Yes. I know everyone here likes to make fun of "it's the REAL RE3!!'', but it's true.
It has some dumb, irritating stuff in it, but I find the experience more enjoyable than frustrating.
And please, don't leave the fire extinguisher in the security box early in the game, carry that bastard with you and safely deposit it in the item box, without it you can't get the magnum and the AK, which basically means you will have a MUCH harder time beating the game

Code Veronica fricking sucks. Parasite Eve 1 is interactive movie Squareshit. PE2 is the RE 1.5 we never got (for better or for worse).

RE4 is certainly an infinitely better game than CV. But that's not saying much.
You're comparing apples to oranges. Anyway when I first played CV back in the early 2000s I hated it but with time I learned to enjoy it, I would say CV is an acquired taste. Try the Dreamcast version too if you get the chance, it's only small details yet that game has extra Soul.
