The UK rally in CMR 2.0 fricking sucks. The car doesn't grip at all to the road and you end up going off all the time.

The only courses that played like that are the ones where you drive to and from the castle across a bunch of dirt roads, at least in my experience.
The rest of that rally, like the forest tracks, isn't that much harder than Italy.

Not to mention the textures used for actual drivable road blend with the textures used on the ridges/curbs on both sides of the track. These ridges severely slow down your car if you touch them, so good fricking luck nailing those apexes on gravel and snow when everything looks identical

Literally play both side by side and see for yourself. Sega Rally is a less complex game. It has only three road surface types, only four speed transmission and the slides are very easy to control and correct. Dirt Dash beats Sega Rally in these and also adds some cool obstacles like broken bridges, fallen trees and bolders, while the slides are much difficult to control when you use the red Celica-looking car. There is also an easy car which controls more like Sega Rally.

Sega Rally is cool though. It just is outdone by some other rally games that it has inspired.

F1 is an awful example for fighting since the cars vary so much and break if you look at them wrong. It’s just the kind of driving I find extremely dull.
I like small tracks and series like Clios and Mazdas, but they’re boring as shit in iRacing because the penalty system is too strict for even minor bumping and paint-trading… not to mention everyone being afraid of doing so because the netcode can decide to send you to moon or frick up your car while the other party might barely feel a bump. I’d love wet races but the netcode can barely handle collisions as it currently is.
I would kill for a proper '90s BTCC game with decent online support and "historically accurate" rules. You have to join niche tournaments now for something similiar.
