This is the trailer a couple years back that sold the game when Game Freak released their current pokemon slop

Its almost like pokemon and Digimon hit a winning formula and built that market up for decades with customers eventually aging out of Nintendo properties but when a game that had the right production level at a reasonable price on different media formats at a reasonable price along with being released in the middle of a release drought led to people giving that new product a try.
Digimon didn't hit a winning formula, they've been floundering ever since the tomogatchi craze died. Every few years they try to revive the series with a new game with wildly different gameplay and they all flop. The one exception was the cybersleuth games, which were essentially ripping off Shin Megami Tensei games (or pokemon to laymen)
I've literally never heard of Palworld until yesterday or the day before and I follow multiple channels relating to game releases.
I remember seeing trailer for the game in at least three big "Gaming Shows" in the past two years.

To be fair I'm mostly on my PS5 and this game isn't on there, but still I know of Xbox exclusives and yet I have zero recollection of seeing this game. I've seen far less popular games that I can at least recognise in some way. This one might as well have appeared for the first time a few days ago.
I played it for about 15 minutes and it felt really unpolished, and wasn't running at 60fps. seems like any generic survival game
