one of the worst games ever made. inconsistent and poorly made art style clearly imported from a computer, yoshi's new island tier music, babby difficulty, tedious boring repetitive level design that's usually just hills with the same enemies copy pasted on them (you have the play through these fricking easy slow levels again and again to get to the puzzle if you fail a puzzle), somehow fricking up the camera in a 2d game because it lags behind you, horrible molasses controls, the list goes on

The music's great though and is the same as what you get in any other Kirby game. I do feel like the game as a whole is a little underwhelming though. It was at a time where they were starting to experiment with deliberate art styles and Yoshi's Island does the same thing except better. The controls aren't great, but the animal friends are supposed to make up for that however some of them with certain abilities are really not that great or gimped too much like Kine's electric ability from Dreamland 2.
I really like DL3. It's not the best one but its visuals and music are really nice like posted. I will be forever annoyed by the minigame thing though. Also 64 is a good iteration on the idea. Kinda like a "take 2" on the ideas in it. Also I love the animal buddies 🙂

Anon, that texture is intentional and is done to keep the crayon/colored pencil textured look. It makes more sense on a CRT where it gets blurred. That's not image compression at all, moron.

Why would anybody hate this otherwise, it your typical kirby game, charming, mildly fun but nothing special.
It's the most soulful Kirby game but unfortunately it feels like shit to play. There was no reason to make it so slow and the double tap to run so clunky. The level design is also extremely monotonous, just endless corridors with the same enemies placed at regular intervals forever.
