Not only is Links Awakening DX the greatest Zelda game. It is the great game ever created of all time. It is extremely ominous.

DX is a massive downgrade over the original since you can't skip text messages anymore. How many explanations of Pieces of Power, Guardian Acorns, Maps and Compasses do you need to read to understand what they do?
I’m sorry but I completely disagree. DX is so much better simply for the Photographer and Color Dungeon.
?si=x_D3yeJuAZIeLLwZ
>Photographer
Now you can't 100% the game without getting the bad ending.
>Color Dungeon
Worst dungeon in the game, with a reward of breaking game balance. I know you're not forced to pick it up but it's not my responsibility to fix the game's bad design.
Original is best.
By the time the DX-version come most of us would be playing the game for a 2nd time, israelite.
You only need to steal an item for the photo, not go back to the store. You'll still be stuck as THIEF for the rest of the game, though.
>Now you can't 100% the game without getting the bad ending.
You don't have to "100%" the game, the story is about sacrifice and finally you should be punished for thievery.
Heh, I suppose we should be thankful back then a remaster entailed nothing more than a bad colorization, some gimmicky additional content and broken text boxes. Today, the entire game is AI upscaled, the music is replaced by a troony disco rearranged soundtrack, the script is entirely retranslated, and the gameplay is altered significantly.
fpbp, plus the slower menu opening/closing, graphics oversights, other inconsistent additions, and easier bosses make this inferior and the pleb version.
Still a great game, and worth playing even if you played the superior original, but you're a fricking moron if you think colorization (some of which is not great in DX) necessarily makes a game better.
>what are romhacks
Innovative and inventive ways to not beat the game.
There's the typical /vr/ contrarians and then there's this brainrot. There's no recovering from this. You'll never have a normal rational opinion again for the rest of your life, you live to pretend the shittiest version of everything is good without question or order. Once you cross the event horizon where you no longer have the ability to form your own taste or opinions you might as well end it all.
It's no use, I tried arguing with them but they're hopeless. They also completely ignore the fact that all of their arguements against DX that aren't the photograh and the bonus dungeons are actually not things DX came up with, but things which were already in place through various revisions of the original game. DX was just based on the last revision of the original game, as it should be.
Why wasn't I,
, included?
To expand on me simply saying I dislike it, I live there original Zelda for the relative lack of limits of the exploration of the admittedly tiny game world.
LA has some nice, memorable music, surprisingly decent story-telling and a lot more going for it, but the lack of exploring an open game world makes the game less enjoyable for me.
I also liked the emphasis on interaction with NPCs, which is a bit strange considering that what I like about the original is that you're just dropped in media res and can immediately go off to bomb some dodongos, no story or npc interaction necessary.
It is a fine game but the true best game is
Well it is the only Zelda game I ever played that kept me interested enough to finish it, so there is that.
This. The other Zelda games get boring real fast, I'm not even sure why.
For me anyways, it's that Zelda seems mostly about exploring as it's main hook. The combat is always very simple, the puzzles are simple, I think the draw is supposed to be immersing yourself in the world and enjoying puttering around in it. And if you don't find the world that interesting then there's not much else to really draw you in. Link's Awakening has a slightly eerie feel which is interesting and it's quite short which I think also helps a lot.
Good point. I always found the worlds pretty generic and uninspiring. Similar to how I feel about a lot of older JRPGs these days as well.
god damn this board is only mildly better than v but is infested with gen x morons who talk like teenagers
Warp glitch was removed and it was one of the most fun glitches to goof around with and explore ever. Power Bracelets in every room between rooms and warping to the final boss by jumping over the front entrance door to the 8th dungeon. Good times.
Gf and I made a scrapbook with the Gameboy camera pictures. Now I look inside the book and the pictures are faded out as frick. Sorry links awakening dx, that's no bueno
Incredible emotional range in this OST
I strongly dislike it and all other portable Zeldas.
Same but take out the word "portable"
Seconded.
DX fricking sucks.
>Links Awakening DX the greatest Zelda game.
hahahahahahahahahahahhhaahhaahahahahahahaahahhahah
close but no cigar op, that's majora's mask on both counts. it is the best 2d zelda for sure though and top three at least.
>It is the great game ever created of all time. It is extremely ominous.
I like it too, but it's not "ominous", it's literally a fun, memorable cartoon game for a pocket console, both made for small children. It does have good music.
Nah as a kid the game was very ominous and creepy to me, especially once I got to Catfish’s Maw and Face Shrine. Sure it has its cute and fun moments but there is also parts that were very ominous and kind of sad to me.

What is it an omen of?
You are an actual fricking idiot.
Do you ever worry that constantly gushing over children's toys as 'the greatest thing ever' makes you seem immature? Are you aware that even their creators consider them "toys"? Is it possible your taste and hobbies aren't refined or niche, but just kind of juvenile and basic? Are you aware that it doesn't have to be like this? That you can let go of things while still appreciating them and cherishing their memory?
>>Do you ever worry that constantly gushing over children's toys as 'the greatest thing ever' makes you seem immature?
No.
>Are you aware that even their creators consider them "toys"?
Yes, and they're also aware that toys are extremely important.
>Is it possible your taste and hobbies aren't refined or niche, but just kind of juvenile and basic?
Are non-juvenile people even human?
>Are you aware that it doesn't have to be like this?
It doesn't have to, but I'm glad it is.
>That you can let go of things while still appreciating them and cherishing their memory?
No need to do that.
>Yes, and they're also aware that toys are extremely important.
To whom? Who generally plays with toys, anon?
>Are non-juvenile people even human?
Are you implying that you're juvenile on purpose to preserve your humanity? I can think of several simpler explanations, would you like to know them?
Pull your head out of your ass, kid. Nobody is impressed by your attempts to appear smart and adult.
>To whom?
To anyone who isn't broken and soulless.
>Are you implying that you're juvenile on purpose to preserve your humanity?
No, I'm implying that since my humanity is still intact my inner child never died.
Trying to appear mature makes you look immature.
You also look pretentious.
Telling you that the creators of the things you worship literally consider them toys for children is "trying to appear mature"? If that's your definition of mature, it's no wonder that you can't see how fetishizing these things well into adulthood can make you look like a grotesque oversized child. But wait, let me check the age bracket this game is for.
>Pegi Rating: Suitable for ages 7 and over.
If a grown man told you that their favorite film is a cartoon made for 7 year old children where a boy with a sword saves the world, what would think? Be honest.
>I'm implying that since my humanity is still intact my inner child never died.
Pic related. Their inner child "never died", either.
>If a grown man told you that their favorite film is a cartoon made for 7 year old children where a boy with a sword saves the world, what would think? Be honest.
Nothing, that's normal.
You are pretentious and pathetic, a true adult recognizes when they like something and don't shy away from their inner child, an underdeveloped kid like you only cares for surface level, shallow depictions of adulthood.
What I wanna know is why she's here, a board dedicated to old-ass video games, just to shit on people for liking old-ass video games. Should we go frick with something she likes doing? I say a dozen of us should go down to the docks and swat sailors' dicks out of her mouth and tell her that's disgusting, just to see how she likes having her hobbies derided.
There's no "inner child", there's just an emotionally stunted teenager who didn't transition into adulthood, unsatisfied with life but afraid to let go or make changes and assume the consequences. Are you afraid of losing your humanity? Wanna know a thing you can do that's very human, almost as human as you can get? Becoming an adult.
You sound extremely upset. Take a moment to consider how you would sound saying these things. Do it in front of a mirror, out loud. Does it look and sound like a child that no one would ever take seriously? Do you see any relation between this and the way you spend your time?
>I have no idea who they are but they look happy and in love.
Let! People! Enjoy! Things! Upvoted my good sir.
>Let! People! Enjoy! Things!
>there's just an emotionally stunted teenager who didn't transition into adulthood, unsatisfied with life but afraid to let go or make changes and assume the consequences.
You just described yourself.
I wouldn't base my judgement on the movie choice, I would base it on what the person extrapolated from the movie and how genuine their enjoyment is.
>Pic related. Their inner child "never died", either
I have no idea who they are but they look happy and in love.
