Lot of people bought into the hype then realised CRPGs aren't for them
thought from the beginning "no fricking way this many people like this type of game" lmao
I think if you did a cursory search of RPGs with steam achievements, the vast majority of them have roughly the same rate of people getting the 'beat the game' achievement. It's an extremely poor metric to measure much of anything by.
I guess if that's all the information you're looking for, then yes, but more often than not I see completely braindead morons try and say "game bad because nobody finish look at achievements"
All games must be fricking bad, then, if this is the stick you're measuring with.
And if you read what I said, at no point did I imply that was what he said and my statement about the fact was more of a tangent. The "you're" was in reference to the people who actually do that.
This is literally me.
I played through Divinity Original Sin 2 3 times, albeit 2 of those times with friends.
I dropped BG3 twice, both times when I got to Act 3
Is this your first time ever looking at achievements? Like most games hang around 20% for people completing with some others reaching around 40% to maybe 45% on the rare occasion.
A lot of people buy games, play once, and never play again.
I find it tough to feel invested in the story. At most I'm supposed to be angry at the squid people or try to care about a few characters, like the Tieflings (who are not the main plot) but I sure as frick don't care about my marvel-tier party members
>Spend Act 1 looking for ways to get rid of the tadpole >Suddenly in Act 2 I'm not doing that anymore, I'm instead putting more tadpoles in my head
Didn't really understand why I was suddenly trying to infiltrate the cult and do something in a temple and kill ketheric, either
I tend to get choice paralysis and end up making different characters to finish the first act with over and over. I've only gotten past Act 2 with my Dragon/Devotion Sorcadin Durge
it's a good game but gortash is too silly to be taken seriously as a villain, orin is just too hilarious, and ketheric is just a bored dad angry at the world for his wife dying.
Ketheric felt like a good villain. Gortash feels so pointless in comparison, felt like they just didn’t bother fleshing him out because “oh the brain is the real final boss of act 3 anyways!!!” or whatever. His fight is also super fricking lame compared to Ketheric’s.
Orin’s fight isn’t much better and she’s too goofy to take seriously like you said, but the lines you get with her where she’s pretending to be some random civilian are pretty funny. And her kidnapping one of your party members is a cute gimmick and the underground temple thing was cool. Fighting Gortash in the castle meanwhile was whatever. Gortash just fricking sucks 0/10 boring ass dude.
For me, it's rescuing Orpheus and then forcing him to become a mind flayer so the githBlack person civil war is guaranteed to have as many casualties as possible on both sides. I also turn Orpheus into a displacer beast right as we kill the brain so the end cutscene bugs and doesn't acknowledge his existence.
all he needed to say was "fly with movement not bonus actions" and i would have been in, luckily friend failed the check to not become almost full illithid
>become a mind flayer
lol you don't "become" a mind flayer, the tadpole eats your brain and uses your body to grow, like a spider wasp
it's larian not knowing the lore yet again
Withers calls Mind Flayers soulless monsters, and you can tell the Emperor you know hes full of shit. Hes a monster pretending to be the same person to emotionally manipulate you.
Given the audience of the game which is primarily trannies and women that's not surprising. The trannies probably killed themselves long before they finished a hundred hour slogfest and women aren't good with long commitment these days especially when the payoff isn't immediate.
i reached act 3 many months ago and now just waiting if any next updatse would add anything to it, i'm personally disappointed how small the city itself is compared to BG1 and also looks like a fricking mess with props everywhere, streets are godamn tight and looks ugly as shit.
The game is like 200 hours long if you explore fully. Also this does not include restarts for making a different character. 1 in 5 is pretty impressive actually.
Fricking hell man, act 3 is truly glued with spit and prayers.
Every quest has some kind of bug or simply don't fricking progress
Not even reloading and using a guide helped me.
its sitting at 14 million units on steam so i just did the math. The game is like 150 hours long if youre being conservative about what content youre completing, 19% is a pretty strong statistic imo
Currently in the BG city. There's so much shit to do and it feels like the game is always breaking for me or a friend in that area. I think they should have raised the level cap and nerfed some D&D stuff. >"but the rules!"
frick the rules, we hit max level some time ago so we're basically just doing missions to see what the hell happens and maybe pick up some cool gear. I'd like a few extra spell slots or some other utility skills that were balanced for the BG3 experience. I realize they had to give the players wiggle room because there was no way to know what kind of quests you'd complete or miss along the way but if your group is like mine (we do all the shit) it's easy to hit max level well before the end of the game so you just use your OP skills to thrash shit but can't level up further.
>boot it up >spend an hour or 2 researching builds >exit the brain creature ship >reach first branching path >quit and tell myself i will try again next patch
I just can't get motivated to explore this game's world for some reason.
I dropped the game before even ending Act 1
Fallout really carried the CRPG genre because those games suck ahahha. >There are people that still tell me the game gets better after the gay bear sex
I got it, got to BG and realised how much the quality dropped. Reading patch notes I saw that even big fricking things were absent, like Karlachs endings, so I just left it. I will restart my play through as a paladin, because my drow cleric of Eilistrae was also disappointing in that I couldn't redeem the paladin drow companion, despite that being the whole set up. Not even an acknowledgement from minthara
>then the poster never played the game.
act 3 is really bad and a bugged mess
the obsession with sex is cringe and terrible presented, as if written by adolescents
homosexuality and trannies are disgusting and exist just to tick boxes, adding nothing relevant or culturally to the setting, quite the contrary they take you away from the game because you know they exist sole for political points
Besides my performance dropping off a cliff when I played in 2023 before patches, it was alright. I did feel a bit overwhelmed with all the NPCs in the city and felt lost at times
>demon shows up >"i will remove the tadpole from your head for a price" >agree and ask him to remove it >"erm no ur supposed to say no because otherwise this fricking goyslop shitheap story falls apart immediately"

Like two months ago my game bugged out at the last boss and it wouldn't let me use the crown. I shut it off and still haven't picked it back up, I was so pissed. So that's why I haven't beat it. Just said frick it and will probably replay it in a couple years if there's new stuff out.
I got tired of the texture issues in act 3, characters in cutscenes looked like they had pixel art makeup >Not enough VRAM imagine being poor
Their clothes and stuff in the background would load just fine so priorities were completely messed up
>monstrous 150 hour slog of turn based "combat" and stiff npcs talking to each other or staring off into space glassy eyed while a narrator talks instead
This surprises you how?
It's a big game
UU
UU
bump
Its a shit game*
It's a BG game.
Lot of people bought into the hype then realised CRPGs aren't for them
thought from the beginning "no fricking way this many people like this type of game" lmao
I think it has more to the combat mechanics being really punishing if you don't know how to level your characters optimally.
I didn't even bother finishing the tutorial. Fricking boring trash.
Me, but I pirated because I'm not that stupid.
Understandable, the game is most fun on honour mode multiplayer playing the first 2 acts over and over.
All NEETs. I've been playing this long shit ever since it came out and just now entered act 3
Based playing video games 10 minutes a day chad.
when the story is as unbearable as this, its understandable
im pretty sure darktide probably has the best player to playing ratio. 97%+ has beaten its prologue
I think if you did a cursory search of RPGs with steam achievements, the vast majority of them have roughly the same rate of people getting the 'beat the game' achievement. It's an extremely poor metric to measure much of anything by.
it’s a great metric to measure how many people beat the game
I guess if that's all the information you're looking for, then yes, but more often than not I see completely braindead morons try and say "game bad because nobody finish look at achievements"
All games must be fricking bad, then, if this is the stick you're measuring with.
He didn't even say the game was bad
brainrot
And if you read what I said, at no point did I imply that was what he said and my statement about the fact was more of a tangent. The "you're" was in reference to the people who actually do that.
Posting a pic of a bad game that nobody beat is really not helping your argument.
Go look up an RPG you like and bring back results, then. The numbers are very much comparable no matter where you look.
Act 3 is so shit you can literally drop the game there and lose nothing.
Just typical Larain dropping the ball where it matters most
Yeah I didn't like all that muh refugee crap. It's as if they are unable to not mention brexit or trump
This is literally me.
I played through Divinity Original Sin 2 3 times, albeit 2 of those times with friends.
I dropped BG3 twice, both times when I got to Act 3
The average game is like 14% completion and the absolute highest games are like 40%
That's more than I expected.
Is this your first time ever looking at achievements? Like most games hang around 20% for people completing with some others reaching around 40% to maybe 45% on the rare occasion.
A lot of people buy games, play once, and never play again.
that's a lot, honestly
I've started 7 playthroughs and didn't beat act 1 in any of them because it's so fricking boring
This
Its too boring, I can't be invested to actually beat it
>Inb4 BG1 was low level too
Yeah but at least it had a hook, 3's too fricking dull
I find it tough to feel invested in the story. At most I'm supposed to be angry at the squid people or try to care about a few characters, like the Tieflings (who are not the main plot) but I sure as frick don't care about my marvel-tier party members
>Supposed to care about tieflings
Lel, killed those red Black folk immediately and fricked my drow wife, imagine playing as a goody two shoes bitcg
>Spend Act 1 looking for ways to get rid of the tadpole
>Suddenly in Act 2 I'm not doing that anymore, I'm instead putting more tadpoles in my head
Didn't really understand why I was suddenly trying to infiltrate the cult and do something in a temple and kill ketheric, either
I couldn't force myself to play through the shit heap that is Act 3. First 2 were pretty good though.
Pretty impressive when you consider how many normalgays bought into the hype.
Can you finish the game without a heartfelt thank you and miss out on the achievement?
Pretty sure I spent 2 week on the first act because I kept creating new characters.

And her kidnapping one of your party members is a cute gimmick and the underground temple thing was cool. Fighting Gortash in the castle meanwhile was whatever. Gortash just fricking sucks 0/10 boring ass dude.
Who said you even had to fight Gortash. Just deal with Orin ally with Gortash and the brain just instakills Gortash for you.
That's pretty high for such a long game
Every time I reach the druid camp my interest just dies.
When does it pick up?
lol that's 10 minutes into the game. just uninstall and move on to a game you can enjoy.
Forgot to mention
This is my first CRPG
Act 2 is the only good act, mainly because Ketheric is a cool motherfricker
It doesn't, actually it gets worse.
Steam doesn't track achievements from private profiles, only that they own the game
/thread
Its like this for every single game on steam you absolute fricking MORON
zamn i guess i'm part of the 18.8%
i also managed to save every single tiefling somehow
>turned into a mindflayer
cuck
For me, it's rescuing Orpheus and then forcing him to become a mind flayer so the githBlack person civil war is guaranteed to have as many casualties as possible on both sides. I also turn Orpheus into a displacer beast right as we kill the brain so the end cutscene bugs and doesn't acknowledge his existence.
mind flayer powers are overpowered and i betrayed the emperor after the tentacle sex.
all he needed to say was "fly with movement not bonus actions" and i would have been in, luckily friend failed the check to not become almost full illithid
>friend goes to take a piss while i was sitting on the dice roll
>comes back to me flying all over the asteroid
You're both are idiots. You killed your character and a new illithid was born from your corpse. It was all a lie.
>character dies and corpse is literally puppeted by another entity
>you still have control of it
Fricking moronic game.
I don't care. The powers were worth it and my character killed themselves in the end so they don't have to live in a world full of black gnomes
I got it cause one of my friends playing decided to do it
>become a mind flayer
lol you don't "become" a mind flayer, the tadpole eats your brain and uses your body to grow, like a spider wasp
it's larian not knowing the lore yet again
Sounds like a metaphor for their customers.
Withers calls Mind Flayers soulless monsters, and you can tell the Emperor you know hes full of shit. Hes a monster pretending to be the same person to emotionally manipulate you.
Yeah but we are talking about the writing on the achievement. I don't believe for a second that the writers actually know how it works.
That's not that weird in terms of vidya stats. I don't know why you'd pretend otherwise (oh wait it's to shit post)
That's extremely high for this sort of game, compare it to literally any other game even in other genres and I bet it's favourable
That's genuinely pretty high of a percentage compared to a lot of other games I have.
I'm actually impressed.
They're too busy gooning to shart
I stopped playing in Act 1 and just havent felt compelled to play anymore.
Its just not very enjoyable to actually *play*
isn't that pretty average? most of the longer games have around 20% completion rate
just compare it to mgs5, witcher 3 and dark souls
I keep breaking the game with mods when it updates. I restarted like 3 times already.
I'm 120+ hours in my first playthrough and fricking Act 3 jesus christ
I stopped shortly after getting to act 3. When definitive edition comes out in a year or two I'll go back and finish it.
implying the modern wrpg fan plays games themselves instead of just watching their favorite ecelebs do playthroughs
>people don't finish boring, repetitive, slow moving games that get worse and worse as the game goes on
shocker...?
I have about 300 hours between multiple playthroughs and I haven't beaten it either.
OP is gonna cry when he realises that's way above average for a steam game
All the BG3 cucks seething when he didn't even call the game bad lmao
Now go look at the achievements for beating the game for other games
I played for 200 hours but didn't beat it cause I read the endings sucked. I'll come back when they release the definitive edition
With stories made by people like that, no wonder.
It’s like everyone was having fun until it takes a hard left into being bad zoomer fanfic
that's pretty high compared to a lot of games
>long isometric RPG has a higher than average finish rate
Perhaps not quite the win you were thinking it was.
What "win" was he going for?
Does that change the fact it’s made for and by trannies?
Given the audience of the game which is primarily trannies and women that's not surprising. The trannies probably killed themselves long before they finished a hundred hour slogfest and women aren't good with long commitment these days especially when the payoff isn't immediate.
i reached act 3 many months ago and now just waiting if any next updatse would add anything to it, i'm personally disappointed how small the city itself is compared to BG1 and also looks like a fricking mess with props everywhere, streets are godamn tight and looks ugly as shit.
I don't get when people say act 3 is huge especially since most of it is a bunch of nothing
It's a huge collection of pointless assets. Siege of Dragonspear had same problems.
>how small the city itself is compared to BG1
The frick are you talking about? Are you insane?
i would have dropped it before the end except for the massive hype train behind it (surely it must get better?)
No shit. Larian RPGs suck after Act 1. Anyone with half a brain knows that.
The city part of the game is boring.
And fricking sewers in 2023 is a horrible setting
Unfinished game riddled with bugs and it really shines in third act, so of course a lot of people dropped it.
The game is like 200 hours long if you explore fully. Also this does not include restarts for making a different character. 1 in 5 is pretty impressive actually.
No it is not when you consider that 4 in 5 people don't care about the story's end. Meaning it is a bad story.
Fricking hell man, act 3 is truly glued with spit and prayers.
Every quest has some kind of bug or simply don't fricking progress
Not even reloading and using a guide helped me.
yeah that's how fotm works
Act 3 fricking sucks. Act 2 is mid.
I pirated it, beat it 4 times and then bought it. I have not beaten it on my purchased copy.
About 15 hours in I'm fricking done, it's a shitty game
You think thats bad? This is Path of Exile.
No wonder they want to do a massive overhaul of the game for PoE 2.
ancient free to play game with 16 quadrillion alt accounts has basic beginning acheivment at the same completion rate as finishing bauldurs gate 3
Isn't Path of Exile a free game? Meaning that a frickload of people would install it?
Your point is kinda lacking
of course. And when it came out, no one had gotten to act 3 before writing their stupid review
Thats still 2.6 million players
they sold 3mil before it even released. not even all the beta testers finished the game.
its sitting at 14 million units on steam so i just did the math. The game is like 150 hours long if youre being conservative about what content youre completing, 19% is a pretty strong statistic imo
I'm not faulting your math. I'm saying it's null since that's not even pre-launch numbers.
Which is worse, act 3 of bg 3 or the mountaintops in elden ring
Currently in the BG city. There's so much shit to do and it feels like the game is always breaking for me or a friend in that area. I think they should have raised the level cap and nerfed some D&D stuff.
>"but the rules!"
frick the rules, we hit max level some time ago so we're basically just doing missions to see what the hell happens and maybe pick up some cool gear. DOS Act 2
The problem with act 3 is that there is too much content.
The mountaintop has no content.
bg3 is a slog, and act 3 is a crime of bugs
This one will take a long time to be adequate
I finished the game but I pirated it so steam will never know
The game is long as frick so it's easy to burn out. Same thing with Elden Ring.
I burned out on elden ring after 10 minutes
Genderbent astarion is prime goth gf, left shart dead in a ditch somewhere
>boot it up
>spend an hour or 2 researching builds
>exit the brain creature ship
>reach first branching path
>quit and tell myself i will try again next patch
I just can't get motivated to explore this game's world for some reason.
I dropped the game before even ending Act 1
Fallout really carried the CRPG genre because those games suck ahahha.
>There are people that still tell me the game gets better after the gay bear sex
I have really bad alt-itis 🙁
I got it, got to BG and realised how much the quality dropped. Reading patch notes I saw that even big fricking things were absent, like Karlachs endings, so I just left it. I will restart my play through as a paladin, because my drow cleric of Eilistrae was also disappointing in that I couldn't redeem the paladin drow companion, despite that being the whole set up. Not even an acknowledgement from minthara
Reminder that when you see posts like:
>act 3 bad
>bear sex
>trannies
then the poster never played the game.
It's never been easier to spot nogames shitposters than it is with BG3, all these "people" do is regurgitate the same 2-3 talking points.
act 3 is bad
bear sex
trannies
also Black folk
also teiflings(Black folk)
also bad writing
also 5e rules
>then the poster never played the game.
act 3 is really bad and a bugged mess
the obsession with sex is cringe and terrible presented, as if written by adolescents
homosexuality and trannies are disgusting and exist just to tick boxes, adding nothing relevant or culturally to the setting, quite the contrary they take you away from the game because you know they exist sole for political points
Mediocre game.
>the poster never played the game.
That's right.
Besides my performance dropping off a cliff when I played in 2023 before patches, it was alright. I did feel a bit overwhelmed with all the NPCs in the city and felt lost at times
>demon shows up
>"i will remove the tadpole from your head for a price"
>agree and ask him to remove it
>"erm no ur supposed to say no because otherwise this fricking goyslop shitheap story falls apart immediately"
why did they even have this scene happen
The deal he presents you with in act 1 is a facade, he's just fricking with you, it's his way of introducing himself. He does't want your soul, it's the crown he's really after. He knows you're protected by the prism from the very beginning, but he doesn't know if you'll even be capable of getting him the crown, so he doesn't make a deal for it with you at the start of the game, and neither does he remove the tadpole - because why the frick would he do that when that'd interfere with his plan.
I can't decide how I want to get overpowered
I didn't really enjoy it.
That's pretty good for a CRPG yeah?
Remember anons, normies don't finish games, you are the autist who does and why you're here forever.
act 3 is so fricking bad omg
Like two months ago my game bugged out at the last boss and it wouldn't let me use the crown. I shut it off and still haven't picked it back up, I was so pissed. So that's why I haven't beat it. Just said frick it and will probably replay it in a couple years if there's new stuff out.
I got tired of the texture issues in act 3, characters in cutscenes looked like they had pixel art makeup
>Not enough VRAM imagine being poor
Their clothes and stuff in the background would load just fine so priorities were completely messed up
Well, yeah. They came, watched the bear fricking, came again, and turned it off like every other pornbrain.
>monstrous 150 hour slog of turn based "combat" and stiff npcs talking to each other or staring off into space glassy eyed while a narrator talks instead
This surprises you how?
>a whole thread of cope trying to pretend people play and like video games
>visual novel choose your own adventure book crossed with take your turn rock paper scissors
Nice """game""' you got there
Fromslop gay or just a contrarian who hates all games?
The game is like 80 hours long.
It's impressive more than 10% even managed that since act 3 is dogshit.
secondary fans, anon
they've ruined dungeons and dragons
who cares, BG3 sucks
>BG3
>still filled with seething gaygets that did not play the game
