Did the devs remove the shitty durability, crafting, and resource collection while also adding a dedicated jump button, unfricking the loot table drops, and fixing the crucible into not being shit?
Why are you even using a chinese website if you hate them so much? And one of the most watched videos is apparently not even related to the game. The absolute state, you seriously need to take your meds. >most popular video is only 100k
>Why are you even using a chinese website if you hate them so much?
that sums up Ganker perfectly, you see gays posting images of stuff they supposedly hate but why do they have that shit saved on their computer in the first place is beyond me, pure mental illness
is that from this thread's game or from some shit like diablo 3 or 4, because all these new game's UI and huds look the same so i can't even know what game is that
All you're doing is showing us that the game is more popular in the west. You've failed at the one job you had. And you specifically went to a website you despise and looked up something specific, only to get mad when it showed you what you were looking for. You completely ignored how almost every single post on the steam forums is in English, a fact you disputed earlier.

Okay, I am sorry for my transgressions towards you. I apologize deeply and will delete my inflammatory posts so that you may get back to discussing No Rest For the Wicked.
I was using the greatsword of the first boss, baiting enemies attacks to finish them off with a charge attack, I was struggling even against rats. Changed to a dex weapon, just a dagger and HOLY SHIT it's a totally different game so much better and fun specially with a bow as your secondary. They really need to work on bigger sword, there's no incentive for you to use them.
The starter 2H weapon is weaker and 3x slower than simply going bare-fist. Such dumb balancing lol. Would take 5 minutes to change up some numbers but hey it's EA so you can't criticize the game without getting pitchforked at.
Should I buy it? I fricking hate early access but what little I played in the pirated version it was fun but keeping a pirated copy updated is such a pain in the ass especially a game getting regular updates like this one. I just wish there was more content in the game right now so I could feel more comfortable buying it but from what I understand it's only act 1.
>Should I buy it
It's 15 hours long. If you want to participate in the early access and support the game then buy it, as the more input there is the better the game will be, and since you seem to enjoy the game I'd assume you'd want the end product to be as good as possible. If you don't care then don't buy it. I think looking at EA as some live service drip feed of content is wrong. I am playing it because I am interested in the games development and find what is already present to be enjoyable.
it might be good but nowhere near worth $40 rn, and some of its systems get repetitive fast. also the performance upgrades were overall good for most PCs but some people said it made it unplayable stuttering
its really better just to wait, the game is kinda shabby rn but has a chance to get way better over time
You can press the attack button while shimmying and your character will tap against the wall which will attract enemies if you want to go for a sneaky backstab.
there's like 2 or 3 places in the entire game where you need to use it to get to a chest or a shiny and not like you even need those since all loot is random and you ain't missing much with a single chest, I don't know why they felt the need to make every wall and door huggable, especially since it interferes with door opening as well.
oh and there's a fricking knock on the wall as well, this is probably the most worthless stealth element in an action game I've ever seen.
Oh shit, i see it now.
Basically i completely memory-holed the concept of shimmying across a ledge and completely disassociated wall hug with that and just saw it as an (useless) stealth feature
I pirated it and it runs smooth on my ryzen 9 7950x and 4070TI super. no idea what you are complaining about
some places run much worse
ex day + raining sacrament has way less framerate than nighttime sacrament
i started thinking i was constant 120fps on my 4070 but theres some recurring situations that drop me to 60. The first time you talk to the madrigal dropped me to sub 30
In a previous thread that's sadly not even archived anymore I claimed that it's very obvious many of the negative comments online were by Chinese bots and/or (paid) haters due to them being so entrenched in an anti-West culture war. What made it obvious is that many of the written comments were so obviously badly translated that any moron should be able to notice. Some anon said I'm coping and just inventing stuff. Pic related is what the game director of Wicked and boss of Moon Studios tweeted today. You guys gotta keep your eyes open and be vigilant when it comes to Chinese propaganda attempting to shit on Western works. It's not a conspiracy theory. It's CCP policy to to create an aura of negativity online against Western media and works of all kind.
If you think saying the game has shit performance is chink propaganda you're as mentally ill as the idiot earlier who tried saying only the chinks like the game, assuming you aren't also him. Also even japs and asiatics think the game is bad because theirs is also mixed, blaming the Chinese is laughably moronic. I'd sooner look at an Asian review for legitimacy than an English one because they aren't as lenient. It reminds me of total war warhammer 3 where both positive and negative reviews were all saying the exact same thing
>performance >tools break resource nodes in 3 hits, 1 if you use iron tools >durability up
Good shit. When you can craft from chests instead of needing to run back and forth it'll be worth doing another playthrough
Not him but I was only able to get silver tools (only the axe) from loot drops because the game never gave me clay so I couldn't upgrade any buildings to the next tier to buy them or make them.
you farm clay in a new realm by digging every shovel spot then killing boss, checking shop, sleeping, checking shop again and maybe doing war room bounty for one more ichor. takes like 10mins per run, nets 5-10 clay. yeah it's moronic but that's how you're getting clay.
By ""patching"" the performance they heavily downgraded the graphics even on highest settings. Draw distance fricked, AO fricked, shadows fricked, no more rain water dripping from walls. Going from Hotfix 1 to Hotfix 3 is like E3 vs actual product. But hey look we have 10 more frames now.
And at the very core the game is very exploitable. Dying is not punishing at all. Repairing is dirt cheap. You lose nothing by teleporting back to Sacrament. The only difficulty comes from using weapons that are either super slow or have no gap closers. Dual daggers and single handed swords are absolutely busted. >gotta engage in Ganker threads because these fricking buildings take 4 hours to repair
I hecking love MMO-lite mechanics.
Yeah, the game just isn't good, I don't get how people's standards are so low. The game is full of stupid time wasting mechanics like the shitty crafting and resource gathering. The settlement management also feels tacked on, and the dumbest part is upgrading it takes real time hours to complete. The balancing is completely fricked, dying feels meaningless because it basically does nothing, fast traveling feels unnecessarily cumbersome, and the loot tables are shit. >b-but it's early access!
This defense was never good and I don't know why I see people even bring this up like it's a valid argument.
But repairing is cheap, and laughably easy to do. It costs almost no money, and even if you ran out of money somehow you could just make free items to sell for money for repairs. It make same wonder why there's even a durability system to begin with since the whole system feels like an afterthought. It's like the dev just took whatever shitty mechanic they could think of from other popular game sand slapped it in just because they felt like it, not because it made any sense.
Nah. serious. they downgraded every effect and its draw distance. It can be easily compared with a fresh character on the shore before the Day/Night cycle kicks in.
Holy shit, i want to set back my game a few versions and check this out for myself cause i already upgraded. ill try to pirate the first release
The first release and hotfix 1 are both good. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to load your later-version savegame and that the game will override it if you don't back up the Moon Studios folder in LocalLow.
Yeah, the game just isn't good, I don't get how people's standards are so low. The game is full of stupid time wasting mechanics like the shitty crafting and resource gathering. I think the game is lame but i dont know why you guys arent complaining about the actual biggest problems >dodge spam combat with iframes >extremely boring stats on everything >basically every supporting aspect, ranging from Sacrament to the responsive world, was overhyped and then underdelivered
Because I was focusing mostly on the macro, not the micro. Yeah, the world fricking blows. Stats suck and the world feels functionally sterile. The crucible is also terribly designed.
>the world feels functionally sterile.
they said it was gonna be some ultra responsive thing but >sure it evolves after you clear the tutorial >now theres enemies in X, Y and Z locations
sewers >now theres suddenly sewer enemies in X, Y and Z locations
mines >now theres suddenly mines enemies in X, Y and Z locations
And the safe areas mostly just remain safe forever. nothing really changes on the day-to-day. I know i will see two enemies on that bridge in mariner's keep as my first encounter if i run straight out of sacrament, i will never not see two enemies there, i will never see any enemies earlier, and i will always see 3~ more just past that bridge. And then when i rush to the whisper by the shore, there will always be 3 enemies beneath it.
theres just no sense of natural world progression. skyrim-tier loot progression and distribution
>stats suck
its literally just a clone of souls stats if you take absolutely everything interesting about them & make weapons never have inherent status effects that do something relevant instead of more direct damage. literally the exact same names lmao
Nah. serious. they downgraded every effect and its draw distance. It can be easily compared with a fresh character on the shore before the Day/Night cycle kicks in.
[...]
The first release and hotfix 1 are both good. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to load your later-version savegame and that the game will override it if you don't back up the Moon Studios folder in LocalLow.
im aware
If you could get a comparison clip of it, that would be fricking great
>if you take absolutely
**take away
point being, holy shit these stats are boring
They are also fundamentally aimless in a lot of ways. you can have tons of self buffs and supportive spells without touching faith, you can have tons of projectiles and magic dps without int, you can have huge slow weapons without strenght... None of them have an actual playstyle attached, all stat scaling choices have everything
It's actually less intuitive than souls stats. In souls you could boost a stat with two-handing, And even then you would still 'use' the weapon but really poorly. That doesn't happen here, and weapons are both level locked and stat locked.
Then give them your feedback and suggestions. They are very active and receptive to player input on their forum and discord. That's what early access is for.
I got to the city and I'm kinda overwhelmed and surprised by how big it is. There's so much to explore in it, I feel like to the point that's gonna be annoying trying to traverse from a vendor to your home and vice versa.
its going to feel smaller after you get more used to it, but yeah its a cool place
The point is that the devs only wanted to have 1 significant city instead of many towns so the player grows attached to it
Yeah I do love the aspect that you're helping to repair the city by giving the builder materials.
Really did not expect that in a souls like game like this when like 3 hours ago I was playing like it's a traditional soulslike
They just hit us with another update. Gotta redownload whole thing again because they replace all the main files with completely new ones. They can't create xdelta patches like normal human beings ...
i used to think so, but the novelty went down fast after a while
most (not all) npcs are lifeless, the service npcs are just substitutes for menus, nothing dynamic happens
I meant in terms of presentation (architecture, design, etc).
Of course it won't match the NPCs lifecycle of something like the Witcher 3.
I think they did a fantastic job with how they implemented the verticality of it without it feeling artificial.
Also, the main square floor depicts the entire island with several towns/locations marked on it, Sacrament being the red one.
>I think they did a fantastic job with how they implemented the verticality of it without it feeling artificial.
The verticality seems to apply to the rest of the map as well which I really enjoyed (apart from when the camera becomes a nuissance).
>Also, the main square floor depicts the entire island with several towns/locations marked on it, Sacrament being the red one.
That's actually pretty cool, I never bothered to look.
They're way too weak for how slow they all are and how little poise damage they do.
I found the claymore very strong for early game compared to other weapons, it got superseded quickly though
However, the secret with big weapons is that they massively increase the size and multihit potential of rune skills such as Fire Throw. Any weapon can have any sort of spell
remember you have 2-3 weapon slots, so you dont have to suffer with the limitations of large weapons to actually get the good stuff from them
>you're a doomguy and people literally quake in their boots around you because your tribe is known for fricking shit up and drinking monster blood >certain NPCs imply your bloodline alone is enough to become a noble in some parts of the world >most political entities screech about your presence on the island because you're like an apocalypse engine slowly trudging around and making them all look like a bunch of angry kittens
The story concept is really fricking cool
You landed right in a middle of an ongoing political clusterfrick and all power holders hate your guts because there's no telling what to expect from you.
it felt a bit cheap in a few manners due to how youre basically a random guy with no actual perceptible features, yet everyone magically knows
And in general it doesnt feel like the character demonstrates actual organic power. Its not like something such as a Witcher
The Cerim's power is literally that they can't be killed, they just will themselves back to life. That and a few other things like we can assume they have biological advantages, the Iona Bloom doesn't kill them for instance.
>should we make strength increase your equipment load as well as your poise and physical damage? >No lol, just make equipment load its own stat >what about dex, should it boost stamina too? >no lmao make it a separate stat
Nice job, devs.
>we are going to copy souls stats >where every weapon has the exact same scaling rate >except stats dont have their own identity and it just declares what weapons you arbitrarily can or cant use regardless of playstyle >and none of the damage stats do anything except boost the damage of weapons >and the level requirements are literally just consistent across "tiers" with no real variance >and theres number bloat so we either add a lazy respec or its fricked for the long term >and theres no alternative beyond focusing on direct damage and everything just builds more direct damage, so changing your scaling mid playthrough is just shafting yourself >and theres no way to even slightly alter the scaling of a weapon
I have never seen such a poor job at ripping off someone's system. Its not even just a bad execution thing, its a "completely ignoring everything that was good about the system" thing
NRFTW could have been a so much better game if it tried to innovate more and not just rip off other systems poorly. Everything it has of generic and formulaic or copied are by far the weakest elements of the game, everything it has of its own doing is by far one of the best elements of the game.
story isnt interesting
music is bland
resource gathering is tedious
enemy respawns are too predictable
movement is sometimes frustrating, precision jumps and climbing are finnicky
It's the most unique and fun feature from Souls games and I wish more games had it. Duel arenas and other separate PvP modes get boring quick, but invading or being invaded in countless different scenarios throughout the entirety of the game never gets old.
gankspanking is great fun though, and even in the old souls games you still run into random co-opers more often than dedicated ganks.
2 or 3 pve plebs is barely an even matchup for one decent pvp player on a real build, and even actual gankers almost always fricking suck, because it gets extremely boring really fast for anyone even half decent.
and Fromsoft despite inventing the mechanic only ever shits out the bare minimum half assed implementation possible, maybe a western dev could do the basic obvious shit like randomized invasion cooldown timers and functional covenants and alternate invasion win conditions and shit. It's so easy to come up with ideas for random drop in multiplayer other than "kill the host" but Fromsoft aren't competent enough and none of the people copying them ever seem to try.
Nice to hear. Going to buy it Friday. Have they given a timeframe on when they are going to add multiplayer?
patch 1
So I should pick it up now?
go ask youre mom
Hope your first child is stillborn, homosexual.
*casts reflection*

Did the devs remove the shitty durability, crafting, and resource collection while also adding a dedicated jump button, unfricking the loot table drops, and fixing the crucible into not being shit?
Am I suppose dot give a shit even if this were true? Answer my question.
99% of the steam forums are in English, but ok. Whatever you say.
Yes Palworld died because of the Chinese population. Have you considered becoming a developer? You'd be very good.
Complete moron. Unironically, go back to what ever social media shit hole you came from. I'm tired of yahuds shitting this place up.
Still not paying $40 for an early access Chinese game.
So you shifted from "the chinks play the game" to "the chinks made the game". I think it's time you went to see a psychiatrist.
You are a terminally online moron who's just venting his teenage rage at this point. Don't click on threads of games you don't like.
Performance is still just as shit as before the hotfix for me. I think it's high time I buy a new CPU.
Works on my 7 58003D :^)
No fricking way. Post proof.
my cute tomboy wife
Beat that shit first try, ever since I got a claymore the games been much easier

>most political entities screech about your presence on the island because you're like an apocalypse engine slowly trudging around and making them all look like a bunch of angry kittens
The story concept is really fricking cool
You landed right in a middle of an ongoing political clusterfrick and all power holders hate your guts because there's no telling what to expect from you.
Yeah we know, you keep posting the same shit in every thread.
it felt a bit cheap in a few manners due to how youre basically a random guy with no actual perceptible features, yet everyone magically knows
I pirated it and it runs smooth on my ryzen 9 7950x and 4070TI super. no idea what you are complaining about
It ran fine on the ship, but after than it tanked hard and I couldn't even go above 40 FPS on low, and that was without rain.
>should we make strength increase your equipment load as well as your poise and physical damage?
>No lol, just make equipment load its own stat
>what about dex, should it boost stamina too?
>no lmao make it a separate stat
Nice job, devs.
>we are going to copy souls stats
>where every weapon has the exact same scaling rate
>except stats dont have their own identity and it just declares what weapons you arbitrarily can or cant use regardless of playstyle
>and none of the damage stats do anything except boost the damage of weapons
>and the level requirements are literally just consistent across "tiers" with no real variance
>and theres number bloat so we either add a lazy respec or its fricked for the long term
>and theres no alternative beyond focusing on direct damage and everything just builds more direct damage, so changing your scaling mid playthrough is just shafting yourself
>and theres no way to even slightly alter the scaling of a weapon
I have never seen such a poor job at ripping off someone's system. Its not even just a bad execution thing, its a "completely ignoring everything that was good about the system" thing
NRFTW could have been a so much better game if it tried to innovate more and not just rip off other systems poorly. Everything it has of generic and formulaic or copied are by far the weakest elements of the game, everything it has of its own doing is by far one of the best elements of the game.
story isnt interesting
music is bland
resource gathering is tedious
enemy respawns are too predictable
movement is sometimes frustrating, precision jumps and climbing are finnicky
>precision jumps
doesnt it have auto-jumping off ledges? how can it have also have precision jumps?
Give me invasions and I'll buy the game
Is PvP planned?
Yes, they haven't said which type of PvP it will be though.
Why would you want that dogshit mechanic?
It's the most unique and fun feature from Souls games and I wish more games had it. Duel arenas and other separate PvP modes get boring quick, but invading or being invaded in countless different scenarios throughout the entirety of the game never gets old.
Yeah I sure do love invading a gank squad 2 months after release because that's all that's left.
All the best things in life are temporary
I'm still invading new players in Dark Souls 3 every time I play it. It's 8 years old.
gankspanking is great fun though, and even in the old souls games you still run into random co-opers more often than dedicated ganks.
Why didn’t they make fishing fun?
Has fishing ever been fun?
Stardew Valley came close.
