I gotta say, you're wrong. I played doom as a little kid so i have nostalgia for it. But coming back to halo 1 and doing 2v2 with friends over the break a few months ago was incredible. It just feels really solid and it holds up well. Even just playing on hang em high, which after having learned how to make maps i just realized somebody put a bunch of objects in the floor and called it a day, feels great.

its not 9/10 game. 7/10 out of best. the entire 2nd half of halo 1 is 2 copy pasted rooms connected over and over again lol, and the weapon lineup feels like its missing 1-2 guns
if you can name a game that reviewed well and has at least 10k fans, it will get a remake
I wouldn't be surprised if the devs making the new Perfect Dark make a remake just so they can train up junior devs there and/or get people warmed up
It's weird, but I very clearly remember hearing that line and thinking it was weird he said "asshume"
Now of course I know that's a dead giveaway that it's a brit imitating an American accent
Metroid Prime is barely an FPS, also it suffers from horrible pacing and shit combat.
Perfect dark was outdated even at release.
Halo is good but has some parts that drag out for way too long, if you removed ~40% of the game you would end up with a better game. None of them really deserve a perfect score but Best Ever is all about context and not intrinsic qualities.
I played Perfect Dark for the first time recently, with keyboard and mouse controls, and while I completely understand if you feel it should only be ranked by it's N64 controls, I do think it's one of the best FPSes out there if you aren't hung up on them.
Goldeneye, while also very fun, has what feels to be more limited weapon variety, and less intricate levels. Perfect Dark feels like the jump from Wolfenstein 3D to Doom, less when it comes to the engine and more from how the design is evolved.
PD dabs on modern FPSes. All the guns having a secondary mode like turning a machine gun into a grenade launcher? If any modern shooters do that, I bet they lock that behind some bullshit skill tree. IDK, I haven't played one since the early 2010s since everyone was trying to imitate CoD. Plus the variety of gadgets, objectives, modes of play, etc. there's a ton to do in that game. It still holds up.
Halo is extremely overrated and only gets pass because it's babby's first FPS, og Doomgays will stand by this
>this meme is regurgitated over and over
Just like your idiotic little brother who parrots whatever was on tv or current trend on tiktok.
Dry up your tears, little b***h boy.
good morning sir

diIate
Cope contrarian
100% accurate
Halo has some of the worst interior level design I've ever seen in a FPS
Used to be a time when Halo threads were laughed out of Ganker, then the tourists came and it's never been the same since.
Oh wow, a bunch of casual console fps. Big surprise.
>a pcshitter doodoos in his diaper
A tale as old as time.
I think we can all agree that perfect dark is more than deserving of that score yes
Halo is the only undeserving one, Perfect Dark should be at a 98. Metroid Prime's backtracking holds it back from being GOAT
>journalists are bad at the one genre that requires skill
Whoa...
If only it had gyro on PS4.
I love Perfect Dark so much
I hope they never remake it
I hope the "AAAA" reboot gets canned.
Me too

Metroid Prime is the only one there that deserves it, Halo has always been overrated shite
Perfect Dark really didn't deserve it.
You b***h!
I ashume you have some evidence?

Perfect Dark literally blew every other game at the time out of the water aside from SoulCalibur and Ocarina of Time
Maybe if you limit your scope to consoles.
List the PC games, cuckboy. You PCgays always do this and then never list shit.
>Perfect Dark literally blew every other game at the time out of the water
What made it better than GoldenEye

>console FPSes
hmm
They're all playable on PC. Go play them and try something different from your Quake knockoffs.
Man I love all three of these so much. What a great period of video games was the TEN YEAR period between tomb raider and gears of war.
>play MPRemaster last year
>blows everything in the past decade easily out of the water
We didn't know just how good we had it.
Woah, all three has women as main characters
way to go, shooter sisters!
Half Life and its sequel are just a point lower
