It's fake. Why would Microsoft stoop to the level of putting their masterpieces on children's toys? The Piss Station cannot the girth and power of Activision and Blizzard's games. The Nintendie b***h would blue screen if it attempted to run anything other than an Atari 2600 game.

The original Sloth Tweet was false rumor, it was already deleted. Please don't try to run it again.

With that said it is very likely it will happen in some form.

Who is that actual trusted leaker? I'm asking because no link anywhere as usual. Both Sloth and Ovo deleted their tweets

          Jez Corden

Peter Ovo is a moron, but I don't blame him for being shocked that Microsoft would sacrifice the brand for short term profits.

If Microsoft had any brains left they would go PC only, make a fullscreen UI for games for Windows, pivot the Xbox brand from a game console to a Deck-like Windows-based console with a dock like the Switch for couch gaming.

But they're obsessed with muh Game Pass.

Phil's comment that great games don't matter shows how little Microsoft understands gaming. BOTW saved Nintendo and Uncharted saved ps3, why couldn't a killer app do the same for Xbox.

    >Microsoft knows that it's far more profitable to sell the ephemeral concept of 'software' to third parties than it is to dig up resources and tool up a factory to put out a finite production run of 'products'
    >Idiots: WHY WOULD MICROSOFT GET OUT OF THE COSTLY HARDWARE BUSINESS AND ONLY SELL IMMENSELY PROFITABLE SOFTWARE AND LIVE SERVICES

Microsoft made 2 trillion dollars by selling 1s and 0s, not by making computers

what i'm seeing here is that they wanted to hold TES6 hostage and force everyone to either build a windows PC or get an Xbox, and vastly overestimated the level of hype for TES6.

They will now release it on Snoy and Steam Deck because they cannot pass up all the money

No. Not just no, frick no. The whole point of PC gaming is not being a console.

Steam big picture mode is shit.

I dont understand the twitter user's melty over this. If nobody is buying XBox games because they play on PS or Steam, it makes more sense to expand the number of copies they can sell to people than just limit them to Steam and Gamepass users

Seems like a good strategy if they force sony to accept their ports in exchange for access to IPs that they do want on the console (e.g., COD, Elder Scrolls). If they wanted to really frick over the japs, they'd strike an exclusive deal with Steam to host their services on xbox.

M$ and Sony are both entering their Sega phase.
While it seems M$ have accepted it.
Sony will likely refuse for a few more years.

They have realized theres not enough time on civil society to play this long tail game of ‘we will make a profit in 2027 eventually!’

So off to the races they go trying to make money on nintendo/sony platforms

Xbox game pass was their big leverage but it failed to force concessions out of nintendo/sony. Unlikely it ever will

Starfield was the final nail in the coffin for phil spencer and the flopbox

Its nadella now in the drivers seat. Looks like his first executive decision was to flush xbox down the toilet

Honestly i dont blame him. Sunk cost fallacy is called a fallacy for a reason. If they havent been able for xbox to turn a profit in 23 years, theyre not going to do it in another 3 years

Xbox was flushed down the toilet when they did the always online bullshit.

This is indeed confusing -- if you don't realize that "Xbox" is not just the console anymore, it is a label for all of Microsoft gaming. Which is stupid in my opinion, but that's what it is.
