I never took people who said hunger ruined Minecraft seriously.

    PHANTOMS, however...

both are trash but phantoms are 10x worse

      This.
Hunger was toned down significantly a few years ago, it's now a nothingburger that you barely have to be aware of by this point. Phantoms, though, are a fricking pain and should never have been implemented.

haven't played minecraft is over a decade but I watched that japanese blind playthrough and goddamn I could just feel his suffering when the patch that introduced phantoms released

you're on Ganker, that's too complicated for them

You don't even need a mod to remove it, you could always give yourself a saturation effect with near-infinite duration, or disable hunger entirely with the use of a datapack.

Universal anti air standing weak punch fricked up fighting game balance hard. Every butthole just tosses it in their new game to keep things on a mild level playing field.

And they're balanced because of it.

        Yup.
And most of the “high skill” alternate weapons disable random crits as a downside. You trade in a random bonus for a consistent one IF you think you’re good enough to trigger it reliably.

    That's simple!
    (You) not playing on Gankercraft!
Who designed (You) not to be there? What were they thinking?

You should play on Gankercraft, where we have hunger, and no phantoms. Now, that's good design!

I've hosted multiple servers before, one of which had 50 concurrent players regularly and people actually played the game instead of jannies giving handouts that mitigate the point in playing.

Fat frick notch leaving the game in Jeb!'s hands did more damage than the hunger system.
The game has stagnated for over a decade now and the little stuff they add always comes with a list of asterisks.

That's a good system because you get to pay less and have easy access to fast travel.

I feel like there wouldn't be as many complaints about that mechanic if evil biomes couldn't generate in or next to jungles.

Cross realm functionality, Blood Elves, and Blizzard's hubris form the holy trinity of "shit that doomed world of warcraft before anyone even knew it"

Villagers/villages ruined minecraft. They want you to have this weird nomad playstyle where you never can truly comfortably settle down and make a corner of the world your own. It just not comfy to build anymore because you have to go out to fricking buff Egypt for some random ass item every now and again. Even modded seems to love forcing exploration these days it's fricking irritating.

Why not just have a comfy base to come back to after your adventures anon?

        Anonymous

What's the point of it being a base if I'm constantly portal hopping/ waypoint jumping/ /warping to and from at that point its nothing more than a hubworld In an early 3d platformer.

    sanity meters

OH I LOOKED AT THE SPOOKY THING!
I'M LITERALLY GOING INSANE!!! SAVE ME Black personMAN!!

I'm not against the notion of videogame insanity.
However: the idea of a tangible sanity meter misses the point of insanity completely. It should be something that happens in the background so you have no good way of knowing if the shit you're seeing is part of a normal playthrough or not.
