Grinding away for a whip. Just got 82 slayer. Thinking of making a bunch of wild pies and boosting a whip.
trying to get 99 rc, almost at 98, but it's so boring that I work on it for 2 days and quit the game for a month
Guardians of the rift definitely helps with the RC grind, it's still a slog but feels more gamey.
I played a bunch of it to get the outfit and pouch and stuff, I am now doing zeah bloods to 99 because it's chill and earns a lot of money
I haven't played in a few months... I'm still pissed that my osrs got reset when it turned into rs3 or whatever the frick abomination it is. I was level 80 in a dozen things and don't have the time to regrind that shit.
Stopped playing when oldschool runescape went woke after jagex did lgbt troony shit in 2017.
Returned in 2020, they did the same thing and in 2 years they added more sjw content with official pride parade 2022 and banned anybody who spoke against it. Removed/edied previous content like quests and npc they deemed 'offensive'

unless you are "barely making rent" tier poverty, I really recommend just paying for membership until your account is at the point where you wipe your ass with 6m, if you're training slayer you'll get there sooner rather than later too

Are bonds still 6m? I might have that much saved. It seems like everytime I make enough the price goes up a mill. I don't really have a way to make money except trying to merch to the best of my poor ability. It's easy money it just takes a bit of time and consistency.

osrs doesn't do tradable event items like that, you just go to diango in draynor and buy them for basically nothing, except phats and santas, which are given out en masse every year so they're like a few thousand on the GE

As someone who has played an unhealthy amount of vidyascape I will say that the server's quality very good as long as you're only interested in 2007 content. The shilling is not so good but that's because everyone who plays runescape is autistic and can't form coherent sentences or express themselves like an ordinary person. Still a great experience if you treat it as a single player game which isn't very different from how most people treat osrs as these days.
Honestly even in these highly populated mmos I can't seem to replicate that mid 2000s effortless & highly social environment where everyone is interested in talking with you. It's awkward silence whether you have 10 players or a thousand players

I second this as another Vscaper who only pops in and out nowadays, but has zero regrets about grinding hard during my peak ~2 years on the server. It was great times, and the memories are more than make number go up, it was fun interactions with many different players over time. Vidyascape is unrivaled on many fronts in the realm of private servers. No mandatory account registration anywhere else, adhering to authentic experience of olden days (no custom Iron Men flying around with lightsabers and AK-47s in Runescape), not a bunch of namegayging staff-sucking-off for special treatment. That cringe bullshit is rampant in all other private servers. So either you play nu-Jagex bullshit and complain like a whiny Stockholm Syndrome baby, yet still pay them money and invest your time into their game. Or you choose a really solid alternative private server, and one rooted in epic 4chinz principles of don't be a fricking Black person homosexual and we can all have a good time playing some vidya.

I think it's generally better money per hour at sharks but less xp than barbarian

assuming you have a fire cape and can get into the inner part of Mor Ul Rek, try infernal eels, they're extremely AFK and give decent profit, albeit slow exp, and you never have to bank at all

yes, but almost all of it is locked behind a couple hundred hours of grind and involves autistic "mechanics" like learning to swap your entire gear set midfight, and doing unintuitive movement that abuses how the game handles server ticks

Working on 99 Farming. Hit 96 last night. Doing Tithe Farm finally to unlock the fashionscape outfit. Dont mind it that much, good xp too. While doing this im doing MLM working on 99 Mining. Currently 82. Gonna slowly try to max by next year. 1945 total right now.
I never got into PVP after getting rekt a few times. It seems really nuanced from my impression. For one you have to figure out how to exploit certain combos of skills to get high damage output while minimizing your level. You also have to be good or use scripts to click around on things on the right ticks. It's not really that pvp is le "bad", just decidedly runescape.
its easier if you ease yourself in with f2p world pking because theres way less gear switches. Some people like to go right off the deep end and just grind LMS though to get into it.
You missed out on 8 years of f2p and members multiway combat pking and edgeville 1v1 pk from rs2, dedicated worlds being relatively full and fun, when the game wasn't run by helmietroons and tickskilling homosexuals. You'd only do it to fund your food/pots and gear.

Then I’ll carpal tunnel out 75 nigging and finish the Frem hard for kino rooftop shortcut and Tan Hide. I expected 70 Mining/Smithing to go poorly but all the reddit minigames make it fly by, profitably. MLM and Giant’s Foundry are true ezscape shit

It works on my computer (obvs) and it works on my laptop and it works for my friend but there are users reporting it not working, and there are discrepencies in how it works for myself and my friend. It has over 1000 active users apparently and I'm finally done school now so I can get to work on fixing it. I've been wanting to get Settled to use it because as a tileman he should be pretty pinterested in it, but first I have to make sure it's working properly. If the source of the error is what I think it might be, it might be a pain in the ass to resolve.

People begged for OSRS, and when they got it they voted in the very thing that destroyed the game, turning every interaction into a quantifiable exchange of time or gold for experience, and reducing the game into an attempt to find the most efficient conversion formula.

Yes, this is my problem with it too. I played a lot of osrs pre-ge and trading meant either using the forums, rsbuddy, posting on the vg general or asking a clan chat. It was a lot more social. But also, the game was dying from 2013 to 2015, so I can see why they did it.
I don't think osrs right now is that bad per se. Solo ironman is pretty enjoyable with a lot of varied things to do if that tickles your autism.
It's just the massive amount of bots and cheaters that ruin the game. Sure, you can just turn a blind eye to it all and enjoy your ironman autism, but cheating/botting permeates ironman communities too, even if they aren't upfront about it. Escape from Tarkov has a similar issue, the base game is good but the massive amount of cheaters and the actions taken to combat them have made the game worse.
