Now that gen 8 and 9 are fully and mutually compatible, how long do you think they'll keep this up? Do you think gen 10 will allow us to transfer down to gen 8 and 9? What about gen 12 or 15?
Do you think they'll release the other games on VC eventually and we'll eventually have all generations fully mutually compatible with Home as the hub? That would be really cool and I would forgive them for shutting down Bank if they bring back the other games via the VC and make them two-way transferable.

Home seems to be future proof.
That's what people said about bank and look where that went
That's a 3DS app and clearly wasn't designed wih multiple gens in mind based on how they implemented SM compatibility. Home has been multi-platform from the beginning.
The way LGPE moks are handled in the app has me concerned though.
Actually, Bank was nixed because Nintendo has weird rules about having the same software on two subsequent systems.
So... Expect Home to be axed for the new Home.
Though Home being on the phone seems like they might be allowed to keep it further than just the Switch?
>Nintendo has weird rules about having the same software on two subsequent systems.
How many Wii U ports does the Switch have again?
That’s an LGPE problem. The home tracker doesn’t fit hence to prevent data loss its export only once it goes in another game. All games after that have a home tracker and don’t have that issue anymore.
Future proof until Nintendo decides to pull the plug on the Switch Wifi services in 2028 🙂
The fact that Bank still runs is not proving your point. The Switch app would be partially retired while the mobile app would live on.
Anon... they are shutting down online for wiiu and 3ds in 4 months
Yes, and Bank is the one exception
What is Nintendo going to pull the plug on the Google app store?
Until they release Pokemon Resort which is the same thing but $50 a year.
What’s the actual reason Let’s Go can’t receive anything?
They have a different and simplified formula for stats that makes converting back too hard for indie company GF
>remove the candy boosts
done, same formula now
It could absolutely be done under their current framework but I suspect it wasn't bankrolled because "LGPE is an irrelevant game" at the time they were doing the massive Home update that entailed two-way support to BDSP, PLA, and SV.
They could do it they just don't care to, it's too old for them to give a shit about it which I understand but it's still a shame.
What about Arceus?
non canon shovelware
What about it? You can transfer Pokemon to PLA without any problems. They still have IVs and EVs it's just hidden.
The data they use to track Pokémon across games doesn’t fit in LGPE so anytime something goes in then out and back in it receives a new tracker. If you sent Pokémon from other games into LGPE they would lose all external data. Starting with SWSH they reserve a spot for that tracker so now we get backwards transfers.
It really just depends on how long they're going to support Home. I could see it going either they keep Home around or introduce another bank service for the Switch successor.
I'm guessing gen 10 will not be able to send pokemon back to previous gens because [dumb reason]
