One thing I'll never buy off ebay or Amazon inflated PS2 priced games.
Guarantee youtubers do this shit on purpose talking about "hidden gems"
Oh guess what the games now 40.00
60.00 80.00 etc. frick that crap
Metal Jesus can go to hell for that

what you should buy is appropriately priced PS2 games, pick up a copy of Sub Rebellion, Sky Odyssey and Bombastic (the little known SEQUEL to devil dice!) and enjoy some PS2 god games for a fair price.
Grab what you can get at a sane cost and pirate the rest. Do everything you can to frick over scalpers and scum resellers.
>Metal Jesus can go to hell for that
The fact that that c**t outright has admitted to getting friends and those close to him to buy up stock in games he plans to review is proof of his rampant israelitery.
Great game choices.
that's insider trading
Nothing happened to senators w/ stock or musk w/ doge when they did it
Rejoice. Kelsey one of MJR cronies store has been broken into twice over the past few months.
That has the symptoms of insurance fraud. They pump up the value of items, and suddenly "lose" the high value items that they claim to masked looters of color. They must be very polite to keep all the things neatly on the shelves and only go for those high value items hidden from that picture.
>Seattle
Looks like a shopping mall in the Far East.
>Seattle
Well man they dindu nuffin just takin' what they needed to survive from a retro game store better keep voting Democrat anyway BWAHAHAHAHA
I don't think Metal Jesus ever covered Steambot Chronicles. Games that CAN be solely attributed to his gay little scam videos are Blood Will Tell and Samurai Western. I was trying to buy Samurai Western at the time and then suddenly the price triples literally overnight after his video.
Also Magic Pengel, rare and still only $30, Flipnic Pinball, Radiata Stories, Ring of Red (price rising fast on this one), Everblue, Shinobido (PAL) and Kessen
if you don't already have most or all of the gen 6 and previous games you might ever want, your better off just just MCFB/OBS
Really makes you wonder about all the people on here who "organically" hate emulation and try to meme you into running games on the original hardware only (at the low price of 240 bucks a game lol).
i just prefer the original hardware, buy your games if you want idc but emulation just doesn't do it for a lot of people
to be fair though it is dead simple and affordable to run games off of original hardware without paying for the actual games through CFW
and of course emulation is getting better all the time
at the end of the day though, collecting and retro gaming are two separate hobbies that just run parallel to each other. Metal Jesus for example is way more of a collector than an actual retro gamer, he very clearly barely plays through the games he acquires. But conversely people need to embrace the philosophy that you absolutely don't need to hold onto the old disks and carts to consider yourself still a fan of those games.
Collectors are vile, though. So it is normal to be repulsed by them.
I get that a flash cart really gets rid of the need for it, but what if you're like me and like collecting physical retro games but do actually play them? Does that make me both a retro gamer and a collector?
>Really makes you wonder about all the people on here who "organically" hate emulation and try to meme you into running games on the original hardware only (at the low price of 240 bucks a game lol).
I have no real issue with emulation and occasionally do it myself, but homosexuals who mouth off about it 24/7 are what I hate. c**ts are worse than vegans or gays, inserting their gaming preference into every possible discussion even if it has nothing to do with emulation.
yeah agreed
For most systems there's really no wrong way to enjoy the games, but at the same time original hardware will remain relatively unimpeachable. even on systems where the emulation is technically perfect. but does that mean I'm gonna shit on the people who'd rather emulate? course not
>and try to meme you into
if you take any of this website seriously, let alone decide stuff based on it, you deserve being called a moron
What's wrong with paying a high price for an authentic product? Is your entire household filled with cheap Chinese knock off products?
Because the market is heavily manipulated by youtubers in order to make themselves and their friends money. You'd have to be an idiot to get into retro video game collecting in the present.
>collecting
I am talking about purchasing one game not an entire library.
The pirate it. It's easy. Get over it and work around it. Stop being a woman and caring about shelf decorations.
>just pirate it
Sure thing, once it becomes possible.
When will hardwaregays stop clutching onto WarioWare Twisted? Dead simple game easily emulated on phones with little compromise
>easily emulated on phones
Enjoy your touch screen controls. Also I notice you completely ignored my VMU. How are you going to emulate that? Oh that's right, you can't.
>The game that controls almost entirely through the gyroscope on a system with only 4 action buttons is totally ruined by touch controls!
Ok. Gba Runner 2 on 3DS can do the gyroscope, so can MGBA with a DS4 or Switch Pro controller. You are a homosexual grasping at straws and the VMU is worthless gimick shit
>VMU SUCKS ANYWAY
Cope.
>more power draw through the controller port
good job anon
>having to pause to view health and ammo
Pleb.
>having to replace a fuse on a board because it draws too much power
Dreamcast disc drives die as well anon. Do you suggest to never use discs as well?
for the cost of a caution seaman you can buy a disc to hdd adapter
you dont even need to use the menu to see your health since theres a different walking animation for each status and its pretty easy to keep track of how many ammo theres left in your gun.
you just sound like a brainlet that needs a visual indication for everything.
>my licensed shelf candy is magically more valid than the same data loaded off a hard drive that works 100% the same on a console
Oh-kay.
>cope
kek
>My ass just bleeds
That's why it's called butthurt
Because now everything has gone crazy. When Mario Kart Double Dash, of which there are millions, costs $80 you've effectively been priced out of the hobby. Ten or fifteen years ago you had big money games but it was the oddball like Panzer Dragoon Saga and even then they tended to cap at around $400-$500 at most. Now several Sega CD and Saturn games are over a grand. And it's not like it happened organically over time. There was a distinct spike a couple years ago that's been pumped up by the influx of outside speculators, egged on by WATA and Heritage Auctions.
>when double dash is $80
Who the hell would buy this garbage in the first place? I still see no difference from this to Warhammer plastic figures which sell for outrageous prices as well.
the entire problem comes down to you being a homosexual who wants to hoard plastic instead of playing games. if your "hobby" was actually video games, you'd emulate them all for free but instead of you chase after turd-covered boxes to fill a void in your life
>emulate them all
Who the frick wants to play them all? There's 50 versions of SF2 and KOF. Do you feel superior because you have access to every version despite never playing them?
what kind of moronic logic is this? i can play anything i want, for free, without hoarding. that's it. anything you say in response to this is pure cope and mental illness.
>I can play bastardised emulation
Enjoy.
We really need a new board for seething bandwagoners Shoult it be /vrs/ or /vrz/?
>you either emulate or pay $200 for the game, no in-between
Why are you homosexuals like this? It's like modded consoles don't exist according to this board. I don't want shitty emulation bugs so i just burn a fricking dvd and play it on the console.
This, I play PS2 games on original hardware but I've never paid for one. PS2 is like the second easiest console to softmod next to the Wii, really simple stuff and load times are even better than off disc + you dont have to worry about your laser burning out so its way better that way if you don't care about collecting which I think most people don't.
Play games on original hardware with pirated copies. Best of both worlds. When you see a game you like for a reasonable price, buy it if you want. Thats what I do.
If 40 is the price, it's less then I paid at release at least. That said, you're complaining that some YouTuber brought attention to this game which is driving up demand. You probably didn't care about the game before though, else you'd have bought a copy in the nearly 20 years since it came out.
So, you're basically a spoiled c**t. Get fricked.
This, frick all you moron poorhomosexuals who do NOTHING but seethe endlessly at basic market economics. Time goes on, stock decreases, price rises---
>NOOOOOO MY SHITTY OLD GAMES HAVE TO STAY $9.99 BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE REALLY WORTH
Then cry less, morons; no loss.
>Basic market economics
You know WATA is being sued right this very minute for market manipulation right? This is artificial.
All the actually good games on the PS2 are still inexpensive. Do you really want to take a chance and find out if Irem's only RPG is a good one? No, you don't. Suikoden V is the only good game over $100.
>Suikoden V is the only good game over $100.
Shadow Hearts, Silent Hill, Kuon, Haunting Ground, Xenosaga 3, Samurai Western, God Hand, Skygunner, Dual Hearts, Devil Summoner..the list goes on..
For Shadow Hearts, a good option is to get the PAL version. All of them got good PAL conversions. They run fullscreen, are multilingual and I think Covenant has a 60 Hz mode. Also, Covenant at least was dirt cheap here last time I looked, you could get it for less than 20€. Only FTNW has a garbage PAL version, but no one cares about that anyway.
Shadow Hearts is cool but Covenant and From the New World are better (those aren't cheap either but they're under $100)
Silent Hill you can get the better Xbox version for much cheaper
Kuon and Haunting Ground, I'll take your word for it, survival horror games aren't really my thing
Xenosaga 3, most people will never play it because they have to fight through the first two games beforehand.
Never really understood why people are so crazy for God Hand
Skygunner does look cool, forgot that one
Dual Hearts looks kinda interesting but the best Fatlus and platformers are again much cheaper and you shouldn't start pining for this game until you get to page two of your platformers checklist. That's kind of the theme for most of these games, you can get the top 100 best PS2 games without ever spending that kind of money and only then will you look at these. God Hand aside which is probably the biggest name
Imagine being so poor that you have to blame israelitetoobers for your problems. I hate israelitetoobers but at a certain point you also have to blame yourself. If you cared so much about a 20 year old game, why didn't you buy it already?
Not everyone is a frivolous moron
BECAUSE I HEARD ABOUT IT FROM YOUTOOBERS AND NOW ITS TOO EXPENSIVE
You can emulate:
-every game from generations 2 through 6 perfectly
-on a 15khz CRT
-with an RGB/Component signal that's twice as sharp as what consoles could output
-or with accurate composite/NTSC shaders if you like
-with a controller of your choice that's better than the original shitty ones
-FOR FREE RIGHT NOW.
>perfectly
Why do you feel the need to lie?
Every console emulator besides Dolphin is pretty trash.
>any measurable issues of any kind in NES-PS1 emulation
Such fricking as? Dolphin isn't even the one to herald as the be all end all, it bedshits pretty badly in the Rogue Squadron games.
>the PCSX2 bad meme
Literally what can't you run in software the very least?
I haven't had problems with PCSX2 in a long time
I've never had issues with ps1 emulation that weren't fixed by just trying the other emulator
No you can't. There's at least one N64 game you can't emulate at all, PS2 games that require accessories which can't be emulated at all, Xbox games that aren't compatible with any current emulator.
There will always be exceptions for every emulator. Sure they'll all play the most popular games at least acceptably. But to claim perfection is misleading.
>Knife's Edge
My ass just bleeds from my inability to play a controller-only lightgun game.
>PS2
Scant few games/accessories are unemulated, and so what? Pirating them on hardware is trivial.
>Xbox
Valid point, but I think you knew that he wasn't including this platform.
PCkeks would be more likeable if they were just honest about the fact that emulation isn't a 1:1 perfect equal to real hardware
>not pirating everything you could as soon as you got high speed internet access
shig muhfuggin dig. Why ever buy any of this shit? PS2 has been trivial to pirate on for ages. You're a fricking rube for ever considering buying this crap in the current day.
>own nothing memetards
The only thing you own is the husk. Everyone infinitely owns every game now so long as piracy is an option and one can make their own backups.
maybe if you homosexuals didn't let yourselves get memed into every latest price gouging craze and create a situation where one dude can clean out all the regional used game stores every day and flip them you all wouldn't have to pay $120 for a greatest hits copy of a mass produced game you want.
HEY GUYS METAL israeliteSUS HERE
>Guarantee youtubers do this shit on purpose talking about "hidden gems"
Schizo
Something is happening. Without getting anything new in years, I have lost over $5000 in the last few weeks. People must not be buying. Quick, make some video essays for a soft landing.
i-is the bubble popping!?
I-I hope so.
As someone who bought 90% of everything they ever wanted when games were still affordable I win either way; prices either stay high and I have the option of cashing out or they drop and I can get the few games I still want without selling a kidney
It's the seasonal effect. People sell more and play games less in summer.
Shouldn't it be the other way around, as it is summer, thus more time to play games? A great time to go shopping with garage/boot sales?
There are 5700 PS4 games? That's insane.
They count all the different preorder versions and limited run titles separately. It is probably inflated with digital titles too.
Mine has only gone down 1%. Your collection must be full of meme Nintendo crap that was never actually rare.
Barely over a day, and just instantly lost $80. The prices are evenly dropping on the overall, but people just aren't buying anymore. Prices are being forced down now.
wow you lost 80 from your 1500 games collection while having the latest console on there that constantly drop in price before rising i guess all games will be worthless soon...
based moron.
>down 0.1% in a day
Holy fricking bear market!
Just remember that if you find these collectors and their stores in minecraft that you can kite a police raid mob onto their position thanks to the swat skill.
I remember when I saw haunting ground at a local game store for $80 about 8 years ago. I laughed and told the owner he's delusional. He laughed too, but that fricking thing sat until the store closed a year later.
Now those frickers got for over $200 and idiots actually buy them.
Sadly, normies ruin everything they touch, and justify it because owning expensive things makes the fricking morons feel accomplished.
For someone like me, playing games is the fun part.
For normies "collecting" is the whole point. They waste hundreds and thousands on collections that are too large to ever be enjoyed (as in PLAYED AND COMPLETED) by a single person and act like it's some kind of flex when they grab some ok-ish game no one gave a frick about 20 years ago because it cost them a mint.
I'm not salty, because I emulate. Frick it. I have everything I want, i enjoy myself and its enough for me. I just think its pathetic.
If you're emulating it seems like it isn't a big of an issue. In general, these physical copies issues can die and the ones that feed from this can kill themselves. But it would be a way way worse problem if this was keeping people from playing games (like is happening with the Board Games scalpers, where people has to play 500 dollars for a new game and have no way to play it otherwise).
I'm surprised consoles cost as little as they do in 2022, you'd think these people would have inflated their prices to the stratosphere nowadays. Too bad for them, because I can buy consoles and use them to play their whole libraries for free with odes and everdrives.
Haunting Ground was £12 Brand New on Amazon for years until the pandemic came. Almost overnight the entire stock had been bought up by some smart arse reseller.
Well yes, the PAL version was very cheap for a long time. I bought Haunting Ground new and sealed for 15€ five or six years ago. Nobody cared about it. And now the price is almost as high as for the NTSC version.
is there a single retro game that doesnt run in emulators nor runs in flashcards/modchips? and by that I mean mainstream consoles, not shit like the mega ld
There are cheat codes to simulate the sunlight.
>just cheat
Sorry but I prefer to play games the way they were intended to be played. I'm not going to be save stating and using rewind like you would want me to.
How is applying a cheat code any different from standing in a sunny spot with your console like a moron?
Looking like a moron is a feature. You wouldn't get it
mGBA has a built in solar sensor feature.
Don't bother replying if its going to be pissy though.
I went through a PS2 buying phase around 2012-15 where I bought all kinds of games. Kuon, Forbidden Siren 1 & 2, Haunting Grounds, King's Field 4, I own the lot.
>6th gen babies pay a shitload of money for games I bought for like 5 bucks on garage sales 15 years ago
as it should be
As far as PS2 goes, just get an HDD and OPL. That's the best way to do it. If you absolutely need to buy physical, just go to a flea market or something and dig around for cheap games but don't pay the exorbitant prices being demanded by scalpers.
>AND YOU STARE AT MEEEE
>IN YOUR JESUS CHRIST POSE!!
