I pretty much avoid anything related to google or apple which is getting more and more impossible these days.10 years ago I didn't see them as much of an issue but nowadays they're literally the fricking devil incarnate if you ask me. the signs were there and I shrugged them off. You might not remember it as well as you think you do but back when WoW came out not everybody used the internet and the people who did were certainly not scouring every forum to autistically minmax like they do today.
The magic of those early MMOs came from the lack of information being shared, and that is an MMO culture we will quite literally NEVER get again, no matter how hard you try to emulate it.
Your best bet at capturing even a fraction of that feeling would be to play obscure, lesser documented MMOs with outdated or incomplete wikis. Obviously they come with the tradeoff of usually being shit in one way or another though.

It's not that time is tick rocking, it's genuinely that these games are dated as frick and no one is making new games to your taste. All new games are like some gotcha scheme where you have to keep paying for new seasons and other bullshit dlc. And even in the case of WoW, Blizzard was always garbage, and because of trh success of WoW they just sat on their asses until they needed more money and focused 99% on Overshit. I always keep seeing these messages or people not being able to find new games but that's literally not my problem because I've been going PC and Nintendo since Sega died.
