>games that were forgotten
by that definition no one could post about them
I was so hype for this because I loved the arcade shooter but this was actually trash
Frick yeah Area 51. I'm one of the few people that fricking loved this game. Would love an HD remaster.
They won't it's soft disclosure
I tried emulators with maxed settings and it was unplayable
Unless it's changed, this one is still best played on PS2
Baal? Or Minotaur?
Painkiller won't be forgotten. Sadly it's still one of the best shooters we have.
I got so many confused boners to krystal as a kid
Condemned & FEAR are pretty explicit examples of predictive programming about lots of schizo topics by their developer (Monolith)
>MKUltra/Monarch
>Sonic weapons
>Paleolithic deep state/Neanderthal stuff
etc.
Fear was really interesting because it outwardly presents itself as your typical police/military procedural with a bunch of squadmates and then gets weird narratively. It's kind of similar to BioShock without the grandiosity and hitting you over the head with wordy explanations
>occult
>posts /x/-themed, but hardly occult game.
What the frick, OP. Do you mean /x/ in general?
Sanitarium was good.
it looks pretty good
Now that I recalled Sanitarium, I thought of some more games that are forgotten but awesome classics with occult undertones. I will add posts as I recall/find their titles.
For now, the second game I'd recommend is Loom. Very unusual adventure game, but also very unique, albeit less of a creepy mindfrick than Sanitarium, much more.. mystical fable vibe.
>Very unusual adventure game, but also very unique
Teaches me to multitask and make longer pauses while typing out a post. Redundancy ahoy.
Still, Loom's pretty great.
This one isn't as old as the earlier ones so it may be easier to recall by younger anons, but it's still largely unknown. We move away from adventure games to a shooter. The occult themes are more popculture ones, there's no deeper references, but it's still nice "eldritch abominations" theme with magic and other, darker dimensions.
Clive Barker's Undying.
A strategy game this time. Again, more of an occult themes than actual occult knowledge references - a tale of fate, regaining one's world and place in it and finally unification of what was broken into one whole as it was in ancient, forgotten times - from the perspective of truly alien race.
Awesome music, too.
The Tone Rebellion
And for the last one, at least for now, from yet another genre to round it out and fairly new (still being updated) but indie and largely unknown game. Less of a real occultism but references that you may find analogous to certain ideas in it. Great mood to it, too, quite lovercraftian or Barker's kind of it.
Cultist Simulator
I love this one, the ramblings of the character read just like the average schizo rambling post on /x/. I feel like the devs lurked here for inspiration.
>read just like the average schizo rambling post on /x/
I wish anons would have this level of writing ability, but sadly, they don't. I think both LARPers and the devs areinspired by the same source, pretty archetypical narration befitting journal of some lovercraftian horror protagonist. It's just the game devs do it better and with more subtlety and sense than anons.

WHO KILLED HARRY HORSE?
I tried to get into this game a year ago and holy frick it's awful. No offense to the people who like it but frick it was probably the worst shooter I have ever played. It doesn't even have much conspiracy in it
>ZOMG ayyliens and also government is bad :O
... So like a hundred other games?
lol.
>Cyberpunk 2077
>Kingdom Hearts (Specifically the first one)
>Kirby 64
>Undertale
None of these games have necessarily been forgotten, but I always get a strange sensation when I play them, Like there's something more to them

I liked it.
