It's looking good for Fallout.

>knowing what a new vegas 2 would be
That sounds dumb. A “New Vegas 2”? I’d like another obsidian fallout game, but not if it it’s a direct sequel to NV.
Pretty obvious to the non-autistic that FNV2 means another Obsidian Fallout game.
We need Dead Money 2
I'd prefer for it to be somewhere completely new.
People seem to hate the idea of a non-American Fallout but I personally would be on board. There's also plenty of places in America that haven't been done yet though.
I want a Fallout in Baja California, with the factions being the NCR, the remnants of some Cartels turned Pancho Villa type commies, a Caravan Company hoping to take the region for itself, and the wetback Enclave which are remnants of the Mexican government. The main plot would be the reopening of naval trade, it would be implied that South America, having been mostly untouched, is absurdly wealthy, and the NCR is hoping to establish maritime trade from the Baja. Cities like Cabo San Lucas and La Paz are obscenely wealthy, gunnned the frick up, and have retained a level of independence from the major factions (similar to House at the start of NV), the main quest would be getting these cities to align with a major faction. There would also be an entire piracy portion of gameplay similar to Sid Meier's Pirates.
A water-focused Fallout with boats and shit could be pretty cool.
Assuming you could get it to work in Gamebryo lol.
Yeah, I know it will never happen. The issue is that the West Coast doesn't really have another direction to go with. The NCR has secured food, water, electricity, and rebuilt society for the most part. We got tourism, industrialization, a professional military, and on and on. The next logical step would be international maritime trade. It would allow Fallout to finally expand on lore about what happened outside the US, it gives the NCR a reason to have been in Baja, it continues the logical chain of development for a post-Apocalypse society. Also I really just want Sid Meier's Pirates: Fallout Edition. Gamebryo could never handle it, so I know it will never happen.
Anything could actually work in Gamebryo. The devs just lack programming skills and technique.
Bethesda should just get id to help them.
A new west coast fallout.
I'd rather have them take a shot at the Midwest, maybe try to connect things with Fallout Tactics.
i have been saying for a while now since obshitty and inxeptble games are together they should make an isometric fallout
As long as Sawyer is working on a Fallout game, I’m in. I like his take on the setting.
Avellone did better than Sawyer.
Frick off Chris
Stop shitting up the lore
>New vegas 2
>By obsidian
>Good
Imagine being this naive.
I am curious about the inxile game though, but i'm fairly certain the frickers will make it actually isometric instead of Kinovlier Oblique like 1 and 2 was.
>Bethesda unable to work
They are working on FO4 remaster right now.
>implying shitsidian is ever going to work with AAA developers/publishers again
they've literally done the same shit each time: reeee it didn't suck we were um forced to like release it early by the mean publishers!!!!
The only fricking game they ever made that isn't utter shit in some capacity (buggy, story, characters) is the fricking south park game where all they were doing was programing a basic RPGmaker shitty game. EVERYTHING was given to them: world, story, characters, sound, art, everything. And even then it was unplayable on keyboard and mouse
My dude they were literally bought by Microsoft.
>muh sawyer
>muh avellone
I thought Gonzalez wrote the majority of the game.
He did
Sawyer wrote some companions and Honest Hearts
Avellone wrote some companions and the other much more divisive DLCs
Avellone didn't write any of the DLC's, except for Joshua Graham's lines. Sawyer was responsible for Lonesome Road btw.
Oh
Man, so they're both bad writers.
don't forget about the doom fallout remake
Didn’t bethesda recently deny their offer to make another FO?
implying becuck calls the shots anymore
time to make some of that money back from slopfield.
I bet it’s shit
The Fallout series is already all but confirmed to be a continuation of the west coast storyline and will probably bridge the storyline of both coasts together. Yeah it'll suck, don't shoot the messenger.
>Fallout series
I meant the television series if that wasn't clear.
tbh after playing The Outer Worlds I really don't have much faith in Obsidian's writing anymore. I dunno if their old writers moved on to greener pastures or something, but whoever they had on that was suffering from some real marvel-brain shit.
John Gonzalez, the real hard carry behind New Vegas, went on for greener pastures; but I have zero doubt he would come back to work on Fallout. They already have Josh Sawyer, Avellone has been exonerated, so there is a chance there, but honestly he isn't really necessary. Boyarsky and Cain are kicking around, but Tim Cain has caught a touch of the old mental 'tardation recently. Beyond meme images, the "Obsidian is OVER. NO FNV2" narrative doesn't really hold water. Canning Tim Cain would solve half their problems.
>Canning Tim Cain would solve half of their problems
Why? His views on game development sound actually reasonable compared to bullshit we usually hear about now.
Tim Cain fell for Bethesda's KISS meme, and everything I hear him say just runs absolutely counter to why Fo1 and 2 are so beloved.
>Bethesda KISS meme
the what now?
KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid i.e. streamline everything.
Tim Cain would be fine as a consultant but I'd definitely prefer for Sawyer to direct.
boyarsky and cain did outer worlds didnt they, that sucked
Yeah that's what people miss in the whole "but Outer Worlds" response, it was a totally separate team.
The hook for Outer Worlds was that it was made by the creators of the ORIGINAL Fallout, not Fallout: New Vegas. New Vegas was basically made by Fallout fans (Avellone being the closest to an OG since he worked on 2).
>Obsidian
Absolutely pozzed. Wouldn't look like anything good.
What do they eat?
Fallout: New Vegas 2 will be a misnomer, as it would not take place in the Mojave again. The Russians have been making total conversions for the isometrics for years, I really just want good translations for those.
>as it would not take place in the Mojave again
It still could, ideally New Vegas and its environs would just be shoved into the corner of the map like what they did with Shady Sands and Vaults 13 and 15 in Fallout 2.
I personally want it to take place up North with snow and shit. Basically cover what else the NCR was overstretched in handling during New Vegas (and what happened after their loss at the second battle). Mainly because I want winterized versions of the Ranger armor. This is my ideal game within the realm of possibility, my dream game is Fallout: Pirate Edition.
>Obsidian's Fallout: New Vegas 2 in development
worst possible news imaginable. obsidian is mostly rocksteady now
its not possible for a spiritual successor to new vegas to be as good of a game. staff are gone, standards are heavily raised from 2010. it was a different time quite literally
Never forget that New Vegas is one of the most lightning in a bottle entertainment products of all time. Can't really replicate that today.
>Obsidian's Fallout: New Vegas 2 in development
source???????????
https://fallout4london.com/
Can someone please explain to a lorelet what happened to Vault City?
Got taken over by the NCR iirc.
Fallout game set in post-collapse Caesar's Legion where NCR controls the towns but everywhere else is anarchic warfare
A new Obsidian Fallout will only be good if it has Josh Sawyer directing. Great if it had John Gonzalez designing.
Name an interesting new setting for a Fallout game.
I'm so tired of speculation. Are we getting a new Fallout or not? And is it being developed by Obsidian or are Bethesda holding the IP hostage?
Microsoft owns Fallout so Bethesda can't hold the IP hostage even if they want to.
There's not a single person with talent at Obsidian today, besides NV was only that good because it stole design documents from a cancelled game.
>Inxile's isometric Fallout in development
This is the only one that could potentially be good, also I swear I saw this exact thread last year.
>new vegas 2
it will be pozzed as frick, and I can already see the board being spammed with dozens of threads about it for a month
>I can already see the board being spammed with dozens of threads about it for a month
try an entire year
I love desert kino, bros
