The gameplay in reincarnation is 50% walking around and 50% turn based cooldown combat. It's not good gameplay but it's not difficult so never really becomes annoying like the gameplay in Drakengard can. Thankfully it's not the kind of Gacha were you need to spend money to beat it, the main story can be steamrolled with any of the newer characters.
Everything aside from the gameplay is actually pretty good, story started off kind of weak but lots more content has been added for each character over time and the current arc has been paying off on a ton of setup. If you're interested in the overarching plot of Taro's games then Reincarnation is mandatory.

Each chapter of the game introduces a new character who you experience a story through, and there's an overarching character you play as between those segments. But in 99% of the combat sections you can fight using a team of whatever three characters you choose. There's around 30 playable characters at the moment but you can't get anyone from the other drakenier games outside of collab events.
