    LMAO
All they had to do was copy/paste Black Flag, but no, that's too complicated for modern Ubisoft

Even worse: it's 1 million players. There's an 8 hour free trial on every system right now.

No way did this cost 200 milli, im convinced these companies just make up numbers for some kind of financial scam.

It was in development for over a decade. Hell, $200 million seems low.

How is that even possible though? It's clearly not the typical decade long game, I thought it's kinda shallow? It should be a full on pirate life sim with that long and that much money.

It's said the upper management was constantly swapped out, and each one would completely want to redesign the game to something entirely different.

There needs to be better oversight from higher ups, why let a bunch of chucklefricks start from scratch if THIS is what the final one ended up with
At least they got one thing right, adding so many women and minorities that its unplayable, imagine what a easy slam dunk making the women sexy pirates would have been, but there so used to using that as a excuse to get bailed out by blackrock. They need to shift gears fast. Japan is slowly taking over the entire industry and are on the verge of dominating because their allowed to use cute girls
Blackrock pulls out once the damage has been done, white people allow this to happen because because they think conservatives are still there worse enemy

Games in development hell likes this, Suicide Squad, vampire Masquerade 2 will create the game two or three times and scrap each one. Eventually they have to just put something out the door. That's why it costs so much to make.

It's because they don't have a vision for the game. Instead of having thoughts and saying "i want that in my game", they say "what will make the most money?" And you can imagine how trends change over 2-3 years, so they scrap it to appeal to new trends.

Anyone based would be gone in a year ot two if they had to deal with these israelites AND 12+ layers DEI bullshit... I guess that explains why it took so long, they kept burning through anyone who tried.

It's because of moronic government contracts. They got funding from some asian country under the condition that the game HAD to be released and apparently they couldn't even scratch what they already made to start over with the same concept but a better foundation.

Playing Black Flag and having a blast. Turn off PhysX particles though, causes massive stuttering.

        YD

that's a bug with physx with some games like mirror's edge it can easily be fixed because the games use an older version dlls of physx for some reason instead of using the one provided by the driver which causes lag

Didn't Ubisoft get funding from the government of Singapore for this game? This is still bad for revenue, but I do not think the financial impact will be as bad as people think.

For 18€ (yes), you can play any Ubisoft game day one
          But that's still too much

You are probably confusing it with the numbers that usually float around in threads like this about other games which are about concurrent players on steam.

850K total players will probably put it around 50K to 100K peak concurrent which is low for a game that cost so much to make

Ubisoft heads are moronic in general.
For example, unlike Sega, Bethesda, Capcom or even Square Enix, they have never removed Denuvo from their older games, because they have a long grudge against piracy on PC.

I don't think enough people even care.

so this is just black flag ship battles but with less stuff to do similar graphics and they are calling it a AAAA game and charging $70 for it?

      Anonymous

Yeah, basically. Although they even ruined the Black Flag battles and made them more arcadey here (the guns on the ship can basically swivel and turn any direction) and enemy ships are covered in glowing red "weak points" that explode for massive damage. Weather and windy basically play no role and ships also turn on a dime.
