It was kinoslop that I enjoyed rewatching last week.
I watched the first 5imites but I turned it off because I was cringing too much.
I don't think you even get to see Pikachu by that point, lol. No judgement, I just think it's funny.
No no, he's got a point. The opening is promising enough with Mewtwo breaking out but as soon as we see Tim and his nameless friend start spouting random pokemon gibberish, the cringe is real. It's something like:
>"We tried a fire type, and a grass type, so a Cubone must be the right one for you! Did you know it hecken wears the skull of it's mom!?!"
Sidenote. (Not to bring attention to the shithead spammer) but what was with the Cynthia cameo? We got live-action Cynthia is this movie telling some girl to hold her coat and then, nothing. It's so brief I bet half the people here didn't even know she was in it.

Yeah. It's during the big fight with Mewtwo in the city. It's literally 3 seconds long. You have to wonder why it even happened.
I saw this film again last week and I already memoryholed that scene, lol. It WAS bad. It gets a bit less meh afterwards, but I don't blame him for leaving, not at all.

Slop. It's a boring buddy cop kids' movie with horrible acting, ugly CGI pokémon as its sole selling point, with a setting based on a game nobody played
It was impressive when it launched because for the first time in forever, a videogame-based movie wasn't utter diarrhea but seeing how much more Sonic and Mario movies were successful really shows how unremarkable DP is.
Yeah, but the Sonic movie was pretty dogshit too, at least in terms of acting, spare for Jim Carrey. I don't think video game films will ever be good. Never watched the bing bing wahoo film though.
Sonic 2 and the bind bing "THIS SUMMER..." movie was just alright. Nothing to write home about.

Cringekino that was better than the source material. Not as good as the first movie, howeverst.
It could've been kino if they had a better VA for Pikachu and a better actor for Tim. I didn't mind the race change, but I did mind that Justin Smith plays the same character in every movie he's in.

it was just a regular movie for families, but for pokemon standards it was kino.
It was great and not overwhelming way to show People pokemon world.
Its a solid movie with really great cgi.
