how come there's no Northgard thread? I enjoy the mechanics and the challenge.

Just play DUNC
Though I do have high hopes for Spice Wars, Northgard has a completely different theme, has been in development for much longer and has more content/polish.
I'd like to finish a game in less than 2 hours. dune is so fricking slow.
How can they possibly justify a $30+$50 dlc sticker price?
it's a dead game
t. 4000 hrs in it, mostly MP, though haven't played much in the last year
What clans you playing? I'm an ox man myself. Doesn't seem too viable competitively but fun to play against hard and insane ai.
I like the rat clan.
Stoat clan is cool. I hope they'll add more euro/maybe asian type clans in the future
Next clan is a normal one because people are still pissed about the DLC
You'll have to choose one of the 3 sisters of fate depending on your strategy and the clan build with lore rather than wood
Kraken, i wish they never had a rework, it was funny to turtle hard and piss off everyone by sending ghosts, reworked version ain't bad but it feel more sluggish to play
Used to play snake, i don't know what the frick they were thinking with that rework though, clan was designed with a focus on skirmisher unit and harrassing/winning early because their late game was shit and now you have no reason to ever field skirmishers and signy is mostly used to scorch neutral areas for resources now.
I should try eagle at some point, it seem completely broken
played stag before they nerfed jar. fame win 802 was way to op
Dragon, because it lets me enslave the other clans, which frankly should be an ability every clan has. This game would be kino if you could steal workers from each other.
I played it ages ago.
Twas ok.
troony devs.
it gets really boring and samey after awhile. I got 50 hours out of it with friends and I'm probably 100% done with it.
>Why nobody discuss a 5 yo game that has replayability so low, clocking in 30 hours is enough to see everything it has to offer
Yeah, really makes you think
I played it for just over 2 hours so now I can't get a refund but I really don't enjoy it.
They added a lot of content, I dropped it after about 10 hrs when it first came out but I tried it recently and it’s much better now. But yeah if you’re a storycuck or APMcuck then it’s probably not for you.
I remember restarting one skirmish so I could "figure the game out", beat the hard AI, then uninstalled the game.
All I remember from that experience was the word "underwhelming". Waste of money
>mechanics
That get changed and “balanced” all the time.
I hate having my favorite strats either nerfed or removed from the game altogether for some bullshit reason.
Live service garbage
I want to call Based, but not entirely sure if that’s not my own post.
>create real time 4x
>include micro as a feature
I like the game but if I feel like microing I'd rather play other game. I don't understand how this would translate to the mobile version even.
I'm a 4x player who hates micro and RTS in general, but I don't mind it in Northgard
I don't like how the game creates challenge by placing restrictions on the player and not by the complexity of the game mechanics.
Why can I only build a few houses per tile, is that regulated by the viking construction supervision? Why do my guys get less happy if the population grows, are they all antisocial Gankerners? It feels so artificial, like an abstract puzzle game with an alien logic.
>Why can I only build a few houses per tile
Because you spread your buildings around and actually seek to expand your territory to do so
>Why do my guys get less happy if the population grows
Because it would be too easy to just sit on your ass and have a constant spawning rate until pop cap, said spawning rate being faster the more happiness you have which mean earlier villager than normal which mean faster economy
You're not restricted, you just hate being challenged
The game creates a challenge by
>building_limit = 4
>happines_malus = -pop * 2
while everything else remains shallow and gets boring fast. I just don't find that approach to design very appealing.
Then go back to starshitcraft, you apm-addled boomer chink
I honestly just enjoy building my gay little village. Reminds me of playing other RTS games back before metagays and MMR became a thing
Bumping this thread up because i'm at an impasse
How the frick do i beat two AI as eagle on a map that prevent you from rushing with thorns/neutrals and permanently nuking your territory every year at random
The bonus feel particularly useless since rushing grif out early and having her clear out the zones is more efficient
Does it also nuke enemy zones?
Yes, 3 random zones get permanently nuked every event, one for each clan
It can be neutral, it can be your territory, it destroy everything on the territory, you can't build anything on it and not even grif can survive going through more than one without healing afterward
Started playing this just now. I like the Snake Clan because it has a cute girl and snakes are cool. Don't be fooled by lackadasical attitude however, I want to get gud and I'm already picking up alot. Any tips? I've just been playing the story mode to settle in. The economy is very challenging to manage, mission 7 was pretty hard
