As in, really from the game? Yes. One of the most ubiquitous enemy types early game, they can hack off your limbs, instantly kill you with a combo rush if you don't guard, can get a round of actions in even if you take off their head, and in some cases will rape you if you lose to them without cutting off the "stinger" first, which results in a more or less permanent anal bleeding debuff.
>and in some cases will rape you if you lose to them without cutting off the "stinger" first, which results in a more or less permanent anal bleeding debuff.
I didn't know fear and hunger was that sorta game
It's mostly not, the sexual stuff is all played off for horror and discomfort. You have an option to "show love" when at a ritual circle which prompts a cutscene where you frick a party member until you melt together into a single abomination called a Marriage, which incidentally is one of only two methods to get back severed limbs and cure permanent statuses like anal bleeding.

I'll give you a quick rundown then >choose one of four characters as your main at the start >can change skill and gear loadout somewhat depending on intro choices >start with a randomly generated Phobia, which will increase damage taken from an enemy that triggers your phobia >each has their own motivations for exploring the dungeons of Fear and Hunger >combat is limb based, can for example sever a Guard's cleaver arm to prevent him from hacking off your own limbs (can't hold weapons without arms, have to crawl if you lose both legs), generally severing an enemy's legs allows you to hit their head for what is often an instant kill (head otherwise is hard to hit) instead of focusing on torso which has the highest HP >exploring in the dungeon itself slowly increases your hunger (can get ill, losing health and attack, until you die) and saps your sanity (losing all sanity gives you Panphobia, which is a fear of everything) >can expend sanity to cast blood magic derived from the Old Gods >spells range from lighting the enemy on fire to blasting them with agonizing pain to Necromancy to jerking off into a corpse so that you can create a demon baby >no exp/levels, you get stronger by learning spells, getting more gear, and most importantly, obtaining knowledge on how to fight each enemy >fantastic atmosphere, lore, and setting
Here are the parts that start filtering people >combat is heavily trial and error based, requiring a good knowledge of how to handle every enemy's patterns because you can otherwise be inflicted with permanent debuffs such as limb loss or blindness >when you're clueless you die quickly, when you're knowledgeable you can shut out an enemy completely >combined with randomness of loot (important stuff and certain gear is in fixed places), can be somewhat rogue like in nature, expect a lot of death as you learn >game is also needlessly obtuse in conveying info, such that you need to experiment or have a discussion thread here (1/2)

That's a really fascinating character motivation.

Yeah...
It's set to release in early 2021...
Any day now haha...
Free demo for the sequel btw, there's some stark differences from the original but the feel is mostly the same. There's not much plot overlap, just a general setting and world building, so you could try the Termina demo and see what you think. Termina does do a bit of a better job easing you into the mechanics.

one of the ghosts you see always has an eye open symbolizing the sister still being alive and looking at Sunny while she was being hanged
And what a selfless sacrifice to make to cover up your best friends big massive frick up, even AFTER the little bastard Sunny broke a very expensive gift that Basil had helped pay for and what thanks does Basil get? Shunned and forgotten for 4 fricking years, what an ungrateful little bastard Sunny is.
it's heavily implied that Basil is the one that came up with the idea of hanging the sister to cover up for Sunny, so yeah, he kinda did something wrong
And you think people don't die with their eyes open?
>And you think people don't die with their eyes open?
near the end of the game when you find the "secret photos" of the sister falling down the stairs (or around that point) there is a segment where you are looking at the ghost with the opened eye and then it turns into the sister who is looking at sunny and basil as they walk away after hanging her, the eye is clearly looking at sunny in that image
This game is just a sheltered persons perception of trauma and depression. Solid combat for a rpgmaker game but damn the story sucks even with solid characters
>solid combat for a rpgmaker game
Funny that your are trying to bait by misquoting. It's not great or even good but it's not god awful while still being better than a lot of other recent rpgmaker games
It IS godawful by RPG standards. And it's bad by RPGmaker standards
It's one of the few RPG games where I actively started to dread combat due to how slow and awful it felt
You know you could change the combat speed in the settings right? And it's really not worse than other RPG maker combat mechanics. It basically just adds a rock paper scissors game ontop of things. If you made angry the foes and made happy the allies then you killed most things in like 1 or two turns.
You couldn't at launch. Or if you could, I hate myself for not knowing about it
And the difficulty wasn't the problem, it was the tedium. The combination of constant combat encounters, piss-easy difficulty, very few strategies available and overly long animations made for the worst RPG experience in my recent memory. At least other RPGmaker (non-MV) games have the decency of making the combat encounters short

By the time you beat the first non tutorial boss you should be leveled up enough to run from most encounters. The boss battles are decent but it gets annoying juking out the encounters or not being ast enough to run out of annoying battle
Omori is made in a bad engine with bad game design practices but since it has a cute art style and mental health theme it will attract zoomers who don't play games
That's not saying much. MV and MZ fricked rpgmaker games up beyond belief. Omori needed a fricking engine dev to make so much changes ti the engine just to get a playable project

Only 2 of them have cute feet, the rest have fricked up Black person paws with leather for skin.
Remember, ALWAYS use socks when wearing shoes and try to not go barefoot that often.
I haven't played this game, and it doesn't catch my interest based on what I've seen. I guess this means I must hate it by the fury of seven triggered autists.

Yeah, I've been replaying through the hikikomori route, and it's neat to notice the foreshadowing and how some dialog makes more sense when you have completed the game.

i actually hated that Sunny and Basil were the bad guys, i get why they made Sunny silent but i can't seem to be able to tell if Sunny doesn't remember because of massive denial or because he is legit evil
there is a specific photo where Sunny picks up the body and you can see him smiling and you have the choice to leave basil to kill himself, i guess you get to "choose" how Sunny deals with his shit but it still felt like a gut punch
it's also crazy how inconsequential the dream world is until the very end of it
I want to frick Basil and make him moan my name and make him cum all over his belly while he has a psychotic epidode and sees a demon behind me or something

It's ok, the creator said no homo
Where's yanderedev?
it was a good game, not the best ever but pretty good at what it does

sex with mari
sex with aubrey
Knows it's roots, from what I've seen and heard. Not bad
Yeah, that fat Chinese chick is really good at appropriating Japanese art
Why are they barefoot
It's relevant to the story. Don't worry about it.
she has no right to be that smug
thumbnail made me thing she had killer abs.a massive torso and an undersized shirt
Why does the character who wears shoes get so much foot fetish art
this a troon game?
kIND OF.
No it is not a troon game. It's just horny morons like projecting their fetish onto the characters of the game.
Not at all
It's not made by a troon but it's about mental illness and trauma/abuse so troons latch onto it
you're looking for the OFF thread
It depends on who you ask
Nope. People just made up BS about it when it was getting popular and it took off despite being false.
There is 0 troony or homosexual stuff in this game, don't worry.
Thread speaks for itself
all these characters have the same face

Basil was the ultimate homie
Basil might've been a moron but he's a loyal moron.
Likeable visuals and good story and music tend to go a long way. Still, the folks who played .flow must be quite smug at Omori.

It manages to not have that obvious RPGM sheen like Lisa does. If I didn't know any better I'd assume it was made in Game Maker.
Stop it. Omori has great presentation for a rpgmaker game but to say that it doesn't feel like a rpgmaker game is overboard

This game made me feel like shit for 3 days after finishing it
the quirky earthbound-inspired rpg with themes of depression
It's only been a year since Omori's release yet these threads are at the quality of your average Undertale thread. What the frick happened?
There's nothing left to discuss
The story of the game could be told in 5 minutes.
The only reason it gets threads is because the characters are cute.
I'm here for cute Sunny pics and just waiting for that one anon to give us a progress report on modding the Console Exclusives to PC.
Unlike Black Souls or Sequel this game's story doesn't generate interesting discussions.
Imagine fricking Sunny's malnourished pale white underweight musty unclean body
