>make game >break it every update >economy is so shit that it becomes a monopoly >prices of everything skyrocket >dungeons are shit >there was nothing to do
there's a reason this game died.
and yet they keep adding pvp to mmos. hell, there's even an mmo focused solely around pvp.
>it's completely dead
Because it's shit. Ugly game. Ugly characters, female looks like male. Lame pve. Lame crafting. Lame balance. Lame skill lines. Lame leveling. Lame housing. Glitches, bugs, exploits, abuses, something new every single day. Anything above lame costs real money, even though it's a b2p game, free shit is more rare, than in f2p game.
>Remove PvP
It was the single good thing about New World. And even then, they managed to frick up so much, that simple 50v50 sieges crashed the server. Majority of playerbase are reddit cucks, who absolutely terrified of opposing someone even in video game, fricking pussies, just look at rarity of this achievement.
while there's a lot of mmo Black folk that hate pvp I think the lack of players having that achievement is moreso to do with its 10k player kills and the lack of players
>is moreso to do with its 10k player kills and the lack of players
Do you think I got this achievement in one day? Frick no, I played on multiple servers through transfer. I've seen that only tiny amount of players played bgs and sieges. You literally could remember most nicknames of those who participated in pvp in first week on the server.
Why would I assume it just took one day? The overwhelming majority of people that buy a game arent going to stick with it for even a fraction of 1k hours especially new world.
>8k people playing ata time is dead
How many people do you need? You can't even render or interact with a fraction of this many people. You just want slightly altered npcs to see while you do your daily fetch quests.
Fricking zoomer.
Remember that PvP is the ONLY reason to play an MMORPG. That's what made WoW so popular, everything you heard about WoW when it was big was all the PvP stories ALL the oldschool WoW e-celebs were PvPers.
>not be a fullloot pvp.
fulloot PvP does not work as that's is beyond moronic.
Warhammer Online nailed gear progression with PvP so perfectly that there's no need for PvE.
The problem with WHO is that it lacks variety. You play bgs, then you play bgs some more, then you search for zerg, then you beg for city. Repeat every day.
Pve mmos got more things to do, than killing bosses. Sure, content is still limited, but it takes more time to stay fresh. Plus new content is actually new, while pvp will get new bgs, which doesn't feel like new content at all, even if it's something like those moronic CTF bgs from WHO. Also, pve game doesn't have a bunch of homosexuals who log out to other faction as soon as they couldn't push enemy fortress first time.

>Pve mmos got more things to do, than killing bosses
Yeah and so do PvP MMO's, if anything PvP MMO's have an actual economy in them as well as your gear won't be obsolete every time a new raid is released nullifying all your grinding before that.
And actually no, most PvE games don't have any more end-game content than doing the same 3 fights for sometimes up to a year.
And if anything PvP content will always be fresh as there's countless of variation to it, a new area or BG will stay fresh for way more longer than 3 more fights you do for 6-12 months without anything else.

Yeah the one extra pain pvp as focus adds having to do balance patches around that and then it will become messy and tim consoming to keep up for devs.
and nobody gave a shit about playing on pvp realms even if they enjoyed the stories, just like everyone liked hearing eve stories but nobody wanted to play that trashpile outside of its insular community
actual combat is like the least important part of an mmo. the shit that matters is progression mechanics, exploration, social mechanics, and gameplay loop. i'm not saying good combat shouldn't be a goal, why wouldn't it be, but it's not one of the main ones. it's why wow did so good despite the combat being dogshit. other genres have more of a focus on that.
None of that matters. It became increasingly clear that what actually matters for an mmo(or any live service) is that you had to have yours up and running 10-15 years ago to amass a horde of fanboys who connect their rosey teenage years spend in your shitty game and now eternally associate your brand with that unbeatable feeling of nostalgia.
I disagree. I liked a lot of things about ESO but the absolutely horrible combat eventually made me drop it because I just couldn't suffer through it anymore.
You forgot >game feels like shit to play >the world feels like it has no progression
Even modern wow is shit, only the autists working at blizzard in the early 2000's could make a true mmo worth playing
>best combat in any MMO
Not even close >best sound effects
lol lmao even >best graphics
Realism slop that doesn't have anything resembling artstyle on top of pozzed character creation >pretty good soundtrack tbh
Shitty hollywood ambient tracks that has no personality >best gathering mechanics
Vanguard, EQ2 and XIV has better crafting and gathering across the board
Average. 3 years later and still no real raids. I do give them credit that it can actually be uniquely challenging sometimes. New world combat relies more on timing your blocks/dodges and a fair deal of reaction base mechanics. Difficulty in other MMOs I've played boil down to DPS checks and either memorizing mechanics or simply bypassing them with addons
I feel like mmos got hit by that current AAA budget wall some years before. It just takes way too much money and time to create new COONTENT that all the nolifers will finish in 5 hours on launch day and everyone normal after 3 days and then it's back to 6-12 months wait for next expansion drop.
Just hire proper dms that can do live events and shit to entertain playerbase. Developers calcified in moronic raid paradigm without thinking of anything out of the box.
Companies are so slow and stubborn when it comes to this type of stuff. Took Sega 2 years to finally let content creators officially work with them on dance parties, DJing and fashion shows they have been doing on their own for the community all this time.
MMO were supposed to be placed you lived the fantasy of being in an adventure where everything as possible. That was the end goal.
It was corrupted beyond recognition.
i had fun for about 3 weeks when it launched
then the client side verification exploits went mainstream and the game was unplayable for weeks
i quit never felt a need to go back cause my friends quit too
why are all the most successful mmorpgs ones with sexy half naked women in them bros? why is the one that has the most women the most perverted and full of erp? anyone know?
>how do we fix the mmo genre?
You can't. Like it or not, players act like a non-renewable resource. Either limit the amount of mmo games on the market so people will stay on the old games, or find another model.
Online games require you to make an avatar that represents you in the game. Women don't want an ugly avatar to represent them, women are far more aware of this shit and it bothers them.
mmos were never good at being "actual games" because of all the moronic jank and chinkslavery game design. no wonder people are playing them for the only thing they're good at: being an avatar chatroom
>claims he likes pvp >cries about full loot
waaaah I can't stomp noobs by having end game gear waaah
god the best time in my life playing mmos was stomping shitters in a mud and ransoming their text
i had fun with it on release for a couple hundred hours, but once you reach lvl cap it falls off hard.
the pvp sucks - too strong of a meta, but you have to keep it on for increased resource gather
the characters/creation is ugly
not gonna play it again, most of these 'players' are probably bots
Remove PvP
mmo pvp has been dead for over a decade and yet it still makes you shit and piss yourself
If I wanted PvP I'd play Fortnite, not something for my adventure games
yes yes I know you must consume new mmo then move onto the next and wonder why they suck
The good ones always close down, like Bless Unleashed, best MMO I've played
>make game
>break it every update
>economy is so shit that it becomes a monopoly
>prices of everything skyrocket
>dungeons are shit
>there was nothing to do
there's a reason this game died.

I can go dig up my grandmother and prop her on the couch but that doesnt bring her back to life

No. It's just like in other games, but you need 100x more resources.

>10k
how many hours did that take?
Almost 1k. Could be way faster, but I actually leveled almost all professions, spent time camping rare ore and played challenge dungeons.
guess 10 an hour is pretty good if you were doing other stuff.
Why would I assume it just took one day? The overwhelming majority of people that buy a game arent going to stick with it for even a fraction of 1k hours especially new world.
fellowpvpbro were you in eden at its peak? up there with my favourite time spent in any mmo
My peak was when we spawnkilled turk guild on siege, while writing REMOVE KEBAB in chat.
christ the world pvp was so good. there was ALWAYS something stupid to get caught up in
they already removed the pvp, that is why it is dead
remove bezos
moronic boomers who frick goblinas aren't capable of making MMOs
there is no passion, he sees only dollars.
By taking the problem backward, add game element to social networks instead of adding social elements to games. Twitter PvP would be kino.
You don’t. let it die out slowly like the oldgays that are still playing, slowly draining out their money and wallets

lole
horrible bait 2/10 apply yourself
generous.
somehow vanilla wow is still the mmo with the best combat
moron
I know you are
make them more simple
Shouldn’t have been complete ass when it launched, no reason a Trillin dollar company should have released such a buggy game
actual combat is like the least important part of an mmo. the shit that matters is progression mechanics, exploration, social mechanics, and gameplay loop. i'm not saying good combat shouldn't be a goal, why wouldn't it be, but it's not one of the main ones. it's why wow did so good despite the combat being dogshit. other genres have more of a focus on that.

keyboard turning should be standard

I disagree. I liked a lot of things about ESO but the absolutely horrible combat eventually made me drop it because I just couldn't suffer through it anymore.
pretty sure it's a boomer opinion. the combat in everquest was terrible, but it was just a screensaver for a chatroom
>new world
>dead barely any months later
Could've told you that, it was predictable and inevitable
t. former amazonian
>predictable and inevitable
could have told you that when it was announced

Trust me the inside view was funnier
>best combat in any MMO

but because npcs think amazon = bad it's automatically panned, even though pretty much every other mmo publisher is way worse

wait for
>Archeage 2
>Chrono Odyssey
>Ashes of Creation

>AA2
dead on arrival single-playerr mmo
>AoC

LOL LMAO HAHA
I keep hearing about this trash so I decided to watch some of the more recent dev videos and it looks ok. Not sure why people are hyping it so much
When it first was showed years ago it looked ok but the hype has died out
we don't. MMO's are a waste of time and money. Only morons play them.
What video game isn't a waste of time and money?
Ones that don't demand hundreds of hours from you.
So how is New World PvE?
Average. 3 years later and still no real raids. I do give them credit that it can actually be uniquely challenging sometimes. 3 years? i must have blacked out for 2, holy shit.
bezos really is a dumb motherfricker who got grifted hard by his lead designer

Should have made it free and just sell skins mounts etc. this is the way to go with new online games. every pay to own releases are literally dead.
MMO were supposed to be placed you lived the fantasy of being in an adventure where everything as possible. That was the end goal.

Bro, I play PSO2 NGS. If you wanna see a dead game. 1.2k players right now.
console release might save it
mmorpg players like cheese cake, this game is a sausage fest of model train collectors. women won't go near this ugly shit with a 10 foot pole
why are all the most successful mmorpgs ones with sexy half naked women in them bros? why is the one that has the most women the most perverted and full of erp? anyone know?

This game would've been more successful in its original idea if they just worked out the flaws like Albion did, now its dead.
>how do we fix the mmo genre?
You can't. Like it or not, players act like a non-renewable resource. Either limit the amount of mmo games on the market so people will stay on the old games, or find another model.

How are the developers of this game moronic?
>don't want women to play the game
fair enough
women almost always play pretty female characters, if you see some stupid character like an orc or tauren it's a guy or lesbian with a male brain.
New World's problem was the shallow combat, lack of defined class rolls, limit to 3 skills and the fact the game is entirely soloable.
ff14 is worse at those things and it 100 times bigger, it's also full of perverts
That's because those people are playing the game as a replacement for Second Life and not an actual game.
True, but that's why players numbers are so high. Wow has a lot of people who are the same, look how packed out goldshire is.
mmos were never good at being "actual games" because of all the moronic jank and chinkslavery game design. no wonder people are playing them for the only thing they're good at: being an avatar chatroom
