I really want to like Turok 2 more than I do, because it's legitimately pretty awesome, but some of those levels are hard to enjoy in places.
Turok 1 is easily a better all round game, because it's just so much more playable.
3 seems cool, and I would like to play it at more than 10fps one day.
I love the way Turok 1 looks and feels. It's simpler and there is way less gore. Yet, somehow I prefer it over 2. I love the music, it was amazing. Turok 2 also had a fantastic soundtrack, but something about the simplicity of Turok 1 just keeps me replaying it. It really felt like an adventure, especially the jungle levels with the tree tops. The precarious jumping sections over bottomless pits etc. Just a better game overall.
Turok 3 was a console exclusive. On-top of making it work on modern systems, they would have to develop it as a port.
ND wants to, but they can't seem to find proper source code for it.
they heavily hinted that they were making either a Turok 3 port and a new original N64 turok using their Hex Engine they used for Turok1/2. But that was before they got bought by Atari and it seems a lot of projects were cancelled because of that.
yeah he mentiones they're still "looking". on twitter they mentioned around the same time that they were looking into remaking Turok 3 with their kex engine but the amount of work would be the same as making an original new Turok so they weren't sure which to do. Then we didn't hear anything for a year and a half and then the sale happened so who knows if it's still true. On twitter they showed throwing away and clearing a bunch of projects they had in mind shortly before the sale was announced.

The first half of 2 is basically perfect, but 1 is much more consistent. 3 is great but it was kind of a mess on a technical level. The multi-player is fantastic, I hope they don't remove it if it gets remade.
Turok Evolution had a fricked up version too where it'd bore through the whole body, cut off the legs leaving them to drop on their stumps, then their arms and finally their heads.
I played the frick out of it. Very removed from the originals like you said, but I thought it was great fun. I never beat it though. Fricking Mama Scarface constantly killed me if Kane didn't.

A complete map redux for 2, that cuts down on the most annoying labyrinthine parts of that game would be perfect, actually. Has anyone considered making that?
Everything about the game seems conceptually really neat, and I like that it's a lot more linear than 2, which was kind of a nightmare in that regard.
It's just that performance. It was one of those ass-end of the N64 life-cycle games that were pushing the system to it's limit, and maybe further than they should have.
Anyone here grew up with the GB games?
First one is basically a demake of the N64 game, It's rather impressive.
2/ragewars/3 are contra clones but have some elements of other genres so they're neat. Every game is unforgivingly hard so save states are a must.
Turok Evolution for GBA is secretly really fricking cool.
Arguably a better Metal Slug or Contra for the GBA than what those series actually came out with.
I tried the GBA one just now and it's awesome a bit difficult but I'll be having fun with it.
The GBC games are less contra-esque since they have some top down sections and adventure type quests which slow the game down. Not classics but they scratch your itch for more turok.
Man it could literally mean anything, but I find it weird that they would include Turok stuff in Quake II of all places.
There's also a Turok 2 banner called Cerebral Bore.
Night dive don't own the Turok licence so how could they POSSIBLY legally be allowed to use the Turok 3 copyright images unless they have in fact gotten the rights to do something with it?
If that were the case, they wouldn't have included the Turok banners in the final release.
Specially how Universal is a huge c**t about their copyrights.

Turok 2 has better animations, special effects, music, weapons, story, cast of characters, models, textures, abilities, enemies, gore, multiplayer.
But Turok has levels that don't make you want to have a nice day with how tedious they are. So Turok 1 is better. It's really weird.

Wish they'd re"make" turok 3 like the first 2. The first 2 are super good but it's kinda hard to enjoy on n64

I'd go even further to say that the Primagen's Light ship is surprisingly simple, and the Hive of the Mantid's is easy.

Post your favorite gun.
For me it's the Pulse Rifle.
Shredder
Cerebral Bore is my favorite weapon in the whole series.
just one of the most ghoulish weapons in any fps ever
those were better days
Turok Evolution had a fricked up version too where it'd bore through the whole body, cut off the legs leaving them to drop on their stumps, then their arms and finally their heads.

Whats the consensus on Turok 2008? I thought it was decent FPS, but far removed from originals

Horrible Turok game, terrible halo/cod clone with awful mechanics.
There's lots of mods for Turok 1+2 Remasters that I recommend people check out.

did anyone else ever jump off of a cliff just to listen to him scream?
I like 3 a lot. They solved the fog plague and it is the closest thing avaliable to Half Life on N64, but the settings are more varied.

What did ND mean by this?
Is that a Turok 3 reference specifically?
Hopefully that means what I think it means.
did nightdive do the Quake remasters?
Yeah. Unless I'm mistaken.
Man it could literally mean anything, but I find it weird that they would include Turok stuff in Quake II of all places.

It seems to be this art from the Turok 3 box, so...

damn that's definitely Turok3. Turok bros it/s happening
