    1. Lost the code.
    2. Spaghetti moron code.
    3. Licensing issues.
    4. They have no idea how to contact From Software and ask for a PC port.
    5. They're purposely not porting it out of stubbornness.

Take your pick as to why there's still no Bloodborne PC port and why there's rumors of a remake instead, for some reason.

Same reason why there is still no 60 fps remaster for the PS5 despite a modder having made his own 60 fps version on a jailbroken PS5, proving it would easily be possible. It's a much simpler explanation than one wants to admit: Bloodborne simply didn't sell well enough and Sony doesn't care about it and has no confidence that a PS5 version or a PC port would be worth the money.

        Anonymous

No, they just don't wanna be made to look like fools. Bloodborne would instantly become a chart topping seller and this embarasses Sony in a couple ways:

        >Mogging all their budget bloated DEI infested exclusives by selling a cool 5+ million on PC and PS5 each almost right away
        >Making them look stupid/shortsighted because Sony Japan Studio isn't even around anymore thanks to new management at SIE being Western focused

This is the same logic for why they won't bother porting the Killzone trilogy, Haze, Resistance, MAG and bringing the SOCOM franchise back from the dead. One ancient series that would make a decent comeback from their backcatalog is Champions of Norrath. Give that a fresh coat of paint and you'll get some fish biting again.

Console games are developed on a PC with the intention to run on a certain console and are built as such. To have a game be PC market ready, it needs to be tuned and optimized to run on a ton of configurations. PC ports are a huge amount of work you moron

          Anonymous

tuning and optimising =/= having to actually port and reverse engineer.
          way to miss the point...

also From ported DaS1 with literally no porting experience on more of a less a whim and while the port was lacking, it was still more stable than almost any current AAA game release

I honestly can't figure it out.

      >1. Lost the code.
      >2. Spaghetti moron code.
Worse cases have gotten the remaster. You can rip the thing from a retail disc if this is the case then just fix bugs. And I doubt this in the case given the same studio had other games remastered/remade using the source code. Why would they have lost Bloodborne but not Dark or Demon's Souls?

      >3. Licensing issues.
Also shouldn't be an issue. Licensing issues that prevent remakes are usually due to external licenses like different record labels owning different parts of the soundtrack, or different IRL cars or guns featuring heavily in the game. The only thing that could potentially be the case here are the voice actor's performances, but in which case you just rerecord them with someone else. Sony and From should be able to sort this out.

      >4. They have no idea how to contact From Software and ask for a PC port.
      No.

      >5. They're purposely not porting it out of stubbornness.
This is the only reason that remains. Someone in this whole chain is stubbornly holding on to Bloodborne for an incomprehensible reason.

        >Demon's Souls

BB was never published anywhere but the PS4, a remake could skirt the legal restrictions that caused this, and thus make perfect sense.

and it is a literally perfect game.

id rather have a faithful remake/remaster of a great game nowadays than yet another "original" unoptimised, bloated pile of shit with zero replay value

        Anonymous

This is a stupid argument because the technological leap between the original re1 and the remake was huge, whereas the difference between a game from 2015 and 2021 is minimal

          Anonymous

I see your point, but technological leaps are not the only factor.

Time still moves the same and to many people who are now in their early/mid teens, a game released in the mid 2010s is basically old and out of reach.
By remaking and porting you ensure your classics stay in people's minds and gain even more fans.

            Anonymous

But a remake doesn't make sense in the context of Bloodborne because there's a lot of demand for the original. It's a lot of work to remake all the assets, and for what? They could port the game and it would make millions, remaking would mean costs that are not necessary, while risking the Demon's Souls fiasco

              Anonymous

I agree with that. Porting Bloodborne with a higher fps option is literally free shekels.

The remake is absolute slop that completely ruins the art and vibe. There's literally no reason to play the remake and it's almost fricking cultural vandalism what they did to it.

They even ruined the fricking MUSIC

I would only buy the remake if it came to PC so modders could get in there and frickin' fix as much as they can, and even then I'd only be playing that version for the online play, there's no way for modders to really fix the fricking vandalism commited to the environmental aesthetics.

I would agree broadly but BB's art design and environments and 3D Model work are literally GOAT shit.

The concept art literally looks brought to life by the 3d artists. Bloodborne doesn't need ANY visual changes, it just needs to run smoothly and maybe have some fancy graphical effects tastefully mixed in.

I personally don't think BB would be nearly as butchered as Demon's Souls was.
Mainly because AAA PBR art workflows were standardized by the time BB was made.
They should have high res Zbrush sculpts and textures for every objects. Far higher resolution than the stuff that made it into the game.
It would be a matter of rebuilding the game resolution models off of the high resolution sculpts that already exist.

This is actually known and true. PEople at the very high end of hacking BB and shit have said it would look insanely good running at the level it was produced at.
            >It would be a matter of rebuilding the game resolution models off of the high resolution sculpts that already exist.
Logically yes. But again I'm so demoralized by DeS and Sony since PS5 came out that I literally hold zero faith in this happening the logical proper way.

when will we escape from the modern mindset of "we know better than the original creators, you will like our version more"

When we go back to respecting art and authors.

in 5-10 years there will be a PC version made by fans using those assets with a home made mp server like there is with DeS.

It's really sad. I wish it came to all platforms so all gamers could potentially enjoy this game.
Can you emulate this yet with a 4090 system?

Made by BluePoint, butchering the aesthetics, music, and atmosphere and also removing chalice dungeons because "no one liked them". $70 plus tip.
