>Missing the 4th entry
Axe wound, frick off
DoD isn't as good as the first 3 games. it went to anime comedy stuff for some reaosn
the remaster was low-effort cashgrab with inferior music
It stated getting comedic with 2
Even Jubei was weirded out and annoyed by this character so his comic style had a purpose.
>DoD isn't as good as the first 3 games
Meme, it's the better game in the series by far, nothing comedic about it, some plot point are kind of brutal.
This is supposed to be a bait post, I can tell. But I unironically agree. Dawn Of Dreams was the best Onimusha game.
I'm not sure myself it's "by far" the best tbh but I definitely had a ton of fun with DoD.
And way less fun with Onimusha 2 (sadly)
DoD's low sales is what killed Onimusha.
Proving that it really was the best one
wasn't it stated that dawn of dreams was supposed to be the closure for the franchise even before it released? Onimusha was originally only going to be a trilogy
Onimusha 3 was honestly my least favorite. 2 was good.
>DoD isn't as good as the first 3 games
Correct, it's better.
Yeah, it’s better for selling less than its predecessor and killing the franchise.
Well, the supposed fanbase completely ignored the remaster
I played it and enjoyed it. The only disappointing thing is that it doesn't have the original score.
>The only disappointing thing is that it doesn't have the original score
That score is forever tainted with the hoax controversy, it would never be brought back even if the actual composer is credited this time around. Mods would always be the only option, or just emulate the original PS2/Xbox/PC versions.
It was my 1st Onimusha game and I stumbled across it on the Switch eShop. Beating myself up for never having heard of this series. A shame Warlords was so short, it was phenomenal
It's pretty shitty you have to rebuy the old game if you want to prove there is a market for a sequel.
>it's pretty shitty you have to rebuy the old game if you want to prove there is a market for a sequel.
Well hey anon, at least you have your poorhomosexual principles because you sure as frick don't have your new games sorry less than $20 was too much for you, frick around find out.
Maybe Capcom should've remastered XBox version instead of PS2 version then
>Warlords instead of Genma
Wow, you wonder why I didn't touch it?
I’m still waiting for the rest of them
They cancelled it after the remaster flopped.
Capcom shelved their plans for the franchise after the remaster flopped. The same thing happened with DarkStalkers.
If they did the anime wouldn't have been announced. I think they are definetly making an Onimusha game on the RE engine in the vein of Sekiro
I bought it, where is 2 and Jean Reno's game? The fact they didn't make the remaster after Genma is also a reason why no one wanted to buy it, it's an objectively worse version and you basically need to own an Xbox, 360, or emulate Genma to play it properly.
Should've remastered Genma and you would see tons of sales.
What is this shit about? Samurai or something?
Another Resident Evil 4 prototype that became its own series - features tank controls (though Onimusha 3 dropped it IIRC), oni and samurai
>Another Resident Evil 4 prototype
It was a Resident Evil spin-off prototype, RE4 was always meant to be a next-gen game, the build that ended up becoming DMC1 and the scrapped psychological how horror build, while Onimusha was meant to be a PS1 game.
Onimusha 1 was built upon Resident Evil 1.5's engine for PS1 but later changed to PS2.
a bug in the combat that made enemies fly and getting stuck in the air while getting damage inspired the combat for DMC1.
Yes.
I have no idea how counter works.
I don't?
wait for your enemy to attack and press attack a split-second before they hit you
>Input read
So what's holding these games back from being re-released? The pre-rendered backgrounds? Celebrity likeness rights issues?
I know they re-released the first game, but people said it was a lazy port.
>So what's holding these games back from being re-released?
They re-released the first game.
>Celebrity likeness rights issues
This.
they could re-release Oni1 as a remaster but Jubei's celebrity is dead and considering they removed the 3rd game from Steam, I guess they couldn't renew the rights for 3's actors
making characters based on real life actors cursed this franchise to hell unless Capcom remake them with original character designs
Inafune is still fricking things up for Capcom a decade after he left.
>making characters based on real life actors cursed this franchise to hell
It's just a fricking garbage practice in general
>p-pweeeaaase howwywood-sempai, n-notice meeeeeeeee! uwu
>o-oh nooooooooo! w-we can't rerelease the game we spent a frickton of resources making because it has some dead white guy's face in it for five seconds!
>b-but at least we got noticed by howwywood people for a couple minutes!
Seriously frick this shit, just let vidya characters be vidya characters
>So what's holding these games back from being re-released?
I guarantee it's legal reasons because they used a real actors face and got him to do the voiceover.
As i've said a thousand times, using real actors in video games has been nothing but a fricking liability for the entire medium.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0437580/
That's why
I try to remind people, but I can only do so much.
Fixed camera during combat is an outdated game design element. Probably people thought "Why play hipster shit when Nioh does it better?" and I can't fault them
Too bad Capcom will never reboot it into their own Samurai Souls-like
>i'm too moronic for PS2 games so the games deserve to die
ok, zoombie
>Shitty gameplay is... le good
>why a PS2 game doesn't have le heckin epic Fortnite gameplay!??!?!
kys, zoombie
Why was the Steam release the original PS2 version instead of the improved Xbox version?
Reminder that there was a new Onimusha in the big Capcom leak, but it seems to have been cancelled because we haven't heard anything else about it in years.
They probably couldn't figure out how to make a modern Onimusha game.
If they went the action route it would be hard to compete with games like Sekiro or Nioh.
If they tried making it more horror focused like the original game, it would be hard to get the tone, combat balancing, and level design right.
Nostalgiahomosexuals will seethe, but Nioh-like, horror-themed Onimusha game sounds fricking sick.
Oh yes because everything nerds to be a dark souls clone.
Tenchu became Dark Souls spin off (Sekiro)
Star Wars went for Dark Souls With Fallen Jedi
Even metroidvanias are going for the DS money
Seriously, frick off
We don't want a game about rolling like morons for 50+ hours
The Capcom leak brought up to the surface titles that were never meant for public exposure yet, they were internal affairs that could be delayed, altered, cancelled without warning; not saying that officially announced games don't get cancelled but internal projects are way more likely to get cancelled in comparison.
Did this puzzle filter anyone else?
>never failed it when I was a kid playing the original PC release
>failed it many times in the PC remaster version
Idk what the hell happened to me
Every time I've played and replayed the game I've had to copy the solution from a video, I suck ass at slide puzzles without any time limit, much less with such a strict one
Managed to do it the first time, but man that anxiety rush
never, I recently replayed the entire series. I'm also waiting for Xbox emulation to get their shit together and play Genma for the first time.
Frick the "remaster"
And frick nuCapcom, I don't believe they can make a proper 5th game.. UNLESS they follow the style of the upcoming Onimusha anime by Takashi Miike which looks dope but sadly ruined by the 3DCG (but the vibe I get from the screenshot and MC are great)
Someone else here mentioned it but yeah
>Dragon Dogma has an anime
>DD2 gets announced a year later
>Onimusha has an anime
>Onimusha 5 announced a year after that airs?
>I'm also waiting for Xbox emulation to get their shit together and play Genma for the first time.
Black person Genma is already playable with Xemu.
Hey moron they gave you the fricking remaster of Onimusha: Warlords, either YOU lot didn't buy your game or no one gives a fricking shit. That was your opportunity.
I bought the game on Steam and 100%d it.
Cope
>cope
it's your dead series anon, not mine.
;_;
It’s just alright.
Don't wait for Capcom, don't let your dreams be dreams.
How could they be the greatest games of all time but they get forgotten you Alzheimer brained boomer?
Nobody forgot about Super Mario Bros, Link to the Past, or Even Burnout Paradise.
They were never the 'greatest games of all time' in the first place.
>DUDE COMPANY RE-RELEASING OLD GAMES MEANS THEY ARE GOOD, EVERYTHING ELSE BAD
zoombies are seriously brain damaged
>Even Burnout Paradise
Most Burnout fans don’t care about Paradise, the series died there and the HD remaster failed for a reason; it’s always between Burnout 3 or Burnout Revenge where the discussion in which is the best lies.
>next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the greatest (and unsurpassed) CGI intro of all time
i fricking lover this intro, it was one of my first PS2 games and i was blown away by it
it was pretty cool
Omnimusha 1 remaster sold like shit so they never bothered to do the rest.
More like they don't have the rights to use the actors for the rest of the games.
Don't bother argue with zoombies, they really just parrot memes they see in other threads and can't use their brain for anything.
I love Jubei!
they can't get away with it nowadays
>an actual smart take over a flat chest rather than having a complex about it
Why can't we have nice things like this anymore?
