7/10, has a lot of issues but I can't be bothered posting the pasta and getting into an argument over it
I don't think it was worth the nearly two decade long wait
Metroid is one part of the metroidvania genre name, it should have been so much more yet Dread is just a blip on the radar

I liked it a lot and I am glad to have played it.
I look forward to whatever comes next.
Now that the dust has settled, I think Westerners should keep their filthy fricking hands off of Japanese media

Movement and battles were awesome.
The map is cool, but they can do better. Maybe the setting was not the best, although i fricking love Raven Beak.
*Mogs samus in her own game*
>we
-I- think it's fantastic.
Also, frick you for not using the damn subject line.
Think whatever the frick you want about it, you absolute worthless fricking Black person homosexual moron
It was good. But nothing particularly unique stands out about it to me.
It doesn't have the vast amount of content that Hollow Knight does or the mining mechanics of Steamworld Dig 2 and it's just overall a technically competent Metroid game, but I feel like things should be, I dunno, more at this point.
I love it, after fusion its my favorite metroid not counting prime series
I had fun with it and am looking forward to more metroid games
Easily the best metroid. But it doesn't get nostalgia points so super gays will say it's bad.
Samus feels great to control, the movement is fun, and the boss fights have never been better in a Metroid game.
However, the world is boring, linear and forgettable. They rely on the Teleportals to ferry you exactly where you need to be so you never have to remember anything about the world and its layout, even though that's a big part of games like Super Metroid, and the "Metroidvania" genre as a whole. Too streamlined for its own good in my opinion.
Unmemorable areas except Cataris, nonexistant soundtrack, enemies could use a bit more than a counter to take down sometimes. In all other aspects it is a worthy entry in the series.
redeemed the series after the mess that was Other M
Game plays like a dream. Seriously I won't pretend to know the science of it, and I'm sure animation is a factor, but the game feels amazing to play. I will blast through it whenever. Quickly became one of my favorite singleplayer games to just pick up.
a great game and if you didn't like it you can suck my fricking dick
I got lost a lot lategame. and frick that emmi section where the fricker can see through walls and you have to avoid him UNDERWATER.
It's great, would love to have another Sakamoto q and a so he can explain the ending.
It became the best Metroid game. On the same leagues as Super Metroid and Prime 1. I can get if others prefer those, but Dread was just the best paced, most enjoyable experience out of them. I specially loved the boss battles, Raven Beak is the best final boss in the series, both in gameplay and gravitas of the setting. Only really matched in that last aspect by Dark Samus in Prime 2
Great game, not perfect by any means but it gave me hope for this series again which I honestly was not expecting.
It's fantastic to me. Fun bits of environmental story-telling, great atmosphere, wonderful movement mechanics, countering is more versatile without impeding momentum, a more minimal but satisfying narrative progression, my favorite Power Suit design, and some fun post-launch content. I'm looking forward to Metroid 6 proper more than another Prime, but I wonder if they've do 6 on the Switch or the successor.
It was the doom 2016 of metroids
Easily the best combat and bosses in the series, and exploration was a huge step up from Fusion while still kind of straddling its conventions. A bit on the nose about acknowledging sequence breaks as hard as it does but honestly, that's a pretty cool touch.
I think some of the button combinations were unnecessarily obtuse. I posted about a particular example, but I can't think of it now since I haven't played the game in a while. Basically, there were some upgrades that required several buttons to be held when the switch controllers could have easily managed it without so many buttons involved.
Atmosphere was pretty weak for a metroid. Raven Beak was arguably wasted.
Fantastic game. Middling soundtrack and the need to button mash being my only issues.
>the need to button mash
I'm drawing a blank. Are you just talking about shooting multiple projectiles in succession?
