Last I saw, he was insisting that back sheathes are real and practical, and that daggers should do more damage in D&D 3.5 because "they can take you down a in one stab" (note that a dagger's damage die happens to exactly equal a commoner's HP already)

3, sometimes there will be a subtle anime reference but classic Western fantasy is a much bigger inspiration.
