I think you should have a number pad if you use one. If you don't find yourself using the number pad, you probably don't need one.
Wow, this is the dumbest argument I've seen on the internet in a long time
Rope you'reself
MODS
Are you genuinely fricking moronic? Fricking troll piece of shit frick off back to 9gag

We know you will, troon. That's what your type does, project and groom.

>I think you should have a number pad if you use one.
Dumbest argument I’ve ever heard. Can’t wait for summer to end.

Fricking hell.
If your keyboard doesn't have a numpad have a nice day.
/thread
Giga based.
Type numbers quickly. Even if you don't use, you can rebind it to suit your needs.

typing numbers
and roguelikes
>Degenerate homosexual who can't type
>Telling people to kill themselves
Take your own advice wiener sucker
>ESL shitter
have a terrible christmas, pedro
>Can't read proper English
>Thinks I must be ESL
lmao nice projection homosexual. You still need to have a nice day.
ah got it, you're completely moronic. frick off now, thirdie.
You can't even tell proper English from broken English, ESL. You can stop projecting now lol
Damn I really wanted to kill myself but my keyboard has a numpad. Oh well.
i have a 2md keyboard thats just a numpad that i pull out on the left of the keyboard if i need it
which is like only when im playing a roguelike or doing taxes
what is with you weirdos and putting it to the left? you type on numpads with your right hand, even when it's connected to the keyboard.
but yes, separate numpad is best life.
it's easier to play RTS games if the numpad is on your left
Its really nice when inputting sequences of numbers and using tab/enter isnt possible (or sensible). This is case with most in-house programs. Right hand uses cursor, left hand inputs values.
I tried a TKL and kept going for the numberpad so I exchanged it for a normal keyboard.
For real, you don't realize how much you use something until it's gone.
False. Cut people don't know what's it like to have a foreskin
>thinking people remember being a newborn
moron.
>pay more money and decrease your options of playing
yeah i'm gonna stick to my 4$ keyboard
What do you even use the numpad for?
putting in numbers
Hotkeys
Roguelikes
Old games
Macros
Simulators
Emulation
Autistic preference
There you go
Emulation? With a keyboard?
why arent you using a gamepad?
I mean unless you are emulating the FM-Towns or something
It's easier and faster to input number sequences on it
Alt-keys, skills.
should have a dedicated key for killing yourself
>What do you even use the numpad for?
whatever you want you doofus, you can bind your keys to do anything. numpad is easy as hell to memorize and its at a very convenient place on a keyboard.
3D Stuff. its VERY useful
Im an accountant
blender and unreal engine
Putting in large amounts of numbers quickly and with less errors. Supper useful for any company dealing with numbers... Like every company ever that buys/sells stuff and has paid workers.
Furthermore its very useful in 3D applications.
And finally, its by far the best way to input "Alt + keycode" symbols. New versions of Windows are minimum effort spyware - you cannot input keycodes using normal number rows anymore. This happens very often - something as simple as degree symbol is a pain to add nowadays without numpad.
>New versions of Windows are minimum effort spyware - you cannot input keycodes using normal number rows anymore
That's been going on ever since Windows XP.
I use it instead of wasd
Arma.
Numbers. Page up/down while also having access to the arrow keys with zero movement. Roguelikes.
Soundpad.
hotdialing your mom
In addition to other things people said:
It's a more comfortable place to bind stuff two than arrow keys if you're ever playing a two-hands on keyboard game. I bind movement in fighting games or shmups there for example (as I'm not a mentally moronic monkey incapable of using anything but WASD for movement)

Being able to punch numbers in at your standard typing speed is a godsend when you actually need to start punching in numbers. Any game that lets you put shit on the market board feels much better with it. Any game that's complicated enough to have a spreadsheet of any information flows much quicker once you learn 10key. You want to minmax your damage output? Your calculator works a lot faster on keypad. 10key is stickshift for your keyboard, anybody that really uses their keyboard for fun wants one.
They're also great for keybinds for more complicated games, too. In Skyrim, I had a mod and used a keypad to grab and pose objects in the world so I could take fancy screenshots. Someone else said they're critical for doing anything silly with Garry's Mod, I agree.
I'm emulating very old PC games, good luck playing anything with the number row without going through the effort of remapping it all with a 3rd party tool.
Hell even the bog-standard numpad isn't enough at times.
Also it just types numbers faster, is useful for a variety of professional software and is good for hotkeys. You're not snipping my keyboard.
Jaxonz Positioner in Skyrim and C:DDA.
They are hotkeys in mpc-hc to move around, stretch and zoom in on videos.
easy access to 'Enter'
Camera controls.
Keypads make entering numbers 100x easier than the 1-9 in a straight line. Also it's nice to have keybinds for things you don't use that often but still want bound (hide ui, take screenshot, toggle walk etc)
makes it quicker easier to call ur mom on skype lol
Two player flash games
Typing numbers? It's far quicker on the numbpad than by using the number row. It's also excellent for hotkeys and macros
>roguelikes
>typing in codes in immersive sims
>calculators are better to use with it
>macros
>hotkeys
>Sid Meier's Pirates! (2004)
Spamming voice lines in Diablo II.
DIE
DIE
TIME TO DIE
DIE
HERE, THIS IS FOR YOU
DIE
Elona movement. Also it's faster for typing numbers than the numrow.
>Faster to type numbers in general which is a common occurrence daily.
>Can press Enter easily with my thumb when using my mouse.
>Easier to quickly do math with when I use the calculator.
There's just no reason not to have it. You gain absolutely nothing from losing it outside of what, two inches of desk space horizontally?
>Easier to quickly do math with when I use the calculator.
Not if you're doing real mathematics with functions()
I don't need to use that in day-to-day life.
If all you're doing is arithmetic over and over and over you should be using a spreadsheet tbh
I think you misunderstood, I'm just talking about using it with the calculator when I need to do something quick I can't do mentally. It goes by really quickly compared to the main keyboard numbers since I don't need to hold Shift for * or +.
Playing ff7.
Triforcing
I use it heavily when I need to work with spreadsheets. Mostly to input data.
I use it a lot outside of games, but when it comes to games it's basically free keybinds for mods.
A numpad for modded Minecraft is a massive QoL. Same with Garry's Mod. Bethesda games.
Excel because I have a job and don't play video games
Alternative arrow keys. No joke.
Numing.
Carmageddon because it's the main control scheme. Gmod for the thruster buttons, and i use it for my v-tuber software.
The dame thing you use capslock for. Any time you need to type more than 3 consecutive numbers in a row.
It's also useful for assigning less used commands to in vidya, or for hitting enter whem your hand is on the mouse.
Microsoft Excel you fricking UNEMPLOYED Black person LIVING IN YOUR MOTHER'S BASEMENT.
If you want to identify NEETS and other USELESS people in society, ask them what is the point of a numpad.
Keybinds for my soundboard so I can play 10 different variation of the word "Black person" while playing video games.
To quickly google the unknown phone number calling me to decide if I should answer.
fricking ~~*captchas*~~
I like the extra desk space. I sometimes shift around and sit like a homosexual so the keyboard needs to be in a lot of places where I find it comfy.
Used to be a big numpad gay but honestly my computer already keeps the credit card numbers saved and I don't use the calculator that much on the gaming desktop anyway. I think for gaming I used it for Garry's Mod thrusters in 2005 and typing in key locks in some games but not much else.
There was a day TKL was less. Like the same model without a numpad was cheaper. Maybe it's still like that, I don't know, the current chink TKL I have now was cheaper than the same model with the keypad.
>There was a day TKL was less
still true
>like the extra desk space
All 2 inches of it?
Maybe get a bigger desk
Next you're gonna tell me that Membranes are better than Mechanicals
>guy writing a "geek" article also thinks you don't need a numpad
how am I supposed to enter orthographic view in blender then? the writer of that article looks like a iphone
deskspace? yes
Money? TKL keyboards are very often more expensive.
I only use a numpad at work though.
No, I like more numbers
No, I live in a country that has different symbols instead of numbers under the F row (like +ěščřžýáíé)and I refuse to hold Shift every time I need a number
You Don't Need a Foresking on Your Penis
Let me guess, you NEED more?
chastity cage moment
I wish
I'm a chastity gay and I wouldn't use one of those gay ass keyboards
>circumsized keyboard
Why pointless arrows on the keys when there is no key to press and hold to have them work?
Also
>no numbers
lmao
>no numbers
>no enter
>no space
>no alt-function
???
Who the actual frick though that thing was a good idea.
>hold down semicolon
>arrow keys activate.
Ganker is braindead and can't think creatively, it seems.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;^
You need space and enter, at the very least.
Also how is your little sister supposed to play games with you without a number pad? that's the player 2 territory
She sits on my lap and play single player games, we take turns
>linear number keys for weapons/hotbar items
>numpad keys for voice commands/scripts
>You don't need X
You don't need a keyboard either
You don't need most of the things you own in life
But you want them
And I want my fricking numpad so stop being a preachy little shit
keyboard autists are fricking stupid
bought one of these a year ago and never looked back
>this is the moronic face of a homosexual that doesnt have keypad on his keyboard
Eat shit Corbin.
You aint telling me what I need or do not need on a keyboard.
homosexual mods should delete this shit thread on the spot.
>Corbin
even his name is fat
You just know this gay has 'smart' lightbulbs he controls with his iPhone
amerigoblin halfspics are the most mindless consumers
>you don't need a number pad
speak for yourself tubby
why does not having a numpad make people on Ganker seethe so hard
Why does having a numpad makes morons ssethe so hard?
It doesn't, moron. Read the OP and think about who posted this thread and then read all the seething replies
why does the antichrist constantly attempt to lower our standards of living and gaslight us into believing that paying more money for less hardware is a good thing.
>more money for less
But smaller layouts within the same series of keyboards do cost less you homosexual.
No idea where you morons get this idea from.
If you end up paying more for a tkl than a full size board you're a fricking moron and you only have yourself to blame
Of course you're going to pay more than $5 for a mechanical keyboard. Stop being fricking moronic, you're not impressing anyone on an ANONYMOUS image board.
Ganker doesnt like TKL cause they feel like a big man if they spread their arms wider
Never saw the point in a numpad, but then I'm not a monkey doing data entry work so the 5 times a day I have to type a number are easy enough to do with the number row instead. My keyboard has a numpad on the side legends I can access by holding a function key, but I've never used it.
>not using a TKL with a separate numpad so you can put it to the left of the keyboard
except I'm right handed so no thanks.
Just get a 1800 layout keeb, moron.
this
i also use a touchpad below the keyboard, it's good on linux to quickly move between workspaces
a number pad is more convienent to me than using button combinations
I never used my numpad either but I want it anyway
What is 4 inches of extra keyboard really going to harm?
What I said to your wife last night.
Ask your father what four inches has unleashed into this world.
Just asked him. He said he would have been your father but the dog beat him over the fence.
weak
I need my numpad to play Elona+
Azertychad here so numpad is pretty much mandatory for me
75% is the best layout. Having the arrow cluster right on the edge of the board makes finding it easier than the stupid 94% or whatever it is they call that smooshed numpad board, same with page up/down. TKL is stupid, I don't like the gap from arrow keys to shift/ctrl. For RPG maker games, 75% gives you all the controls you need one handed, which is super useful.
>Need
You also don't need clickbait articles but there you are.
>waste of deskspace
My desk is like 1.5 meters long
I could fit 5 keyboards side by side on it
Because those 3 inches of extra space is so useful?
his hand takes more space than usual
number pad is so much faster than using the top number bar
No numpad no buy
I use it, and if I can't have it I aint buying that shit
not for gaming but numpad is used for all kinds of office work. when you're having to type numbers all day numpad is much more efficient
only cucks work office jobs though
Don't you have a septic tank to clean?
what are your feelings on being replaced by AI?
thats an actual necessary job for our society to function. making fun of it while you're slouching over or your keyboard trying to make mr. shekelstein 0.2% more profits just makes you look like a stupid butthole
yeah and there's a lot of them. like you do realize the biggest use case aside from gaming for computers is office work
yes lots of jobs will soon be obsolete with AI
t. doesn't play roguelikes
If you have to type in numbers all day manually then reconsider what you're doing or write a program to do it for you. Only brainlets need a numpad.
but it's faster to write that program if you've numpad
No idea how it would make programming faster, unless you manually type in numbers for minutes at a time while programming, in which case, refer to my post for a solution
Yeah, just like apple products have a good use for braindead people who don't want to learn about the tool they're using. If you can't even use a simple scripting language by plumbing together code from stack overflow, something an 80 IQ pajeet is able to do, then you shouldn't be using a computer.
homie, making eating utensils, or warmth, or electricity isnt difficult. However you arent making those from scratch because it isnt worth it. Similarly it doesnt make for a person hired for doing something else than programming to learn making programs from a scratch. Yes, you'll gain short-term benefits IF your software allows running arbitrary code (spoiler: highly likely they dont, as this would be ridiculous security risk). If not, you have to clear things with management. Now they know you could automate your work away. What do you think happens next? They pat you on the back and pay you for 8 hours of work forever when they know all you do is press <run program>? Time well spent.
You only see "this problem could be solved with a program". Yes, it could. But for vast majority who dont specialize in programming, learning how code works, learning a new language and being competent enough to (safely) jury-rig other people's code for your purposes isnt sensible. A boring job is better to have than no job at all.
Ask yourself: why do we have a caste of office drones whose work is completely useless because one guy could automate it all away? Imagine if we kept all the horses around after we invented cars, because else they'd be sad or something.
You simply have no business being around a computer if all you do is use it as a glorified clipboard to write down shit nobody cares about. Just like you don't strap horses in front of your car and have them pull the car instead of using the goddamn motor.
Automate that adult daycare away. Total wagie death.
So you admit numpad has good use. Its great if you cant make a program to do stuff for you. Considering over 90% people dont know how to program stuff (holds true for both US and EU), you just admitted numpad is useful for vast majority of people. Those who dont need it are a marginal group. Most benefit from it.
I use my numpad to type in my password and other things. it is far more efficient than using the part on the upper part of the keyboard.
no its not
i type at 150 wpm and i dont have a numpad. numpad is for tech illiterate boomers
>i type at 150 wpm
No you don't
Weird because it sounds like you're the one intimidated by a keyboard.
love the numberpad, always use it for macros or scripts on 1 button
what with all the numpad threads recently. you Black folk seriously arguing over this shit now?
I don't even know games that use numbpad for the average moron here to even cry about
it's embarrassing how many people out themselves as a slave
>I don't even know games that use numbpad
any game can use them
literally 99.9 percent don't even need them
only troonys who play wow or geriatric boomers need numbpad for playing military sims
you're just a jealous subhuman zoomer piece of shit
this is actually the first one I've seen i didn't know people were this opinionated about a bunch of numbers on a keyboard.
even if you don't use it, no one wants to have less features on they keyboard.
but that's the purpose of that article, it's not trying to give you a compelling point, it's just trying to rage bait you into clicking, if its even a real article
you're not giving up anything
you're simply exchanging for a different size and ergonomics
you don't lose out on anything by not having a numbpad
u lose out on the numpad doe
which has 0 purpose in 99.9 percent of games unless you are a moronic homosexual who plays modded minecraft or a homosexual who plays wow
or grandpa playing arma 3
Wrong.
You cannot input keycodes into normal number row anymore. If you remove numpad, you are factually giving up useful functions.
Numpads are a necessity rather you like it or not grandpa.
weird argument troony but okay
>even if you don't use it, no one wants to have less features on they keyboard.
yes I do. its called bloat moron.
My keyboard has more features than yours though
easily the gayest keyboard I've ever seen
Que?
even with the fountain pen collection the full sized regular keyboard is still straighter
this is the worst keyboard i've seen in my life
Okay troony
the longer i look at your keyboard the worse it gets
>no function keys
>no @ key
>no windows key
>has guitar tone knob because you're a quirky lil gay aren't you.
>has a numlock key despite no number pad?????
>2 space keys
>backspace in the top right
I am vomit.
>no function keys
Press the Fn key
>no @ key
What the FRICK are you talking about? @ is always Shift+2 even on normal keyboards
>no windows key
That's what the ^ keys are for
>has guitar tone knob because you're a quirky lil gay aren't you.
It's called functionality, something you troony homosexuals are scared of.
>2 space keys
One is enter when tapped, another layer of keys when held.
>backspace in the top right
As it is on all keyboards worth using.
I give you 2/10 for the bait, you got me to respond.
>@ is always Shift+2
no it's " on non virgin keyboards
>It's called functionality
>" just press the Fn key"
XD
>One is enter when tapped, another layer of keys when held.
That is even worse
>no it's " on non virgin keyboards
Not on real keyboards
>That is even worse
How is more functionality "worse"?
Thing I like the leata is the small shift key. If you can make it work though then hey more power to you. I'm not the biggest fan of the colors.
What does the knob even do though?
>What does the knob even do though?
Anything you want
Capitalism says otherwise, communist homosexual
>no numpad
Factually false.
Noone wants a circumsized keyboard. Acting like a contrarian homosexual and pretending you like tkl has a very good effort/attention ratio.
tl;dr: Easy (You)s.
I can't imagine writing a series of numbers on the fricking number key line
>TKLs should be easier and cheaper to make than full keyboards
>costs more anyway
if theres anything to prove this is just to scam morons out of money it's this fact alone
it's not about the form but quality of materials, switches etc
nobody makes a membrane tkl otherwise it'd cost less
Oh look, another fat libtard gives his unwanted opinion!
If you’re left handed the number pad are the best keys to assign to movement and skill hotkeys. I’m right handed and I still often use them for gaming
This was debunked.
I need to verify this debunking, please provide sources for peer review purposes.
s-sauce?
Doing Excel with no numpad is awful. The PC is not just for playing Doom
numchads stay winning
>Do you agree that non-TKL keyboards are a waste of deskspace and money for gaming?
Same as your testicles
I don't need a right mouse button or a scroll wheel either homosexuals.
who the frick thought that was a good idea
Literally optimal
What does the monkey key on the far right do
activates the chimpout protocol security system in your house
96s are literally the best layout if you need the numpad but I like the styling of the 1800 better.
Or southpaws
I have a 75% but I ended up buying a bluetooth number pad which I can stow away when not in use
The numpad should be on the left side of the keyboard. Change my mind.
>left handed people
I'm right-handed, anon. I simply feel my left hand would benefit from the keypad on the left side for gaming. Also opens up more room for your mouse on the right.
Get lefthand keyboard or separate numpad that you can move around
its called southpaw, or just get a separate numpad like a white person
only that throws me off the is the navigation keys layout but other than that, this actually looks really practical.
My keyboard has a detachable numpad which can go on either side of the board
One of my keyboards has macro keys on the left, I got annoyed at them and removed them.
Good point, I might end up hating the frick out of it. I'm used to using the edge of my board to know where shit is. Escape is always top left corner, etc.
>first israelites convinced morons that they should buy mouse with holes in them so they can save money on material
>now they are doing the same with Keyboards, saying that you should pay more money to have less features
What the frick is wrong with gamers? Is there a single more moronic and gullible consumer base?
Circumcised keyboards existed before speed holes in mice.
Yeah but it was not pushed and shilled like crazy like now.
Every troony has one now and for some reason trannies are obsessed with keyboards now.
you better get them gamer light and gamer chair while you're at it
>Is there a single more moronic and gullible consumer base?
yes, gamers are some of the most critical of what their consume, you should see the stuff women buy
>gamers are some of the most critical of what their consume
Yeah... the consumers that pay more to have less features, paying more to have fricking holes in their mouse.
just read the posts in this thread and ask yourself if any of these people know any women aside from their mother
You Don't Need a Woman Other Than Your Mother
>Be me
>Not use qwerty
>Need the numpad because hitting shift and using top row is annoying and uncomfortable.
Non full keyboards can go frick themselves.
same here, curse this azerty keyboard. I want to change the keycaps to to qwerty but it fricks with my muscle memory and i can't type without looking at the keyboard anymore. I can do it just fine on my phone though
Honestly I actually switched away from qwerty.
Because I needed symbols that are specific to my native language.
But yeah whether I use the qwerty for my language or standard layout for my language either way top row is used for letter/symbols instead of numbers.
Numpad is a must.
keyboardgays are the most obnoxious, even worst than RGBgays
>I will tell you what to think
Frick off already
numpads are pretty handy for roguelikes
>they're just number keys
>and you can bind whatever you want to them
>what? but they're number keys that's for accounting
>i know, you can also bind them to do whatever you want
>but i dont need a calculator in a game
>i know, you can use them to do whatever you want
>but .. but they're number keys ....
>are you alright???
num pad makes typing numbers so much easier, you can do it with one hand pretty fast since their all near each other. Plus i use it for keybinds in games (for example i bound classes to the num pad in tf2 so if i want to play scout i press 1, soldier 2, pyro 3 etc)
They layout is great in general. The thumb can easily access the 0 and arrow keys while the pinky can comfortable access the two keys in the right. I can use it to play action and platforming games single handedly so long as the camera is fixed
I've never used a numpad for anything but roguelikes. So I don't know what people normally use them for but I like them for said roguelikes so I say keep them around
>G815, a pretty decent, wired, low-profile mechanical keyboard
>Only comes in full size
>G915, the same keyboard except wireless
>Comes in full-size and tkl
Frick you too Logitech.
You deserved to get fricked if you use logitech devices. nothing good ever came out of that company.
G502.
All this thread does is remind me how COMPLETE ASS the SteamVR2.0 keyboard is. Worst I've seen in my gaming history. It doesn't even have ctrl/alt.
How do I play Sid Meiers Pirates then?
What about a numpad on my mouse
dousn't look comfortable to play roguelikes on
I wish they'd make a new one. The greatest thing about these mice is that goated for productivity too.
I'd probably get one if I still played mmos
How fast do you want to wear your thumb out?
The buttons are oriented and shaped in a way that you can really just roll your thumb over them rather than having to do any flexing motion. I've been using it for almost a decade and I can't imagine going back.
I tried this shit and those keys are way too small on virtually all mouses.
I use one of these to play final fantasy. It works great for stuff like that that has slow cooldowns between actions, but for action games or shit like that you're better off using a shooting macro on a single button.
This thing is unironically amazing at the price point. I thought it was gonna break, but it's lasted over a year pretty vigorously and none of the paint is coming off the buttons yet and it still looks nice. The top of it does have a weird texture though and makes my hands sweat, but I could probably just buff it flat.. You could probably knock someone out with it if you use it like a flail. It's a lot better than it looks. It's pretty big, so are my hands, and it's perfect. Realize I'm simping for a mouse, but honestly I want them to make money and make more products.
Forgot to mention it has a software and you can key up multiple input macros. Oh, and it's RGB not just purple. 5 way DPI selector.
but you gays are scared of buttons.
Looks like a nightmare to clean though, can you open it up or is it one of those mice that are just permanently sealed shut?
I actually haven't even had to think about that. The gaps are so small that I've been able to get finger cheese out with a thumb nail and it really doesn't get in there, it kinda builds up on the back where your palm is... It doesn't look like this thing comes apart. A toothbrush would work 100% on this thing though. It's pretty flush besides that gap in the back but its not like that on the other side at all.. Did I mention it's like $33 for the wired one on Amazon?
I find that having a discrete numberpad / macropad of some sort is a far better solution then sticking one to the right side of the keyboard as a legacy solution to a use case most don't have any longer. Frankly, with a decent open firmware and macro/config system (QMK/VIA, ZMK, Bazecor) , you're better off with a 60% - 75% keyboard in most cases as most of the other keys (ins/del/pgup/pgdn,print screen, scroll lock, etc) are rarely used and superfluous, better served by simply swapping into a layer if they're needed.
I'm all in favor of extra buttons on the mouse, but the side-body grid layout was always shitty. You had to essentially disable a button to use as a thumb rest and grip/lift area. I'd rather have buttons layed out differently and/or elsewhere on the mouse.
I use a mouse with two buttons on it that I change to be shift and ctrl because I hate using my pinkie to press shift and ctrl
I tried the Razer Naga Trinity and, despite the keys being cool, the mouse was sadly built exclusively for palm grip users (it has a side rest for your pinky) and I use claw. Huge shame.
only time I've used numpad is for marking mobs in WoW
>these are the people making these threads
Ive been using microsoft wired 600 for over decade. Couple years ago I bought another one just in case current breaks, but it has some slight changes and I keep using old one.
I'm not really interested in rgb and I think mechanical keyboards are loud. What would be best (but still reasonably) priced premium keyboard with more macro buttons or some functions?
Personal preference. I have a TKL but a seperate numpad on the left for macros, keybinds etc.
Having it on the left gives me more room for my mouse and a more ergonomic stance.
Most of you need to have a nice day, you can layer one section of your standard alphabet keys into a numpad. "HoW Do yOu uSe NUMb3r PaD?!1" It's built in exactly where my right hand is without even having to move it.
only Black folk and shitskins don't have numpads because numbers scare them and they are dumb gorilla monkeys
yeah, that's why i also remove the keycaps on my number row and f row
I hate zoomers it's unreal
Jews will keep feeding that hate, and then find a way to make energy out of hate
i love my numpad and use it for one of my favorite games.
Only ever used the numpad to alt code.
Even in that instance it's kinda useless.
Any keys beyond your reach of your fingers is waste of fricking space. The right and only choice is a split keyboard with enough thumb keys, and your choice of layers to adjust to your work flow. Otherwise you always be inefficient and in no fricking world readjusting your hand out of homerow is ever going to be faster. God give me a rapid trigger hall effect split keyboard and I will never have to buy anything again.
if you are the type who switches to numpad when typing numbers, I'm sorry but you have gay Black person aids
You don't need a roof over your head or working plumbing either
You should get rid of them
You busted up crusty old homosexuals complaining about no one valuing your numpad, wait till you learn about splits.
Need more keyboards with south paw numpads
Right side us better due to access to the arrow keys with your thumb. I actually bought and learned to use a left handed mouse because it improved my workflow with the number pad being in the right
It's cool that it works for you but I don't think that will work for me
I disagree. Practically, left side would be better due to the fact you retain mouse control. Arrow keys don't let you change fields or anything of the sort, and tab field switching is unreliable.
It took me a day to learn to use a left handed mouse. Your thumb can articulate in a way that makes use of the the four arrow keys which btw can be rebound. They’re isolated from other keys which makes it less likely that you’ll press anything else by accident
It takes up the same amount of space just move the bottom keyboard further to the left moron
>keyboard is not centered so he has to type at an awkward angle

>Being able to angle my shit so I can change seating positions every so often so my ass doesn't get fricking sore.

It's not even a keyboard without a numpad, just a child's toy.

Only americans with severely compromised education wishes to not have numpads on their keyboard
I honestly can't recall the last time I used the numpad while gaming. But I use it alot while I'm not gaming
I learned it the hard way
No number pad and Bluetooth is too beauty when sit on desk and do nothing. Only small problem.. it doesn't work when you need it.
I use mine all the time. And when I use a laptop I miss it
My numpad is on my mouse
Is this a keyboard for kids and amputees? No one uses 2 hands on the keyboard for everyday use.
Show me your hands while you type you slackjawed homosexual, of course you use both hands.
Kek, if you can't type one handed you should seriously consider killing yourself.
Some of us like to type at an actual WPM you babydick Black person
games with lots of keybinds need them
if you're a moron who will never even consider playing any complex games then sure get a gay ass homosexual 46% troony keyboard before you kys
Yeah I fricking do.
Numpad's needed for binding extra keys, which you quickly run out of in sim games and other shit, like modded Skyrim. Also, that was the way to play Tony Hawk games.
the numpad allows me to play hgames and jack off at the same time
I use the arrows since I'm left handed so yeah I reeeeally need those numpads.
What about keyboards with numpad, but no arrow keys, like Model F?
troony keyboards are more expensive than normal keyboards.
Real keyboards have 104 keys. If it has less it's not a keyboard, it's some troony shit. If your troony shit cuts even important stuff like F keys just have a nice day.
frick no
only way to enjoy RLs
and probably some simulators
>waste of deskspace
dude, how small ur desk? i had like 120x30cm wood desk and it can fit my pc with 2 monitor + still had room to fit other desk ornament and shiet
>waste of money
wdym? most of non circumsized keyboard are cheaper compare to circumsized keyboard.
>you achktualy no need of numpad
wdym? it could use for multiple thing, like typing number faster, shorcut for some games, as movement key for most fightan. its not like giving you less fps anyway lmao.
If it has no numpad then it's not a real keyboard.
People who don't think numpad is necessary don't do any banking.
A lot of games, especially older games (Unreal Tournament 99 for example) actually have things bound to the numpad by default.
I got a TKL keyboard years ago and I don't miss it. The once a week that I would use a numpad to enter a 6 digit verification code isn't really worth the desk space.
Keyboard is for work, not gaming
>It's been 84 years.
Love this thing. Works fine still. Mine's a lot dirtier though. These things yellow like crazy.
I use the numpad for alt key codes, so I can call someone a β -male
I do not understand why you would want less keys on your keyboard, it doesn't make any sense.
some people NEED to put as many objects on their desk as possible in their tiny cucksheds, with circumcised keyboard you save space for few funko pops and such
Man, I can stack soft-drink cans three high and 4 rows deep on either side of me and still not knock anything over. Love me desk. Love me chair. Love me mouse. Love me house.
I drink energy drinks because I have vascular constriction and high stress, and frick, the B vitamins and caffeine keeps me alive... I'm actually underweight, so frick off. I'm not just some disgusting slob for this reason. There's fricking piss bottles everywhere too. God, I love wasting my life sitting here playing MMOs from 20 years ago.
I do things outside of gaming so yes I want the numpad.
I'm not listening to some fat frick who looks like nicocado avocado.
Anyone who is anti NumPad probably can't 10 key for shit and should off themselves.
>50% ortholinear
>my numpad is just a qmk layer
still use numpad, just not wasting physical space.
I like having a numpad.
>fat frick
opinion discarded
Give me a numpad on BOTH sides.
You TKL and 60% trannies are ruining keyboards. Want minimalist? Go 96%. Stop popularizing butchered garbage.
>I like to use circumcised boards because it's smaller and cuter tehee~
Go petition for a 41% keyboards you fricking twats. Frick YOU.
What do you guys think our interface tech will be like in the future? Brain wave scanners, eye tracking? Still kb/m? I wouldn't mind something that didn't have to be laid flat, to be honest.
Brain interfaces are the most logical step in terms of advancement, but are also going to be an absolute dystopian nightmare.
>Someone calls you a Black person on brain.net
>Hack his brain interface to force him to see feminization hypnosis in his sleep
BASED. I can't wait until the FBI turns me into the Manchurian Candidate with sissy hypno and troon voices whispering pronouns at me, every night.
I'd fricking get it but only if I could take it off. I won't get anything permanent. Refused the vaxx at the cost of my job lol.
>vaxx
>permanent
i still support you deciding if you want it or not, anon, hopefully you at least found better one
Better what? I've never had covid. Why would I get the vaxx? No offense, just a personal choice. I don't get the flu shot either.
>never had covid
The vaxx is for protection, it doesn't matter anymore when you get the virus. It would just get worse even. Same with the flu shot, or any other vaccine.
Shut up, israelite. You're not a virologist.
I've never even gotten the vaxx. Point is at least research on what you're talking about.
I know what I'm talking about, homosexual. Why are you trying to tell people to get the vaxx, when you haven't even taken it? Honestly.. Frick you. I hope you die painful, and slowly.
>I don't get the flu shot either.
It's insane to me that healthy people get the fricking flu shot every year.
Fricking hell they even vaccinate kids against chickenpox nowadays.
Anglos. Anglos everywhere. Truly the Black person of Europe.
>full keyboard
>laptop keyboard without numpad for space reasons

>literally any other configuration
troony
you hate your wrists if you refuse to use an Alice layout
Numpads are moronic tumors that take up desk space for normalgays working in the econ department and CAD tards.
Other layouts are more effective for productivity than fullsize, and you would have used programmable layers instead ages ago if you actually cared about finger travel.
>Muh macros
When is the last time during gameplay you had to lift your hand off your mouse, or your left hand travelled to the numpad for you to execute anything in a game. Be honest.
>Why can't you just be happy with your $6 Wal-Mart keyboard it types just fine!
Thread reeks of wannabe-/g/roids, poorgay Black folk, and the type of Chink gayMAN that honestly believes filling up on meat is a cheat code at all-you-can-eat buffets.
It's not called the bill of needs
No, I don't "need" one but I like to have it.
I've used laptop keyboards in the past that don't have them so it's not a big deal if it's not there but when it is I do sometimes take advantage of it (particularly useful for writing in phone numbers really quickly).
what possesses a person to cause them to come on Ganker and proselytize against buttons on a keyboard?
>paying over $100 for a keyboard
The numpad belongs on the left side of the keyboard, not the right. 75% keyboard + split numpad on the left ftw. Or better yet they make this format in one keyboard now so you can have your numpad in a more useful location and avoid keyboard bumps with your mouse while playing shooters too. Win-win
Oh, this is a marketing thread.
Nah, I just think 75% keyboards are objectively superior. If you need a numpad then get a separate one that you can move out of the way for gaming.
>out of the way for gaming
Out of WHAT way???
what way???
WHERE ARE YOU GOING Black person
>what way
By moving it to the left of the keyboard, that way. So you have more free space between hand on WASD and your hand on the mouse, you moronic israelite double-Black person.
WASD left hand. Mouse right hand. Do you assume I juggle and switch between hands with my down time?
I think they just admitted they get commission by sale and that I should purchase 2 items to replace the one I have. Which is honestly, not bad.
>has the home button but no end button
>random playstation buttons out of nowhere
moron. Also good luck pressing tab/caps/shift/ctrl/esc instead of your troonypad. Fricking zoomers.
Been using a TKL for about a year, gonna go back to a normal sized keyboard when there's a nice sale.
>waste of money
In my experience numpad keyboards are cheaper than keyless.
I get by with a tkl on my tiny desk
I use the numpad a lot when I’m trading crypto if I’m typing in a price or something. I can’t live without numpad
T.millennial
corbin looks like a dysgenic little piggy while I had girls hitting on me since highschool thanks to my jaw, cheks and chin, not to mention eyes, nose and brows, who hit on Corbin? I will never get rid of my numpad btw, you low iq mutts always lack basic comprehension too
oh yeah? well i like my numpad. so go frick yourself, davenport. round faced fat homosexual
>Ganker prides itself in buying cheap garbage that fails and requires them to spend more money over time.
why is nikocado reviewing keyboards now?
The biggest myth is that alternate layouts are more expensive. Get into cheap hotswap board clones, daughterboards and soldering and you can have whatever fricking layout you want, still be mechanical and be sub 30 bucks but unfortunately Ganker has the mechanical prowess of a porch monkey.
This is the same board where people willingly use corporate pozzed because having control over your computer makes you a troony apparently.
Imagine using locked down software that spies on you because you're afraid of someone calling you a troony on an ANONYMOUS image board.
People use Windows because it's more convenient, more supported, and still just better for gaming no matter how hard you furry cucks try to convince people playing with emulated penguins is 'good enough' now.
Thanks for proving my point, techlet.
The author is fat. I will continue to buy full sized keyboards.
I needed one for dwarf fortress.
Number pad? Do they mean the 8 way movement and wait a turn pad?
Has any roguelike tried using qweasdzxc before?
>but how will we quaff?
[g]lug, duh.
>Has any roguelike tried using qweasdzxc before?
Rogue on DOS used BYUN for diagonals, HJKL for cardinals, nowhere else to fit them.
TKLs are for manlets with tiny armspans.
Numpads should be on the left side of the keyboard. You should not have to dislocate your left shoulder or take your right hand off the mouse to use a numpad. I got a TKL and put a usb numpad on the left, never looked back.
Why would you take your hand off the keyboard when it's already there, and you can also hit enter on a right-side numpad with your thumb to open chats.
My left shoulder is fine. Have you considered maybe stretching or maybe standing up and maybe walking at least a little?
Is a numpad with a knob a meme? I have no fricking idea what you'd use it for, but it looks cool.
on keyboards it's usually used mostly for volume control, on drawing tablets for zoom
Only if you can program the knob.
Some shit I have programmed my dial for
>Tab cycling
>Desktop cycling
>Volume control
>Ganker captcha scrolling (hold shift to tab between text boxes/buttons on post box)
>Danbooru next/prev page (hold shift to cycle tabs)
>Video frame stepper
>Cursor up/down or left/right (hold shift to switch to the opposite of whatever is enabled)
>Scroll between all Ctrl+F results
Welp, sounds like it's worth it then.
Just make sure you can actually program it. Stuff like VIA and QMK configurator didn't have support for programming the dial when I made this keyboard.
It isn't that hard to program manually, but it isn't as nice and convenient as a GUI
I disagree, this year I bought a 60% keyboard after having normal 100% keyboards all my life and even months later I find myself missing some of the keys I used to have
Do not fall for the meme guys. Saving some space on your desk is nice but the benefits do not outweigh the loss of good functional buttons
its on the WRONG side of the keyboard
I like numpad because it has Enter key on the very bottom right that I can easily hit with a thumb of my right hand without letting go of a mouse
A keyboard without a numpad is like a penis without foreskin.
Literally only trannies buy compact/tenkeyless keyboards. They enjoy cutting off vital parts of their keyboard like they enjoy cutting off their dicks. Then they put gay pastel keycaps/leds on them.
If you don't use it and aren't planing on doing so, why keep it and not enjoy more space for your mouse?
>inb4 "hurr you don't use your dick either virgin, so why not cut it off"
Why is your desk so small? My keyboard is fricking massive and I still have enough room for my mouse on top of all the trash and beercans littered around.
You are mentally ill
Not having a numpad is fricking moronic
I use numpad for games and productivity multible times a day and im getting a 75% and a separate macropad cause the numpad is in the moron fricking place originally put there by some hardware programmer in 50s and now we're stuck with this garbage since kb manufacturers and customers are stupid

reminder that desktop TKLs were popularized by iMacs. apple knows their core audience is art hoes and designed their accessories to appeal to women. removing the numpad makes room for her drawing tablet, and is fine because women don't work with numbers.
Why would I give up 17 useful hotkey buttons. This shit is godlike for MMOs/Streaming/RPGS/RTS/etc.
Fricking Corbin. What a goober.
>start the morning
>drinks coffee with left hand
>uses number pad with right hand to get to Ganker
Bout all I use it for but I use it every morning.
You idiots are really going to make me collect keyboards now??? Alright, frick it
oldgays can't triforce anymore
I never understood the need for a numpad until I worked my first retail job, it's so much fricking faster to type in numbers on that thing than the buttons up top. if anything I'd remove those or at least make their default the symbols with the numbers being what you have to shift for.
>Duhh, I don't use a numberpad so you don't need to either
Okay, but I do. That guy looks like an admix potato, so his opinions are worthless to me. Oversocialised tards need to stop trying to make anything they do a trend for validation.

I don't NEED it, but I've used it before and I like it.
Fricking casuals all of you
I've always wondered how eastern languages work with qwerty sized keyboards, I suppose they must use alternate bindings a lot, right?
in jap you just write in kana and can later change it into kanji, fricking joke
language like chinese and jap, alot just right in the english romanized version and their computer converts it to japanese or chinese
you get a context menu for when there's options on the exact word you want
the alternate option is to shift in to the kana input method. chinese has a similar option but it's more complex and based on radicals.
why are trannies always against numpads
why are they always trying to trim their keyboards to 41% or whatever
why are you so obsessed with keyboards
>why are they always trying to trim their keyboards
Who is gonna tell him?
>Pad style function keys
I want it
You have to pay the toll
https://mechboards.co.uk/products/hyper-7-v4
If you're gaming use a gamepad
If you're typing have a numpad
It's that simple
If you buy a keyboard with numbers keys you may as well just buy a console because you’re going down the slippery slope to consolization.
I had a keyboard with a numpad but whenever I played FPS I'd often slam my mouse into the side of it by accident. Changing to a keyboard without one was probably the best move I ever made.
I use my numpad daily
tenkeyless is fricking gay but why do they literally always have those stupid fricking spiral usb cords? just makes it way shorter for no reason
They got you once might as well get you again
I WANT
Why doesn't your keyboard have two numpads?
>I don't know abo9ut arithmetic or mathematics
No thanks, I like doing my math on a calculator style num pad.
(Also Carmageddon plays excellent on the num pad).
Having that extra key space from forwars 8 to reverse 2, makes the reverse feels more like reverse to the fingers. Like immersion thing.
>Beta, soi homosexual faced Corbin Davenport
That's why people like him don't get b***hes
For gaming, maybe. But I use a numpad all the time for work and personal stuff so if you do things other than gaming it's very useful. Its what, 5 inches of space? My desk is like 70"+ long so who cares?
>you dont need a number pad on your keyboard
but what if I want to play roguelikes?
you don't need number pad to play Isaac or Slay the Spire :^)
oh sorry I meant "traditional roguelikes" (games that are actually like rogue)
How much was he paid off by "Big Keyboard" to trumpet their opinions so they can save money and take keys away from me?
TKL is awesome if you are playing on low sens, like any at least decent player. Anything less than TKL is troony tier. There is a use for cutting off gamepad. There is no use for cutting off anything else, just like there is no use for cutting off dick.
i use a lapdesk so I just one without a numpad to fit my mouse on it but typing any numbers make me miss the numpad. it's also good for some jank ass macros
Videogames aren't a few lads sitting around a desk anymore, at least not in AA+. They're just commodities to push as part of a mega company so you get all the mega company types. That b***h could be selling cars or movies instead of games, it's all the same to them
oh wait this is the wrong thread
damn christmas theme threw me off
Honestly, if they didn't let her into gaming she's used to 5 guys. She'd probably be a pretty successful porn star.
Oh yeah, wrong thread.. hah. nevermind..
>westoids are chopping their dicks off
>now they are chopping their keyboards off
whats next?
Co-worker of mine handed pic related to me a few months ago because he was moving and wanted to get rid of a bunch of stuff. after cleaning it up I've been using it since.
Comfy. I've been looking for some large computer towers that are 90s style. Everything is rgb hell now.
Well, at least I'm not the only one that wants to get one of those massive metal boxes so I can stick 10 HDDS and a BluRay drive in it. Was just thinking of that the other day.
>"""""more""""" functionality
>at the cost of removing half your keys and making everything a macro
Yes more functionality. Meanwhile on your $5 chink keyboard you are proud of using
>Moving your hands away from a typing position just so you can hit keys like End/Home, Page Up/Down, or the arrow keys
You low IQ techlets would never understand. Same reason you think a command line is "taking away" a GUI. You can't imagine better ways to do things, you just do what Goldberg tells you is best.
your hands away from a typing position just so you can hit keys like End/Home, Page Up/Down, or the arrow keys
is that too much effort for your HRT weakened wrists?
Why are you so keen to waste time, something you can't replace, with money, something you should constantly be replacing?
(You) are below me.
not only do i use the numpad
i also have a 25 key macro keyboard with various configurations
i have so much freedom with it that there is just a button that says Black person
To each their own, I guess. I'd rather have a full sized keyboard because I don't have baby hands.
I have the keyboard for you
Looks like the keys are very firm. I kinda like, not gonna lie. I'll take one Windows key though, please.
im not a child so of course i work and that has me punching in policy numbers and such on the numpad very frequently which i find is far comfier than not having a numpad. my bf is a neet and he doesnt like numpads so that really just tells me all i need
Corbin looks moronic
I have my foobar shortcuts set to the numpad
>someone complains about bloat
>they are, inevitably, bloated themselves
Oh, wtf why would they design that like that. Switch Alt and CTRL for fricks sake, what the frick.
Come home.
No, thanks. I love my low profile TKL keyboard.
Imagine coming to a video game board to virture signal about using a $5 chink keyboard that is designed to make Goldberg Inc. as much RoI as possible.
this is all you need
what am I gonna do without the n and i keys?
you have to chord it. chording individual letters is a last resort though since basically every word has its own chord if you memorize it. steno was invented to be able to write court proceedings in real time. i've seen some people even coding with it
FRICK OFF I LOVE MY NUMPAD
Honestly the number row at top is more cumbersome than the number pad. Get rid of that and you actually save a lot of vertical space on the keyboard.
>muh space
Do you people live in literal viet cong rat holes?
I just use my stream deck
So you pay more to get less buttons?
you can have infinite macros/buttons/whatever with stream deck moron
Sounds like a numbpad with modifiers to me
I am the complete opposite of people who want small keyboards. I'm a keyboard sizemaxxer. I have this thing and it's HUGE.
>and it's HUGE
No, it's not. That was my keyboard before I bought TKL. It's spacebar is bigger than your dick.
i have a numpad kb for my work computer, but a small numpadless kb for my personal gaming computer
