It plays like a twenty year old arcade game. Its not very good. Especially later in the game as you have to min/max your build and can't really just play whatever you want.
>It plays like a twenty year old arcade game
this makes it unironically a good action game
kino bosses , a lot of freedom and meaningful depth in mech building ,a minimal but enjoyable stroy what are you complaining about ?
The actual arcade games were better and its a nostalgia cashgrab that not only brings absolutely nothing new to the table, but is a step backward. For a full game pricetag no less.
Sorry no, there is no meaningful depth in the builds either. There's a decent variety of weapons to play with but its extraordinarily shallow and superficial compared to other mecha games.

So? A free to play game had more unique robots and builds in it than AC6, a full price AAA game. It doesn't matter what genre it is.
>Even Hawken >When the contrarianism shoves its wiener so far into your mouth it goes all the way into your ass and you start leaking all kinds of shit
I don't know whats contrarian about it to you. People played and talked about Hawken for a long time after it came out. AC6 not so much.

I hate that when you talk about hawken and not the really good multiplayer fps it was originally. It used to be phantom crash but multiplayer only.
>Even Hawken >When the contrarianism shoves its wiener so far into your mouth it goes all the way into your ass and you start leaking all kinds of shit
you do realize your mech has 5 times the stats of other souls games right ?
from jumping and movement to energy efficiency ,tracking , dodging , etc
and the stats are somewhat interlocked so that there is no OP part with all good stat , there is always a compromise somewhere
the game has by far the most intricate system , it's like you didn't even check the menu
This is some Idiocracy shit. >More numbers more gooder
They have zero meaningful impact on anything. Its pointless fluff, a psychological trick for morons. At best you can change the way it handles with different types of legs and this actually makes an important mechanical difference. Even then the most impactful thing is hit point bloat rather than the new functionality.
Since you only played Titanfall, you have little frame of reference for how not good AC6 actually is. At least every titan was unique in that game even if it had no real customization.
is there a stat in particular that you don't see the point of ?

The only one I ever needed to pay attention to was targeting because it influences what range you need to keep your target at to land hits reliably. That's an actual mechanical impact on gameplay.
I liked it. Fine game for coming back after not making mech games after so many years.
Hoping the continue making more, refining the gameplay, and adding more content
autoaim ruined it
tanky mechs can't reliably dodge anything, yet there still needs to be a skill check somewhere to determine if the player can defeat the boss or not : there isn't one, because autoaim
it's the lock in general instead of it being free aim
the game is entirely about movement and then you have a line of mechs that don't rely on movement at all, which in turn creates a disparity in efficacy between light and heavy mechs
so idk, game's mechanics are too simple I guess
heavy mechs must be able to beat the game by design
to achieve this, since they can't reliably dodge attacks, the player ideally should master some other mechanic to get progressively better, beat the boss or whatever
this mechanic can be free aiming or anything else you can think of
such mechanic is not in the game, therefore, for a light mech to achieve the same result as a heavy mech effortlessly can, it has to master movement options while also having less equipment options because maximum load
the game's mechanics are not well thought out basically
you do unlock something similar to free aiming though the os tuning , I don't know how useful that is really but you can try that
I have never tried a tank build ,they are too slow for my dopamine addicted brain but I'm pretty sure everyone thinks tank build with two gatling guns /songbirds are OP

>I have never tried a tank build
try it, you'll see what I mean
you spawn in, press the triggers and you're pretty much done : everything will die and that's the game
I 100% it at release with very light mechs myself, and I enjoyed it, but it got fairly annoying how leg parts work as some sort of difficulty slider
makes the min maxing aspect of mech building feel dumb
It was a new armored core game and that something to be celebrated. As a long time player it was a little on the easy/forgiving side but they had to ease newer soulsbabies in to mech autism. Would have preferred less bosses and more longer, conserve your ammo type missions but I get it.
It definitely got me curious about the older games in the franchise. I recently completed the PS1 trilogy (one without Human+ and one with) and I'm pretty pissed that Armored Core flew under my radar as a kid. I would've loved this shit!
PROS:
-Exeptional set piece moments
-Memorable cast of characters
-controls are solid, finds a good balance between weight and speed
CONS:
-Part & Gun selections are very limited
-the music generally lacks the punch the series is known for, outside of a few outlying tracks.
-while good for newcomers to the series, the game is overly forgiving and is too easy
>the music generally lacks the punch the series is known for, outside of a few outlying tracks
This is actually because the audio balance is really bad by default. The ost slaps but it is set way to fricking low
They were in a weird position. It's like they didnt know if the music, the hud audio, or the clang clang of big metal and engines so each sound profile overlaps into the other and muddies all of them into a noise soup.
I really liked the game , it was also my first mech / AC game. It’s not without its flaws and off screen mentioning of stuff like Walter getting reeducation therapy or whatever, but I thoroughly enjoyed it
The NG+ sucks, they should add a new arsenal at each playthrough. The enemies are way to easy. The soundtrack is forgettable. The bosses in the first playthrough are nice, and lance+pilebunker is the best (and most fun) way to play. 7/10, would pirate again if they ever release a DLC.

>other mecha games
such as? the only other mecha game i know is titanfall, you should at least be thankful to From for popularizing a near dead genre
All of them. Even Hawken is a major upgrade from AC6. I'm not thankful at all and From owes me a handy for buying this schlock.

>that time fromsoft got bored and won Girl of the Year without even giving her a physical design
genuinely hilarious
Pretty much the definition of average.
The discord is in full swing, almost makes you think they made the thread.
never played an AC game before
somehow it's my second favorite game now after sekiro
This though. I never played a FROM game until sekiro, I liked sekiro so much I got AC6
I liked it. Fine game for coming back after not making mech games after so many years.

Not until another decade of copypasted rollslop passed

isn't that why the they have more AP and posture resilience ? I think they recover faster also

Didn't it light a fire under Mecha devs asses? I thought I saw there were more mecha games coming out.
it was pure kino, that's what went right
I wish from made a mechwarrior game instead
I like stomping around in first person but mechwarrior games suck
It was a new armored core game and that something to be celebrated. As a long time player it was a little on the easy/forgiving side but they had to ease newer soulsbabies in to mech autism. Would have preferred less bosses and more longer, conserve your ammo type missions but I get it.

You got Rusted Pride, the final boss themes, Contact With You, maybe Coral Guardian, anything else I'm missing?
I suppose it's not what the people who have this issue are looking for, but I really liked the menu theme
I don't know how the garage theme flew over my head.

It's really good for an anime game. Hits all the beats you expect from an anime adapted into a vidya.
"Contact With You" is overrated. It could play in a car commercial
>It could play in a car commercial
It pretty much did.
from soft gundam game when
Depends on which Gundam series. Please G Gundam.
Played it 3 times
enjoyed it each time
wish there was online pve
that is all.

It was great. From keeps mogging the west and even improving in gameplay and story telling.
