1 was so perfect, I couldn't bear playing more than 2 hours of 2
3 > 1 > 2
2 was so perfect, I couldn't bear playing more than 1 hour of 1
Yeah, but it doesn't have any fauns, so it's automatically worse than 2.
The minigames in 2 were fine. You still controlled Spyro normally for the most part, unlike in 3 where they were completely separate games.
The minigames weren’t the problem. Unlocking moves for Spyro and having to backtrack was
2 > 1 > 3
Suck a dick.
I tried playing 3 for the first time recently but i dropped it because of all the minigame side character bullshit.
There was one level with these green flying enemies you can't reach. I assumed they would bring back the dual flying/flame powerup from Spyro 2 for this but instead they make you play as a penguin with the shittest controls in the world.
That's the issue with the alternate characters in 3, yeah. They all just feel so much worse to control. Especially Bentley, who literally just plays like a slower Spyro. What the frick is the point?

Weak.
worked
why were the water levels so damn good? water levels aren't suppose to be good. It make no sense
Idk about most platformers but I always liked how Spyro controlled in the water levels. Instead of making him slow as shit he was incredibly fast and easy to handle underwater and it was fun as hell to zoom around. Also the tropical theme in all the levels helped make them feel pretty lively and cozy.
Seashell Shore is the best beach level of all time. This is non-debatable.

Lets settle this
2 > 1 = 3
1 feels a bit barren in retrospect and 3 was overloaded with silly shit.
2 had the tightest controls and largest variety in minigames without going overboard.
>1 feels a bit barren in retrospect
Because there's nothing to do except collect gems and beat the level. Not that there's anything wrong with that because they're good; but the levels aren't exactly long if you go around skipping everything and the enemies in the games aren't really a threat.
>no stupid minigames
False. The most stupid among all minigames (collection circuits) was already there.
>no alternate characters
And this is good because?
>no forced backtracking
And this is good because?
>just pure platforming kino
You mean exactly the same that's in 2 and 3 too?
>flight levels are stupid
Opinion immediately discarded.
The """speed"""way collection shit is not just bad, is literally the worst minigame in the whole trilogy.
Funny how people shit on the optional characters, while having an entire level of forced flying and/or charging is basically the same of having an entire different character, except it controls tragically worse than all the others.
>speedways bad
Black person I am going to break into your house and take a fat shit on your pillow you little wienersucker
it sure had the best aesthetic, that surreal feel is unmatched, and looks good even upscaled to 4K
Compared to Ripto, Gnorc was a shit tier antagonist.
There's a reason Ripto is still considered Spyro's arch nemesis despite him only being introduced in the second game.
The reason is Ripto was a persistent threat with constant cutscenes involving him and an appearance at every bossfight.
Gnasty was only ever seen in the intro and in his own boss fight. The guy had like two sentences of dialogue.
That was the problem with The Sorceress. Never encounters Spyro throughout the journey, and has no dialogue in the final battle.
Except we as players got dialogue through the cutscenes, she's the direct cause for every single boss fight and the reason the secondary characters are locked up.
Gnasty, even though he turned gems into warriors, doesn't have that kind of presence. Only rescued dragons talking shit about him
How are the Spyro GBA games? There were six of them apparently.
Play: Season of Flame
Try: Attack of the Rhynocs, Eternal Night
Skip: Season of Ice
Avoid: Spyro Orange, A New Beginning
Okay. I heard Eternal Night GBA heralded as the final good GBA game for the scant reviews it did receive. It graphically looks very good, and it seems to have a sort of Metroid like gameplay, with the downside being that it is very short (can be finished in three hours).
Any more feedback in regards to Eternal Night GBA?
Seconding this. Though I'd argue Attack of the Rhynocs is the "to play", but it can go either way.
Currently playing through TEN on the GBA. Solid little metroidvania with a combo system for fights. Some nice power-ups, music, and sprite work. Nothing mindblowing, but it's been a good time.
So you would add The Eternal Night GBA to "to play" as well?
Not sure about that. I'd say it's a solid game, but really just depends on if you're into that stuff. It's not my usual cup of tea but I've enjoyed it.
They're all pretty garbage compared to the console games. The isometric perspective doesn't work too well and the view distance is way too small. The legend of spyro ones are all generic 2D platformers that are "okay" at best and shit at worst.
3 is the complete package with best levels. IF you'd remove the minigames, it would be on top
They are all good.
yeah but 1 is the best
2 is the best b***h
god yes
the original music is still the best; the remake is okay but pretty much every song sounds worse than Copeland's originals
I like 1 but it's pretty dull on replays. I always feel like I'm just getting it out of the way to get to 2 and 3
>emulate 3
>play yeti hockey for like 2 hours
Frick is wrong with me
Spyro 1 has the best level design, music and gem collecting. Spyro 2 has the best story and bosses and side characters considering the dragons always say 1-2 lines and are voiced by Clancy Brown. Spyro 3 isn't bad but it really does nothing new and has a weaker execution of everything that came before it.
3
.
i only played 3 as a kid
1 is the best
but 3 is my favourite
It was released in an era where games being 4 hours long was considered to be a bad thing. Obtuse mini games and more collectables increased playtime and therefore increased customer satisfaction.
yes, they did. 1 is the only one I replay consistently and I 100% it every time.
