Not bricked at all. You will have anywhere from six months to a year to roll another Lynette dupe while chasing other characters before you can use it for that.

Thanks bro. I really want that SP snatch, loved it in original Octopath. With Theo, was a bit bummed to see the three hits is random but still good. I didn't unlock AoE and went for single target cleanse/heal first instead. Is that too much healing?
Personally I don't really feel like his single-target heal is worth it besides the cleanse for specific fights. His Aoe regen is more than enough. I would recommend rushing for Double Harvest in his last panel. It's really fricking good
How have your luck been so far on the step-up anons? Are you rolling or skipping? I did the first pull and got Scarecrow 4.5 but I don't really know if he is good or not
Really tempted to pull because I'm missing bunch of 4*s that I need to clear the BT fights, but I have both Lynette and Millard already and the fights aren't going anywhere anyways, might as well wait for a banner with a 5* I actually want.
Scarecrow is one of those characters who really wants his 5* board since like any other damage dealer he really wants those stats and both his 4x attacks are locked behind it and he struggles with breaking without those. His reliance on landing crits to maximize damage output is also a little bit lame though his damage is still respectable even without them.
At 4.5 he can still pull his weight at least up to the BT spear lady who's the current hardest bow weak boss in the game, though Lucetta is probably better overall because of her better breaking capabilities.
Scarecrow will also get outclassed by other hunters not too far down the line considering the pace at which they're dropping new units, but for fights where you'd want to bring him there's no reason you couldn't use him alongside those other hunters if you ever happen to pull them. Notably, Scarecrow is going to be excellent against Tikilen if you manage to get that gold seal for him.
Thanks anon! That super informative. Currently I have replaced Bertrand with Lucetta. But I will start leveling Scarecrow since I have zero Wind units leveled up. Hopefully I can luck into an Gold seal for upgrading him. But I am currently focusing on getting my Viola to 5* so it's most likely going to take some time.
Honestly the 4.5 shit is really scummy in my opinion. And it may just be the only thing really souring my opinion on an otherwise really great game

Someone already brought this up in the previous thread, and no, if you plan to stick with the game, the existence of 4.5* are a bless, you get DOUBLE rates in exchange of some mats that you'll be drowning in before you know.

In regards to the current step-up I am not sure if I should just stop on the first roll now. Lynette seems really neat but I already have an C1 Millard And I would hate to get more of him. In regards to dancers I lucked out and got Prim so I guess I should be content with my luck on the first pull and keep saving from now on
the way I see it, it takes a while to reach the 5 star board, pretty much max level if you're fully completing all the boards

here, I reached the 5th panel long ago and only got half the common mats and no gold seal. Glad I rolled 5* Viola and no longer have to class up. Saved 21 JPs as well that went straight to unlocking the nice 5* things.
I don't think you realize how bad the odds of getting a gold seal from hunts is anon. With 500 influence you have three rolls at a 0.5% chance of getting a specific gold seal per hunt with the only other option being buying one for 30k silver shards which is a hefty sum with our current shard income in global.
Also filling up your lower star boards at 4.5* is pretty dumb, you're better off foregoing those neglibile stat boosts and stockpile your JP so you can actually get the good shit immediately when you get your class up. That way your new 5* can be immediately useful instead of having to grind them up further.
Current JP has trials for job-specific teams that give out seals for the corresponding job. So we will *eventually* have a good source of seals. It'll just take more than at least 8 months and we're still in our first.
Sure, in the long term it likely won't be a problem for veteran players, but having your roster arbitrarily kneecapped for 8+ months still sucks and even once we start getting those trials, you still need a team capable of clearing them and as I understand you might still have to wait for your desired class to get their trial anyway. The 4.5* system benefits no one: they could just as well have kept the rates the exact same and add the 4.5* rate into the 5* odds.

That's higher than the actual gacha, with three rolls per day you'll get the seals you want eventually... well unless you're have absolutely shit luck, BUT even then there are other methods of getting gold seals, like some anons have mentioned.
Just sit and relax, there's no hurry, you can get most of the content done with lv60 characters
And those odds are still shit, which is the point. The other option at this time are limited to pouring all of your meager guidestone income into silver shards which still adds up to about 2 months of devoting all your resources to classing up one character at the cost of gimping your 5*s in terms of limit break progression. Why is this the hill so many people are willing to die on? It's a shitty system. That doesn't make the game itself shit, it just makes it a good game with a shitty system.

I am relaxed, doesn't mean I can't criticize excessive time gating that serves no purpose beyond punishing players who failed a coin flip and are now stuck with what's essentially a preview of the unit they should rightfully have full access to. Even if you're of the opinion that because these things won't matter to most players in the long run and are consequently a non-issue, then it's still at best a completely pointless system that arbitrarily fricks with new players.
It is criticizable, but it doesn't punish the player that much (some units do get some good shit at 5*, others like Millard don't), at worst you're stuck with a perfectly usable unit
Assuming you mean 0.5% per chest, and with the coming Expert Hunt and the rotating dungeon thing coming soon. That's basically exactly 1 Seal per month on average as a direct drop from Hunts, 0.5 Seals per month from shards (if you're choosing to do that a lot of people won't, at least not right away), and 1 guaranteed Seal plus a bunch of other stuff, including more shards iirc. If you want to be generous ~3 golden seals per month, if you want to be pessimistic ~2 golden seals per month.
You're not getting 2-3 new 4.5 stars per month unless you whale literally every single new character that is ever released every single patch, week in week out, while also being unlucky enough that you only ever get them as a 4.5* and never as a 5*. The reason no one else cares that much is because you're literally going to get more golden seals than you can spend in the longrun. Because you WONT have the 4.5* characters to even spend them on. People worry about it now because they alot more 4.5*s from the starting gems/rerolling and most people aren't getting the 300/500 chests which nukes the frick out of their seal rate.

I am convinced the 4* meta is Wind. Between Menno, Noelle, and Fabio,
Noelle has E.Def down, Menno has passive and active Wind Res down and Fabio has party MAG +10%. Menno is a party regener who can keep Fabio topped off for +20% Wind Dmg and Noelle just has boosted Wind Dmg at all times. I'm considering using them and a bunch of thieves for my serious run of Pardis III by breaking him until he's weak to Wind and then nuking him. They're all great in isolation but have seriously good synergy for on-release 4* units.
They're core for one of the BT fights, so yeah.
there's also the kurtz guy who has a wind attack that reduces wind res and a normal debuff skill that reduces both elemental atk and phys atk. Probably the best 4 star debuffer

The step up in the closed beta was so nice, one of the things I specifically told them in my feedback at the end was to provide global with more step ups because it's the best deal for f2p. I also told them they're going to need to give out a lot more rubies, but I can see why they ignored that suggestion.
I'm at 1600 rubies. My 5 stars are Fiore, Lynette, Tressa, Scarecrow, Viola and 4.5* Sophia (still waiting for compensation and praying it makes her 5*). If I did the step up, it would cost me almost everything I have. I don't have Millard and a dupe of Lynette seems extremely good to have for later on, as she is apparently the only 5* with a special skill so good it's worth saving an awakening stone for.
However, I will likely pick up these launch characters as offbanners while chasing someone else. If I were to get a 5* from this step up, the odds are very much against it being someone new for my account, so it would likely be a dupe that would boost one of my main crew's stats by +30%, since I have no 5* awakenings yet. Do you guys think it's worth? I'm a little on the fence, but leaning pretty strongly toward skipping and continuing to save for Cyrus.
Yeah, I'd skip and just pray for spooks. Someone in last thread brought up an excellent point of only focusing on permanent units since they'll always outstat limited units from spook awakenings.

I will be skipping then. A couple of you suggest I do the discounted steps, but I cannot afford to pull when nothing is guaranteed, especially in the stingiest game I play. I might seem lucky so far, but overall I'm the unluckiest fella I know and even when I have a guarantee, I still often get screwed as hard as I can, so pulling with no safety net is a fool's errand.
I'd absolutely skip, maybe do the first step for the chance of getting a Lynette dupe if you're still missing some key 4* since the discount is pretty juicy. I fully expect Lynette to show up on another step up by or around the time we get ultimates so there's really no rush and Millard is honestly just kind of shit so you're not really missing out on much by skipping.
If they just gave him a single fricking triple break I wouldn't feel so bad about having him at c1

Power's story was the worst and was the typical shit you get from a gacha, the writer is a random 23 year old.
Wealth's was just okay and Fame had some great moment, but both had some characterization problems in some parts.
Master of All was 10/10, only issue from my side being how they handled the MC.
I legit was about to drop the game because power was insufferably boring, to not mention the downer ending with its main character dying in a completely stupid manner.
Then I finally played fame and had a fricking blast enjoying the villain.
That's how everyone felt, i unfortunately started with fame and it all went down hill til around chapter V. Chapter VIII did leave me with a smile and absolutely loved the final theme. It's right up there with Bravely Default which always leaves me shedding a tear

I still want to punch whoever came up with the moronic notion of having to repeat the crystal smashing segment at the end of BD five times, but that final boss theme is legit amazing.
Yeah, the repeating cycle was fine, but 5 was a bit much. Didn't bother me nearly as much as most people, but I can see it repeating like twice (one is the same to piss you off and make you wonder what the frick is happening and the second one where things get different) without hurting the narrative or anything else.
Unfortunately it did really bother me, it was just totally unneeded. Twice would've been absolutely fine, but five was just stupid. Frick that game designer in particular. Otherwise, great game.

Whoa whoa whoa. I'm glad to be such an incredible slowpoke for once. I am only on Chapter 2 of Master of All. Does anyone have a list of these missables I need to watch out for?
Afaik enemies in the Tytos Cathdral disappear in Bestower of Power Ch.1. The elites are moved to the Lab from MoP Ch.1 so you can technically kill the elite Believer and Researcher every 20hrs to fulfill the 100 quota of each, but that's moronic so just shred the mobs of each type before the update hits or you start BoP.
MoA Ch.8 has an enemy type in the final dungeon that cannot be found after that point. They are the only enemy type besides caits that spawn in the dungeon so you just have to get through +33 battles to clear the achievement. They drop materials for level 60 equipment so you'll be battling them quite a bit anyways.
Those are the only 3 achievements I know of, but I cleared Hermenia's men and plan to do Thespians because I don't trust anything.
All that time for 2 gems and 2 points of fame

None of the starting 8 5* travelers had their awakening IV accessory on launch. It'll most likely be added when they put up the step up banner for him like with Sofia/Fiore and Lynette/Millard.

She doesn't have the features that make her SSS+ available in global yet. Her 5* skills are just her aoe fire 2x spell and a 3x fan single target with magic defense down. She'll still be able to buff, and can do single target fire damage.

Really depends on the character. Someone like Scarecrow unfortunately gets all of his good abilities at 5*. At 4.5* he's only as good or even worse than 4* characters. But with Lynette, she already has her biggest teamwide buff at 4.5* and that's all you want her to be doing: swapping rows constantly and reapplying her buff occasionally. So in this case, you're good.
I can't decide for the life of me who to 5* First. It's either going to be Viola or Awakening 1 Primrose.

Sorry bro, I don't have Primrose. Viola is pretty darn good though, although if you're just using her for debuffing, she already gets her two big debuffs without being 5*.
Primrose does big Dark damage with decent breaking in the forms of 4-hit random Fan and 3-hit random Dark. She's also got a suite of Atk/Mag/Spd in 1 dance. Her only real issue is extremely high SP costs.
Viola does unconditional 2-hit breaks in party (dagger 5*) and single-target (fire) flavors. Hence why Kurtz is discount Viola. Viola does have a 3-hit dagger but her damage is still lackluster, I think Millard hits harder. Her real appeals are two Atk/Mag -20% and Def/M.Def -20% debuffs. She doesn't do big damage herself but enables the party to make big numbers with debuffs & breaks or survive some bullshit you didn't see coming. She also suffers from SP shortages which you'd think SP Snatch (5*) would solve, but it doesn't because it got nerfed to 1 hit.
If you suffer from damage you would barely tank otherwise pick Viola. If you suffer from no Dark attackers (Fiore doesn't count as a Dark attacker btw) then pick Prim.
Just run a hunt with both fans and daggers as preferred weapon types. It'll be RNG for who you get first. unless you mean spending 30k silvers already

Depends how much of a hardcore hoarder you are. If you can finish all current content without pulling, save. You will get all these characters eventually in the years to come. The only thing I've heard of that's better bang for your buck is this insane step up JP had that was 3 steps. First pull was FREE. Second cost 200 rubies, third was 300. And the pool was only 4* and 5* characters. And you could trade in the fragments from those 30 pulls for a gold class up seal of your choice. And you could do the whole step up 3 times, so it's worth keeping 1500 rubies for this ridiculously good deal. JP only got this twice and not until very late into the game's life over there, so I doubt global will see it before first anniversary, if ever.
You can do only those 150 gems pulls from step up and the traveler seals so you can have ok roster while still saving gems. Picrel is the gems i have after doing 1x 300 gems multi and 2x 150 gems step up, missing 200 gems from endgame superbosses because i lack the chars to hit their weaknesses.
I was in full hoard mode like you then i realized not having many 3*s (for influence and break slaves) and some of the 4*s sucks. Still only pull when you hit a wall or fights become suffering to finish.
Five 5*s with three 10x is pretty lucky, congrats.

I've rolled like mad in the game and have finished all content in the game so I'm out of rubies, but I think I've got somewhat lucky at least. Awakened Fiore, Awakened Theo and Awakened Heathcote. The rest of my party are Millard, Sofia, Lynette and Scarecrow. I'm only missing a 5* merchant, so I'm using Helga at the moment.

You don't need a guide for any of that honestly, the only missable items are the chests inside Pardis castle (you'll know when you get there, it's pretty late game)

Yes, they are. They are in Valore (staff/dark), Theatrepolis (dagger/wind), Rippletide (bow/fire) and Emberglow (fan/light).

I've only beaten 2 of them, the one in Valore and the one in Rippletide.
The Valore one was pretty easy if not counting the RNG in the first two turns. The guy can just decide to triple attack the same unit and kill immediately. After that, it's pretty easy since you can cast a regen heal (I use Cedric) during every break and that should be enough to sustain for the rest of the fight.
The one in Rippletide was even easier, but that's because I have both Lynette and Viola whom just shit on her. Not to mention, there are many great hunters in the 4* pool.
Currently locked out of the Theatrepolis one because the lack of Noel and Menno, and my Fabio is still 3.5*. I heard it's pretty easy otherwise.
Haven't tried the Emberglow one at all.

For the most part, not really, there are two notable exceptions of mobs that greatly reduce their numbers after certain events/you're done with that area: the cathedral believers and Edoras knights

The lack of qol (not even any cutscene skip), shit UI, required dupes and tacked on gacha/dailies make this not worth anyway. Dailies are supposed to be a checklist of things you probably want to do, and not a bunch of artificial shit like it is in this game. Why do exchange shop shit daily? Why sell shit to the weapon store daily? If you don't get new stuff from a new area it's pointless. Same for path actions.

You'd normally want to convert shards and exchange points anyway, and farm some mats to enhanced endgame gear
Any strats on defeating those lv85 people with the special weapons? Wouldn't we get one shot since equipment only goes to Lv60?
A team of level 60 characters in innocent gear is enough to take them down, though some of them do uncomfortably high damage until you narrow the level gap and tome guy is probably going to one shot anyone with his big nuke regardless of your level.
There's really not much advice to give beyond that except to say that ideally you want to break them every 2-3 turns since you're on a 15 turn timer before they start spamming an instant kill move on your entire front line. Underleveled 3* or 4* shitters in the back line can also be useful for breaking as long as you're careful about when you bring them in.
60 is as high as equipment goes in general. 60 is the max level of 3* characters, so in order to not outgear them 60 is the highest level equipment goes up to.
That's not entirely true. Future weapon sets like the Fenrir we should be getting with the next update will exceed level 60. 3*s simply won't stay relevant in terms of stats and will only ever serve a utility function.

The newer part 4 weapons and armor are back to being level 60 and after upgrading end up with fairly higher stats than the level 70 stuff at max upgrade.

They only drop from Flamesgrace elites. You're supposed to add beating them them to your daily rotation.

I think the Bear drops the rare ones. They are not the toughest fights but have few weaknesses. The plant gets annihilated by Sword/Axe don't remember the third and fire

You're not locked out of anything. You get the white grape blossom from the flower girl standing right on top of the quest marker and after you complete the wealth prologue you can access the other two (fame is what will get you to Flamesgrace).

August Roadmap says we'll get the Sheep Farm and Kota the Blacksmith in the Nameless Town (likely with maintenance on the 24th). Skimming through the JP wiki, the Sheep Farm quest will take 540 total memory shards (same as Nut farm) and Kota's quest will take 200 if you want to complete it immediately. A new Elite that drops Hard Lumber (NOT Sturdy Lumber) will be added to the Nameless Town if you would rather defeat that 5 times to complete the Kota quest. If you save all of your memory shards now (50 total from daily 20 + 30 from trading the items of townspeople & Elites), you'll have enough to clear half of Sheep Farm or all of Kota immediately.

It's just additional memory shard income, which is appreciated since future town upgrades will cost quite a bit and the exchange shop will get all kinds of goodies in the future.
I did a dry-run of Pardis III with a bunch of under-leveled units and Peredir to figure out weaknesses and only got through half of Phase 2. Thinking about it I probably could have beaten this fight sooner if I used an actually constructed party but Phase 3 was pretty fun with a 60+ party.
If you want tips, bring two healers at least, kit your team with at least lvl 55 gear, and equip the null Terror accessory in Elicia's room. Even though nobody died, my row 3 (Pia/Camilla) felt pretty useless. Maybe it was RNG but Spear didn't pop up as weakness that much. An Axe would do well in this fight. Other than that just keep up SP on both rows and Pardis is ez.
Yeah, only one "round" of weaknesses per phase is weak to spears, one merchant is plenty, unless you bring Helga for the ice
How long is master of all compared to the first 3? I just beat master of all chapter 1 and my team is like level 35. If its like the others 3 chapters and level 60+ is the norm the frick is this exp curve

The suggested level for Master of All is a bit inflated, you just need a strong, compensated party

Way longer than all 3 combined. Make 1 character high enough level to reach the next Cait tier for ads, then reroll ads to level everyone up. Having 1 really high leveled character doesn't make the game any easier since equipment level matters so it's cool. I reached Lv60 pretty fast and I took my time enjoying the game. Farming full Lv60 equipment for your team however might take some time if you don't want to struggle on final boss(depending on your team) and might make you go broke

You could buy the $20 pack and go straight to 51, you get 15 of those level items. What do you mean 10k? You should be getting 50k 3x a day from the adds
The level 30 or so cait (the highest I've seen in all my time going up to level 40) gives 10k exp. The one below that is 5k, and the one below that is 1k. 3 ads per day means if I get the highest level cait I get 30k exp.

That's why you reroll the Cait ads. It's a 5% spawn. once you're 51 it's 100k then 300k at 71. Rerolling them has maxed all my 3* for easy hunts

8 chapters, plus an epilogue. Then we also have prologues for all 3 beginnings of part 3. The levels for master of all don't start jumping up until ch6 or so, and by then you can farm the first fat cat in the dungeon for that level.

From launch till now, my impressions went from bad to good as the game went on, the endgame is lackluster but the future content seems promising. They've been alternating a standard release character and an OCTOPATH character so far. Logically they will want to catch up given they've already said as much, so to do so they will need to release characters faster than on JP. All of these characters are going to go into the general pool when it's updated. You do not need to pull them as they come out, just wait.

I unironically don't blame any company or game. I blame the moron whales that enable this. If I was a company running a gacha business you bet your ass I'd put the prices as high as idiots are willing to pay for it, it just sucks ass for the f2p/light spenders among the playerbase.
I even play another gacha with a pity that also costs $600 per unit like this game. And I watched some dipshit on youtube pull to pity for a new collaboration character in that game. Along the way to pity, he got 2 (two) other new-ish characters that had been added into the generic pool (they couldn't have been out for more than 4-6 weeks). He was practically bragging that he pitied both of them when they came out. Yes, bragging a bout the fact that he spent $1200 to get a couple characters he was basically guaranteed to get off-banner sooner or later, 4-6 weeks in advance. There is no help for these people and there is no reason for companies not to try and milk them dry.
I always wonder why do people even buy gacha shit with these awful prices. I can't justify wasting as much as an actual full game for a chance at a character.
I think the most I ever did was like 10 bucks on a gacha I like every couple months just to show support, without expecting anything in return.
Most publishers, especially bigger ones, would prefer to try and milk a huge whale for as much as possible rather than going for small regular spending. Meanwhile, middle size or smaller publishers tend to offer a lot more smaller but semi-regular purchases to milk the lesser population for more regular amounts of money.
10 players spending $5000 and 10000 players spending $5 ends up the same at the end of the day.
Conversely if the shop had a shitload of one time deals for like $1-5 each of "500% value" or the like people would probably instead complain they were trying to nickel and dime the lower spenders. Personally i see those "ONE TIME DEAL, BUY NOW!" games as more greedy than a few simple, regular prices with a few bigger bonuses sometimes. I ain't gonna spend $30 on a 10 pull in granblue, but I might snag a suptix occasionally. At least back when I played.
For octopath I feel no desire to spend, my pulls have been fairly decent outside of not having many thieves and I'm already done with the story. Also I haven't looked at the Jp shop, but I imagine down the line there will be better deals

A faster release schedule is only a good thing as far as I'm concerned anyway, it just means these characters will enter the general pool quicker and will be featured on step ups (which is when f2p players should pull for them anyway) sooner.

Idk if it's because mine has an awakening already, but he has surprised me. Dude hits like a truck, has a 3 hit random, 2 hit aoe and heals.
Not sure how much the Influence levels affect Cait spawn rate (they say +0.2% per tier, but I'm not sure if that's a straight additional +0.2% added on or 100 + (100% * 0.02%) multiplied) but honestly I think it's way faster to just go into a high level area and run around til you get Caits to spawn, since they'll spawn at that area's level instead of spamming ads and hoping for a 5% spawn. That said, this way actually needs you to run around on your own, and run away from/kill random enemies

Don't waste the exp, swap to different travelers that cover elements/attack types you're interested in.

So clear the highest level hunt you can with your main party and start doing easy hunt on it for the shitters. The only thing you miss out on there is achievement progress for the hunt boss, but that's something you can start working on once you don't really need the hunt rewards anymore anyway.
Right now you want to skip hunts, not clear them manually.

Feels like a real game compare to a lot of gacha "rpgs" thats in the mobile market. While I love this game, there is no reason to spend money on this game unless they release sprite skins or something to make the purchase worthwhile like Granblue Fantasy.

Fight any Elites you might have skipped while doing the story. Once Tower of Remembrance comes out, you'll need to have defeated every Elite in an area in order to unlock new fights with special rewards. The rubies and influence you get don't hurt either.

NTA but how does make use of Fiora, or does she just become good later but is terrible in the middling levels? She's easily my weakest link on the team right now and its actually getting really annoying to try and play around her flaws.
Maybe its because she is only 4.5* for me but even if I had the 5* board unlocked I'd be like 1-2 nodes into it if that. All my other 5* characters have been great, and even most of my 4* and 3.5* I have to use have been basically on viola level of performance or better.
fiora is for damage. If there is a sword weakness she will kill it. Her very powerful 2x hit aoe is 5* locked I believe though

Viola is for defense breaking and shield breaking. Debuffs aren't that big a deal while you're progressing early but they will be crucial for high end fights. her 5* locks her 2x shield break aoe but she should have everything else she wants.
I can definitely see the upside of Viola.
But her SP is beyond dog shit. She gets 3 (three) special attacks per fight, 4 if I can stash her in the back row for a few turns to regen enough for a 4th. Its like I have to pick exactly one ability for her to do each fight and if I pick more she just can't because she'll be out of gas turn 3. Probably the reason she has these problems (outside of her SP costs being way too high for some reason) is because she has so much utility.
It was great earlier on when I could delete bosses in one break or finish them off soon after. But now that the breaking stager has 12+ shields and at least a two-cycle is almost inevitable she just doesn't have the longevity because she's SP starved by the first break or before.
Slap a dragon scarf or even two on her (there's one in Rippletide I think and I know there's another one somewhere though I don't remember where, might be post Master of All). I think you're underestimating the impact of Debilitate for enabling your other characters to hit big numbers too. Slap a boosted Debilitate the turn before you break, initiate a break with her high speed the next turn and line up your fat nukes for taking advantage of 2 turns of break.
Sounds like you're milking her dry too quickly, first of all equip a dragon scarf on her like the anon above said, then you should start your (boss) fights with a boosted Debilitate (that's just 35sp), swap rows to let her recover a bit while you continue to search/hit weaknesses, turn 3 swap again and use her fire shield break, 3x dagger or fire AoE with def down, turn 4 swap again and so forth, just makes sure the enemy is always debilitated
She needs to be paired up with an attacker, she can deal some serious damage herself if the enemy is weak to daggers or fire, but that's not her role
Plan around the enemies you'll face. If they're weak to daggers, bring Triple Sting. If not, don't. Crimson blast is a solid 2-hit shield crack, Anti-Attack lets you live when you shouldn't, and Debilitate stacks on damage. HP Snatch kinda sucks and Blazing Dagger is only really good for stacking on Def debuffs.
Viola will never be a damage dealer unless the enemy is Dagger-weak because her MAG is too low for CB to do any real damage even on Fire-weak and she has too little SP to spam skills. Switch her in to debuff and shield cracks at the start of a turn. Switch her out to restore SP for prolonging debuffs. Aiming for SP on the skill boards helps with the no SP issue.

You're misreading. When you upgrade the innocent weapons they gain 15 Eatk per level.
The damage formula is weird so technically additional eatk will slightly benefit your physical attackers too. I don't remember off the top of my head if upgrading innocent gear actually raises its grade too, but that also has an effect on damage output. In practice you're probably better off just waiting for the next patch to gear your physical attackers though if you don't already have enough materials stockpiled to upgrade everything anyway.
Sorry scratch that, eatk doesn't affect your physical attack but patk does affect elemental damage. Weapon grade might still give you a marginal boost though.

5*s are good. Lynette+Viola duo means you can stop rerolling then you add Fiore which is one of the best dps for now.
4*s are okay, Sigrid and Camilla there has strong synergy with Fiore. Lack of hunters sucks and you really want to get your Shelby (and maybe Rodion too if you have spare seals/lucky from gacha) to 4* for the multihit skill.

Started Master of All Chapter 3 and I FINALLY got to Clearbrook! So I upgraded the nut farm with the manual there, and that unlocked Ambition Blooms II but I already had the nut manual from Cragspear so I upgraded the farm yet again. I'm not getting any more Nameless Town quests, is the nut farm done? And is that it for the town until the sheep farm update drops? I got a large supreme nut from one of my trees, sounds pretty awesome.

Sofia is good, but can be gotten at a 50% rate if you go all the way through the Fiore/Sofia step-up (you'll get one of them as compensation at the 24th, I suggest you roll there after you're done rerolling), Gilderoy is kinda eh. He has a competent budget option in the form of 4* Devin.
At the very least try to get either Viola, Lynette or Primrose + another 5*, Theo is good but you can get Sofia from her step-up and Gilderoy will get outclassed FAST by other more offensive merchants

My main 6 star Fiore at 61 who was doing 17k, the others at 58. Take everyone to 60 for a smoother time but still challenging, I had to revive with gems once. 65 would be overlevelled.
His castle has tons of armor gear so don't overstock.
Okay, I'll aim to be between level 60 and 65 then. Just got my first character to level 50 today (Tressa), so it's quite a ways to go.
Imo the more important part is lvl 60 gear than unit level. If you kit your entire party in lvl 60 armor and weapons, nobody will die against Ch. 8. I believe there's 4 armors and at least 3 helms in the final dungeon, so you only need to fill out the rest. Some NPCs also give out lvl 60 equips so keep an eye out for that.

To add, reach to Pardis and interact with everyone for Lv60 equipment, once your done farm for the materials. I spent a lot of time farming only to go back and realized a missed a few Lv60 stuff and the castle also had like 4 chests that gave some as well

My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy A13, which I bought last month. The issue I have is that the game's APK fails to install when I try to download it.
It's region locked so if you have to download an apk to install it you probably can't play it anyway.
If you are going to use Millard, you either need to get him awakened or crammed with speed gear so he can act and cure you before the enemies deal more damage and kill your characters, or, preemptively set him to heal in the end of the turn to counter any damage you take.
I have awakened Theo, being able to set 5 regen turns beats Millard by a mile.

I have never successfully rerolled an ad Cait and actually missed a day due to the daily reset glitch. Ad Caits are shit for Exp grinding. Nuts, Hunts, and finding Caits in the wild get you EXP. You'll never find a israeliteel Cait from ads until you have someone at lvl 71. Once you hit Ch. 8 you can bring your party of lvl 55s to grind israeliteel caits or DOUBLE fat caits, no level limiting bullshit. Ch.7 let's you find single chubbies and blacks in groups if you're still gated. There's also the Sage's Brooch accessory and EXP boost passive from units like Noelle, Telly, Sunny, etc. With unskippable ads rerolling isn't worth it. I'm fricking tired of seeing Evony ads.

I just got to Chapter 4 of Master of All as I'm the biggest slowpoke here, but I'm looking forward to fat cats! How many shield points do they have?
Fat (chubby) caits have 14 shield points and give 100k Exp. israeliteel (coy chubby) have 15 SP and give 300k. I definitely think taking this game slow is the right call. It's possible for almost anyone to rush through up to Ch. 6, but Ch. 7 and 8 require good levels and equipment to clear. I think fat cats first pop up in the Ch. 7 dungeon, but I could be wrong. Best bet is to equip some Allies that can use 3-hit skills (Tressa's Mom, the miner in Cragspear, some NPCs in Shepard's Rock) and use them every turn to contribute to break.
You don't want to break on turn 1 since they never run away there. You want to break on turn 2 and kill on turn 3. You'll want 4 units with 3-hit skills that hits the Cait's weaknesses on the frontline. Madelaine, Trish, Sigrid, Lucetta work together and they're all available in the 4 star pool. It goes something like this.
Chubby Caits:
Turn 1 - all 4 units use their 3-hit skill
Turn 2 - do the same thing while praying for no flee
Turn 3 - all do 4× boosted normal attack, Cait should die here
Coy Chubby Caits:
Turn 1 - all 4 units use their 3-hit skill
Turn 2 - do the same thing, pray for no flee, and use any 3-hit ally
Turn 3 - all do 4× boosted normal attack, use another 3-hit ally, Cait should die here
As of now, the only way to kill Caits 100% of the time is to have Heatcothe for his priority skill.
Nevermind. I thought Heatcothe's priority skill had a shield crack. It's Tressa that will be able to kill Caits easily once they release the new one.
Ghost cat you can kill on turn 2, so breaking it turn 1 is fine. The problem with fat cats is that they have too much HP and cannot be killed until turn 3, which is why you need a turn 2 break and when priority moves can be nice. healthcote's isnt a shield breaker, but it is a dagger move. Prome who comes out later gets priority when spending BP so they can book slap.

Fug. Across 4 characters, I can only do 10 hits (3 from Fiore, 3 from Tressa, 2 from others) and 3 more from a summoned ally (Tressa's mom Marina, the gold miner in Cragspear, the female lumberjack in Clearbrook) so that's only 13. Shit, just saw the pic here
and spear's not a weakness for those ones so no 3 hit from Tressa, bringing me down to 12 hits. Shelby will get her 3 hit axe skill soon, but that's just back up to 13, still can't hit 14.

They don't always flee.
Fat cats have 40 hp, so you can use your 3x hit skills turn 1 for 12 damage, use 3x normal attacks for 12 more damage (24), then 4x normal attacks for 16 damage (total 40) and kill.
If you can't use 4x hits then coy fat cats (45 hp) will need another 5 damage from allies with that damage spread. If you get the first +1 bp nodes then you can do all 4x attacks round 2 for 16 damage, and 44 damage total. Only needing one ally. And if you have a 4x hit anywhere that pushes you to 45 and you won't need an ally. (scarecrow, primrose, etc)

Endgame content was just stuck in an endless loop of the same thing getting recycled ad nauseam with a new layer of bullshit added on top to force you to keep up with the power creep. First you need to break damage cap enough times or die, then you need to break damage cap while also maintaining infusions, now you need at least +2 to your damage cap break along with being forced to spam soul breaks every turn to not die.
RK was a fun time while it lasted, but it was time to let go anyway and I hope Tressa anon gets blessed by the gacha here.

I am really lucky and unlucky at the same time. Sofia and Scarecrow are gonna get replaced by Cyrus and H’aanit, but I have no idea what to do with Wingate. I really like him, but he's gonna start choking very soon and limit breaks won't save him in the long run. This really fricking sucks.
Anon, that's not how the game works. For bow weak fights you can use H'aanit and Scarecrow together. Likewise, Sofia works great with Cyrus for ice weak fights because she can buff his damage while putting out respectable numbers herself. Wingate's passive will keep him relevant in various team compositions where your damage dealer can't reach the passive damage buff cap on their own.
I don't know why you're being such a baby about this, you've got a good selection of 5*s even if Sofia and Scarecrow will take a while to reach 5* and you have a nice stockpile of gems on top of that.
I am just one of the autists who tries to beat entire game using only one team. So far it works ok(though I did form other teams specifically for hunts), but I have this feeling that it won't be a good way to play later on. Right now my main party has pretty good physical dmg output, but sucks at magic and fire element is not even there. Game just lets me progress anyway for now.

Sure, but that only works for the main quest, eventually you *will need* to form specific comps. Also, your magic damage is fine, really, Sofia, Primrose and Millard are some of the strongest magic attackers right now
Just save for Cyrus and you'll have fire covered, I'd suggest to skip Haanit unless she's your absolute fave, you already have bow and lightning, and she's a permanent unit
Eventually enemies will only have 2 weaknesses in a fight. I'll let you put together what that means by yourself.

Easiest for most is probably the old lady because most rerolled for Viola and Lynette. The hardest for most is probably the architect because dark is pretty rare (Heinz is pretty much mandatory, but he's 4* so hopefully you have him already) and you have to use staves.

I did it by raising some 3* characters to level 45 because they add +100 influence each at that level. It really sucks wasting slots on 3 stars when I could be getting gold guidestones for my 5 stars, but I need more chances at those seals; I haven't gotten any luck yet on hunts.
Speaking of this though, what should I be doing with my nuts? I was using them to level up my 3 stars for hunts (I always do the 2nd hunt, the power one, because I want sword and tome seals) but now that I can hit 500 influence and finished the nut farm, should I be feeding all my nuts to my main party?

300 is just putting whoever you have that is the correct influence
500 you put some 3* influence stat stick, they reach 100 influence at level 45
Early game, park some 3* units at 45 in the backrow.
Eventually your 5*s will be worth a solid chunk each and you wont have to think about it as much. at 84 they get another 60, then at 92 another 80. finally 97 is another 80 but that's a lot longer out

Each of the villains' classes corresponds to the ring they wore. Herminia's was the ring of the huntress so that's what she gets.
Tytos the Warrior, someone who seeks Power to oppress others, makes sense. I bet the Bestower of Wealth enemy is going to be an Apothecary, which would also makes sense as someone who shuns money.
Herminia being a Huntress doesn't. She'd make more sense as a Dancer, especially since her powder overwhelms the senses of her customers, she cons people into working for her, and was forced into being a prostitute. Then she got revenge. None of her story says "Huntress". She even follows Prim's story beats all except being evil. Fricking Tatloch (Amazoness ruler) from Bestower of Power has a pet panther/big black cat with her. She makes much more sense as a Huntress but the team shot themselves in the foot already using Huntress for Hermenia.
Auguste as a Theif is an eh decision. He would make a better Scholar but Pardis III is good as a scholar as well. I'm guessing Bestower of Fame us going to be a Merchant or Dancer since I can see Tatloch being either.

Shit, I meant to bring this up weeks ago when I beat Master of Power. While fighting Tytos, he used an attack I didn't catch the name of. It was a single target, single hit, physical attack that did 1934 damage. Even being overleveled, that's more than enough damage to one shot anyone from full hp. From sheer 1 in 4 odds blind luck, he targeted Tressa that turn (her taunt wasn't up) and her passive let her survive with 1 hp. But it got me wondering: is that one of those attacks in RPGs that's supposed to leave you with one hp, or did I get really lucky with who he targeted and they actually gave the boss a move that can just instantly remove a party member from battle? Even halfway through Master of All, I've yet to see any attack that powerful.
Seems like it. I checked the wiki and he has an attack called Precipice of Fear, which reduces the HP of the target to 1.

It is kinda silly that you can't check his status effects after they're already applied, but if you actually paid attention you'd notice that he alternates between counter stance: magic and counter stance: physical which are pretty self explanatory.

I think we'll be having a free seal every new town since we also had one in Flamesgrace. Don't know when we'll be getting the axe one though.

It's the same for me. But she is one of the shittier four stars and I decided to use the seal if I ever get one on another apothecary. I liked to see her braid swinging but unfortunate

Which elites in the tower should I fight everyday if ever?
Currently only the special ones if you care about upgrading the stamp weapons (as I understand they'll never be competitive in stats but will provide an exp boost when you upgrade them enough). Eventually, though judging by the roadmap not until probably late December/January, the elites around Flamesgrace and Victor's Hollow will be available in the tower and can help the grind for those but by then you'll probably have everything you need anyway even grinding at a leisurely pace.
The tower seems more oriented at new players (or well, future new players) so they can farm elites twice as fast, but for us it will be pretty inconsequential

If you have the patience, save for the super high value banners (a thread ago someone mentioned a 500 rubies step-up with only 4 and 5* in it, that you could repeat up to 3 times) and limited travelers

Threw 50$ at the game for the limited time guaranteed 5*/exp accessory/seals and now I’m running with this (the dancer got bumped to 5* by a dupe and now I have her awakening stone for whatever that does)
Anything important I’m missing?
Awakening stones are used for boosting a 5* character's awakening level (giving you +50 to all stats, an extra skill slot, +1000 HP and a special accessory for each level respectively). Later on we'll get limit break-like abilities that require an awakening stone to level up to max level as well. For most characters, bumping their awakening is generally more valuable but for Lynette specifically you'll want to hold on to that stone.

Save that stone bro! For anyone else (5 stars) you get a dupe of, go to Awakening on their status screen and use the stone on them, but hang onto Lynette's. If you get another stone for her, use it, but try to keep one in reserve for the reason the post above mine stated.

Do higher level hunts have a higher chance of dropping a gold seal of the scholarking? I've never gotten a gold seal to drop and I've only got a silver seal to drop once (scholarking, funnily enough). I'm doing the second hunt, the wealth one, 'cause I'm looking for a gold scholarking seal for Sophia and a silver thunderblade seal for Sigrid.

Also, Sofia is really powerful, sheesh. Her damage was on par with my 4* daggers despite not hitting a weakness, only Viola outdamaged her.

Alfyn has for his unique battle ability Concoct, which is basically Mix from FF5. If you never played FF5, Mix was the single most broken thing in a game where half the classes could snap the game over their knee in some fashion and blue mages could instantly kill half the bosses in the game. He literally can ignore his entire job and subjob because he has everything you'd ever want from it
He's *still* not as broken as Tressa because Hired Help is obscene, she drowns you in money, and later on putting Runelord on her is the single most broken thing you can do in the game

Therion. Steal/Share SP (and HP if you make him into cleric) are op as frick. Pair him with Tressa and you are very close to being invincible.

Is the lvl 70 elite on Riven's castle only supposed to be beaten after max upgrading innocent weapons? Just tried him after beating some post master of all prologues and it seems my characters do almost no dmg on it.

A bulky taunt tank. He increases both Def and E.Def whenever he uses his taunt.
Although I don't think it's pretty helpful in our current endgame fights...? There, you either get one shot or don't. Even if he does survive, a turn used to taunt is a turn not used to bring down the shields, and turns are very valuable since you've only got 15 of them in those fights.
Not being helpful for the current bosses is fine by me since they are so specific to begin with. He sounds great for more general gameplay and bosses tough. Looking forward to trying him out. And Having someone being Counter-focused is new to me
Personally I find Gilderoy pretty helpful against the BT bow guy to sponge up the multi hit paralyze from him. Paralyze procs can really frick up your rhythm in that fight and either delay your break or really bring down your damage output during break.
Did anyone here pull for Kouren? When I learned that he's arrived on global eight months ahead of schedule (!!!), I thought maybe he would be some sort of major powercreep that would trivialize current content or something, but turns out he's fairly mediocre. He even has lower stats than Fiore. Easy skip for me, I think the only people who would pull for him would be Kouren fans and I don't know if any exist on this planet.
Speaking of how insanely early this character is, global's schedule is totally off the tracks when it comes to characters, now even moreso than launch. I've seen banners time travel in RSRS and arrive three and even six months early, but a character who only appeared 9 months after JP's launch appearing a month into global? I've never seen anything like this in any game before, foresight is practically non-existent. I will continue to save for Cyrus though.
It could take months and months before we get the special attacks, if you got a dupe and the traveler in question isn't awakened, just use it
Now, awakens 2, 3 and 4 are more debatable on a case-by-case basis, for most units you don't really need the fourth ability slot, so keeping that spare is generally the best idea

Completely messed up. Afaik, none of the banners have been in JP's order. We still haven't got H'aanit, which was JP's first banner. We got Tressa at launch, I think she was the first OG Octopath traveler JP got? Maybe the second. At least Kouren bucks the trend of releasing an OG Octo, then a normal char, than another OG Octo, then another normal char. But I expect we'll get another of the OG squad either next or the banner after. Everyone's holding their breath for Cyrus, who isn't expected for a few months if we go by JP, but will probably be here within 30 days. Or could be delayed, who knows? Global is completely random.

I don't like that they hard lock story content behind obscene level walls. I've been "stuck" on my story I can't progress for (so far) 6 days because I'm not the right level to statcheck the fight.
What chapter are you stuck anon? the only statcheck (or party check) for many players is the final boss of Master of all

I'm working through master of all now. Every chapter so far has been me barely scraping by the boss fights because of the dumb stat requires and their shitty "smart AI". I just beat I just beat chapter 3 a couple days ago and I've been severely demotivated to continue the story until I get more levels and/or gear (both of which are timed gated by hunts and caits)
I wasn't that anon I just saw someone else touching on the topic of it not being a comfy game and being a grind forced shithole and offered my 2c on the issue.

Also, if you're diligent about doing your path actions and revisiting old areas to take out elites you couldn't beat before you really shouldn't be hurting for gear until the final chapter. You do need to do a bit of grinding for levels if you're rushing through things, but if you're taking your daily caits/hunts plus the nut farm should be plenty to get you through. It's easy to burn yourself out if you're in a hurry, but in that case the solution is to just take it slow. The only walls I ran into speeding through the game on release were around the time I got to Sunshade when I had to spend a couple of hours farming caits and right before the final boss which isn't much considering the 40+ hours total it took me to get to the end.

Like how ever since master all all started. First turn in every boss fight they choose 1 person on my team and gang rape them to death from full health ignoring everyone else. Every boss fight since MoA I start with only 7 and one row that can't swap its just annoying and not fun. I've been fortunate that so far I can slink through all the fights with just 7 people but they are stressful and annoying fights and usually the person in that row dies because they can't swap and even if they did live it cripples my damage/break potential.
I don't really know what else I can do for gear other than grind more for materials. With the daily hunts I've been unlocking sequentially more (and the mats to actually make more than 1 so my whole team can be outfitted). Up to level 37 gear atm but still can't survive the boss tunnel vision bullshit so idk, more levels (raw stats from level ups, JP for more defensive stats, etc.) is all I can think of at this point.

idk about skills they're pretty much what you'd expect I guess. Doesn't seem like a lot of room in skills for out-of-the-box thinking so they all just have their best stuff with the most coverage. Viola's the only one that maybe has a real choice but it hasn't been a factor so far

4* aslyte or laura are my only other 4* characters. Everything else is 3-3.5* (and doubling a weapon I already have in party)
I dunno dude, your team looks pretty solid apart from Rita. With what you've got, bosses shouldn't be unreasonably difficult by any stretch. Just fight some enemies in the highest level areas you have available to get some materials and look around for path actions with level appropriate gear. If your gear's level is too far below the boss you're taking a shitload of extra damage and dealing reduced damage regardless of your actual stats.
Doubling up on classes is absolutely preferable to lugging around absolute shitter 3* units or bad 4*s. Aslyte has good synergy with Sofia and will outperform Rita in just about any fight by virtue of always being able to reduce shield points and Rita lacking any multihit moves at all.
The bosses haven't really been unreasonable. Outside of them constantly picking a person and yeeting them into the sun turn 1 they've felt pretty fair. It just sucks ass how every fight now is "haha you can't use sofia or lynette this fight :^)"
Until I can statcheck that horseshit I don't really know what else I can do.
Maybe I'll try Asylyte for a while then. I just assumed that having access to axe would be useful for breaking purposes (and it has been). Rita hasn't felt THAT bad so far, but I'll take everyone's word that she just sucks. I do not like her lack of skill/versatility. But I'll probably miss her healing.
Sofia doing neutral can do comparable damage to many 4*s hitting weakness, especially with Aslyte. I'd suggest trying to nut her up to 50 if you have any to spare because her +30% ice damage passive is pretty juicy (do keep in mind that it doesn't stack with Aslyte's passive so you don't want the two paried up). Lynette will always be useful too thanks to her buffs and edef debuff. You are kind of lacking a proper damage dealer apart from Sofia though which might make bosses feel dragged out.

Anyone with the correct weapon type is going to be useful for breaking against bosses weak to their weapon, but Rita brings very little outside of that and all the other 4* apothecaries do what she does better. She might be worth using for lack of better options, but until you can get her to 4* she's going to fall off hard because of her level cap.
To add on to this because I couldn't fit it into my last post, ideally your strategy for bosses going forward at this point would be to go all in on Sofia. Buff her up as much as you can with Lynette, apply her own ice res down, debuff the boss's element defense and break with Aslyte to apply her passive ice resist down. That gives you two turns of maximum nuking potential with Sofia which is going to do some pretty good damage with or without weakness.

Yeah among other things this is what I'm working towards. Sofia has already been carrying my team on damage. Just chilling and doing daily hunts/caits while getting some passive levels and JP has been working so far since the story started being dumb.
Most bosses so far I've been able to two-cycle assuming I can prep my burst properly. Sofia hits like an absolute truck if I can get all the elemental def down, ice res down, etc while buffing her with Lynette. She will probably just instagib them once I get that +30% passive.
Ideally I'd have a reason to go in on the gacha sooner rather than later because even some 4* could be very useful to me atm. But they keep releasing permanent pool shit and I can't possibly pull for those until I hit 6k because getting some collab units is a must for me.
There's not a chance its just bad RNG. Its never happened before I got to master of all. Even tressa with her last stand can't survive because they have multi hits and stuff.
By my maths, if its really random chance on single target attacks, that's 0.015% that all 3 enemies target a single character on turn 1 of a battle. For it to happen 3 times in a row is 0.000004%
I'm going to have to second the other anon and say that I've noticed nothing of the sort. On occasion one of my characters has eaten shit because of unfortunate targeting, but I've never noticed bosses focus firing one character.
Gonna add my voice too and say, I'm probably about where you are in MoA (I need to head to Sunshade to start Chapter 4) and my experience hasn't been the same as yours with the boss fight targeting at all. I think you're the only person here who's had such bad luck with bosses focusing one person down, so it seems you've won the aggro lottery. Good luck bro, we'll both make it there eventually. Really wish my Sophia wasn't stuck at 4.5* and my Aslyte wasn't stuck at 3.5*, but I've got some 5 stars you don't so I think I've got it a bit easier even if I can't enable maximum Sophia damage.

That's just bad RNG anon, I don't feel like the bosses pick on the weakest member at all, but around that point in the main quest you will start seeing more and more bosses with multi attacks
Remember to equip your squishy travelers with some defense accessories
Why would you need to grind to level 71 if you're not even done with the story yet? 55 is perfectly doable for MoA depending on your lineup and 60 is plenty for a comfortable clear.

Friends I need some help here in regards to optimal Positioning of my team for Break coverage and proper Buff appliance. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I would recommend swapping Viola with either Lucetta/Fiore or one of the healers (probably Millard since he's not terribly useful so you'll rarely have to swap Sofia out) since Viola can reliably initiate a break on anything regardless of weaknesses and you really want to maximize Sofia's nuking potential during break and you also don't want to have to swap out Sofia whenever Viola needs to reapply a debuff.
Thanks I'll try that out. Getting used to how slow Gilderoy acts is pretty weird. But he does soak up quite some damage. Not sure If I should be using his counter stance tough. It feels like that's a skills thats gonna be really great when he can slot 4 skills in but very restricting when you only got 3 and using the taunt on top of it

Can someone give me a quick rundown of how to unlock more or what to do in them?
More hunts unlock as you beat story chapters. They're just a quick daily activity for a nice chunk of exp, some guidestones and a chance of getting seals for class ups (upgrading a 3.5* to a 4* or a 4.5* to a 5*). The recommended classes for each hunt tell you which seals can drop from that hunt. Additionally, you can get up to two extra drops by reaching certain influence thresholds so if the hunt you're farming requires power and your aim is to maximize drops you want to stuff your party as full of power aligned characters. This is also where 3* characters can come in handy as they unlock an additional influence node at level 45 and can help you hit those thresholds.
Quick hunts are available for each hunt after you've cleared it manually once and will immediately give you all the rewards you would have gotten for a manual clear with the exception not building progress towards the feat for killing the hunt boss.
Okay but those thresholds seem really hard to hit, and then that means using 3* or 3/4* characters

Finally done with MoA arc. Second phase of Pardis was fun. Glad I had both Millard and Theo in my team or else he would've clapped me for sure. I wish og octopath had an actual main storyline, not just a bunch of side quests in it's place.
Agreed. If they tied some of the stories together they you could jerryrig a real story. Take Prim's story of revenge against the assassins and add Cyrus' search for the book as if he found a lead that tied into the assassins. Someone connected to the assassins might be targeting Ophelia on her journey, leading her to join the party for protection. Somehow the party finds out about the assassins being part of the Galdera cult which ties into Therion hunting down Dragonstones, since the cult wants them too. Basically just taking all those books in the final stage and weaving them into the story. I guess Olberic comes upon the location of his friend Alucard or whatever his name is through the info network the cult has. Tressa joins the party because they need a merchant to help them track a Dragonstone or some black market the cult runs. H'aanit helps because the cult either controls or created through magic rituals the Deadeye that her Master was called to hunt. Alfyn wants to help because the cult plagued an entire village for fun and Alfyn wants justice while healing the afflicted. Anything is better than 4 stories related to Galdera (half of these are only barely related through the books) and 4 stories that meander around nothing, with 2 sidestories about dating, circuses and dark gods to tie everything together.
Yeah. Just make Cyrus or Therion into an actual mc with others joining them along the way for their own reasons and boom, better and more coherent story already. Classic plot structure also allows characters to influence each others stories in meaningful ways. Frick this travel banter crap they tacked on last minute before release, let characters to interact with each other for real goddammit.

So I want to start power leveling, how do I go about with this? Bring 4 units + ally with 3x attack and just bring 4 other units to level up?

When cait hunting you'll want a frontline with 3x hit moves for the first turn, and ideally one more starting BP on them so you can do 12, 16, 16 damage and finish with an ally.
If you want to just farm normal fights then ideally just go to an area with a common weakness you have as an AoE that can either kill or almost kill all the mobs so everyone else can cleanup. Backline can be whatever.
Lynette and Primrose can wipe out a lot of encounters on their own in flamesgrace and the Arena for instance since there's encounters with all fire and all dark weaknesses.
Is there a list that tell me which units have extra BP?
You get the extra BP nodes from the skill board at certain levels. It's not a specific character thing. Well except Theo, he has a passive to regen more at the start of battle.

5* has 2, 4* has 1. At lvl 90 5*s have 3 BP on Turn 1 which is especially good when Special Attacks release.

Not having axe users doesn't matter for 99.5% of content at least for now, none of the current BT bosses are weak against that even. The 0.5% is for certain endgame elite you can farm daily which is very annoying for some people like me because that shit is only weak to axe and dark.

Just made it to Sunshade and set fire to my leaves in the name of buying and stealing everything I could use even remotely immediately, but I don't think I can do MoA Chapter 4 yet since my team's starting to fall behind the level curve and I'm not sure how important it is to try and rush through the main story in practice.
I also have no idea what the point of the stamp weapons are when I have no idea how to get the ingredients to upgrade them and the first upgrade is *already* outclassed by weapons I already have anyways outside of the chance to start with +1 BP.
While I definitely have a good grasp of the battle system from playing the OG Octopath Traveler, I don't really know why you bother farming elites each day when you can just grind a million regular encounters for crafting materials, leaves, and Caits, and in general anything resembling "endgame" is a complete blank to me outside of the guys with Battle-tested weapons as superbosses
Don't think there's much point to the stamp weapons for us. Initially in JP they were a decent option for a while since they did not have all of master of all out on release like we did. Prim's the best dark dealer we have

The elites around Flamesgrace and Victors Hollow drop materials that are used to upgrade Innocent and Fenrir weapons respectively. Those mats don't drop from anywhere else, so you need to integrate them into your daily routine.

Do the characters who max out at 3 or 4 stars ever get that cap released? Like do they eventually get the potential to go up to 5 stars or are these characters just shit?
No. 4*s are still pretty good, but yeah 3*s are dogshit and only good for shield breaking fodders and their easy influence boost. I heard Billy will get a really good Deathblow though, to the point people bringing him just for that.
Eventually 4*s will start to struggle for relevance, but they'll always have some use as breakers and utility especially to fill gaps in your 5* roster but also for synergy with the 5*s you do have. I'd expect Aslyte for example to stay relevant in ice teams for a long time unless your roster is ridiculously stacked for ice and Wingate will probably be generally useful to enable characters without strong damage passives like Kouren to deal big damage.

Right now they seem to be focusing on releasing units with favorable matchups against Tikilen in an attempt to entice people to pull. I don't think it's a coincidence that we're getting two characters with light and/or fan back to back shortly before the Tikilen cup and the datamined Theo/Scarecrow banner seems to support that theory too seeing as Theo can apply wind res up + regen and Scarecrow is the best breaker/damage dealer we have for her right now.
Maybe they're killing two birds with one stone then, while also delaying Haanit so more people spend on Kouren, Hasumi and that step-up
That said, we're a month away from that "special" content that they announced in the roadmap, I'd definitely start saving just in case
What does granting immunity during a boost mean?
Is that for those skills that cure status ailments? I believe how they work is, say you have something that says it cures bleeding and grants immunity to bleeding during a boost. It means if you spend BP with that skill, not only will it cure the bleeding, but it will also grant the target immunity to bleeding if the enemy tries to inflict it again (presumably for a number of turns based on how much BP you spent). The "B" in "BP" stands for "Boost", so whenever you see a "during a boost" effect, it means you need to spend BP to get that part of the effect.

If you're talking about just getting into the basement of the Tower of Remembrance, just go down the stairs once you get in there (which you do by doing the smith's quest). As you read the Memoirs, they appear as books you can interact with on the shelves in the basement.

Should I just do the easiest ones if I want the class seals? Or are they restricted in some fashion?
The 4 suggested classes for a hunt are also the ones that can drop class seals for said hunt. The seals only drop from the bonus chest which is why leveling 3*s to meet the thresholds is recommended
There are multiple kinds of buffs. Fiore's 3 turn one is a passive skill buff, the white border shows passive ones. her other one is an active buff. They function as 2 different buffs that stack. The passive one can be extended by Lynette's line swap buff, since that one is also passive. It will also upgrade it's buff amount up to 30%
Okay, but what about the other seals needed?
You get a flat amount per clear and some more from bonus chests. they're never a problem unless you luckshit a class seal early

Can ability board buffs be extended? I must be understanding buffs wrong. Fiore has a 3T attack up so I used her skill attack up and that didn't stack or extend the duration.

As much as you can, saving until pity as f2p is much harder than your usual gachas
If you have the patience of a buddha then you wait until the 5* powercreeps like cyrus comes to stepup and pray for 50:50 chance with 1200 gems instead of 6k, but this game also has limiteds which never comes there

Yeah, it's nice that unlike BT fights which have a daily attached to it, arena is a once-and-done thing. There's no reason to rush it unless you want to flex.

Its op if it lands, use sleep ally when bosses about to recover from break state so on next turn they do nothing instead of doing something that always comes first before your team.
If you can break the boss every 2 turns and sleep always lands you basicly stunlocks the boss forever.

Awakening gives more stats, but I'd go for limit breaking for the influence boost.

I'm finally at chapter 8 of MoA, but I'm horrifyingly underleveled and honestly only made it through chapter 7 because that boss was designed to die to Sofia.
My team is low-mid 50s except for Tressa at 59, and I'm trying to catch up off the level 60 random encounters but it's taking forever. My biggest saving grace is my team's finally starting to get the 5* active skills and those are often really good at breaking if they hit a weakness.
At what point should I start actually focusing on crafting gear instead of just rely on chests/buying/beating people up/"inquiring" and only crafting if one of my party members is woefully behind the weapon curve? I'm only asking because I'm starting to worry I might end up with full meteor equipment on everyone anyways just from grinding that much.
I started equipment grinding in Ch. 7. Then again, my 5*s were unawakened Millard, Viola and Fiore. Sophia is a big advantage for Ch. 8 so you'll want to make as much meteorite armor/weapons as you get from leveling up your team. You shouldn't need a full set of level 60 equipment for on all 8 units when you have Sophia in the team.
Also, if you hate fighting enemies for EXP, Invite/Hire some allies with 3-hit abilities (random target is fine) and run away from battles in the Ch. 8 areas until you run into caits. The yellows are worth 100k and the whites are worth 300k EXP. It's a lot faster than fighting everything.
Sofia is only 4/5*, so she's hitting the end of her current shelf life until the game decides to let me promote her to 5*

I guess you have too much luck to the point of being unlucky. Over here these bronze ones just keep multiplying without even trying, it seems like when doing an easy hunt there's always around 3~5 of them. Right now I have around 60 of the most common one, 10 of the other bronze one, 1 or 2 of a couple silver ones and no gold one.

I usually do ads while brushing my teeth so I end up watching them since it's 30s intervals. I'm sad because initially you could start an ad and immediately leave it while still getting the rewards, but they implemented 30s timers on exiting the ad break in one of the updates. Just like in FFBE: El Hermano.

Somehow rare, you can get... 50 neutral shards I think? with the nameless town exchange, the 4.5 and 5* travelers that participate in hunts get 5 per hunt and there's algo the weekly task that rewards more neutral shards
5 per hunt for 5* characters. If they have a rate up banner you get 10 more as a bonus. It's good to keep a couple tickets incase someone you like gets a rate up.
Got an golden Archer seal today from the hunt lads! First one I got so far. Pretty great being able to make my Scarecrow 5* Leading up to Tikilen. Now I just need to get my Fiore/Viola to 5 as well

In the future you'll be able to trade them for battle tested weapons which in turn are used as materials for the tier IV upgrades of Innocent and Fenrir weapons along with future weapon sets.

There was a point in phase 3 where I was down to just two active party members and spamming heal more every turn just to cling on, and then the full party revive + heal + full SP + full BP happened and I felt like I was given one hell of a lifeline to push through the last bit of his HP. Didn't even intend for Tressa to get the last blow but she did it anyways.

What are legendary ashes and fleece of remembrance used for?
Legendary ashes are for enhancing the stamp weapons. Stamp weapons kinda suck, but when enhanced they give you an exp bonus and since all attacks do 1 damage to caits anyway, you might as well get some extra exp plus there's a chance you start the fight with more BP to help break them.
The sheep fleece I think is just something you sell.

I actually was happy when I saw she had the feather on at all times and not just for the very end of her story

About 3 months into the game I think, though she doesn't look particularly good to me. Her gimmick is big, fat spear nukes with a chance of hurting herself but she lacks damage passives, her supplemental fire skills are all 1-hit and she has zero utility in her kit.
From what some JP players say, the meta slowly evolves into these super aggresive comps where damage is the be-all, so I can see her nukes and passive doing super well in that environment.
That said, the other limiteds offer more while keeping the numbers, soooo yeah, she's not a must pull.
Whoops, I misread her first passive. She's actually pretty solid in terms of spear damage and in particular in comps with multiple merchants as she gives everyone 15% spear damage up at full health. Not amazing on her own, but situationally strong.
You guys have been making sleep allies sound like something useful to get so I'm wondering: for those of you who bring allies for sleep, where do you recruit them?
And I just saw a youtube comment saying JP has an awakening stone exchange where you can trade in six of the same awakening stone for one stone of your choice. Six sounds like a lot, but this may be a solution to the issue of not being able to ever max collab units. Can anyone confirm whether or not collab awakening stones are part of this exchange feature?
