No, but TM is still good. Numan is a bit too padded. It makes for more gametime but BM was just concentrated ludo. The atmosphere shift was overall a downgrade.

      Why not both?

They put ellusive targets into an arcade, so you can do them like escalations now.
It was kind of fun having those 1-time events, it established some stakes that most video games don't have.
And if you win or lose it doesn't change the rest of the game, just bragging rights.

Kyd would not fit into the soulless corporate garbage that is Numan. The tone has shifted completely, it's "Knives Out" type of bullshit bordering parody in most levels.

Not them, but yes the overall tone of those games was darker. Yes, there are some levels that have parodies. Codename 47's opening on its own is already a darker tone than most of the stuff in the numan series.

Yes, for better or worse. They drained all the SOVL from Hitman and got away with flagrant israelitery, but ultimately the WoA trilogy is the best game in the series. The number of options you have and replayability is simply on another level. Paris and Sapienza are the best designed locations they have ever made. I still love BM but I feel i've done everything in that game, whereas I have more hours in the WoA trilogy yet I know there are still things left to do.

  6. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

I really enjoy the WoA games, I have dozens of hours put in to each level, but I think one of their major short comings are how the story missions and challenges(which you have to do to unlock equipment) hand hold too much.

From new trilogy, I find 2016 the best. Levels are either inconsistent or varied depending on how you look at them, they're high quality and have the highest peaks in trilogy. Hokkaido and Paris remain my favorite levels. I wish there were more smaller levels like the Cuban base simulation from tutorial.
Hitman 2 levels are too big. Hitman 3 really cranked up the atmosphere, but at the same time it feels barren and rushed.

hokkaido was fun as frick but the outbreak hokkaido expansion side content cemented it as one of my favorites. The idea of a disease spreading to people and having to elimate anyone it spreads to is just so fun to me.

No it’s finally cringe and they clearly used all 3 hitman games as a way to petition for the rights to make a James Bond game I had been saying it years before they announced they got those rights because the full hitman trilogy was just 0047 more than hitman, every target was some bond like villain super spy or Illuminati member etc, also the game is just broken in terms of hiding from people etc just duck behind something right in front of someone no problem, oh you ran out right in front of someone you have 3 full seconds to duck behind someone and they’ll completely forget, oh you still have weapons on you at the checkpoint we’ll make sure you physically can’t get caught with them in a pat down any more. Every npc says dumb lines to you constantly in an attempt to remind you what type of costume you are wearing in case you are literally moronic, “hey police officer don’t arrest me huh hahaha’ every mission having about 20 different whacky sequence of event ways to kill the target is comical on top of making it too easy it feels like everything in these peoples homes etc are built dangerously or like if 47 didn’t even turn up they would accidentally kill themselves just trying to make breakfast, the music is also so fricking bland and the fact that Jasper Kydd wants to come back and is benign shafted for a cheaper in house guy because they really don’t care is cancer. The full trilogy is pure unadulterated cringe for zoomers and it feels like they ruined the full game because the average moron in testing couldn’t do anything that requires a brain.

I love Blood Money, but its not as good as Contracts and not as tense as Silent Assassin

Blood money has a lot of new mechanics that doesn't add anything to the sneaking/assassination aspect, just new ways to dick around when you're killing the entire map out of boredom.
Still a great game, and a great Hitman game

You have got to admit it felt good to finally be able to do something when you get caught with no ammo or reloading. Headbutt and knockout mechanics were great so were the improved sneaking speed/controls

      pretty much this.
Absolution really was the low point in the series and the Nu games are fine of have good production and replay value but they don't have that classic feel that was present up to Bloodmoney.
Not a bad thing per se but just a thing that should be communicated and expected among fans.
