>Nvidia makes far more money on non-gaming
>AMD dropped out of the GPU race entirely. Nvidia has no competition and no reason to spend R&D on gaming GPUs
>Crypto mining dead
>Wfh dead
>Nvidia knows gamers will pay whatever outrageous amount they list (as is in the 30 and 40 series). They know gamers will whine and cry but will buy it in the end
>Artificially limit supply (most of the manufacturing focused on AI chips and the leftovers on gaming GPUs)
Quote me on this: The 50-series will be disastrous. Minimal gains and extremely overpriced.

          >AMD dropped out of the GPU race entirely.
They're the only decent value gaming gpus now. Nvidia exclusively makes overpriced low vram GPUs for AIgays now.

          Not an argument.

AMD gave up on their GPUs. Where's their 4090-competitor? They're pathetic.

Their 4080 super competitor (aka the card people actually buy and is 90% a 4090) is a 7900 XTX and its priced competitively. There was one for sale for $600 last year.

...gpu's are what powers AI, why would they stop r&d on gpu's

because AI is different from rasterization, they will invest in r&d just not in the area you care

combine that with the PS5 and xbox sex probably being the last consoles from them, and you could say it's over.

AMD's upcoming RDNA 4 "Navi 4x" GPUs are rumored to not include any high-end options, suggesting a focus on the mid-range segment. The current RDNA 3 architecture-based GPUs, such as the RX 7900 series, offer significant performance and efficiency improvements compared to RDNA 2

Reportedly the upcoming series will only target mid range.
For the following series they plan on taking on raytracing at last.

        >AMD focusing on the bracket that people actually buy at
Wow, what a surprise. Who fricking cares. I've never purchased higher than midrange anyway.

he's correct that AI, at least for the near future, will provide higher returns and the fabs are already working at capacity so it's a zero sum game. either you pay AI hype prices to get an RTX made or nvidia's not interested in selling to you. however...

AMD gave up on their GPUs. Where's their 4090-competitor? They're pathetic.

this is just nvindian cope refusing to acknowledge that their best option for gaming is AMD. they are pretending they have no choice but to overpay for RTX or have no GPU

reminder: most games are multiplat and both consoles for the last 2 generations are AMD. only stupid devs are still optimizing for nvidia to the exclusion of AMD. the sweet spot for the market is in 1080p console parity and that is what AMD is going to bank on. relatively few people want to pay a premium for hardware that isn't being used and if you think it's that important then shut up and pay the nvidia tax.

Actual "gaming" sales are even lower than that, people are buying a shitload of 4090s for AI. Believe it or not, the price of the 4090 didn't skyrocket from $1500 to over $2000 because Dragon's Dogma 2 is around the corner.

I'm still running an old build with a 1070 and with the direction things are going I'll probably buy an AMD APU for my next PC. Discrete GPU prices have gotten absolutely ridiculous, I'd rather put the money toward something else.
