You saying this shows that you don't know the games. 3 had a significant BR change that made it so people have to lead targets making the BR way better as it was only useful long range if they actually have skill.
wrong
honestly if you never played h2 or 3 in their prime then your opinion is automatically invalid
you're just throwing shit at the wall without any real experience.
5 would've been better if it were fully available on PC with FOV support and mouse and keyboard. Aiming with a controller in that game just feels terrible compared to Titanfall 1 or Halo Infinite, I just can't get a feel for it.
halo gays be like: >HOLY SHIT THE MOVEMENT IN THIS SHOOTER IS SO GOOD WHY HAS THIS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE
despite titanfall and titanfall 2 having done it 10 fricking years ago
how is Halo as a single player game? been looking for shooters that feel like an adventure and give equal attention to shooting and adventure aspects and a while ago some dude recommended halo so I've been considering it.
you're crazy I said a "shooter" particularly a shooter that gives equal attention to shooting and adventure, aka is shooting is as good as it's adventuring.
and no surprisingly I didn't get recced half Life, had to figure out on my own to play it. also had to figure out it's trash regardless of fitting the bill somewhat unfortunately.
It's pretty good man. The first 3 games are "mid-essential" titles. They're something you'd put in a 50x50 thread.
Halo 1 is basically the progenitor of open world games, so playing through its single player campaign, you'll be able to appreciate the larger areas, even if there's a lot of boring, filler areas later in.
It's a good 8/10 time. It's not a Half Life 2 or an Ocarina, but it's definitely good and platform/genre defining, like a Crash Bandicoot or Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
That depends on what you mean by "feel like an adventure". Halo CE definitely felt like a fun sci-fi romp, but it is a mostly linear FPS across all games (Bar Infinite). It just has a good split of large-feeling open maps and small tight corridors.
If you do want to get into Halo, start with CE though. Its the start of the story and its the simplest one mechanically. The shooting is also good, but it really comes alive when you play on higher difficulties like Heroic or Legendary, especially when you get to Halo Reach. The enemy AI becomes very aggressive, its more than just "you take more damage", easily one of the better implementations of difficulty in a modern FPS.
>That depends on what you mean by "feel like an adventure".
What I mean by adventure is this:
Action gameplay is supplemented, or alongside either traversal/platforming, puzzles/problem solving, avoiding traps/environmental hazards, and finally exploration/navigation
technically a game could have all of these, but that would be a crazy hell of a game to have all of these without making one of them feel clearly like they were given less attention or effort than the other. And the greatest example of this is Resident Evil 4. Because it DOES technically have all of these except for the last one, and it doesn't matter because all of them feel like shallow filler and the game is still largely a shooting gallery.
I recently played through every Bungie Halo campaign in the MCC while on a nostalgia trip, and it's a blast. Halo CE is the weakest IMO because of the relative lack of weapon and enemy variety, but even then it's a fun game.
ODST and Reach are still my favourites because They don't have Flood levels.

I don't know about puzzles or environmental hazards, but ODST has you navigating an abandoned city at night while you look for clues about your missing squad and the secret mission that you were chosen for, and you can look for audio logs and unlock hidden caches around the city between missions. You can also do most of the missions in any order you want.
Less of an adventure theme though, and more of a lonely mystery/noir tone.
>See this on the Store page >thought it was a new Bionicles game at a glance >It's actually the store image for Halo Infinite

I agree with you but this near gibberish quote is hilarious.
2 and 3 were especially annoying because of the battle rifle.
its ok to admit you just like spammy garbage military weapons.
if you dont like balance in video games then you honestly should kys you cynical pos.
>balance
>just spam a burst weapon
>spam
>burst
pick one moron
h2 fixed almost every problem with every fps there is.
anything else you play is actually worse.
Yes, spam a burst weapon. There's no bloom unlike a semi auto one.
You saying this shows that you don't know the games. 3 had a significant BR change that made it so people have to lead targets making the BR way better as it was only useful long range if they actually have skill.
Yeah it was
>Infinite
Shitty and soulless

Best mp in the series
>best mp in the series
if you're a filthy casual.
There's more skill expression in h5 pistol duels than in any of the other entry in the series.
Multiplayer:
Halo Infinite > Halo CE > El Dewrito > Halo 5 > Halo 3 > Halo 2 > Halo Reach > Halo 2A > Halo 4

Ok I did play them in their prime now what
also your first 3 are all literally pc garbage
this tells me all i need to know
you never played h2 or 3 for longer than 2 hours
I did play them in their prime. Amazon Prime with Luna.
yeah you're a frickin weirdo.
So the argument is that the games are trash garbage but if played them as a teenager on Xbox Live then you'd like them? Understandable.
5 would've been better if it were fully available on PC with FOV support and mouse and keyboard. Aiming with a controller in that game just feels terrible compared to Titanfall 1 or Halo Infinite, I just can't get a feel for it.

No I played them all during what you would personally consider optimal age to experience said games and understand the gameplay.
lmao

>bloom

lmfao cope
you just dont like fun eh? but at least you're not trash!
The 19-year old energy from this

I'm not talking about the DMR
>theres no bloom
wtf do you think this is, cs?
>spam your deag and get a totally random headshot
yikes
I'm talking about the Carbine.
Campaign:
CE > 2 > Reach > 3 > ODST > 4 > 5 > Haven't played Infinite's
Multiplayer:
2 > 3 > CE > Infinite > 5 > 4 > Reach
This was peak halo multiplayer.
Go frick yourself zoomer.
For me, it was Sidewinder and Boarding Action.
I missed out on PC Halo CE so I didn't get to play Death Island and Danger Canyon until MCC.
how is Halo as a single player game? been looking for shooters that feel like an adventure and give equal attention to shooting and adventure aspects and a while ago some dude recommended halo so I've been considering it.

this is a weird thing to suggest
did he also recommend half life, grand theft auto and zelda?
>grand theft auto and zelda?

it's sarcasm cuz buddy recommended one of the most popular franchises of all time
kinda makes you wonder where he was 25-30 years ago

What you're describing is more RE4 and Half Life 2.
Think of Halo as a 2000's Doom set in Canada.
>What you're describing is more RE4
did you not just read what I said bro?
it's about the same problem with half Life 2, except it's shooting is shit too.
well anyway, I've been told by the few that bothered to try to answer this, that the game I'm looking for doesn't exist, so I just keep searchin.
but thanks for atleast clarifying that halo doesn't apply, guess those that recommended it were moronic or somehow misunderstood.
It's just a silly want. Ironically you're talking about games like GTA here, where the focus is more on the map.
Maybe MGS3, but whatever.
>It's just a silly want.
Nah. It's just high level, sorry you don't understand lmao.

The campaign was always the best part of the Halo games.
Halo 2 was a goddamn romp and Halo 3 was just the Halo 2 fans' little brothers.
>Halo 2 was a goddamn romp
Right until the lackluster ending over obvious develtopment time issues.
The MP, anon
any Halo where precision rifles are hitscan, it's immediately bad
>See this on the Store page

At what point did they just sort of say "frick it" to military aesthetics altogether?
>At what point did they just sort of say "frick it" to military aesthetics altogether?
When they gave players cosmetics and every single player builds a Gundam.
They said frick the military aspect in halo 4
If Infinite was so good OP, then why did they cancel any further seasonal development?
Because the recent maps are poor, the story is aimless, and it doesn't capitalize on more modern concepts like Battle Royale and Hero Shooters.
