Basically, if there's even a thread on here about non-coomer gacha games, it will not receive that much attention. I played Vampire Survivors, took a while to get used to the controls until I realized I can change it and it works.

Vampire Survivors is one of the 5 best games I've ever played. It manages it do a lot with very little. It proves that a $5 indie game with ancient graphics can be more fun than a $70 piece of AAA slop.

vs was a nice little game when it first released in it's earlier iterations. It improved on the existing template and had some innovations. But now the genre has moved on and improved beyond it.

It's an incredible game, good value. Some issues here and there but on iOS, if you don't want to be a gacha coomer mf then it's great.

Same. I liked Botworld Adventure (akin to gacha) but the extreme grind and daily rewards crap was so tiring.
Thankfully stuff like shattered pixel dungeon and VS are a nice alternative.
It's sad because there is tremendous value in mobile gaming and it's so easy to pick up, low barrier to entry. Most of it is just oversimplied gambling dopamine hacking.

Mobile gaming is a massive waste of potential as it currently is. I think the issue is that with smartphones being multipurpose there is no incentive for quality game experiences unlike the Gameboy,Switch or PSP.

Yeah, I work w/ Google Ads so I know. We get a massive boner at the office from leads that are Freemium p2w. Huge retention difference.
Lots of devs don't understand that they -have- to make it free upfront and when the player has bought into the first 10mins of gameplay/first two chapters, to then be prompted w/ a full purchase.

Most users aren't conscious. There's a reason why platforms like insta have massive amount of users with huge amount of hours spending gigantic amounts of data. Hamsters in the dopamine wheel. I would argue only seasoned dopamine veterans (eg. Millenial gamers) are wise enough to navigate the internet w/o getting _too_ fricked. It'll take at least 20-30 years for the rest to catch up. If they ever do. And by then there'll be VR. God save us all.
