If you need to ask, the answer is no.
It will never end so the story will always be unsatisfying but it does have kino moments already.
Rates don't matter, you can finish all the meaningful content with whatever pops out for free.

Genshin has some of the best player friendly systems for rolling in almost any gacha.
In terms of gameplay the two games are only superficially alike. Otherwise star rail has no open world, significantly less content, arguably worse story and probably worse gameplay mechanics depending on if you prefer arpg games or turn based 4 homie games.

Genshins story is simple, fun and comprehensive. Star rail is boring and poorly written in comparison. There is room to grow for star rail but Genshin seriously mogs star rail in story. It's not even close.

Rate up weapon and character banners are mutually exclusive, you can never get a 5* weapon on a 5* character banner.
As shit as Genshin is it's completely, 100% accurate to say it has one of if not the most forgiving gacha pull systems out there.

There are so many gatcha with friendlier rolling systems. The only redeeming aspects of genshit is the exploration and combat being active.
It's like Trails more than anything, I find it pretty damn fun.
The two redeeming elements of Genshin were the action combat and the exploration.
Star Rail has neither of these. It has all of the bad parts of Genshin and none of the good parts.
The character designs are also much less memorable than Genshin's IMO.

Is Lumbus actually good? Like I loved both Lob corp and Library of Ruina but I was so pissed its a fricking gacha I refused to even try it.
Yes, it’s the most un-gacha like in the list in that you can easily get 100% gacha collection with just the battle pass and grinding. It’s the only gacha that I know that lets you straight up grind for sparks with stamina. It is entirely possible to get 100% gacha collection without even rolling if you are autistic enough
Story and music are up to project moon standard, gameplay is ruina sidegrade
Rates are the same. Honestly I like it for 2 reasons:
1) it's relaxing turn-based instead of brainless action game
2)daily quest takes a lot less time compared to genshin horrid commissions.
They are also giving a ton of free rolls to people atm so it's a good moment to jump in.
Only bad thing I can think of is that it has like 1/1000 of the content of Genshin. I've played for 1 month without grinding super hard and I've already finished all content in the game atm.

Autobattler is a super common feature in turn based games to make farming less tedious. Even multiple old Final Fantasy had that.
Genshingays have deluded themselves into thinking that doing a repetitive daily chore manually is better than autoing it.

It's ok, I enjoy it a lot.
Don't expect for it to be a "main game" though, dailies take like 5 mins minimum, and that minimum is all you need most of the times.
i like it quite a bit. it provides a better gacha experience because you can auto and complete your dailies very quickly. genshin required too much manual labor which exacerbated the tedium. i like the characters more, too. plus there is no paimon.
Eh, Genshin is still better on almost every aspect, but this Honkai did introduce a lot of QoL changes that have to be introduced in Genshin too otherwise it would be just ridiculous.
