When they go belly up or decide to shut down their service, and they will. You have 30 days to backup all your games before they shut down their servers.

I use GOG over steam, the catch I was talking about is them shutting down, its not sustainable. Why do you think they keep trying to push their own rules over the years adding always online and crap with mtx. The 30 days backup thing is just what they have front and centre on their Q&A on the very question of shutting down.

Lot of newer games won't shot up on it until way later (if at all) because lot of publishers demand DRM on their games. In those cases, if you're okay with DRM, then Steam is the goto.
Otherwise GOG.
There really is no reason to mess with Epic, unless you must play Fortnite or some shit or claiming free games.

Not in my lifetime, more likely to be bought out by microwiener when gaben dies choking on sausage. GOG on the other hand will 100% shut down in my lifetime, in fact probably within the next 10-15 years if that.
Reminder that you're talking about a storefront owned by the company that made a bank thanks to Witcher games and Cyberslop 77. They are not going to shut down any time soon.

You're paying insane prices for ancient abandonware kept afloat by stolen community fixes sold for profit
Doesn't show up in my Steam library.
