0. I didn't give a shit about Death Stranding because it was the same cinematic slop people like Cage make, and this seems to be even more of that. Kojima fell off, he doesn't even pretend to care about videogames anymore, and enough time has passed since MGS 2 and 3 to consider him a has-been in my book.
I'm currently playing MGSV
I wanted to play MGS, MGS2 and 3, 4 and Peace Walker before MGSV but frick, you can't fricking play 2 and 3 or 4 on PC for shit, not even mentioning Peace Walker. Is the emulation the only way to experience the original games?
You can play 2 and 3 just fine on PC now that the HD Collection versions of those games have been ported. You need to mod them to play in higher resolutions, but they’re seriously foolproof to set up otherwise. The old port of MGS2 you can get from GOG really wasn’t bad either after some mods, but the new port is better.
I couldn't get MGS 2 on GOG, it was taken down because of copyright issues with the in-game cutscenes using real footage. I also heard the HD collection that's on Steam is a completely dogshit port that runs worse then emulation, hence my question.
Yeah just emulate them honestly. For MGS4 you'll probably need to grab a console though, PS3 emulation needs a decently beefy PC.
