It's good IF you're an autist who has memorized D&D's mechanics (me). I liked it because I get to roll the funny 20-sided dice and something funny happens depended if I met or didn't meet a certain number. I am easily entertained.

It’s Dungeon and Dragons based which is easily the most pozzed Western fantasy setting for over a decade now so yeah it’s pretty up there.
It is impossible to discuss on Ganker without 300 replies of /misc/incel seething, that's all I have to say about that.
Great game, just needs some modding tools on the same level as Bethesda games. I think it would be great if people created their own DND campaigns for people to play.i don't know enough about game development to know how realistic this would be for larian to do

Has a really strong first act followed by a solid second into a dogshit third.
Progression is fricking embarrassing but what do you expect from 5e.
Characters are all super annoying
Main story was fine barring random moronic shit nearly all with Baldurian.
Not a bad game but it really shows how normalgays only care about presentation and grafix more than gameplay and writing.

Act 3 is clearly unfinished.
The quests are all super linear no choices, compare the fireworks factory where the only choice is to murder everyone and nothing else to basically every minor quest in act 1.
Theres also a bunch of hidden lockouts so if you do things in the unintentional wrong order you can frick yourself which wasnt really a thing prior.
It was act 5 divinity 2 all over again showing Larian pulling the same bullshit over and over.
Its also annoying that the main subgoal of the chapter is to gather your allies but the end result of doing so makes the final battle a complete joke. Not that the game had much difficulty past the half way point but I didnt expect that summoning the helpers you worked for just steamroll everything damn nearly on their own

10/10 game for me. The only downside is you don’t realize just how easy the game is the first time you play it. All the difficulty comes from not being familiar with the systems. Once you know them… well every fight is just you steaming rolling it, with 4 character or even solo. At least on tactician. I have my doubts Honor mode is truly challenging. All the difficulty comes from not being able to load a game because you forgot about a surprise attack and rolled bad initiative for once and the enemy gets 15 turns before you get one.
Honor mode is pretty challenging, I lost my run to the owl bear fight the other day. I didn't realize the owl bear would get a special legendary action. I thought this only applied to bosses

Anything that's in its lair like an owlbear in its cave or a spider in its nest also has a legendary action.

Honor mode has the same issues that something like XCOM has where the early game is hard because you don't have anything to work with. By the time you get to Act 2, you'll be steamrolling people if your build is right. Cazador was the only one in Act 3 that caught me off-guard because his Legendary Action nearly one shot my main character just by walking into melee range of him.
Overall, it was quite fun at least.

Not really. Anyone who's been into CRPGs previously knows it's an exception to the norm, and any normalgays that were attracted to the genre already expects full voice acting from every game they play anyway.

Even if you do this, you'll still run into some random world NPC that is a homosexual and offers to tell you about his perverted relationship out of nowhere.
Have fun learning about queer culture because the gays that made the game subtly peppered it all over the characters and storylines you are interacting with.

Shit 5e gameplay. The writing is awful and the characters are exaggerated like annoying anime characters but with westernshit quirks. Ends up being the worst of both worlds. The competent thing about the game was the massive astroturfing campaign which is something Hasbro and WotC have done numerous times in the past to damage control

the difficulty curve is fricked, but that's mostly the fault of the ruleset
once you get to about level 7-ish there's not much the game can really throw at you even on tactician
what difficulty? Tactician was pisseasy from start to finish
in 5e you're basically a superhero from level 5
some of the really early fights are obnoxious as frick on tactician, but that's it
they throw resurrection scrolls at you for that very reason.
But I don't think I reloaded a lot - the first battle after tutorial ( I think i left sh at the beach and failed my rolls) and an early attack on the goblincamp.

I really like it aside from act 3 having way to big of a scope and being very obviously cut down. It's not nearly as bad as morons on Ganker exaggerate but it has major problems
feels like they ran out of ideas for the Gortash and Orin fights, the quests are alright but nothing feels very connected, and the final boss is kinda lame
I still don't understand why Ganker seethed so hard about act 2 when the game came out, it's fricking fine. Is it just because it's significantly shorter than act 1 or what?
i usually criticise the game a lot, but it would still be a 70% - could get to 80 if all the bugs and oversights are fixed and more stuff added I don't want to get into right now, but it does have fundamental flaws that they will not address even in the DE

Baldur's Gate 3 is a masterpiece and one of the greatest roleplaying games ever made.
Why
Because the game lived up to the hype for me, i was a huge fan of DOS2 already and BG3 not only improved on DOS2 but it also cranked it up all to 11.
The gameplay went from rich to richer and more interactive
The story got a lot better
The dialogue is now more engaging
The visuals are a massive improvement
The cinematics went from nonexistent to top tier in its genre
The music became even more varied and kept the same nice rhythm
The combat went from flawed masterpiece to the best turnbased combat system ever made
The characters went from mixed bag of great and meh to all around excellent
The voice acting went from ok to near perfect
The exploration went from good to amazing, the rewards are no longer diablo tier but actual good items that have a use.
The puzzles got better
The environment and world design went from generic forests to more distinct words that offer different tones and visual depth.
At the end of the day Baldur's Gate 3 has cemented itself as one of the greatest games of all time, the only thing that can improve this game even further is a good old meaty 10/10 expansion.

As someone who has five multiplayer saves running, I have to say the game explains its mechanics poorly. If you play with grogs with 5e experience, it'll be almost too easy, but any normalgays without RPG experience will be filtered without mercy
