I've always pictured it fighting like a tank. It walks and stomps around as seed bombs and razor leaves just pour out of the stuff on it's back, almost independently from it's movements. I wish it learned the status powders, they'd fit great into that image.

The earthquakes still come from the feet and body. Stomps for directed, localized quakes, full bodyslams for just wrecking the place. It takes time for Torterra to rear-back and wind up one of these, it's a turtle and all, but the barrage of grass moves covers it while doing so.
I never really thought of the logistics of it's head and biting moves, though.
It's so weird to me that access to the powder moves was such a fundamental part of Grass type's design in Gen 1, being the balancing factor that made it worth using despite its bad type match ups, and they just throw that out the window for most future Grass types for whatever god forsaken reason. People keep shitting on Game Freak for constantly putting out fat bulky ice types but this is almost as bad.
