Behold. I got like a thousand BP from the Battle Factory before getting the Gold Symbol. I got completely fricked there because I was playing the Japanese version without understanding much of the language.

I finished the gen 3 one, almost done with the gen 4 one (frick battle factory) and also have and have no interest in playing it anymore unless they put it in a generation where it doesn't take 20 hours to legitimately make a decent team with the proper EVs.

You should watch LRXC's Factory streams. He goes very in depth on his thought process in battles and choosing mons. If you use a spreadsheet, a lot of things are very predictable. Even without one, you would know to prepare for bad types like water, dragon, or ice and bad move hints like high risk high return with some prior battle experience.

Why would you ever suggest a stream of a guy making one turn decision every twenty minutes

Because he explains how he prepares for all the dumb bullshit that could come next.

If RNG is enough to destroy your team then it wasn't a good team.

Getting a 50 streak is easy as frick.
The quick claw OHKO moves killing more than 1 Pokemon is extremely low occurrence only remembered so strongly because of negativity bias

I probably could've beaten it with my team, I was using Salamence, Milotic and Metagross.
It was just a matter of interest. I lost the Battle Tower streak to bullshit and then climbing back up I just thought 'this is really fricking boring' and quit.

Is that why Werster has numerous videos of him getting fricked over in the Gen 3 Frontier?

          Anonymous

Yes. I knew you were going to bring up Werster too.
Swampert/Metagross/Latios is just the fastest team to throw together, you know, because he's speedrunning? It's not the most optimal party possible, that depends on the facility.

Speed is not all that matters for efficiency otherwise you wouldn't even be whining about RNG. Think about each member of the team and what they do:
              >Latios: Fast Damage Dealer, ok bulk, can't heal
              >Metagross: Slow Damage Dealer, good bulk, can't heal
              >Swampert: Slow Damage Dealer, good bulk, can't heal
The team just shits out damage, the second you get statused it starts falling apart and that's why everyone b***hes about RNG.

Depends on what you mean by efficient. Do you want to go fast? You'd use a hyper offense team like the speedrun does. Do you want a longer streak in the Tower? You'd use a stall team. Do you want to play without manip? Exarion's current manipless route uses different Pokemon and even then it's questionable.

    >ok how many of you have actually played the battle frontier?
I played both the Gen 3 Frontier and the Gen 4 Frontier. I completed Silver in both. I got a few gold's in Gen 3 as well.

But recently, I have noticed the REAL problem with both Battle Frontiers: they both lack a Super Line where you only fight fully evolved Pokemon. In both Battle Frontiers, you need to have 21 fricking battles against NFE Pokemon, BEFORE the strong fully evolved Pokemon begin to appear. And every time you lose, you start from zero. I think this is horrible, and it takes away most of the fun from the Battle Frontiers.

This is way battle facilities like the SM/USUM Battle Tree or the BW/BW2 Battle Subway, are OBJECTIVELY better than the Battle Frontier, even if they have less "variety".

I think that's the "Elephant in the room" that nobody talks about.

For the Factory, the early battles let you swap Pokemon more, which give you better mons in the next draft if you swapped enough. It really helps in the last few sets in gen 4 L50 when group 2 open level mons are utter trash.

Oh, man, let me tell you about the Battle Frontier in Pokemon. It's like this twisted carnival of madness, where the Pokemon are plotting against you, and the trainers have this secret alliance with the bushes. Yeah, the bushes, man! They whisper tactics to the trainers, and you can't trust anything – not even the Caterpie that looks at you funny.

You enter this virtual maze of confusion, and the Battle Factory is like a parallel universe where your Pokemon are secretly aliens trying to communicate with you through Morse code. Beep boop beep, my Blastoise is probably an intergalactic spy, man. And don't get me started on the Battle Pike – it's like a snake charmer's nightmare! You walk in, and the walls start closing in on you, and you're not sure if it's real or just some digital illusion.

Then there's the Battle Dome, a coliseum of cosmic proportions where the Pokemon are the gladiators, and the trainers are just spectators with popcorn. And the Battle Arena? It's like a psychological mind game. You think you're in control, but the Jigglypuff in the corner is actually the puppet master pulling the strings of reality.

The Battle Palace, oh dear Arceus, it's like a haunted house where your emotions are the ghosts, and they're playing hide-and-seek with your sanity. You try to strategize, but the Haunter of doubt keeps creeping up behind you, whispering that your Charizard is actually a Ditto in disguise.

I swear, the Battle Frontier is like a fever dream where reality and fantasy dance a tango, and you're left wondering if your Pikachu is plotting a rebellion against your authority. It's a chaotic symphony of confusion, and the only way out is to ride a Tauros into the sunset while wearing a tinfoil hat to protect yourself from the psychic waves. Gotta catch 'em all, right? More like gotta escape this psychedelic nightmare!

    >have multiple high-difficulty battle facilities in gens 3 and 4 when getting good IVs is basically a crapshoot
    >gen 6 rolls around and makes IV breeding for perfect stats actually feasible
    >we never get a battle frontier in that gen or ever afterward
I will never forgive Game Freak, this is why I only ever really played in the battle factories.

I thought 3's was kinda boring, but I really enjoyed 4's. The Battle Factory in particular was my favorite part, sunk tons of hours into both games' Battle Factories.

I did, though I was too young to really get what was going on, I didn't know about natures and EV training so I just used Pokemon I raised normally or thought were strong, I remember getting a Silver against Tucker, Emerald had a replay feature and I saved the fight just so I could listen to the Frontier Brain music over and over.

I think if a BF was in a modern title I'd definitely tryhard at it.

This. I screwed around with it as a kid, but it was wasn’t really accessible enough for me at the time. It’s crazy to me that they haven’t delivered a proper frontier since breeding and training were streamlined in Gen 6 (and keep getting easier). I’ve cleared every facility since then (Tree is the best among them). More variety would be nice.
