Yeah, but is it good? There is a difference between contrarians/hipsters and something genuinely good failing to get traction, and in the case of a one off late 90s arcade game that never even got a home port this could be very likely
red earth is an incredible game
esp on an actual crt
they will rerelease it
mark my words bb
It's alright. The password system and RPG mechanics are interesting but fighting against CPU bosses feels like dog water, even though it's meant to be single player focused.
it is an arcadegame son
its meant to munch your quarters &
tug at your heart "just one more checkpoint mom"
>it is an arcadegame son >its meant to munch your quarters & >tug at your heart "just one more checkpoint mom"
Yes I understand this. I get this feeling from other arcade games like Ikaruga and Metal Slug, but not Red Earth. I have no desire to put in more credits to upgrade my character or whatever. It just feels meh.
It's a cool boss rush and a great showcase of CPS3's insane 2D capabilities but as a fighting game it's almost an afterthought to play it PvP because of the RPG leveling. Leo is one of Capcom's most underrated protagonists too and I'm glad I can recreate him in DD2.
its a dropped ball
there's only 4 playable characters
pretty much all you do is try to finish each boss with a certain move to se them cut in half
the bosses not being playable in any form brings it down imo
Capcom should merge Red Earth's universe with the Darkstalkers universe and make a new game with all the characters interacting with one another in the story.
No it's actually not very good, and I feel like it's nothing but a tech demo for CPS3. There's not much to do and playable characters are limited. The only fantasy fighting game that's legit is Dark Stalkers because Cyberbots is even too wanky just to show off the engine.

Sure, but mostly people who reverse-engineer their identity based on the obscurity of their "favorite" media.

It's only obscure for clueless people and z00m3r5.
Verification not required.
>You live here
>It's not obscure for you

No, it's dead on fightcade.

Chaos Breaker/Dark Awake is pretty crazy in a fun way.

it's an interesting single player fighter. More games should borrow some elements to enhance the single player experience but most just care about pvp
>calling fighters pvp
Are you not aware that you can play fighting games alone
Cool bg
Weird case where the singleplayer experience is more worthwhile.
