Japs should stop being scared of americans and do whatever they want. ESG will kill them and even morons at marvelous know removing fanservice lower profit but they do it anyway.

Despite moving away from fanservice to please Americans it still sold most copies in Japan and sold almost nothing in America.
With fanservice games they would actually have higher results in America (and Japan) but they see botted Twitter posts saying fanservice bad and thus think it's the popular decision to not do it.
>sold the most on steam >in JAPAN
I am so so glad to see japan embracing PC gaming after all these years
It didn't. PS5 physical and PS5 digital are listed separately and sum up to 5,795. Steam is 4,487.
That being said, it's interesing that digital rate for this game on PS5 is 40%. So much for 9999% digital Snoy cope
Wow I actually enjoyed this game, was fun jank-kino. Got the platinum trophy too. It was obvious the production value was low and was never going to be a huge seller but those numbers are just lol
In case anyone didn't notice it, recently Bandai Namco (owners of D3Publisher) updated the D3 logo to include Bandai. This is Bandai doing closer "control" on D3 properties, and Bandai is barring them from doing fanservice games anymore.
>kill Oneechanbara to please twitterBlack folk >Marvelous kills Senran Kagura to please twitterBlack folk >Both of them start releasing disastrous flop after flop like Loop 8 and this game
When will they fricking learn that there was ever only one reason we bought their shitty games?
Loop8 was mostly another studio, Marvelous was just in a support role. The real problem with the game is there was just nowhere near enough content for what the game wanted to do, GPM had way more going on 20 years ago and the time loop shit added nothing to the game but tedium. You had to beat the game twice just to start unlocking epilogues, which were zero effort single images with a bit of dialogue for whatever character you had the highest relationship with, and they still only did it for half the cast, and most of them are just you getting cucked. And this was after they delayed the game for half a year.
>When will they fricking learn
never, you see it time and time again game devs will gladly get rid of the people who buy their shit for the larger group of people who might (but actually never will) buy their shit
>but they see botted Twitter posts saying fanservice bad and thus think it's the popular decision to not do it.
Goddamn it, I keep seeing this cope from that moron iuntue and now I'm seeing it spread here. You think homosexuals on twitter are gonna pay for botted tweets every single fricking day? If this was the case, then weebs who love fanservice can also bot their tweets, but I see nothing of the sort. This is all one big cope when even these useless right-wingers are now saying that "anime girls are for pedos", every side of the culture wars hate cute anime girls. >"w-we have honor! We can't do it like them!"
Frick off. The algorithm favors these prudes, moron. It frustrates me some of you people see every viral tweet as botting, it's the same as saying "ignore it and they'll go away" in the old days.
Less than half the US population has a twitter account, and 90% of tweets come from 5% of users. Furthermore, when Musk took over, he had the accounts on the site audited and found a significant percentage of users were bots or probable bots.
>when Musk took over, he had the accounts on the site audited and found a significant percentage of users were bots or probable bots.
That was before he bought actually hence why he backed down at a time but was literally forced to buy by the court.
But I still agree with him, both sides of the political spectrum in the west hate anime and anime lewd and this fact will not change even if you were to ban every bot.
It's funny how well it sold on the Xbox despite japanese games having no presence on the platform. Developers should release more games on Xbox and make Switch a priority platform.
>Japs should stop being scared of americans and do whatever they want.
The platforms force them to censor games. You think Sony forcing devs to make changes is bad? When you submit a game to Nintendo for review if it fails you don't even get a chance to change the shit they find "problematic", they straight up just refuse to let you sell the game in the region it failed the review.
Devs will spend money getting a game translated to English and then NOA and NOE will shit on them and ban it from US/Europe and that's how you get the ass moronic situation of Asia-only English releases.
Snoy is literally doing the same shit, why do you think they got that nickname in the first place.
Same for Steam.
The entire industry is in a race to the bottom and you can thanks the west for that.
Sony lets devs censor the content and then release the game. Steam and Nintendo just say frick you and refuse to let you release the game forever, no redoes. Because there's no redoes devs have to censor things themselves in advance.
With Steam I'm working on hearsay but Nintendo is first hand experience, my company (asia) just got fricked over by Nintendo hard and we're livid because we spent a ton on making the English release and already had promotion materials for the west lined up.
You are a butthurt snoygger LARPing as some dev because you can't stomach that for once Nintendo isn't going full moron like Snoy is. Nintendo does not tell third parties to censor their games to be available on the Switch, it just needs to be rated. Contrary to Snoy. Deal with it.
Anon, the Omega Labyrinth Z showed us that you need to make a contract with the platform holder before wanting to even develop something on a given console, there's literally no other way to get dev kits. The situation you're describing only ever happened to 2 platform holder in the last 20 years: snoy and Steam.
And even Steam has alternative because there's other store on PC.
>Sony lets devs censor the content and then release the game.
And that's not a good thing homosexual, I'd rather have a game not releasing at all if they're going to remove fanservice.

There's no hearsay for Steam dumbass, there's literally a list of all the games they banned. >my company (asia) just got fricked over by Nintendo hard and we're livid because we spent a ton on making the English release and already had promotion materials for the west lined up.
Name the game or frick off.

I'm not aware of a single case of that on Switch other than DOAX3 Scarlet (which we know was Koei Tecmo getting cold feet on their own as it was already the case for the Vita/PS4 versions), please provide examples. If a game only gets an Asia English physical release that's a different matter of the publisher being cheap (Koei Tecmo)/too niche (eastasiasoft), the games will still be available digitally on western eShops.
Sounds like bullshit because Nintendo literally stopped caring and is allowing game with full nudity now.
English release hasn't been announced yet due to Nintendo fricking us over but you'll see, the Asia only English release will be announced in the next few months.
It's not a brand new game, been out for a couple of years but we got demand from western fans to release it in English and we spent a lot of money on the translation only for Nintendo to frick us over.
The game was originally on Sony platforms too but Sony forced us to censor it so we were going to release this new version on Switch only this time. Fat lot of good that did.
All of the platforms have been fricked up by western bullshit. Nintendo is not an exception. They're so draconian it's worse than Sony.
Anon, Mugen Souls Z just released on Switch in the west uncensored and it has e-girl fanservice, whatever you're saying doesnt match what's actually happening.
Did you even get the game rated in EU and NA appropriately. The only time shit like that happened is when the company showed Nintendo a lower rating but the game they uploaded was lewder. They got their game pulled out of the EShop becuase of the frickery they did.
The game was already rated and approved both in NA and EU, it's 100% Nintendo (NOA and NOE) that blocked us.

Your refusal to name a game that is supposedly already released in Asia is suspicious.
And as said previously, you got the process wrong, you need to ask if you can port a game on a console before even starting working on a port and the only ones who cucked a dev that way are snoy and Steam.

And I'm not talking about the english release homosexual, the fact that act all secretive about an already released niche as frick game on a website known for being full of fake rumors tells me that you're full of shit

Finally I found it
Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief but it's not by D3 also didn't know NISA did bring it.
When will they understand that they appeal to us by being themselves?
Many of them know but most likely politics or their higher ups just decide things. All of them adopted ESG in close time frame and changed their old logos for globalization. It's international agenda and these big corporates like to be part of it.
>dude the problem is this >the problem is that!
The problem is its a fricking Rogue-like. But also what the frick I never heard of this game until this thread.
I've had this game on my wishlist on Xbox for a while and I've just been waiting for it to go on sale but japanese are israelites and hate sales sometimes. It looks great but not 30 fricking bucks worth.
>65 metacritic score >is only on PS5 in japan
Woaaahhh its almost like its not only a bad game, but it has no audience since japanese only buy switch and phone games.
It's super jank but it's kinda fun for a while. It feels REALLY cheap though, like the sort of thing that one or two guys make in a couple of years with good early access principles, not an entire dev studio. I don't regret buying it but I can't recommend it to anyone.
D3Publisher is selling DLC for Custom Mech Wars themed after their old fanservice games such as Bullet Girls and Omega Labyrinth, but they refuse to make new entries? Why is this? Especially when Bullet Girls Phantasia sold over 100k and Omega Labyrinth Life sold over 50k, FAR better than this ED-0 game will ever do.
I didn't realize it was the same publisher. I actually liked Omega Labyrinth Life, and it's not like we get other mystery dungeon games coming out these days to compete with it.
It's not on PlayStation which I feel might be a conscious decision to have more fanservice.
It was very tame for a fanservice game. It sold over 50k. Not sure how good.
Sold 50k in 10 days. Far more successful than this game, but is behind Bullet Girls Phantasia which sold 100k. It's obvious that fanservice is the biggest sales driver which Samurai Maiden was lacking in.
There was another update from the producer a month or two later where he mentioned it was at 80k. I think there's a high chance it got to 100k through sales since then and they simply didn't bother reporting it.
Their EDF series bring some numbers sometimes. Shame Zangeki no Reginleiv by Sandlot didn't make it to west.

Japs are buck broken by ESG for some reason. Even compile hearts didn't do anything heavy for a while.
In case anyone didn't notice it, recently Bandai Namco (owners of D3Publisher) updated the D3 logo to include Bandai. This is Bandai doing closer "control" on D3 properties, and Bandai is barring them from doing fanservice games anymore.
Yep it's Bamco why they won't do fanservice games anymore. Anyone here thinking a Bullet Girls game would come out with Bamco's logo on it in the current year is on hardcore drugs. Harada himself even appeared on this "talk" that the OP image is talking about
D3 have always released low budget janky games. I don't know why they think they can suddenly compete with Capcom. I think their idea here was to capitalise on EDF?
Of course. Bamco ruins everything it touches, safe sales from slightly risque games will disappear, and D3 will be folded into the conglomerate in a few years after posting record low profits due to being mandated to chase after a market that doesn't fricking exist.
I don't think there is sales numbers for Oneechanbara but this

did very well and I would think Oneechanbara would be even higher.
It seems like another Oneechanbara was planned but I'm guessing Bandai Namco told them to cancel it
From 2021:
https://twinfinite.net/2020/12/onee-chanbara-origin-interview/
Giuseppe: How did Onee Channbara Origin do in Japan? How is it doing now that it has launched in the west?
Nobuyuki Okajima: In Japan, we were able to attract new
users as well as old fans. We’re proud to say that the game has been
re-evaluated as both old and new, and that even though it’s a simple,
clear game with a lot of fighting, the battles themselves are pleasant.
It seems that users in the West feel the same way.
Giuseppe: What are your thoughts and plans on the possible future for the series?
Nobuyuki Okajima: I can’t say anything specific about
the next series, but I can say that I don’t have the idea of continuing
to remake after the third one because most of them are already made in
HD.
I think it’s going to be a different direction, but I’m not able to say any more about that at this time.
Giuseppe: D3 Publisher has released many games in the western
market over the past few years. How do you feel about the results, and
what are your thoughts on the future of your games in the west?
Nobuyuki Okajima: We believe that D3P is a rookie in the Western market.
That’s why we think that the only way to gain Western fans is to
carefully localize games initially aimed at the Japanese market,
including not only with subtitles but also audio, and to continue
releasing them to Western markets. We will continue to do so.
Sold 50k in 10 days. Far more successful than this game, but is behind Bullet Girls Phantasia which sold 100k. It's obvious that fanservice is the biggest sales driver which Samurai Maiden was lacking in.
>make zombie game >don't market it. whoever even heard of this game? >competing against the west which is fully overloaded on zombie shovelware shit
mistakes might've been made
D3's biggest problem is and will ways continue to be their obsessed devotion to sony. After omega labyrinth they have all reason to never publish another game on that platform again, but they keep coming back to playstation and making games that sony goes out of their way to hide and then the playstation games flop.
Japan needs to honestly understand that a huge portion of their audience is Asian, and those Asian fans don't want Japanese games that are censored or toned down for American sensibilities.
When devs do that shit, they pretty much ensure that people will avoid their game, since they're putting a big sticker on their game that says "This game is made for Americans and no one else, if you are not American, please avoid at all costs!"
True asians are into e-girls and fanservice unlike americans. Still americans will buy fanservice games but japs are scared for no reason. Just drop some good fanservice game and see results. 2B butt didn't stop game from selling.
I've been wondering since back then there were some games that get released in english but Asian-only and can't be obtained in the west and I thought this would be the standard way for these kinds of game get published in other places than Japan. But that kinda stopped isn't it? I think this happened with DOAX3.
They never stopped. Bullet Girls, Omega Labyrinth, Summer Lesson, Moero, Etrian Odyssey HD, Monster Farm Kaiju and many asia physical exclusives some are in west digital only or not at all. Even upcoming die no daibouken physical in asia but not in west?
Japan needs to do it like in the SNES days and just release their shit uncensored for japan and censored/stuffed full of Black folk and muscle men for the west and make it region free and then see what version sells better.
they already failed at the title alone.
they should know from the bongland sales of the old PS2 onechanbara games to never put zombie in it. it literally gets buried under every other game with that word.
So according to the interview the producer wanted the game to sell better in the West than in Japan
https://s.famitsu.com/news/202309/22317990.html
>I heard from Hayashi D3P that he would like to sell more overseas than in Japan. However, based on these numbers, about half of the 13,000 copies are sold in Japan. At that point, it can be seen that the product has not reached overseas , so it seems that some kind of error or concept error has occurred.
More and more Japanese developers are wanting to abandon Japan to "chase the West". I'm so happy this flopped and the devs got a bitter reality check. Hope it keeps happening for all their Western pandery shit
Harada is like a ringleader of the Westernization of Japanese games so he probably has a hand in it. Many Japanese devs also feel that they must follow Sony and the "highly-respected" Square Enix on making games that only Americans like. Remember that Cyberconnect2 guy saying any Japanese person entering game development and isn't planning to make PS5 games (instead planning to make Switch games) is stupid?
Harada did deliver Summer Lesson but got raped by snoy. I wouldn't say he is pushing total westernization since he is making good looking females unlike troon fighter 6. Still too tame.
> Remember that Cyberconnect2 guy saying any Japanese person entering game development and isn't planning to make PS5 games (instead planning to make Switch games) is stupid?
I don't think that's what he said, he was talking about joining a big gaming company without having any experience with AAA gaming (Xbox and Playstation) being a bad thing.

Remember that Cyberconnect2 guy saying any Japanese person entering game development and isn't planning to make PS5 games (instead planning to make Switch games) is stupid?
I think because they didn't own ps5 but switch. He wanted them to know how system looked and worked.
These dumbfrick devs need to realize that the people who like western stuff are already entrenched in western stuff, they will largely never touch an Asian game in their life unless it's something like Resident Evil.
They're not Capcom, not even fricking Squeenix could make "let's chase after America and westernize all our shit" work, what makes these tiny no-names and AA devs think it'll work for them?
I don't think they realize that the western audience that even exists for games like this is identical to the japanese audience, i.e. they want to see erotic elements in the game.
These poor fools have been tricked into thinking there exists this mythical "Western Audience" that wants safe censored games. Will they wake up now or after 10 more failures like this?
>Will they wake up now or after 10 more failures like this?
given that this is just another failure in a line of dozens of censored failures, it's likely they'll simply keep releasing censored flops in the west. it probably costs them very little to do so, given that all they really seem to do is hire some calitroonian to troonyslate it then throw it up on steam or some shit.
I thank god every day that some GOD over at Atlus informed the Japanese team that "western players are buying your games BECAUSE they're so japanese, not despite it!"
Now I wait for this message to be disseminated to all the other japanese gaming companies (except square enix, they're way too far gone)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1717020/Ed0_Zombie_Uprising/
Bros, why did this rogue like zombie musou game without anything even worth paying attention to fail?
No coom is why. Not even joking. They lock off the girl to where you need to fricking unlock her. Was downloading it until I found that out. Now won't even pirate honestly.
Despite moving away from fanservice to please Americans it still sold most copies in Japan and sold almost nothing in America.

That entire store page/marketing is the problem, even if a game is pretty shit it can still sell if you have the proper store page that reflects what you're actually selling. The store page is the promise and agreement the developer makes with the customer. Your review score is how well your game matches that implied agreement (gameplay, bugs, etc). The issue here is mostly the promise part.
First the look of the game/trailer are all gameplay where you play as a single character fighting through hallways, so it seems pretty low budget.
Your character also ragdolls when it dies, and in the ads the whole things is marketed as light hearted and silly with the voice actor.
The capsule image is also bad, I can't tell what the genre should be, same with the name of the game, if it's like dynasty warriors then it should have a similar kind of feel to the name. Ed-0 makes it seem sci-fi or something too.
Despite that it has a $30 price tag. The game should be $15. I won't extrapolate on this other than that niche games like this can only afford that price tag if they're a longstanding title like neptunia with a longterm fanbase who know what they are buying and getting into despite its niche appeal. I have zero clue what this game is like watching it, it seems like a wildcard.
Second, drop the voice acting in the trailer, and drop most of the text in the trailer as well. Also substitute the gameplay clips in the trailer and add sweepthroughs of the levels and things like that. he trailer should not be 100% gameplay.
Next the UI for the game should be shown off somewhere in the first set of screenshots, that is where people expect to see what the ui looks like, this is actually where you show off your features for steam games, because players who care about the meat of the game look at the screenshots. The ui examples in the trailer could also be taken out and placed in these screenshots instead.
Despite moving away from fanservice to please Americans it still sold most copies in Japan and sold almost nothing in America.

Onechanbara died for this
It really doesn't help that Zombie games are the pinnacle of cheap indian/chinese cash-in game on Steam and there are so fricking many that people see 'Zombie' and immediately assume it's some poo attempt at making a real game using unity store assets and not that it's an actual game.
But even then, look at this game that sold 20x the numbers (based on review counts)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1566390/Seed_of_the_Dead_Sweet_Home/
It's possible to make japanese zombie jank that sells.
>seed of the dead
didn't I see this on 95 as a porn game where you frick the other survivors between missions
of course this game would sweep the frick out of my first unity zombie shooter.
given that this is the first time i've ever even heard of this game yet the premise and art direction look interesting to me, i'm going to wager a complete lack of any kind of western marketing at all contributed heavily to their failure, assuming they were relying on western sales to pick up some slack.
I actually wanted to get loop 8 but it looks so tedious to play. it's pretty rare for an anime game like that to get such bad reviews on steam but it's honest about how bad the game is atleast.
The game has a few points where you can clearly tell they had much bigger ambitions that were heavily scaled back. There's concept art of cool boss fights and shit, and then in the actual game every single fight is identical and plays like total shit because the whole "friendship system" doesn't really work and you just sit there grinding out the highest response with a character until their rates go down and move onto the next one. Hell, the game balance and how shit your party members are mean that you actually have an easier time just soloing everything, plus you don't have to wait for them to cast pointless buffs every turn for no good reason.
I gave it more of a chance than it deserved hoping that maybe the game would open up after a few playthroughs, GPM was janky too but it actually had shit going on beneath the surface, after beating the game once the protagonist switches and the true story is very different. The original concept for that game was to let you play as every character in the game, and you actually can with a debug command but it's buggy. The combat was also 10x as interesting, being turn based strategy with a coding system so you could fit more commands into a single turn by chaining them properly.
Loop8 has a tiny fraction of the cast and yet manages to flesh each one of them out even worse than GPM did. Some of the characters are just fricking annoying, like Micchi who you have to save before talking to because if you have a high relationship with any other character, she will just stab you sometimes for an insta game over. If the story was interesting I could at least recommend running it with cheat engine to skip most of the grind, but it isn't, it's basic b***h Jap mythology and all the hints of things going on beneath the surface are just original myth flavor text, and what at first seems interesting like you're missing pieces to the puzzle turns out to be dreadfully simplistic.
Game looked good but why did they decide to go the early access route ? People are really burned out by early access. This is why currently most of the ambitious projects release a separate demo.
The game looked like risk of rain 2 with a titty ninja fighting zombies. It's enough to activate my monkey brain. I didn't care much for the fat sumo and samurai guy.
>$30 early access zombie roguelite with no advertising and general cheap look in the middle of economic recession
No, nobody is going to buy that shit.
I did heard of this game because I actually follow D3 on Steam and had literally no interest in it.
The girl needs to be unlocked and she's not cute and sexy enough for my tastes.
It doesnt look like fun to compensate for the lack of cute girls either, unlike EDF.
So yeah, I clicked the ignore button and never looked back.
the piss5 and xsex aren't healthy enough to support the existence of niche titles like this
they should have made this with the switch in mind
it will take a few more disastrous flops before the reality of this console generation sets among the developers
I'm sorry but the only company that is based in Asia and does rereleases of lewd older Playstation games on Switch is Eastasiasoft. And anon denied being from there so...
Chinese devs doing lewd games always release their game on PC.
And if that's not the case, it's a gacha on phone.
Even, if they were willing to release a lewd game on console, they would have issues with the CCP first rather than the platform holder and snoy has more influence in China than Nintendo has, meaning they can actually push for removal of fanservice like they did in the west.
Your refusal to name a game that is supposedly already released in Asia is suspicious.
And as said previously, you got the process wrong, you need to ask if you can port a game on a console before even starting working on a port and the only ones who cucked a dev that way are snoy and Steam.
And previous versions of the game were multiplatform including on the Switch, there was just no English release yet.
I find it so crazy how this happens. Like have they not thought of asking just one of their actual western fans about it and they'll say they wanted more lewds? I just don't get how EVERY lewd niche JP game makers are all making less lewd games and all making less money and then they're all confused unsure what's going wrong. Its just so bizarre.
Because their only contact with western "fans", and fans in general, is western media (journos). And of course those are gonna fill them with the current trendy propaganda.
I remember famitsu doing some kind of poll or interview to a western audience and the answers were basically "dont censor/keep making lewd".
What happened to that?
The only game I can think of that could remotely fit anon's epic LARP is https://store-jp.nintendo.com/list/software/70010000004341.html but the idea of Kadokawa having less clout than the likes of eastasiasoft is laughable.
Forget China there's a bunch of weird Japanese doujin games on Switch and PS4 that you probably just don't know about, like I played a JP Cthulhu themed doujin yuri VN on Switch last year and it wasn't ""sexy"" but I could totally see moronic western people going "SEXUALIZING CHILDREN!!!!!!!!" on it because the characters are in high school. Didn't Blue Reflection 2 have to pull some moronic shit changing all references to high school to "college" instead?
Lots of those games get weird western fans demanding English releases all the time.

Still wouldnt work because it's a game that would need to be lewder than Mugen Souls or 7 Pirates
>Japan only multiplatform game that had demand for a western release. >Game isn't that old since it already was on Switch before >Was censored by Sony >No association to Eastasiasoft
Goimg down the checklist of possible games in my mind, this situation just gets weirder and weirder. It's not NIS since they didn't put out a game that was that risqué and JP only recently. Neither has CH, or Bamco/D3. Is it a Entergram VN? But those are often just ports of PC games, and also sanitized.
What, it's Ar Nosurge DX? But that also didn't have anything too risky. And also in that case Sony didn't censor anything, it was actually the steam version that was censored.
Something by Kadokawa? But they haven't put out anything within the earlier named parameters either as far as I remember.
I bumped into this game at random, and I think the biggest thing that kept me from getting into it was that it was single-player. Looked like the kind of game that would be stupid but fun with friends. Oh well, time to keep twiddling my fricking thumbs and wait for EDF6 to come out.
I forgot about that game. I fapped to the characters back then.
Japs should stop being scared of americans and do whatever they want. ESG will kill them and even morons at marvelous know removing fanservice lower profit but they do it anyway.
https://archive.is/CA2Kx
Despite moving away from fanservice to please Americans it still sold most copies in Japan and sold almost nothing in America.
With fanservice games they would actually have higher results in America (and Japan) but they see botted Twitter posts saying fanservice bad and thus think it's the popular decision to not do it.
Steam outsold the PS5. Hope this leads to them putting their back catalogue there.
There’s no way the Xbox version sold that “well” is there?
Xbox players are hardcore westboos so zombie game is their ally.
>westaboos
Military bases actually
I remember some singer hoe buying xbox for being more hardcore or some shit. Could be advertisement or just women lol.
even she didn't want phony gaystation
That was before snoy went full america and fricked all japs.
>kill Oneechanbara to please twitterBlack folk
>Marvelous kills Senran Kagura to please twitterBlack folk
>Both of them start releasing disastrous flop after flop like Loop 8 and this game
And this was after they delayed the game for half a year.
when I hear time loop shit I immediately think of bravely default and lose all interest
At this point senran kagura is going to come back lmao.
>When will they fricking learn
never, you see it time and time again game devs will gladly get rid of the people who buy their shit for the larger group of people who might (but actually never will) buy their shit
>most in Japan is less than 3000 copies on PS5 and XBX
what the frick
that certainly doesn't cover the development cost of this game.
>sold the most on steam
>in JAPAN
I am so so glad to see japan embracing PC gaming after all these years
Plot twists. Those sales are from English teachers.
Anon please, you shouldn't use a huge failure like this as an indicator for that.
>Skip Switch
>Lose money
Many such cases.
>Bamco owns D3
>Harada: It failed because you didn't market it enough
>but they see botted Twitter posts saying fanservice bad and thus think it's the popular decision to not do it.
YEAH GO TELL EM MAGA NAZIS
It's funny how well it sold on the Xbox despite japanese games having no presence on the platform. Developers should release more games on Xbox and make Switch a priority platform.
When will they understand that they appeal to us by being themselves?
Sounds like bullshit because Nintendo literally stopped caring and is allowing game with full nudity now.
Are you pretending to be someone from Eastasiasoft? I've never heard of a game company "asia".
>With Steam I'm working on hearsay
There's no hearsay for Steam dumbass, there's literally a list of all the games they banned.
>my company (asia) just got fricked over by Nintendo hard and we're livid because we spent a ton on making the English release and already had promotion materials for the west lined up.
Name the game or frick off.
And where the frick did you get all that shit from? Let me guess? Your ass? Eshop just needs your game to be rated somewhere.
Idiot.
If what you're saying is true then I feel like someone like Joshua Michael French would have mentioned it.
Anon, Mugen Souls Z just released on Switch in the west uncensored and it has e-girl fanservice, whatever you're saying doesnt match what's actually happening.
Name the game or frick off homosexual.
Did you even get the game rated in EU and NA appropriately. The only time shit like that happened is when the company showed Nintendo a lower rating but the game they uploaded was lewder. They got their game pulled out of the EShop becuase of the frickery they did.
The game was already rated and approved both in NA and EU, it's 100% Nintendo (NOA and NOE) that blocked us.
tell me name of your game and I rate you
Your refusal to name a game that is supposedly already released in Asia is suspicious.
And as said previously, you got the process wrong, you need to ask if you can port a game on a console before even starting working on a port and the only ones who cucked a dev that way are snoy and Steam.
>game that is supposedly already released in Asia is suspicious.
learn to fricking read
>English release hasn't been announced yet due to Nintendo fricking us over but you'll see, the Asia only English release will be announced in the next few months.
And I'm not talking about the english release homosexual, the fact that act all secretive about an already released niche as frick game on a website known for being full of fake rumors tells me that you're full of shit
You're not answering any of my question and I suspect that you cant because you're only larping.
drooling moron
Name the game homosexual.
>and that's how you get the ass moronic situation of Asia-only English releases
I'm not aware of a single case of that on Switch other than DOAX3 Scarlet (which we know was Koei Tecmo getting cold feet on their own as it was already the case for the Vita/PS4 versions), please provide examples. If a game only gets an Asia English physical release that's a different matter of the publisher being cheap (Koei Tecmo)/too niche (eastasiasoft), the games will still be available digitally on western eShops.
Also remember that the PS4 version of DOAX3 Scarlet was censored on PS4 but not on Switch.
I generally have a passing awareness of niche shit like this but I have literally never heard of it before.
The thieve game looked more interesting. I forgot it's name though.
Finally I found it
Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief but it's not by D3 also didn't know NISA did bring it.
Many of them know but most likely politics or their higher ups just decide things. All of them adopted ESG in close time frame and changed their old logos for globalization. It's international agenda and these big corporates like to be part of it.
This, I've never heard of it before and even if Ganker doesn't talk about it usually Steam will recommend D3 titles to me.
Same, they really fricked up big time it seems
I literally memoryholed this game after watching the trailers
>dude the problem is this
>the problem is that!
The problem is its a fricking Rogue-like. But also what the frick I never heard of this game until this thread.
I've had this game on my wishlist on Xbox for a while and I've just been waiting for it to go on sale but japanese are israelites and hate sales sometimes. It looks great but not 30 fricking bucks worth.
>calls japs israelites because they won't do sales
>doesn't want to pay full price for something
>Judaism is when you don't let yourself get fricked in the arse by scammers
Black person the game just came out a few months ago. I'm poor or I would have bought it.
>ED-0: Zombie Uprising
I don't think I've even heard of this game
never heard of it
it looks awful though
>65 metacritic score
>is only on PS5 in japan
Woaaahhh its almost like its not only a bad game, but it has no audience since japanese only buy switch and phone games.
It's super jank but it's kinda fun for a while. It feels REALLY cheap though, like the sort of thing that one or two guys make in a couple of years with good early access principles, not an entire dev studio. I don't regret buying it but I can't recommend it to anyone.
just watching a video I can tell it's cheap and jank, and not jank in a good way
>Need to unlock the female
Well there's your problem
D3Publisher is selling DLC for Custom Mech Wars themed after their old fanservice games such as Bullet Girls and Omega Labyrinth, but they refuse to make new entries? Why is this? Especially when Bullet Girls Phantasia sold over 100k and Omega Labyrinth Life sold over 50k, FAR better than this ED-0 game will ever do.
Such a shame that a lot of their PC ports suck dick. I'd get Oneechanbara Origin this instant if it wasn't such a hackjob.
Making a new game is harder than putting a few models into some unity-tier shitpost game. Simple as.
I didn't realize it was the same publisher. I actually liked Omega Labyrinth Life, and it's not like we get other mystery dungeon games coming out these days to compete with it.
Actually there's finally a new Shiren coming out next spring for the Switch. Izuna is also getting a reboot.
I fear for Izuna aging her up and new design. I hope they won't kill fanservice.
It's not on PlayStation which I feel might be a conscious decision to have more fanservice.
There was another update from the producer a month or two later where he mentioned it was at 80k. I think there's a high chance it got to 100k through sales since then and they simply didn't bother reporting it.
>D3
I remember them doing budget crap since the ps, what did they expect?
Their EDF series bring some numbers sometimes. Shame Zangeki no Reginleiv by Sandlot didn't make it to west.
Japs are buck broken by ESG for some reason. Even compile hearts didn't do anything heavy for a while.
In case anyone didn't notice it, recently Bandai Namco (owners of D3Publisher) updated the D3 logo to include Bandai. This is Bandai doing closer "control" on D3 properties, and Bandai is barring them from doing fanservice games anymore.
They're owned by bamco oh. So they will die soon sadly since namco is one of companies that changed their logo to globalism(censorship).
Yep it's Bamco why they won't do fanservice games anymore. Anyone here thinking a Bullet Girls game would come out with Bamco's logo on it in the current year is on hardcore drugs. Harada himself even appeared on this "talk" that the OP image is talking about
And yet they're fricking up the localisation and dubbing of EDF now
What a world
D3 have always released low budget janky games.
Didn't they publish that samurai yuri game? Wasn't that successful?
It was very tame for a fanservice game. It sold over 50k. Not sure how good.
What would be the best representation of their fanservice games? I guess Oneechanbara?
It's obvious that fanservice is the biggest sales driver which Samurai Maiden was lacking in.
>make zombie game
>don't market it. whoever even heard of this game?
>competing against the west which is fully overloaded on zombie shovelware shit
mistakes might've been made
Don't forget
>rogue-like
I really liked the trailer
sad the game sucks
Also if someone wants to read
https://automaton-media.com/en/news/20230925-21784/
A jap website with auto translation?
D3's biggest problem is and will ways continue to be their obsessed devotion to sony. After omega labyrinth they have all reason to never publish another game on that platform again, but they keep coming back to playstation and making games that sony goes out of their way to hide and then the playstation games flop.
I was surprised they made mech game for sony and not nintendo,
Not only that, but it's not even coming to PS4, PS5 and PC only. Same with this ED-0 game despite being super budget (well it's also on lolbox too)
PS5 and PC only damn dead on DOA. Maybe 5 - 7k first week.
Oh good to know then I live in Asia so I guess it makes sense that I can see all of those games on steam
In arabia we have senran titles but not estival or shinovie ones on steam while that bdsm mini game one available kek. Fricking marvelous.
>Westerners like: Zombies, roguelike
>Westerners hate: boobs
>Alright lads let's make it big in America!
But the P3 remake is clearly gunning for a western audience.
There was also a thread some days ago that confirmed that they were censoring pantyshot.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1717020/Ed0_Zombie_Uprising/
Bros, why did this rogue like zombie musou game without anything even worth paying attention to fail?
No coom is why. Not even joking. They lock off the girl to where you need to fricking unlock her. Was downloading it until I found that out. Now won't even pirate honestly.
The girl wasn't enough for me so I didn't bother.
For me it looks fun enough but I'm not about to go through that shit. Should have just made all the characters playable from the start.
Why did they think someone narrating the trailer while sounding like a 75 IQ moron is a good idea?
The store page killed this game.
Never heard of it. The title makes it sound like shovel ware though.
I hope jap industry goes down so can be restarted again.
Just looking at the game now.
The price point is way too high, it should be $15.
given that this is the first time i've ever even heard of this game yet the premise and art direction look interesting to me, i'm going to wager a complete lack of any kind of western marketing at all contributed heavily to their failure, assuming they were relying on western sales to pick up some slack.
>check it out
>shitty indie zombie slasher
>streamers reactions as marketing video
>that would be 30 euro shekels
Frick off.
Yeah, wacky ragdoll effects, streamer reaction video, yet $30. Wtf were they thinking
>a 6/10 game
>fans are coomers
>make it a non-coom game
>on the PS5 which is a console nobody owns in Japan
>not even a PC release
I actually wanted to get loop 8 but it looks so tedious to play. it's pretty rare for an anime game like that to get such bad reviews on steam but it's honest about how bad the game is atleast.
>$50 msrp
bruh
Exactly what about it looks good?
The game looked like risk of rain 2 with a titty ninja fighting zombies. It's enough to activate my monkey brain. I didn't care much for the fat sumo and samurai guy.
>titty ninja
>didn't care much for the fat sumo and samurai
The titty ninja had to be unlocked
>$30 early access zombie roguelite with no advertising and general cheap look in the middle of economic recession
No, nobody is going to buy that shit.
I did heard of this game because I actually follow D3 on Steam and had literally no interest in it.
The girl needs to be unlocked and she's not cute and sexy enough for my tastes.
It doesnt look like fun to compensate for the lack of cute girls either, unlike EDF.
So yeah, I clicked the ignore button and never looked back.
So these japan devs see ugly black people in every game announcement in the west and think that's what we want?
This is the first time I've heard of this, but the game looks pretty boring.
>just checked my library and I apparently bought this game and completely forgot about it afterwards
Well I guess I'll give it a try
No one cares about japanese games anymore.
They all are low quality shovel ware.
At least before they added erotic snd edgy stories, but not now.
Here is how you make money d3 : FORCE THE DEVS TO FRICKING RELEASE EDF 6 ON PC FASTER, WHERE THE FRICK IS IT
Rent free
the piss5 and xsex aren't healthy enough to support the existence of niche titles like this
they should have made this with the switch in mind
it will take a few more disastrous flops before the reality of this console generation sets among the developers
a studio that only makes janky coomercore games makes a janky game without the coom and is surprised that it doesnt sell?
I'm sorry but the only company that is based in Asia and does rereleases of lewd older Playstation games on Switch is Eastasiasoft. And anon denied being from there so...
Could be a chink dev so who cares?
Chinese devs doing lewd games always release their game on PC.
And if that's not the case, it's a gacha on phone.
Even, if they were willing to release a lewd game on console, they would have issues with the CCP first rather than the platform holder and snoy has more influence in China than Nintendo has, meaning they can actually push for removal of fanservice like they did in the west.
And previous versions of the game were multiplatform including on the Switch, there was just no English release yet.
Just name the fricking game you stupid RPing autist
EGS and Blockrock probably.
The only game I can think of that could remotely fit anon's epic LARP is https://store-jp.nintendo.com/list/software/70010000004341.html but the idea of Kadokawa having less clout than the likes of eastasiasoft is laughable.
He said asia not japan, probably some china shovelware
I don't know of any lewd Chinese/Taiwanese/SEA multiplat game series already on Switch. It doesn't sound like something that should be hard to verify.
If they're so obscure then I doubt they'd be localizing them due to western demand like anon claimed.
Lots of those games get weird western fans demanding English releases all the time.
Still wouldnt work because it's a game that would need to be lewder than Mugen Souls or 7 Pirates
BR2 also censored pantsu and toned down many of the lewd element from BR1 such as the transparency effect of wet clothes.
Can I get a source on that VN? Sounds up my alley.
That game was censored on PS4 lmao.
And it's a lot less lewd than both Mugen Souls.
Yeah what you said about Kadokawa, also this isn't nsfw enough.
>Japan only multiplatform game that had demand for a western release.
>Game isn't that old since it already was on Switch before
>Was censored by Sony
>No association to Eastasiasoft
Goimg down the checklist of possible games in my mind, this situation just gets weirder and weirder. It's not NIS since they didn't put out a game that was that risqué and JP only recently. Neither has CH, or Bamco/D3. Is it a Entergram VN? But those are often just ports of PC games, and also sanitized.
What, it's Ar Nosurge DX? But that also didn't have anything too risky. And also in that case Sony didn't censor anything, it was actually the steam version that was censored.
Something by Kadokawa? But they haven't put out anything within the earlier named parameters either as far as I remember.
i never even heard of ED-0 before this thread, what the hell.
based, accepting and understanding your failures is good
>Souka... in conclusion, we should appear harder to american current values.
>CHO ZOMBIEME CHEN CHEN DAISHITEEEE
Lmaoooo who the frick hired this guy???
I feel like that Thing/Thang comic would be appropriate here.

Link your sources, dammit
I bumped into this game at random, and I think the biggest thing that kept me from getting into it was that it was single-player. Looked like the kind of game that would be stupid but fun with friends. Oh well, time to keep twiddling my fricking thumbs and wait for EDF6 to come out.
The worst thing that can happen to D3 is being forced to make yearly iteration of EDF if they actually stop making lewd games.
