I liked SSSS.Gridman. It's sequel was good too. But, I'd chalk its success up partly due to the fact that they hired one of my favorite writers. Typically, their stuff is all style and no substance.
Gridman was good, but because it's mecha it can't escape comparison to Eva and Gurren Lagann, and it's nowhere near the global phenomenon/cultural staple level they were.
And it's another case of the twist taking away my personal investment in the story instead of adding something. At least it wasn't as bad as DitF.

I've hated every other battle royale game I've ever tried, but I really enjoy Fortnite now unironically. Feels like a good blend of BR gameplay without having a way too large map like in PUBG. Still gets pretty sweaty once you're in higher sbmm lobbies but it's a good time if you don't let some of the more obnoxious crossovers/music get to you.
I came back to it cause of zero build as well. Apex was getting too cucked for my liking (though admittedly it was always that way) so I'm more than glad to leave it.
