Ok, but how would YOU direct a new Zelda game?
I'd make the gameplay and visual/musical style similar to Ocarina of Time but with less linearity and more content. Key items such as the hookshot could be unlocked in more than one area of the game. Certain choices could affect how small bits of the story and gameplay would progress. Certain quests would have a companion character who could become a optional partner upon completion (maximum of one at a time).

Zelda games are for Children
give a child the first LOZ game. lets see how fast they beat it
Okay. I did when I was a child? What is your point? Zoomer kids now are too stupid to figure out Zelda games?
>when i was a child
looking up the IGN walkthrough on your iPad doesnt count, you didnt beat it. now get your ass to bed
>tell someone their game is for children
>their comeback is no u
Yep. Arguing with a child.
Kill the series off because it peaked 24 years ago & hold everyone at gunpoint until they develop Xenoblade X2
I would add blackjack and hookers.
Probably give Zelda some huge knockers too.
t. Bender
Honestly? Keep it away from Nintendo and the current Zelda.
At this point, I genuinely believe the franchise could do better in competent third-party hands.
Every developer literally sucks now outside of the indie gays
>current Zelda *team*
Fixed typo
Either way, Zelda hasn't been good/decent since TP and it will continue to live up to its half-assed, wasted potential as long as Nintendo continues to play it safe with age restriction BS and utilize shitty hardware for their future consoles.
I'm fine with it going to a competent indie team too, literally anyone but nu-Nintendo at this point.
Add Trains, cartoons, figurines and other things only a psychotic manchild would enjoy.
Oh wait.
I forgot that game existed. The DS was sure a strange time for Zelda
Oracle of Secrets.
Ignore anyone bugging for nonlinearity in a fricking Zelda game because that's how we got BotW and ALBW
Pay lipservice to the idea at best, don't make it crushingly impossible to go out of order, but have a very definite set progression path that most players won't have a good reason to not follow
Basically just make LTTP/OOT again
They spent the last two decades making LttP/OoT again and people rejected it. It's time for the age of NES inspired Zelda to return.
They spent most of the '00s doing that and both times it was on consoles they were rushed as frick
The only thing NES inspired about BotW is that it looks like shit
real. a rougelite zelda 1 style game with definative progression where each new classic item/weapon/spell lets you get further could be interesting
Honestly it kind of shocked me that they never took MM's time-based system and expanded upon it for side quests and shit. Having a quest system based around weekly calendars could've been interested and offered new takes on exploration.
>Basically just make LTTP/OOT again
Nah, people are sick of it; its run its course.
Granted dungeons can stay but they need a major change in their core formula.
>and both times it was on consoles they were rushed as frick
WW was definitely a rushed and incomplete mess but TP felt pretty complete IMO.
TP was more complete since it parasitized a lot of stuff from Wind Waker's development.
Understandably so, since WW's art direction was a massive PR frickup from Nintendo at the time. You can definitely tell they wanted to forget it ever happened and sidelined the art style to handhelds for a reason.
>forget it ever happened
>use it for the successful Capcom and DS games
ebin trorru
It's a little of both
>Twilight Princess exists because holy shit WW poisoned the water hole and Aonuma had to keep his job and fast
>Phantom Hourglass is Toon Link because someone told Aonuma the DS could do toon graphics and he IMMEDIATELY demanded it be a Toon Link game.

>Upon returning from E3, I heard from my staff that the DS was hardware was capable of supporting toon-shading. I immediately asked my staff to implement cel-shading on the DS because I was disappointed that the cel-shaded Zelda was not received as well as I had hoped.
unsure of gameplay style, but a zelda game set in an ancient futuristic world like the time stone section in skyward sword could be interesting. either that or one about the first instance of link and hylia before the events or SS
harem orgy with all of the female characters featured in the series
Based
Harem game like what these anons said
Make the girls hot. Gameplay and weapon durability doesn’t really matter
Hyrule Warriors
Best Zelda game made after the series jumped to 3D. Maybe one day we'll get a sequel.
>but with less linearity and more content.
These are the words of a man who has never even attempted being a game dev, even on a small scale.
These are words of a man who has never even attempted at having sex before, even on a small scale.
I'd make the laser sword work in 3D.
Air combat game, your wingmen are cute girls one of them is a e-girl
give it combos. idk. dmc but zelda.
I would finally make an Imprisoning War game.
>Play as Link's father/ancestor, a member of the Knights of Hyrule
>You're sent by the King of Hyrule to the corrupted Sacred Realm's entrance in order to investigate the seal only to realize it has weakened and monsters are beginning to emerge from it
>Strange disappearances have been occurring in the kingdom as those who enter the Sacred Realm turn into monsters that attack Hyrule
>Being given the Pendant of Courage in order to protect you from the beasts, you and your Knights of Hyrule bros must find the Seven Sages and bring them to the King in order to seal the Sacred Realm's entrance once more
>Each dungeon would be a once peaceful area of Hyrule that has been corrupted by Ganon's malice flowing from the Sacred Realm, with the bosses being monster versions of former Hylians
>Dungeon items are given to you by your Knight friends once you meet up with them in the dungeon
>Final dungeon is Hyrule Castle, where you all unite to protect the Sages while an onslaught of monsters attack from all entrances
>Final boss is Ganon taking the form of the King of Hyrule in order to trick your fellow comrades into attacking you
>Game ends with you and your friends dying in combat in order to protect the Sages as the seal is completed. Your last act before death is to give the Pendant of Courage to one of the sages, who ends up being Sahasrala's father
I'd prefer the game to be 2D like ALTTP but a 3D game with a similar artstyle to ALTTP's concept art could be interesting.
