It's japan, so probably high effort. Too bad the puzzles were complete shit. Half of them were just standing on a box and rewinding it.

    Neither.
It's lazy in some areas but effort put in others.

I liked BOTW but TOTK bored me. I don't care for crafting items or building/fusing. I hope Nintendo at least makes another lower budget overhead Zelda game for people who want the traditional formula back.

A bit of both, but not necessarily in a bad way. For instance the sky islands are often copypasted, but each area gets at least one unique feature and their small size facilitates a need to build flying machines or figure out some way to get to the more remote ones.

It's glorified DLC and has no identity of its own, in a few years it'll blur into one with BotW in most peoples' minds

Standalone spinoff would have been fine to, just not for 70 fricking buckaroos and 6 years of development.

Might be one of the laziest AAA releases ever.
The amount of assets recycled from BotW is staggering.

AAA budget, AAA dev time, and AAA sales.
Just because the Switch is an underpowered piece of shit doesn't change the fact that Zelda/Mario are high profile franchises.
This is by no means to say that AAA = better, but it would be insane to call Nintendo indie or even AA.

Ahh yes. Majora's Mask was also garbage due to recycled assets.

Kind of a brainlet take. There are other more valid criticisms to make

genshit shitpact does the same yet the only reason thst game is played is due to coomers, mentally ill, fujos and those who invested too luch to leave.

Indiana Jones and The Staff of Kings was canceled because LucasArts took too long and couldn’t figure out how to make a single object interact with the two different physics systems: Havoc and Digital Molecular Matter. Production went on for almost a decade eclipsing the entire 7th generation of consoles it was announced for. Totk has four different physics systems working in tandem with any given and literally every object in the game.

This is real talk. Now please continue posting bears or forced soul or whatever.

totk makes botw seem low effort, and botw was pretty great. totk isn't perfect though, a lot of the depths is pretty laggy, and triggering your companion's abilities with B can be very annoying in some situations.

      Anonymous

The depths isn't laggy at all? Is this some emulator thing? I get a moment of slowdown when running through a densely populated forest, and that's about it. Never anywhere in the Depths

Agreed about the Sage stuff, but Riju is the only one that matters in combat so it's mostly fine.

why is Zelda a dragon? like why did she need to do that. Is Ganondorf a dragon too?

The master sword gets smashed and she panic activates her time powers and ends up in the past. Her powers can also heal the sword, but it would take thousands of years, so she turns herself into an immortal mindless dragon hoping to deliver the fixed sword back to present day Link. Ganondorf also turns himself into a dragon at the end and gets immediately murdered by Link and dragon Zelda like the jobber he is. But in the end, force ghosts of the first rulers of Hyrule show up and turn Zelda back to normal.

        Anonymous

Do you think it's possible for Zelda to grow a new master sword out of any shard of the old one? Like if they find the piece that cut Ganondor'fs cheek do you think she can just infuse it with divine power and Link can have two master swords?

I know OoT did time travel first but that game at least split the timelines. This is some capeshit style development.
