>oh hey that's a cool game you spent years of development on! >what's it called?
unicorn overlord is a badass name though. frick off.
triangle strategy is plain but sells the main ideas >strategy game >with three major 'morality' paths
They're Japs. They can slap two random words together and nobody on their marketing team bats an eye because it's not their native language. If I was to release a game called "Perilla Almohada," none of you would care unless you looked up a translation.
How come no one tells them it's fricking cringe? If I released a game callled Konnichiwa Omuraisu, English-speakers would call me a homosexual and rightfully so.
My theory is these companies actually are the yakuza money laundering fronts people say they are and they have 0 actual interest in making video games it is just to launder money.
But you homosexuals don't get it and keep forcing them to try to make a game so they are just shamelessly using AI to make the game now.
It is just to wash money you gaijin idiots stop asking for actual development.
>Unicorn Overlord
That's actually a cool title and it's clearly invoking the energy of a series called "Ogre Battle" especially "Person of Lordly Caliber"
Millions of people talked about triangle strategy because of its stupid name. If a major studio came out and released a new game but named it "Untitled Game A" it would generate lots of hype.
Still remember the brief seething the theme song’s reveal caused since the words “Triangle Strategy” are some of the only English words used in otherwise entirely Japanese lyrics, and repeatedly too
Getting Unicorn Overlord too btw
When it was just the demo, yeah. On e they revealed the only thing getting dropped was the “Demo” part is where it all started, pretty funny all things considered
Is Triangle Strategy any good? Does it have a cool magic system? I've been fiending for an SRPG lately and I can't decide if I want to play through FFT again or play something new.
Also, I'm looking forward to Unicorn Overlord as well. Vanillaware hasn't done wrong by me yet, so I have faith it'll be excellent.
Hate that shit, FF16 has it loads with everyone being snarky and passive aggressive even when they’re clearly just asking for help or excusing themselves
While that style of localisation is not exactly unique to the game I expect it was at least somewhat an attempt to affect the type of dialogue associated with GoT due to it being cited as an influence. Another small detail but I noticed a lot of phonetic spelling for “Britishisms” instead of just spelling them correctly, which makes little sense to me since for anyone who played with the English dub there would be no point in attempting to convey accents or pronunciations that way since they would just hear them
It’s good, it’s kind of a tactical rpg for people who don’t play too many of them. Can get a bit diff when trying to have everyone survive, but not too much trouble. Good story, good replayability and it looks and sounds gorgeous.
The Black person calling it “really shit” is moronic.
It's decent enough yuh.
Not sure what you would define as 'cool magic system' though.
fire magic can melt ice to water, or evaporate water, or burn oil for fire patches.
ice can freeze water or oil.
every character is basically its own unique class with unique moves/abilities.
It's pretty decent. though it can be a kick in the dick at times.
Plot is meh and it has too much dialogue, the characters go from boring to annoying and the english dub is horrendous. The gameplay however is fun, like a tactics ogre game but changing the class system for unique characters. Magic works like any other skill, it cost action points that refill every turn. Mages have strong skills and aoe but are useless when they run out of points so they need to waste a turn to recharge.
Lots of dialogue but not to a VN level
All characters are unique with their own unique skills and quirks
Your choices in the story decides which stages you take and which side characters you get, and obviously later, the ending you get
It's pretty fun
>HarvestMoon clone
DO
IT
NOW

This. Monolingual people often fail to grasp this.
How come no one tells them it's fricking cringe? If I released a game callled Konnichiwa Omuraisu, English-speakers would call me a homosexual and rightfully so.
They probably don’t care. And if the argument for why they should amounts to “it’s cringe” then why they frick would they?
what's doorknob pillow about

Shut the frick up you moronic c**t
That game was so trash square has to give it away by bundling it with Octopath 2 just to sell copies.
Here's a game anons play everyday. In fact there's some playing it right now.
>Unicorn Overlord
That's actually a cool title and it's clearly invoking the energy of a series called "Ogre Battle" especially "Person of Lordly Caliber"
Never go into marketing
>Muh marketing
Just admit you're a soulless bug

Let me introduce you to the "No Name" brand in Canada.
their shit is everywhere here. very popular.
They used to have shit like this for the military. Reminds me of the movie Repoman.
This is true, nobody would have cared about Untitled Goose Game if it weren't for dumbass name
Unicorn Overlord is a decent name in my opinion
Triangle Strategy and Various Daylife are shit tier though
Imagine getting a parent to buy this for their kid.
Hard to believe a week was spent on either of these.
A week of what? Development time? Time brainstorming a name? Playtime from combined players?
For me it's the spin-off to the titular "Rooms" franchise.
Unicorn Overlord is soul
Bravely Default
Like they named it after a captcha when they lost a bet.
Still remember the brief seething the theme song’s reveal caused since the words “Triangle Strategy” are some of the only English words used in otherwise entirely Japanese lyrics, and repeatedly too

I remember when the game was first revealed and everyone assumed it was a placeholder title.
When it was just the demo, yeah. On e they revealed the only thing getting dropped was the “Demo” part is where it all started, pretty funny all things considered
the placeholder title was Project Triangle Strategy
live a live
>umm it's a palindrome that represents the duality of man
Unicorn Overlord is a fricking kickass name though.
bottom will flop to hell
every vanillaware game flops they dont care, all of their games are pure soul
Hopefully it will be a soulful flop at least, like God Hand.
Resident Evil Village, they tried too hard to force the VIII into the title
>Resident EVIIIer
>Resident Evil: VIIIains
>Resident Evil: Taco ComoVIIIa
they picked the best alternative to be fair mate
What's NICRN VERLRD?
>what's it called
>console exclusive
not a single idea, sorry
Square Enix names their games like that and then people think the writing in the game itself is going to be any better
Very succinct post.
>filtered by a game’s title
Sad state of affairs

just play TO/Ogre Battle instead, it's basically just a really shit version of those games with ""modernized"" mechanics.
No. The localization that "spices up the writing" is also pretty bad.
Hate that shit, FF16 has it loads with everyone being snarky and passive aggressive even when they’re clearly just asking for help or excusing themselves
>FF16 has it loads with everyone being snarky and passive-aggressive
I noticed this too. I wonder why they thought this was a good idea, tbqh.

Because the "translators" think having a genuine and sincere conversation isn't "realistic" enough, that is all.

Gameplay is fricking great, theres way too much bullshit between missions though. Im currently on chapter 16 and its a solid 8/10 tactical experience

Honestly pretty excited for unicorn overlord.
Imagine you worked on a game called Maiden Rape Assault: Violent Semen Inferno
Would you put it on your CV?
It's my band name.
It's my maiden name.
Never before has strategy been so triangular.
>game is called triangle strategy
>company is called square enix
>triangle strategy
>they don't even move on a triangular grid
I can’t tell if people bothered by the names are memeing or not anymore
What's the problem with Unicorn Overlord? It fit next to the Worm Ouroboros imo.
