it will never get anywhere near these numbers. Sad!
Because they've been making the same 3rd person over the shoulder movie games for 10 years already, people are just sick of them by now.
And the rare occasion where they don't make a movie game they proceed to give it absolute zero marketing resulting in it flopping hard because people never new it existed.
Because mario kart appeals to literally everyone, while Sony third person movies only appeal to a very select neckbeard audience
q1 is kinda boring
we stop getting updates on the million sellers from previous year and we have to wait for more games to release
Million seller is always yearly.
but comparing current top 10 with the one from 3 months ago, the "million sellers"
AniCro:NH = 0.58
Super Smash Bros U = 0.68
BOTW = 0.84
Mario O = 0.68
Pokemon Sw/Sh = .01
Pokemon Sc/Vi=0.56
Super Mario Party - 0.25
>Pokémon Scarlet/Pokémon Violet: 22.66 million pcs.
honestly pretty depressing
Why? It's fun
You know a game is garbage when the defence is “it’s fun”
Seethe harder, Niel Druckman.
Graphically it's a shitty game but apparently it has good story so as a non-Scarvio player who are we to judge
Aspects other than the story are good too, but with how atrocious it looks and runs, they shouldn't be rewarded with these huge sales.
On the bright side, it was already at 22 million before this update, so that means sales for it massively slowed down.
>On the bright side, it was already at 22 million before this update, so that means sales for it massively slowed down.
Most Pokemon games only sell a 2-3 million more than their launch year figures in the systems lifespan
SV have already sold about 2 million in the first half of this year. So it's probably going to pass Gold/Silver if not Sword/S
hield by the end of the Switchs life.
>One of the best games in series selling well is depressing
Could never understand v's mentality
Ganker can't into defining quality so they just deem anything they don't like as bad.
But guess transsexuals like you are seeing world differently
>lack the things that people who like the series wanted.
like?
>Nothing Pokémon on Switch is better than what came before it.
both SWSH and SV are better than the 3DS games anon
S/V sure but Sun/Moon was way better than Sword/Shield.
It's just that it really looks ugly and uninspired graphically, and is/was buggy. I obviously haven't played it, but it looks at some extent like an android game, so please understand why it is so despised. Although one friend thought they were the best pokemon games because of gameplay, so I'll give you that.
>It's just that it really looks ugly and uninspired graphically
It's the first time since Pokemon moved to 3D, where I don't miss it being 2D.
Same here, for as graphically glitchy as it is you can tell that there's more effort put into SV and to a lesser extent Arceus than any of the gen 6 to 8 games.
looks worse than genshin impact
I always played pokemon for being graphical marvel, but since series moved to 3ds, they really downgraded visuals compared to any other game on the market
>always played pokemon for graphical marvel
?????
>I always played pokemon for being graphical marvel
What graphical marvel? Pokemon has always been one of the worst looking games on their respective systems.
>I always played pokemon for being graphical marvel
>pokémon
>graphical marvel
See what the fricking DS was capable of when Pokémon was just tinkering with the most basic 3D possible ever.
I'm tired of the Pokémon nostalgays and their fallacies regarding the old games, especially the Unovabortions who think that Black & White are "the pinnacle" of anything
Pokemon is the perfect example of style and designs beating graphics but people don't want to admit it
Bruh, stop perpetuating the stereotype that Pokemon fans only frame of reference for RPGs is Pokemon. ATLUS did it years earlier and actually managed to have backgrounds and no basic coding errors.
it's the most fun I had with "3DS and post" pokemon but it's still such a downgrade from gens 3 to 5
The Nintendo Switch deserves it's success.
I say this as someone who doesn't even play most of Nintendo's first party output. I'm grateful to the device for being the best hub to success for niche JP games.
But the Switch earned it's success on games games games. There is no internet browser and very minimal UI and no TV or App focus. And for that, the success is deserved.
>I'm grateful to the device for being the best hub to success for niche JP games.
True
My JRPG Machine
ASTLIBRA WHENNNNN
also on pc/ps4*
When did Xenoblade and SMTV come out on those?
I was talking about the good games, I thought it was obvious sorry
>falcom shit
>good
I know Nintendo really hurts your butthole for whatever reason, but that's beyond the pale.
I never played any of the games in the pic to be honest lol
Oh so none of the ps4 ports.
So when did SMT and Xeno get ported then?
Yeah, that doesn't work when those are games ported FROM ps4 to other platforms.
>buying anime games on the ps4
Its like you like being cucked.
what a cool collection!
Just a ball hair short of the 130m mark for Switch damn.
Zelda totk did 18.5 million in a month?
Yeah, the world record is held by PUBG which had 40 million in it's first 3 months
Actually PUBG didn't count due to launching in Early Access.
It got several other records but not fastest selling.
Why do you think it sold so high?
First completely new Pikmin on a actually successful console
They gave it the same amount of marketing as one of their S tier games.
Oatchie is definitely appealing for a mass market.
New camera angle helps remove a lot of the shitty false narrative that it's an RTS which keeps people away.
Will it beat the PS2?
>Will it beat the PS2?
No.
>New console will probably kill Switch sales entirely so likely not.
lmao, even the 3DS sold 10 million after the Switch was out. The PS2 is done
Nintendo still has the "Price Cut" option
>PS2 sold like 1/3 of its total sales as a piracy machine in third world countries anyway
Can confirm, muh dvd player was a mutt thing. Everyone else was playing fricking videogames on the thing
No, the sales will collapse when they announce switch 2 in a few months.
>in a few months
Next year at earliest, they announced the switch like 2 month before it released, they will do the same with it's successor anything else would just be moronic. We also know that they will not release a new hardware this year, so it can't be "in a few months"
>they announced the switch like 2 month before it released
April 2015 - NX mentioned at conference with DeeNa to reassure that Nintendo isn't going mobile only
April 2016 - "NX will launch this fiscal year" tweet
October 2016 - Switch unveiled in YouTube video
January 2017 - Switch presentation
>April 2015 - NX mentioned at conference with DeeNa to reassure that Nintendo isn't going mobile only
>April 2016 - "NX will launch this fiscal year" tweet
this 2 wont apply for Switch 2 cause Nintendo is in not risk of their position in the market
so if we go by Switch release schedule (reveal 5 months before release) and we assume 2024 release is Holiday (November)
That means we wont get Nintendo's Swtich 2 information will July 2024.
Nintendo is not kneecapping the Switch anytime soon. At best you can expect a formal announcement from them no soon than Summer 2024 if the rumors are to be believed.
Nate Drake, Jeff Grub and Emily Roggers said September of this year we're getting a announcement, Nintendo is running low on T214 stock and they ran out of V2 Switch components .
OLED and Lite are fine for now.
Sauce on Emily saying that? The first two are hit or miss with anything that isn't Direct dates but if Emily's backing it up that gives more credence
Emily has said we'd get Mother 3 since the Wii U launched. Shut the frick up. She knows nothing.
>Nate Drake, Jeff Grub and Emily Roggers said September of this year we're getting a announcement
IIRC Nate didn't say anything about announcement date. Grub said he heard murmurs about this year, but had no specifics. Dunno about Emily
They all said September.
I must've missed it, then. Wouldn't September reveal mean H1 24 launch? Otherwise they could announce it after holidays for H2 24 launch
They said May 10th 2024 would be the release.
That got shelved because of the Magypsies.
She knows her stuff.
I must've missed a lot during the night, yesterday Nate was firmly in fall 24 launch camp
No, she doesn't. You're either her or you're white knighting for her. Her predictions are almost always wrong.
Yes, she does.
Okay Emily, keep telling yourself that. Post proof while you're at it.
Emily had a bad track record before the Switch. In the Switch era tho she's been much more careful and whenever she does hint at something it's always come true. Just looking at facts here. The one leaker more reliable was King Tsubasa but he's long been out of the running.
>Nintendo is running low on T214 stock and they ran out of V2 Switch components .
Source
Can you guys actually link a source to where any of this was said? I tend to trust Grubb and Nate on most of this stuff but you can't just claim that they said something specific and then just not cite anything
I'm the second post you mention and while I vouch for Emily's credibility in the Switch era I'm not aware she posted what the first anon said she did. I asked them for a source and they haven't provided it.
Here's what I found from Nate
Main takeaways being:
>September/October 2024 launch
>Dev kits are out to key companies (your usual suspects like Namco, Capcom, etc.)
>Will launch with a new 3D Mario game (likely what EPD/1-UP Studio have been working on for the past couple of years)
>Back to LCD from OLED, but screen size will be bigger
>Still no answer on backwards compat
>likely what EPD/1-UP Studio have been working on for the past couple of years
Hey, they were working on Wonder.
Thats EPD10.
EPD8 is the unit that does AAA 3D Mario.
Anon, the frequently mix team members.
Only once with the Zelda unit (EPD3) for New Super Mario Bros U and A Link Between Worlds, and this was during the EAD days.
Fun fact, EPD 8 and 10 work on any Mario game they're called up for that's why when you look in the credits of the game there's members from both.
>Back to LCD because Kishida's South Korea deal failed.
If the switch 2 is releasing next year, probably not but I do think it will get close
Yes, Switch is doing better in the same timeframe.
What if there's a price cut ( something that never happened so far) on the Switch?
I think it has a chance, albeit a small one
Then it probably will hit like 170 with ease
If it were a non-backwards compatible console how was the Switch for the Wii U, then the Switch would still have a strong reason for being prevalent
But everything points to the fact that the Switch 2 is the absolute replacement for the Switch, same concept, greater power and capacity for a new generation of games.
It's like buying a new PS4 instead of a new PS5, if you can afford the PS5, the PS4 is meaningless, because one does the same but better, and the other is doomed to abandonment.
>But everything points to the fact that the Switch 2 is the absolute replacement for the Switch
And so far we have absolutely zero evidence. Just like the pro rumors that never came to fruition
>zero evidence
>"leakers"
>rumors
>nothing concrete whatsoever
Zero
Evidence
Nvidia leaks are not rumors, in the chip industry this type of leaked information is completely common
There is nothing more concrete than that.
The PS5 and Series X SoC was leaked long before they were announced officially and this is no exception.
>Nvidia leaks are not rumors
Correct. You know what is though? The part being used for the switch. No one even knows if Nintendo is still going with Nvidia or if its even been pitched to them yet.
We have absolutely nothing anon.
>You know what is though? The part being used for the switch.
>Aside from the API being called NVN2
Yeah I'm going to stop you there because that doesn't mean a thing.
Was NVN1 ever used on the Shield TV as that uses the same chip as the Switch?
>says actual thing that exists in hacked leak admitted by nvidia themselves to be real is not an actual thing
lol moron
It being real doesn't tell you what it's for.
A Nintendo handheld has never not had a pro unless they rushed it off the market and it would be moronic to do it now when it's the only system.
>A Nintendo handheld has never not had a pro
Anon, only two system had a pro version. Well, technically 1 the dsi wasn't any more powerful than a normal DS.
>never not had a pro
Conveniently ignore that GBA then.
oh is this a pro vs next-gen moronic argument? thats even worse because I thought you were trolling but I now know that you are just autistic.
>nvn2 api exists
>we don't even know if it's a placeholder it anything else
>Nintendo doesn't renew with Nvidia
>nothing happens
It's just that simple anon.
Remember, they have a 10 year plan for the switch and sales aren't dropping by a significant amount even after 7.
Why would Nvidia spend millions of dollars for a custom chip and API for it for no reason?
Anon, it only costs millions when it's being mass produced. They aren't going to fricking mass produce it if they haven't gotten to go ahead yet.
The console has surely already been made and manufactured in partnership with Nvidia for 1-2 years already, but you are wondering if Nintendo has gone with AMD or Intel?
There is absolutely no reason to not maintain the Tegra continuity because that would kill the new console.
>The console has surely already been made
At this stage? No.
A console should be made a minimum of 1-2 years in advance so that developers can do something with the devkits while it is announced and released.
>A console should be made a minimum of 1-2 years in advance
And we aren't at that stage yet.
And on the topic of devkits we would have seen some in the wild if devs had them by now much like we did for the ps5 dev kits.
I don't think any developer is so stupid enough to want to break Nintendo's NDA
In addition, Nintendo has a history of disseminating its kits to a very small number of devs and those with whom it most trusts.
The case of the PS5 was unusual.
>I don't think any developer is so stupid enough to want to break Nintendo's NDA
And you think they would want to break Sony's far harsher one?
Nintendo doesn't rely on 3rd parties to make money, Sony's entire lifeline is 3rd parties otherwise they'de have gone into Bankruptcy years ago
Okay?
Anon, you how Sony works right? They can and have ruined devs for less.
Sony ruins their own devs moron, they don't dare to frick up the major publishers that salvage them from the red.
>Sony ruins their own devs moron
HA. Do you even know how many developers and games they ruined in gen 6 because they forced them to support the ps2?
>forced them to support the PS2
not major publishers and they "forced them" precisely because they desperately need 3rd party sales to survive.
They fricked Sega as a console manufacturer so they could get their games as a 3rd party.
>They fricked Sega as a console manufacturer so they could get their games as a 3rd party.
And then they threatened to blacklist Sega if they didn't support the ps2. Or did you not notice that a lot of their games never came to ps2?
Sonic Heroes had to be ported to an entirely new engine and ruined because of Sony.
You truly are mentally moron.
You're literally saying it yourself, they were threatening them for the sake of getting their games on the PS2, they desperately need those games so they would never block them from releasing on their platform.
You didn't see Sega games until later because the Dreamcast was still around
My fricking god anon. The point is that Sony is the only company that had the power and did actually try to ruin games and companies.
What's so hard to understand about this?
>You didn't see Sega games until later because the Dreamcast was still around
Black person, are you delusional?
Look at how many Sega games the gamecube had that didn't come to ps2, ports or otherwise
The pso trilogy
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
Billy hatcher
Skies of arcadia
Monkey Ball 1 and 2
Amazing Island
Sonic Mega Collection
Almost all of their games were skipping the ps2 outside of shovelware titles like that truck game until Sony got sick of it and started strong arming starting with Sonic Heroes them suddenly a ton of these games were being ported to ps2.
Sonic Heroes came out in 2003 in 2004 and 05 you suddenly had ports of these Sega games that came out 2 or 3 years before.
>Or did you not notice that a lot of their games never came to ps2?
That was less due to Sony and more that Microsoft picked up a lot of the dev cost on games that would have died with the Dreamcast otherwise. It's why SEGA has always had a good relationship with Xbox even to this day.
>not major publishers
Yes, major publishers. Sega, capcom, Konami, you name it. Capcom in particular was in dire straits at the time which is why a lot of games they made were just asset flips like Capcom Fighting Jam because they couldn't really afford to make new games on ps2.
>they "forced them" precisely because they desperately need 3rd party sales to survive.
And the fact that they could do that isn't causing your neurons to fire up making you think "huh, Sony is pretty damn strict".
That's being manipulative and scummy you stupid troglodyte, which is drastically different from "blacklisting them and never let them release games on their platform".
Sega fricked themselves
Tell that to Sega
If it's actually based on one of the T234 chips it'll probably be around PS4 performance, maybe a bit weaker if they want to keep it in a small form factor and not kill the battery. I assume it'll use DLSS on everything and only have RT shit available when docked.
PS4 level when portable and around 2x stronger when docked.
And that's when just comparing Flop numbers while Ampere is much more advance architecture than GCN.
Like Xbox Series S with 4TF is better than Xbox One X with 6TF
If the DS couldn't nothing will
I think yes
all of this, without a single price cut in 6 years.
If Nintendo doesnt fumble it, they are gonna make sooo much fricking money out of branching out their IPs to Movie/ TV media
>According to Imdb
really? what the frick?
>really? what the frick?
what?
You'd think they have internal numbers or something from universal instead of relying on a wiki-like site.
Amazon owns imdb, imdb owns boxofficemojo.
Imagine the toy manufacturers that are going to be falling all over themselves to secure deals with Nintendo to produce merchandising for this shit
Nintendo already do toys and merchandising. thats not an issue or ground breaking stuff
Maybe they (or universal) dont want to release Universal's own fully internal numbers?
Why not? it's not like its some secret info, box office data is public. I don't understand why they had to cite an internet site for that.
>Why not? it's not like its some secret info, box office data is public
dont know, dont care tbh
Yeah but not nearly on the scale this IP expansion shit is going to demand. This is a whole new level of marchnadisong opportunity for Nintendo.
I think Nintendo will still be shy of that. Rapid expansion of a brand is a gamble it either is a sure hit or lots of missteps devalue the brand.
I don't think there's a surer bet in the world right now than Nintendo leveraging their IPs. Just fricking look at the numbers in this thread. Absolutely unheard of software sales in IPs that have been building their legacies for nearly four fricking decades.
I dread the day we get the zelda movie direct.
>I dread the day we get the zelda movie direct.
I feel Zelda would work better as a mini series.
A series would work but I'm worried they'll make it a movie.
A Zelda movie wouldn't work unless it's the wind waker trilogy.
If it's not a musical then they should kill all involved.
STABBING......... OCTOS.....
>GROWING UP...I SPENT HOURS OF MY LIFE...STABBING...OCTOS...IN THE ORGINAL ZELDA ARCADE GAME...AT MY LOCAL LAUNDROMAT...
BABY, BABY, BABY, OOOHHH
Only if those movies are in live action because normies don't watch cartoons.
Leave the animated films to Mario and Mario spin offs.
>Only if those movies are in live action because normies don't watch cartoons.
Black person wut? Unless you are confusing Animated with Cartoons
zelda will be utter garbage in modern times lvie action.
the only way to make it right was soul 80's hollywood fantasy and that shit is dead and gone. keep it cgi. all of nintendo ip's should be cgi or maybe 2d but 2d isn't as popular as cgi in movies
That will bring back Nintendo's kiddy stigma that they had since the SNES era.
Zelda (and their more mature IPs) need to be done in live action so Nintendo can be respected by the normies, otherwise it's back to the kiddy stigma.
Switch almost got rid of it, don't make it come back as it will be worse then it was during the SNES era.
>kiddy stigma
Who cares.
Those are older kids and young teens who are graduating from traditional cartoons like SpongeBob and Teen Titans Go and are moving into live action sitcoms.
Rick and Morty and Family Guy are the moving phase of this.
>Those are older kids and young teen
BS. The adult cartoons demographic is clearly millennials, not Zoomers.
The only cartoons millennials watch are ones made before 1967/1969, you're lucky to find any millennial who is willing to touch the first 2 seasons of Ren and Stimpy with said episodes being ditched to Carbuncle Cartoons.
This is strictly Zoomers and the Alpha generation.
Sound of Freedom made over $1 billion in profit.
Spiderverse only made $70 million and thats all overseas and edited as well.
Debunked.
>Sound of Freedom made over $1 billion in profit
Lmao look at the hater trying to downplay the success of the film. It's done 3 billion and one Klopman Diamond.
Look, im not trying to attack Jesus or whatever you believe here since I'm christian, but how on earth did sound of freedom grossed 1 billion worldwide? It only grossed 150 million on the us. There's no info about how much it made elsewhere, but normally movies don't make more than 5 times of what they did in the us. And even then it wouldn't reach 1 billion. Please don't lie.
Overseas ticket sales, also it made alot more then $150 million in the US.
Okay then, show me proof.
Sorry man, don't continue posting like this. What exactly are you trying to prove here?
Have some modesty.
Lol a billion in debt maybe, shit's not reaching 200mil at this rate while Spidey is 700 and going
>Those are older kids and young teens who are graduating from traditional cartoons like SpongeBob and Teen Titans Go and are moving into live action sitcoms
HA no. No one is watching live action TV anymore becuase it isn't entertaining since they keep it on the cheap and even when they get more adventurous with it they use cheap CG that takes you out of it.
Adults love animation. Just look at Rick and Morty and Family Guy.
>Normies don't watch cartoons
>When talking about a cartoon that became the 15th highest grossing film of all time
Those are all kids films, not adult targeted films.
HUGE difference.
Those Zelda sales. HAHAHA!
>Nintendo just had it's most profitable Q1 ever
Kek those expansion plans are chugging along smoothly I see
Do these threads serve any real purpose? Or are they yet another tendies gloat over sales “discussion”. If you gays don’t own Nintendo stock then this shouldn’t concern you in the slightest. The PS5 will outsell the shitch in the long run anyway.
>Do these threads serve any real purpose?
Yes, to make you seethe, Eric.
KEK try making it less obvious it's you Eric.
PS5 can't even keep up with PS4 sales which Switch already blasted through a while back.
You almost got through an entire post without giving yourself away with "Shitch" Eric, you were so close!
care to explain the mess you made last night
stop posting on Ganker and get back to stocking those walmart shelves
Famitsu thread today will be fun
Your meltdown yesterday was the most pathetic thing this board has ever seen, Eric.
He has so many meltdowns nowadays its kind of hard keeping track.
Yesterday was by far the worst. He samegayged all night. We’re talking about 300 replies.
If he's planning to shit up this thread, then he's probably not going to sleep any time soon as the Famitsu numbers drop in few hours, and I'm pretty sure he's not that thread.
Can a homie have a link to that thread?
Wanna laugh a bit before going to bed kek
See
I know nothing about bots, but can't you easily get one to do that?
Nope, he was solving the captcha manually.
I wonder whet the software sales comparison between Switch and PS5 is. I bet the gap is % wider than the hardware sales.
Do we really nintendo switch 2?
Zelda TotK sold a shit ton of copies, and isn't like the sales of nintendo switch are slowing down that much, so what gives?
I highly interested in Switch games getting a performance boost on Switch2.
I remember Nintendo said that the first games in a series to launch on the switch sell well, but then the second game to launch on the switch tend to sell less. If that's true, then a big reason is probably so they can release their games and not suffer that loss.
No, but a pro is common sense for a Nintendo handheld. Can't wait for proneververgays to join the minineverevergays.
Nintendo is doing well BECAUSE the rest of the industry doesn't know what it's doing
Any updates on individual software sales?
the Top 10 or the new Million sellers?
Either I guess but other anons are posting top 10, what are the new ones?
Updated top ten is:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 55.46 million
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 42.79 million
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 31.77 million
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 30.65 million
Super Mario Odyssey – 26.44 million
Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield – 25.92 million
Pokemon Scarlet / Pokemon Violet – 22.66 million
Super Mario Party – 19.39 million
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 18.51 million
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 16.17 million
>New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe 16.7 million
Crazy how a 2D Mario game that came out on the wii u still manages to outsell most first party Sony and Microsoft games. The profit margins for that release must have been insane.
imagine the profit margin for mk8d
I wonder if gen 9 will pass gen 8 before Switch 2.
wut you got it backwards. switch is already gen 9 switch 2 will be gen X
Ocho Deluxe to the moon
SMRPG is gonna be a lot bigger than people think, Mario brand is fricking bonkers right now
Zelda is bigger gamewise
No it isn't. Mario hasn't had a game since last year to even test that theory anyway.
BOTW is the first Zelda to ever outsell it's contemporary Mario title
will the new switch be backwards compatible?
there's no way it's not going to be, right??
unless they have a massive paradigm shift, then its locked to be backwards
>there's no way it's not going to be, right??
Think of it like this, if it's not backwards compatible they can sell switch games to you again. It's a coin flip imo.
they already pulled that shit with the Wii u because it sold no units, there's no way they can get away with selling ports for a system people actually bought
especially if it's actually similar to the switch
>they already pulled that shit with the Wii u
homie, you understand how native backwards work?
you moron I'm saying they only got away with selling Wii u ports on switch because no one bought a fricking Wii u
>no one bought a fricking Wii u
I did
we are the very few
And Nintendo knows they will make more money by incentivising people to invest in their Nintendo Accounts
Soft Sales
First 88.8%
Third 11.2%
From their report:
>Regarding the Nintendo Switch business during the first quarter (April through June 2023), The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (released in May) got off to a good start recording sales of 18.51 million units.
Understatement of the century, kek. "Oh yeah, it sold 18.5 millions in a month and a half, good start I guess."
There's a very good chance TOTK outsells BOTW before the end of this year
lmao
as much as a I love the shit out of old games.
No way they are dropping the "open world" motif
grim. they should do spin offs at least
>they should do spin offs at least
wait for the Peach game sales and maybe we will get a Zelda spin off with Zelda (or Reiju)
They will continue doing 2D zelda. Link's awakening remake sold well
If they make a traditional Zelda with an open world, it would be perfect. Imagine An open overworld half the size of BotW with traditional Zelda mechanics (Traditional dungeons, no durability, no shrines) It would sell more than BotW.
ok, Compromise. 3D Zelda stay open world
2D (eagle eye) Zelda remain "old school"
I miss top down Zeldas
Shrines were what made the open world thing work for me, the game you're describing would have a pretty boring open world.
>no shrines
Even the classic games have shrines. They just aren't called shrines.
Okay, I'll compromise. Keep shrines, but keep the number of shrines very low and have a mixture of caves and wells.
TotK had tons of caves. And many of them were pretty awesome.
The caves and wells were my favorite part if the game, which is why I want them back.
BotW used a Stasis launch on the chart.
TotK attached a rocket to it.
Sensible jej.
underrated
That's not even a roller coaster incline that's a fricking rocket launch angle
A billy copies year end confirmed, what the frick
Jesus frick, I just hope they make better dungeons next time
Holy shit that chart is fricking skyrocketing lmao
I don't know if I should feel happy or sad about that. Then again, it's not like Skyward Sword reviewed or sold badly, yet they still were able to see it's flaws.
I enjoyed totk but I hope there's room for a top down adventure here and there. 3d zelda is never going back but these games take forever so there's a window for old formula releases.
I didn't know somenone made an in game compilation, thanks anon.
You're welcome. I now want to see if the other 3D Zeldas can replicate that pic. Would be cool.
holy mackerel
Jesus
>that skyward sword flatline
lol
I'm actually quite interested to see how TotK pans out. Launch sales are ridiculous but people seem to be turning on it faster than they did with BotW
>but people seem to be turning on it faster than they did with BotW
You shouldn't use Ganker as a measure of public opinion.
>Launch sales are ridiculous but people seem to be turning on it faster than they did with BotW
This really isn't true. What you're observing is rather all the BotW hate (that never ceases or let up since BotW's time), transforming into TotK hate instead.
We're approaching straight line territory.
The king wins again.
now imagine when next year they cut the prices
switch $200
switch lite $150
switch OLED $250
>zeda open world will be the most iconic with their designs
>we'll continue getting open world shit
I mean I'm happy zelda is popular but frick
I want them to make/outsource original 2D Zeldas inbetween the big releases.
2d Zelda definitely isn't going to disappear, it's just a question of what they're going to do with it in the future.
EVERYDAY I'M SHUFFLIN
Imagine caring about investors numbers when you're a customer, none of you all receive any of Nintendo's revenue.
What should matter to you is that the games are good and when they aren't a sales failure (unlikely for Nintendo).. In everything else, talking about the numbers of already successful games is useless and a monumental waste of time, worthy of the most insufferable company cultism.
Mo money, mo games I like, end of and simple as
You won't ever receive any acknowledgment from any company involved in anything you ever discuss in these boards. But you do it for fun. Same here.
I will use my nintendo dividends to pay for the internet bill I use to shitpost about nintendo sales on Ganker and there is nothing you can do about it but cry
Based, have fun good anon, that's the point of my post
>You won't ever receive any acknowledgment from any company involved in anything you ever discuss in these boards. But you do it for fun.
the anon isn't discussing their revenues though but the games themselves, your post makes no sense.
If you must take it for something more directly benefitial, the better the games I like sell the more of them I can expect, and the better a prospect the console will appear to third parties to come invest on next gen.
I just like keeping an eye on industry sales in general. I'm also around whenever Sony and MS post their results. It's fun to follow.
It's company brand loyalty, it's on vague these days.
I don't give a shit about the revenue or profits of multi-million or billion companies as long as I don't work for them, that includes Sony or Microsoft.
then leave the thread 🙂
>enters thread about nintendo sales and revenue
>gets flustered at discussion of sales and revenue
>Nintendo doing well means that they’ll keep putting out the types of games that I enjoy. Most of the games that sold well were games that I bought and enjoyed playing, so I’m happy that they were successful. Why do snoys have such a hard time understanding this?
Because Snoys just change what they like based on whatever Sony releases with no regard to previous gens
If you don't like what a thread is about, just hide it homie.
I understand what you're saying but
>insufferable company cultism
You're on the wrong board if that annoys you anon, get out while you can
I own Nintendo stock.
Source..?
My portfolio
>and when they aren't a sales failure (unlikely for Nintendo)...
It's almost as if that's the purpose of these threads, to see what's popular and has a future and what doesn't.
NTA but then you ask to remove cod threads and others or say sales are not important when other non nintendo games sell more
>but then you ask to remove cod threads and others or say sales
Oh you're just shitposting.
Hate to break it to you but the only time sales threads have ever been a problem on this board is with Nintendo.
Capcom, Square, hell even with all the daily bragging threads from sonygays no one asked for them to be removed. As usual, it's never okay when Nintendo does it.
Tendies said MHW would flop and RE would die and they are still there
You said MH would NEVER EVER come out on a Nintendo console again, yet here we are.
But this is where you do the stupid thing and go
>BUT UR A TENDIEEEEE AND UR IN DEM!
Right?
Found the Snoy fan.
>Nintendo has a release gap for August and September
Probably Pokémon DLC will fill for one month. I'm not sure what other DLC there would be. It's probably just Pokémon carrying for them like usual.
September is technically the physical release for Pikmin 1+2.
FRICK THE SWITCH!
Don’t start, Eric. This thread plus the famitsu thread will end you.
It wouldn't be part of the million sellers obviously, but I assume there were no extended sales reports? Last time we actually had one. I wanted to know about Xenoblade 3, so we at least would've its complete sales for its 1-year anniversary.
White papers shouldn't take long
CESA will only have data for 2022, I think
Crazy how Xenoblade 2 still gets so much fan appreciation to this day.
best xeno game
>4 million in a quarter with a new zelda at the start
That's legit pathetic, I don't see this platform having much of a future in spite of nintendo insisting that it's their only platform for another 6 years.
Eric please, can you just wait till the Famitsu thread?
I'm not eric and it's still hours away, and those numbers are pathetic, how are they not pathetic, it should have done 6-8 million considering the software.
Go find me a console's Q1 that did better in its 7th year. I'll wait
switch is bucking most if not all trends, but it's foundering hard, expect it to drop for another year, nintendo won't be coming close to the ps2's lifetime, software isn't anywhere near close either.
Doesn't need to
So you couldn't bring shit is what you're saying
Are you just doing this so you can be le epic funny screencapped for a thread two years from now where you get btfo?
>Complete lack of software and no major titles
ToTK just came out, and a real Super Mario 2D sequel got announced, are you fricking high?
I'm talking about post release follow through which PS2 had in spades.

>PS2 had better sale followthrough than Nintendo titles
OHOHOHOH.
HAHAHA.
no fricking seriously, Mario Kart is double GTA SA at the moment.
You don't know shit about what the Switch release schedule will look like come the successor tho. The 3DS which was way deader than the Switch will ever be still managed to sell 10 million after the Switch was out.
Beating PS2 is a matter of when, not if.
I will make a bet then, I will actually buy a Switch if the post switch 2 lineup isn't the saddest joke I've seen with the exception of the wiiu.
Not the anon you're responding to, but even if it was, the Switch is well on its way to outsell the PS2 regardless. Add in a potential discount at long last and it's a no brainer.
>Add in a potential discount at long last and it's a no brainer.
Like I tell ya, 3DS sold 10 million after the Switch released. That's while being in an infinitely worse place than the Switch is at, and having already received its discounts. Not to mention we still have an entire year ahead at least, during which at least 15 mil are all but guaranteed. They have this in the bag
Stop trying to inflate numbers lol, the final official recorded number for PS2 was 155 million.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2_sales
15M short, and in the next few years it should cross the path no problem. Again if the 3DS managed 10M the Switch can do that no problem, especially if you discount the price as you mention
If Switch 2 has BC it could eat into Switch sales
In this hypothetical, the kinda customer who'd get a Switch this late into the game isn't gonna get a way more expensive Switch 2 just to have the benefit of the two in one. That thinking applies to the kinda fans that are gonna get the Switch 2 early regardless, not families who've been holding all this time waiting for a discount.
Considering you've never honored your previous bets, why should anyone take you up on this one?
I've never made a previous bet.
What part of I'm not eric do you not get, I don't even use the same signatures as him, and I'm not AC gay I don't even know what AC you are talking about, Astral Chain, Animal Crossing, I don't know, ffs you morons love to claim you know who I am but only one person has ever actually linked me to a single fricking post I made in the past that was actually mine.
Whatever you say. See you in a couple of hours.
No, I'm going to be asleep by then, because I'm, Australian.
What about you spread that goatse on Livestream with the words "Reggie's bawd" written on your butt.
That's not the wager I made.
c'mon, it will be fun.
The new 'ick on 'eck for a whole generation.
Nah, it has to be something that I will actually do, I can ask your mum for the pocket money to buy it with.
Lets not go that far, how about if he loses, he has to record himself singing Friday while wearing a hat that says "Cowboy butts drive me nuts!" and put it on YouTube.
>granting an iota of value to the opinion of "most Let'splay And Reaction Personality Expert Rated Speculators on Youtube"
man you were doing so well but this is just too on the nose. Anons will still bite the bait but trolling is an art and you shouldn't handle it so lazily
Japanese companies will continue to make Switch games, they aren't moving to ps5 or completely rely on PC anytime soon.
>switch won't have the same tail as the ps2 due to a complete lack of software, especially from third parties
The switch has more first and third party releases at this point in it's life than the ps1 did after 5 years.
You can't even begin to compare the quality of these lineups, Switch E-shop alone has over 9000 asset flip or low effort games made by totally legit indie studios that totally had passion behind their titles, You're legit worse than me with your dishonesty.
The Switch E-shop is that on fricking crack, you at least had good original releases like Monster Hunter, Metal Gear Solid 3/2, FFX, Silent Hill 2 etc. etc on PS2, on Switch you don't have a remotely comparable third party lineup, with Monster Hunter Rise being the only exception.
1st party > 3rd party
Especially in terms of what sells hardware
And nintendo will continue to have major first party titles after they replace the switch with the switch 2?
Nintendo, Nintendo, AA quality, AA quality.
That's besides the point.
>Nintendo, Nintendo
Platinum made and Sega owned. That's like saying sonic is the property of Nintendo because they have the most exclusive titles now.
>AA quality, AA quality.
So what you're saying is that you want AAA shovelware?
Sonic wasn't completely funded by Nintendo, unlike Bayonetta
That's not even remotely the same equivalence, nintendo didn't pay for those sonic games in their entirety, and nintendo doesn't outright now those sonic games, it's just not the same thing
The whole point about AA vs AAA is that MGS2 was Konami putting their best staff on a PS2 only game, those switch titles are those companies putting their e team and minimal resources into a switch title, that's why I only cite Rise since it's literally the only game by a third party made for switch first where a company put up their A game.
>is that MGS2 was Konami putting their best staff on a PS2 only game
>Platinum made
true. but it's nintendo funded. there would be no 2 and 3 if nintendo didn't fund these
>Desperately ignores the major releases like Bayonetta 3 and Origins, SMTV, Rain Code, and the whole slew of Square Enix RPGs.
Seethe harder snoy.
Third party or first party who even gives a shit good games are good games regardless of what company logo is on the box
T-that d-doesn't c-count!!! But this does.
The PS1 and PS2 were also the designated shovelware shitting streets of the day by virtue of being the best selling consoles at the time, if you weren't aware.
You think they even remotely compare to the Switch? the Switch e-shop has more absolute shovelware title as in not even the up to the same quality as the simple series than the PS2 has games.
Cry
Okay? I mean I didn't even take shovelware titles into account but even then the switch hasn't hit the same lows as the ps2.
https://www.nintendo.com/search/#cat=gme&f=softwarePublisher&softwarePublisher=Mindscape
Anon, these are still actual games with assets that they made sold at next to nothing.
This is a screen cap of a poorly animated movie on a gradient background with no music whatsoever sold at full price.
You're only proving the point that the ps2 had lower lows but also didn't reach as high.
PS2 is 20+ years old it's shit has long since risen to the top for all to see, and it's much easier to find the switch is less than half of that we haven't seen it's lows and it's swamp is seemingly endless, the switch has more games of that quality than the PS2 has games at all, there's probably more shitty zero effort literal asset swap games on switch than console games launched for the entire 6th generation of videogame hardware, the library is nearly 5k games at this point but discussions online tend to be about less than 100 of them.
>we haven't seen it's lows and it's swamp is seemingly endless,
We have, not even the cheapest games get as bad those ps2 games. In fact let me search the eshop a moment.
>actually going on the eshop
What the frick is wrong with you?
What, you think I just say things without researching them like you do?
The only research you do is finding things to push the narrative that the claims you make are true, but we all know they are completely false, you live in an alternative reality where the E-shop is like browsing an eternal 1998 top releases list and the switch actually has more than it's Nintendo published titles and that small handful of worthwile low effort third party titles.
>The only research you do is finding things to push the narrative that the claims you make are true, but we all know they are completely false
Wut.
Anon if I find evidence proving the claim true then it's clearly not false.
You didn't prove anything though, you posted the small fragment of the absolute worst of the PS2's library and then claim that that's basically the entire thing, and then I post a small smattering of shit from just a single publisher on switch which makes up something close to 95% of the switchs library and you claim that it's completely false, you're just making shit up and you basically ruined this entire thread. Everyone knows that the PS2 library is better than the switch's ,there's no debate to be had here either, unless you live in your sub board nintendo echo chamber.
>you posted the small fragment of the absolute worst of the PS2's library
Okay? The point is to show that the worst the switch has to offer doesn't hold a candle to how bad the worst ps2 games are.
I don't think you understand what's happening here.
>the low point is the majority
>i absolutely went through and posted the worst of the switch
Full of shit on every single level you are.
>>the low point is the majority
We aren't talking about the majority, it never came up until you realised the switch didn't have games as bad as ps2.
Anyway, this is currently the cheapest game on the eshop and it's a fully 3d escape room game. It might be shit but it's not nearly as bad as animal soccer World.
>and then I post a small smattering of shit from just a single publisher on switch which makes up something close to 95% of the switchs library
So what, when people post a game that makes up 98% of the ps2 library that's not fair? And you were in a conversation about how bad the games can get on ps2 not how much there was, of course you're going to get more on switch because digital games allow for more games to come to a system, but that doesn't mean they're worse.
Both systems havr shitton of godawful shovelware. End of story
>but it's foundering hard,
Not really, it's having a gradual decline but is still chugging along nicely.
I disagree
I’m legit concerned about his health at this point. He didn’t get any sleep last night with his legendary meltdown. Today we have this thread and later the famitsu thread which will reach 400 replies in an hour.
We should send him a get well card. I know he's pretty jelly that Nintendo got one and always brings it up (even though Kojima and Gaben got one too).
How bad will Eric’s meltdown be during the famitsu threads? I’m expecting FF16’s numbers will be brutal. That game has absolutely no legs.
Knowing full well I'm probably going to be called Eric, it'll probably still be in the top ten so long as nothing new came out this week. Although console homosexualry makes me just read the ops and move on so I have to ask, is being in the top ten not good enough for games there? I'm just morbidly curious
>I’m expecting FF16’s numbers will be brutal
I'm expecting we won't know as it won't be in top 10
>Switch first year
>new zelda
>new mario
>mario kart
>switch (last) this year
>new zelda
>new mario
>mario kart doubling in content
I'm pretty sure that Mario Wonder will be the Switch swan's song. Thoughts? Any game releasing in the next years is just games that were already in development for the Switch, september direct will prove it.
>he thinks we're anywhere near the switch's last year
We'd be lucky to even get an official word about the switch 2 next year, a replacement won't come until late 2026+
Sounds about right, Peach's game could be released on both and Prime 4 (lol) will be on the next one, if it ever comes out.
I believe Prime 4 will be Switch 2's launch title at this point, It will be just like BoTW.
>until late 2026+
>4 years from now
lifespan up to a whole decade
Right.
if Mario can have 2d and 3d games so can Zelda!
Today I will remind them
>every single notable upcoming first party Switch title is either a Mario or Pokemon game
You can tell that the Switch is on its last legs and we're getting a successor here soon because the 3DS did the exact same shit
It even has a Luigi's Mansion remaster coming up
>You can tell that the Switch is on its last legs and we're getting a successor here soon because the 3DS did the exact same shit
And so did 2020 but here we are 3 years later
The supposed Switch Pro was canceled at the time due to the obvious chips shortage
And the Switch 2 is imminent because there are already devkits rolling around and literally since last year Nvidia leak the SoC of the console in its database
>The supposed Switch Pro was canceled at the time due to the obvious chips shortage
The Switch Pro was never real.
That's why I said supposed
>And the Switch 2 is imminent because there are already devkits rolling around
We haven't seen or heard of devkits yet anon.
All we have right now are rumors.
How was the meltdown?
Nintendo fans aren't taking the failure very well.
>TOTK less than 2 mil units away from beating Elden Ring's lifetime sales
Fromsloppers btfo
we're never getting a good zelda game again
There there anon. Remakes will continue being a thing. Old format might live through 2D Zelda too
the only people i have ever seen with a switch are under the age of 14
You don't go out of the house much often eh?
>my annecfotal evidence its sure to beat Nintendo official reports
Eric please, its only 4 more hours till Famitsu. get a hold of your life
I know like 7 people over the age of 34 who own switches for themselves and not their kids
>6 quarters left till the supposed switch 2
>One of them being the holidays
>still have not done one price cut in 6 years
You are delusional to think this wont outsell the ps2 by next year holidays.
If they don't do price cut, they are the most moronic company in the world. Sony dropped ps2's price to like 140 dollars by December of 2006, obviously that helped with the sales. Nintendo would achieve unexplainable things if they made a price cut.
Hmmmm...
>6 quarters
More like 3 actually
leaker trannies might be correct that devkits are out there but you have to be extremely moronic to believe that nintendo will officially announce new hardware (next gen not fricking themed ones moron who pretends to be a smartass) before the upcoming holiday season. Shit sells like this in its 7th year and you are insisting that they will jeopardize their biggest quarter (every year) just so muh pixelz and graphix trannies like you can dream of dilating with the new joycons? yeah no
>god of war 2 ltd sales 11million
>elden ring ltd sales 20 million
>Totk in a bit less than 2 months 18.5 million
Lol lmao
Yes, this is scary. And it's only on one console. Obviously the sales will be lower at the end against elden ring, BUT ITS BECAUSE IT ONLY RELEASED IN ONE CONSOLE. it's insane
ER only has like 20 million copies sold total. TotK will likely overtake it by the end of the year.
Not to mention the price
Remember that no publisher or developer gets close the pedigree and Sales Nintendo have
how are the kirby game numbers looking?
Why is Nintendo still ahead? Why is the Switch shitting on the PS5/Series X? Famicom thread when?
Because MS and Sony basically abandoned the family market. It's part of why Philly Cheesesteak wanted ABK, they've got IPs basically rotting in a corner that Xbox could use to that end.
If they did they wouldn't be making media machines
Super Mario Wonder will have a better opening than TOTK.
lol I'll be enjoying the meltdowns if/when that happens.
Why do people celebrate this things fricking "success" so much?
cause unlike ponies, we enjoy it, we dont celebrate it success for company wanking.
The wii u hit the nintenbros hard and the death of iwata strengthened their resolve
Because it's a giant about face from the failure that was the Wii U.
I have a bunch of NTDOY stonks
why do weebs and furries have so much disposable income, I bet you have all of the xenoblade figures and artbooks
Because they actually have jobs to pay for their lifestyles?
So it's a lifestyle choice now you worm ridden diseased homosexual huh?
Well yeah, you have to choose to have a job.
You know what I meant you disingenuous fudge packer.
Furries all work in tech or have patreons where they make 100k a year doing one drawing a month.
They work in tech and have no children since they're gays. Tech job and no kids = $$$
SSI/SSDI, strictly.
Not even close.
so furries work in tech
weebs get autismbux
good to know
No, just SSI/SSDI.
Because the industry direction the Switch represents is incredible compared to what we've had.
And the Switch has been a significant component in the revitalisation of the AA sphere of videogames. Which is desperately needed in this era of AAA driving towards their doom and GAAS garbage trying to infect the medium.
Except Mario Kart 8 has more DLC than the majority of games as does Pokemon
Pokemon's not really equivalent, all they did was stop making third versions and made them downloads instead.
>Except Mario Kart 8 has more DLC than the majority of games as does Pokemon
And?
Yeah they totally wouldn't nickle and dime playe-
Are you being moronic on purpose?
How many Nintendo games have Smash style DLC?
Oh not a single one outside of Smash? I see.
I'd take literal nickle and dimeing over figurative nickle and dimeing.
Cosmetics like these would have been priced at least 5 dollars in any other game.
homie, those are fricking costumes.
And how many other fighting games gave you
>a character
>a stage
>new music
>new side content
In a single purchase? It's just smash you look at something like Tekken or DBZF and all you get is the character, everything else is an individual purchase.
>DBZF anime music pack: $14.99
>11 pieces of music
>Terry in smash : $5.99
>character
>stage
>FIFTY PIECES OF MUSIC INCLUDING A REMIX
If that's what this anon considers nickel and dimeing then I want more of it.
I like most of the direction nintendo took with their games on the switch era so I'm happy that they will follow in more of it. I do think that they could make their UI less sterile but I like that the menus outside of the e-shop are fast so I hope they find a good middle ground on the next one
I fricking hate Nintendo and even I have two Switches.
