People act like this is inconsequential but this shit is where all of the dumb movie game follow npcs and stand around and listen to people talk shit started. The idea of blending cutscenes and gameplay is how you get RDR2s and God of Wars many segments where you're basically just listening to dialogue but are forced to still interact instead of putting the controller down and relaxing.
>dialogue is completely ignorable >many interesting things in the lab to look at and interact with >would've had continuous action for more than an hour before this point (on a first blind playthrough at least)
Literally nothing wrong
>Went from "You can still do stupid shit in cutscenes to "Yeah you just sit there doing nothing listening to no dialogue but you can watch a lot of empty nothingness!"

Ok and? There's not a lot of empty nothingness. There's a lot going on.
Oh it’s another game made by known scammers who commit false advertising and fraud.
Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.
I wish there were MORE unskippable dialogue scenes in Half-Life 2.
One of the problems with this game was that the setting and setpieces were often slow enough that you could have had a lot more exposition about the intervening years, but instead they still tried to give these sequences the same sort of rushed, "No time to explain, Gordon!" feeling as HL1, which is flawed because in that game Black Mesa was literally falling apart around you, which explains everyone's brevity. But even by the time you reach Lambda Labs, you get a huge infodump.
I hated reaching Black Mesa East in HL2 and getting nothing for my time except zooming in on some old newspaper clippings about the 7 Hour War.
Oh wow it's another chud making an useless thread
I don't blame the old man for trying to pawn her off
You'd better make love to my daughter, Gordon.
>gaymers get filtered by dialogue
This is why you will never be taken seriously.

Those dialogue scenes are almost isolated to their respective chapters
HL2 was very ahead of its time, even has a Black person and strong negress mutt
So it's a sequel to Half Life. Were you expecting Serious Sam?
What game?

>He has forgotten about Mr. Breens wild ride
I remember it well because it was really cool

You get to see the insides of the citadel and the vast scale of the combine empire and you're making that face? Holy shit do something with your life.

>he wasn’t tossing shit around the room the whole time
You didn’t even play the game

the thing is your still completely free to move around and explore the room while the dialog is happening
